Negative experience: Our recent visit to the orthodontic side was highly upsetting. My daughter’s braces adjustment was handled very roughly, causing her significant pain and tears. When she expressed her pain, the orthodontic assistant minimized her experience by suggesting it was isolated to a single, minor event, which did not reflect what she actually endured throughout the entire appointment. Furthermore, I was deeply uncomfortable with the lack of transparency regarding parental observation. While not explicitly stated as an official rule, the staff repeatedly discouraged me from observing my daughter's care over the course of her orthodontic treatment. Even when standing completely out of the way, I was frequently asked to return to the waiting room. Because this occurred in front of the orthodontist, it appears to be an intentional practice policy on the orthodontic side, which sharply contrasts with the welcoming environment on the dentistry side. This lack of transparency was never communicated during our initial consultation. As a parent and an educator, it is deeply concerning that a pediatric practice would actively discourage parental presence, and I cannot recommend their orthodontic services based on this experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a LONG awaited review. I was a patient at this practice back in the early 90s with Dr Weiss. Over the course of all my years as a pediatric patient at this practice I was treated with such a high level of comfort and safety ANY parents dream to be sure your child was getting top quality care. Now because of that care and comfort, and I have shared this over 100 times, I have actually become a registered dental hygienist. I will never forget the absolutely stunning Barbie like smiles from Angie (she was one of my hygienists, and a TOTALLY amazing one!) I wanted to be like her. When I started hygiene school back in 2020 often times you are asked “why dental hygiene?” The answer? This practice, the hygiene team and of course the incredible dentists, Dr Weiss and Dr Barton. (I still have fillings from the early 2000s in my mouth and YES COMPOSITE NOT AMALGAM). As a hygienist in adult care I have patients everyday that come In with dental anxiety and more times than not the fear began as a child. I hear stories of poor care, dentist or hygienists that weren’t friendly or nice or didn’t listen when something hurt. This is an experience i will never relate to because, this office, The Center for Pediatric Dental Care staff actually does make you feel safe, heard and valued. I will never be able to thank this office enough for giving me such great care, the outcome is that now, I am one of them. Thank you for all your years of care

Positive experience: Overall the practice is great for pediatric patients. They do take great care and are professional. This office is professional, ethical, and communicative, and we had a positive experience overall. However, I would strongly encourage families with borderline extraction cases to get multiple orthodontic opinions before deciding on treatment. In our case, we chose a non-extraction approach after being warned that flaring could occur. Unfortunately, the flaring became much more significant than we anticipated by the end of treatment. While the doctor did discuss this risk upfront and stands by the work and his treatment plan with extraction palate expansion was not an option in his professional opinion. We personally wish there had been more discussion during treatment as the severity became clearer. The orthodontist has offered retreatment at no additional cost using the approach he believes is clinically appropriate: extractions and traditional braces. We appreciate that offer and his professionalism. However, it is important for families to understand that this provider does not use certain alternative treatment approaches, including extraction cases with Invisalign or IPR. For more complex crowding cases, I would recommend getting second and third opinions so you fully understand the potential tradeoffs of extraction vs. non-extraction treatment before beginning braces especially if other space creating techniques are not available such as palate expansion. It’s not a criticism it just reflects the treatment approach and philosophy combined with lessons learned from gathering more information with complex cases.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old was very skeptical of the whole process but the Dentist, the tech and all staff were extremely friendly and made him feel very comfortable.

My son is typically nervous at the dentist and Dr. Krausz makes him feel comfortable and calm. If we have an issue he makes time to see my son on the same day. Highly recommend him as a dentist!

Their ability to not only keep my children calm and comfortable but to also leave them begging to go back to the dentist is like nothing I have ever seen in other pediatric practices. Fantastic experience: My daughter had an emergency visit with Dr. Houshmand, and she was incredibly kind and gentle. The appointment went exceptionally smoothly—no pain, no anxiety. As a mom, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The office manager, Karen, was so helpful and even managed to book us an appointment on the same day! The dental assistant who worked with Dr. Houshmand was very calming and did a fantastic job as well. My heartfelt appreciation to everyone in that office!

Negative experience: I’ll preface this review by saying all of the hygienists and dentists are very, very nice - but this place is a factory. Typical of a practice run and owned by a larger organization/DSO (it’s not owned by a single dentist). They get you in and out and their priority is revenue over the patients. At a previous appointment, the Dr. recommended pulling a tooth. We didn’t jump on it immediately. While checking out, the patient next to us had just had his tooth pulled. After speaking with a few other parents from school, we found out that this was also recommended to them. Coincidence? Maybe. Just seems curious. We didn't end up doing it and the tooth came in just fine. This time our appointment was at 12:20. His cleaning was done at 12:32. The dentist had come and gone by 12:44. We were done by 12:47. Again, it's a bit hard to write this review because everyone we have run into there has been really nice, but it's pretty obvious how this practice operates - get them in and out in the shortest amount of time. A factory.

Fantastic experience: The center for pediatric dental is an amazing place to take your children. Clean, great staff, efficient front desk with super friendly and accommodating receptionists. The doctors are kind and extremely patient. We are incredibly pleased.

Fantastic experience: Really fabulous work by Dr. Kraus. It’s been difficult to get our child to sit still and brush at home, but somehow, Dr. Kraus easily managed to brush, inspect, and apply fluoride with little more than a few fidgets from our L.O. He has a very calming way about him — I just hope he doesn’t guide yoga classes because I’d be out like a light in minutes. We’ve since adopted a stricter brushing routine at home and it seems to be working! Many thanks for all that you guys do.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t realize it was possible for a 6 year old to enjoy the dentist even if he was getting a tooth pulled?!? I’m sorta glad his prior dentist moved and prompted us to find a new one.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been seeing the dentists and orthodontist at the CFPD for 12 years. The dentists are very gentle and empathetic. My daughter was a particularly anxious child with a very sensitive gag reflex and they saw her through a repair to cavity, extraction of adult teeth, numerous checkups, and X-rays without incident. I am grateful to Dr Taylor in orthodontics who was particularly patient with my daughter who developed from a child weary of dental care to one obsess with brushing and flossing.

Fantastic experience: We are in awe of our son's experience and could not recommend this dentist more. This was our 2.5 year-old's first time at the dentist. Typically, he is quite upset at the pediatrician's office and we expected the same (or worse) here. Dr Barton made the trip to the dentist a game, with half of the experience about caring for his teeth and half of the experience play. Our son had such a great time, that he incorporated the requisite post-visit mini toothpaste and toothbrush into his play in the afternoon. As parents, we feel that our son may actually come to enjoy trips to the dentist -- setting him up for positive associations for the rest of his life. Thank-you!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my kids to Children’s Dental Center for the past 15 years. The Dentist and hygienists are extremely personable and have always given my kids great care. Not only is the staff super friendly but the office is extremely clean.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brett Paredes and his team are the best!! They were so kind and attentive to my daughter. She had 4 teeth removed around 9 am and by 3 pm she felt completely normal and was ready to be active again!

Positive experience: We've been coming here for about 4 years. Dr. Barton and his tech Chao are absolutely amazing, they just filled a cavity for my 5 year old and it was like a carefully orchestrated ballet to complete the entire procedure in ten minutes! I really appreciate all the attention paid to making dental visits feel safe and welcoming for kids. My only complaint is the desk staff. I find them consistently curt and inflexible. Once I visited right after taking a new job with new dental insurance - because my brand new insurance wasn't already filed in their system at check out (I hadn't even received my new card yet), they insisted they would have to bill me rather than give it a few *hours* to get my new insurance into their systems. It creates a frustrating and combative vibe at a place that otherwise is so thoughtful about being approachable and comfortable. I'll keep coming because I adore hearing my daughter say she "loves" the dentist, but I wish they would think a bit more about the parent experience as they do the childrens'.

We have four kids from ages 6-13 and have done cleanings, teeth extractions, cavity fillings and have even used the service of the orthodontist team. From the office administration to hygienists to dental assistants, dentists and orthodontists I can say that they are all amazing! They are the most compassionate team that I have ever experienced in a medical practice. From the moment you walk in they put your kids at ease. They talk them through everything in such a loving and supportive way. If you are looking for a qualified dentist or orthodontist this is the practice for you and your kids!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter is on the autism spectrum and has major anxiety, and Dr. Barton is her dentist. I can't even begin to tell y'all how much we love him! He is simply AMAZING with her! Working with kids with special needs is truly his GIFT! I wish He was my dentist :) I really have no words to describe him, except to say that we are continuing to commute all the way from Framingham even after our move from Boston, just so that she can continue to see him, so that says it all. If you are looking for a dentist and your child has major anxiety or behavioral challenges, look no further, I promise you will not regret it :)

Fantastic experience: Today I brought my youngest in for her first ever dental visit. I was blown away by how fantastic she did and that is all thanks to Dr. Krausz and his team! We have been patients of the office for many years (with my oldest) so I knew we would be in great hands and although my little one loves to brush her teeth, she can be fussy when others try to help her ☺️ so the fact that Dr. Krausz was able to get his job done quickly and efficiently was amazing! He made the experience FUN, INTERACTIVE and very EXCITING! I could not have asked for a better visit! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Clancy is so good with my sensory sensitive child. He explains things thoroughly, is very kind and makes sure to communicate well with kids each step in a way that lets them feel safe. We have always been very impressed with the entire office and staff! We also had to cancel and reschedule a few times due to unforeseen circumstances and everyone was so accommodating and nice.

Fantastic experience: Have been going here since my kids were little. Extremely well-run, efficient and friendly office, in a very comfortable setting for both young kids and adolescents.

Negative experience: This place has no respect for patients and family. The dentist did the filling half way and when we change practice the new dentist pointed out the dark area below the supposed done-filling three months ago. The front desk staff are rude almost like racist. After reading the review regarding charging no show fee, I called three times to get in touch with the staff to cancel the appointments. They are in staff meeting from 1-3 pm. They recently got negative reviews on COVID protocol from physician mom's group. They did not mandate their staff to get vaccinated !?

Fantastic experience: Today, my daughter had the first visit to her dentist. She was nervous before we arrived. However, the doctors there made her relaxed and excited by giving her a sticker, and showing her the equipments before putting them into her mouth. The checking was gentle and fun. At the end, she had a chance to pick the toy she wanted. The visiting was really enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my three children here for five years (for both regular dentistry and orthodontics) and am always impressed by the kindness of the staff! Everyone is always so warm and accommodating and they always put my kids at ease. They truly understand their patients and parents.

Fantastic experience: I did not know going to a dentist with 2 toddlers can actually be a pleasant experience! It was our first time and I was so worried that my kids would freak out and it was going to be a stressful experience, so much that I bought back up for myself. It honestly felt like a little kid spa! The staff is uniformly PHENOMENAL, we had Lisa and Choa, both of whom were incredible. Dr. Barton was AMAZING. I can’t rave enough about our first dentist experience with kids! My kids were so comfortable and even laughed a little and were so excited about their stickers and toys. I cannot recommend them enough!
