Fantastic experience: I’m from Saratoga Springs, NY and had a temporary crown break off while I was in Boston on a Friday. I was able to make a same day emergency appointment with Dr Zhang and she was wonderful! She took care of my problem with great care and detail and saved my weekend! A wonderful practice. If I lived in Boston, this would be my dental group!

Fantastic experience: I am beyond pleased with my experience at Beacon Dental. I’ve dealt with a tooth that has chipped repeatedly over the past four years. As a student in Boston, I decided to have it fixed at Beacon Dental back in April. When it unexpectedly chipped again last week, they got me in for an appointment the same day I called and fixed it right away since the original work was still within the one-year period. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The entire experience was seamless, and I’m so grateful for how quickly they took care of me. 10/10 recommend Beacon Dental to anyone looking for a dentist in Boston!

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit at Beacon Dental today. I was able to get an appointment quickly and was favorably impressed with the dentist who clearly explained my options for the problem I was having. All the practice personnel were pleasant and efficient. I would highly recommend them based on my initial contact.

Negative experience: I'd give it zero stars if I could. The receptionist openly refused to return money owned to me, quite disrespectful, rude individual. Dr. Luan Zhang is an incompetent, unprofessional dentist that botched a simple filling procedure done by her, which exposed me to pain for weeks and finally to a root canal. I went to that office once and I hated it. Go there if you would like to be scammed by receptionist, and to be provided a less than mediocre dental job

Negative experience: This place is good for average dental checkups and cleanings but don’t go here for surgery. Had wisdom teeth removed here and had ensuing numbness. Was told to simply take vitamins and that it would go away eventually. Received no advice on recourse even after it was clear it wouldn’t get better, and am now seeking options to solve what is probably permanent nerve damage.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shen graduated from Harvard Dental School and took over his family business. He is very efficient and honest. He won’t push you to do unnecessary dental work. My dental hygienist is excellent and meticulous. I am going to switch to Beacon Dental Center for my future dental work.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shen did a tremendous job with my tooth extraction. Other than the shots to numb the area (which were only mildly painful), I experienced no pain during the procedure. I was very impressed with his ability to stitch up the area with a teeny tiny needle using forceps! I have sewn for years but I doubt that I could replicate that skill. The assistant and the front office receptionist were very kind and most helpful. I highly recommend Beacon Dental Center!

Fantastic experience: I agreed with my usual dentist's diagnosis that I needed an extraction, but the dentist they referred me to couldn't see me for 2-3 weeks, so I called and found Dr. Shen who did an excellent job within a week of diagnosis. No pain, little bleeding and he never broke a sweat!

I moved from Brighton to Somerville, but I still make my way across the river because I like my dentist and the entire office. Kathy at the front desk is always nice to talk to (and very knowledgable about insurance), and I love my hygienist, Susan, who is very careful and thorough. The office recently did some rebranding since Dr. Zhang's son (also a dentist) joined the team and it looks very nice and modern.
