Negative experience: This office has a great staff overall, and I’ve had good experiences in the past. However, during my visit yesterday, I had a negative experience with one of the assistants. She was short, wore a light green uniform, and had two braids. I tried to look for a name tag but didn’t see one on her. She came across as very rude and acted like she didn’t want to be at work. She did not help me schedule a follow-up appointment, and after the doctor left the room, she rushed through polishing my teeth. The service felt very fast and inattentive.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Dr Mohamed Kamel enough! Dr Kamel is the best dentist I’ve had in years. I recently tried multiple dentists, each only adding more problems and toothaches. Almost ready to give up on my dental health, I decided to try Dr. Kamel at WPD and give it one last shot. I scheduled my first visit as a routine cleaning and the practice was very inviting. During my first appointment we did a thorough exam where I was able to vent about my previous dental experiences. Dr. Kamel was very attentive listening to all my concerns. I appreciated how gentle Dr. Kamel was during the evaluation process. On completion of my examination we decided that I needed a root canal and an implant but I was very hesitant because of my past dental experiences. Dr. Kamel was able to explain the process in a very professional manner which gave me the reassurance to schedule the necessary procedure. I’m so glad I decided to go with the great advice given to me by Dr. Kamel! After years of prior bad experiences at other practices and tons of pain and discomfort, my experience with Dr. Kamel at Washington Park Dental has finally left me happy and dental pain free ever since. Thank you Dr. Kamel!

Fantastic experience: Warm staff, and a very attentive dentist that did a thorough job on my tooth that’s on its last legs. Previous dentist did not seem to do half as good on the same tooth. I felt taken care of and it has so far solved my pain and chewing issues. I actually cannot wait to get the rest dealt with which is odd for me.

Fantastic experience: I had horrible pain in my left side molar , I needed a root canal and I was so scared to get one didn’t know where to go & was recommended this dental practice. A worker named Thainas was able to book me same day, customer service skills were excellent! Dr. Li did my root canal and did an amazing job & was very patient with me since I was a bit nervous. Overall good experience and my tooth feels GREAT , no pain on my left ear. Definitely recommend this practice !

Negative experience: The office appears clean, and teeth cleanings are typically thorough and efficient. The front desk staff is generally friendly, though it often takes multiple calls to reach someone. If you request a manager or dentist to return your call, they usually do not. They also tend to ignore emails. It’s worth noting that flossing is not included unless specifically requested. On one occasion, a dental assistant pretended to floss some of my teeth, which I found disrespectful and unprofessional. While I understand flossing may not be standard practice, this should have been handled with more care. Expect long wait times before being seen. If X-rays are needed, the procedure may not be explained clearly, leaving you uncertain about what is happening. During one visit, I had questions for one of the dentists but wasn’t given the opportunity to ask them, as he left abruptly for the day. Dr. Kamel, though initially appearing friendly, made me feel uncomfortable during our interactions. On one occasion, he pressured me to answer a casual question in a way that felt more like interrogation than conversation. When I raised concerns during my last visit, my complaint was not handled appropriately. Dr. Kamel’s demeanor, including intimidating looks while I was speaking, made it difficult for me to feel heard or respected. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this office and will not be returning.
