Fantastic experience: I have always experienced severe anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, so making that initial call is never easy for me. I reached out to Dayton Dental Collaborative because I was having facial nerve pain, and from the very first interaction, I felt cared for. I spoke with Liberty, who was incredibly sweet, compassionate, and accommodating. She truly listened to my concerns and made sure I was scheduled as soon as possible due to the level of pain I was experiencing. At my appointment, I had the pleasure of working with Mel B, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She was absolutely spectacular, patient, calming, and so reassuring. She took the time to help ease my fears and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. Because of how amazing she is, I now ask for her every single time I come in. Her hospitality and kindness make a world of difference for someone like me who struggles with dental anxiety. Dr. Butler is phenomenal. She quickly identified the cause of my dental pain, took the necessary images, and ensured I was treated promptly to correct the issue. Her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine concern for my comfort truly stood out. During my second appointment to have my crown placed, I also had the pleasure of meeting Paige, who was just as phenomenal,kind, attentive, and supportive throughout the entire process. Every staff member I’ve encountered at Dayton Dental Collaborative has been awesome. What truly set this experience apart, though, was after my procedure this evening; Dr. Butler personally called me to check on how I was feeling and to let me know that if I had any questions or concerns, I could call her directly. That level of care is rare and speaks volumes. This is what excellent bedside manner looks like. This is how you take care of patients. I am beyond grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and genuine care shown by this entire team. Fantastic experience: I had three crowns put in over the course of one month. It was the most positive dental experience that I have ever had! Dr. Butler and Paige were both incredibly patient with my bad gag reflex. They explained the whole process before and during the procedures which was very reassuring. Fantastic experience: I’ve been to at least 5 dental practices throughout my life. The DDC was BY FAR the best in every way. Everything from the ambiance, customer service, dental work, professionalism, etc. was sensational. I’ll never go anywhere else. I live in Cincinnati and it is well worth the drive. I would even recommend other dentists and hygienists to book an appt there to see how their practice can improve. Paige and Dr Butler do amazing work!

Negative experience: Rudest front desk people. They give me the hardest time everytime I have to make an appointment on the phone. Just spoke to Morgan today and we were going through days and seeing which one worked best for me and she muttered "Oh my god" just cause that day didnt work for me. It was not quiet either, she clearly wanted me to hear it. This is after ive gotten into heated conversations with the other front desk girl about scheduling, because they sign me up for appointments that dont work for me and that I dont approve and then tell me that I always cancel. I didnt sign up for those dates. I so badly want to be done with this dental office but I cant because im working through my trays.

Fantastic experience: Dayton Dental Collaborative redefined my expectations for what I look for in prospective health care providers. The entire experience, one that I have put off for 5 years if that attests to how I feel about going to the dentist, was pleasant from my first foot in the door to exit. The staff were so kind and caring, they were informative starting at reception all the way to checkout. The hygienist I had, Melissa, was a top tier clinician and I have never been more impressed. She was comprehensive and really wanted me to be comfortable during some clearly uncomfortable tasks. Her professionalism was amazing, but she was also sincere and genuine, and extremely personable. When it was time for the dentist to see me, she managed to get the doctor with the most appropriate experience and expertise, though I was scheduled to meet with another dentist. Mr. Jensen was wicked smart and knew how to make my dental problems relatable and convey a level of understanding I haven’t experienced with many clinicians. It was important to them that I understood what they had learned from the data collected during the appointment, and that I was comfortable with next steps moving forward. They also did an incredible job of making me not feel at fault for my current dental issues. They reiterated numerous times that I have been doing a great job and the rest is genetics, which is super comforting. My experience with this office knocked it out of the park, and I have never been more pleasantly surprised by a doctors visit. 10/10!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a very bad dentist when I was younger and it traumatized me for going to the dentist. I only come to this location because of the wonderful Dr. Butler, she treats me like gold and is easy on my teeth. I have been knowing her for at least 7 years. There is also a nice polite hygenist named Christine. I had gone through a bad divocrce and just kept putting off the dentist because I was depressed and going to the dentist was not a priority with all of the other stresses I had going on in my life. Luckily, they did not judge me and put me on treatment plan to get me back on track. They are angels on the teeth and do their best to be gentle, which made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Butler and Christine, thank you for being so sweet and treating me with professionalism and empathy, you made me happy about going back to the dentist again, and I don't fear it! Luv ya guys!!!

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this place enough. I'm absolutely terrified of the dentist and everyone in this place is so nice! They do everything they can to make you comfortable! Had my wisdom teeth pulled and didn't feel a thing! Definitely recommend them for everything!

Negative experience: Very clean, modern practice and every interaction with the clinical team felt professional and courteous. Where the experience fell short was in billing transparency. When Dayton Dental Caliberative stopped accepting my insurance, I was told I’d “just need to pay a co-pay.” I assumed that meant the typical small co-pay—around $20. At checkout the co-pay was $500. That kind of surprise undermines trust: the office had the information to give me a realistic estimate up front but didn’t. Great dentistry; disappointing communication about costs. If you choose this office, be sure to get a detailed written estimate before treatment.

Fantastic experience: Simply the most enjoyable dental experience one could imagine. I received care here several years ago and I would actually classify it as a Dental Spa. Every moment is carefully curated to comfort and impeccable care. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I love my new dentist, Dr. Jensen, at Dayton Dental Collaborative. He knew I had a very traumatic experience with a previous dentist doing a crown. The previous dentist literally man-handled me, putting his full body weight on me trying to shove my crown on. To this day, it does not fit correctly. My temporary crown only lasted one day and when I called to say it fell out, they could’ve cared less and went without for 2 weeks! Dr. Jensen put ME in charge during my procedures (2 crowns), offered mild sedatives, and laughing gas. It has all gone very well, everyone in office was super professional and sweet. I have one last installation of the 2 permanent crowns and my anxiety is SO much better. PS - their main receptionist is one of the sweetest humans on the planet! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could give them more stars! I had some complications with my previous dentist that was causing me so much pain so I was recommended to come here to fix it and I'm so glad I did. They go above and beyond to make sure that I'm comfortable. I usually get anxious when going to the dentist but I don't feel that at all here. Everyone is super nice and welcoming and they're very genuine. The gentleman that did my root canal (I can't remember his name) did an amazing job and Dr. Butler and Paige did my crown and made sure everything was perfect which I appreciated very much. Fantastic experience: They make going to the dentist a delightful experience, as delightful as going to the dentist can be I don’t know too many Dentists these days that would call you the same day after having surgery or a crown and personally check to make sure you’re doing OK. Their personal touches make all the difference to how safe you feel in their hands. They truly do take the extras steps to be as perfect and welcoming as they can possibly be. Fantastic experience: I had a really bad dental experience that kept me from going back to the dentist for 6 years. My wife recommended DDC and I am so glad she did. I was a nervous wreck and probably acting like such a goof but everyone was so friendly. I didn’t feel judged at all. My hygienist, Song, showed me around and explained everything she was doing. They have the most sophisticated equipment I’ve ever seen. My comfort was their highest priority. This is the best dentist.

Fantastic experience: As the spouse of a retired dentist, I am very particular about my dental work and aware of the many substandard dental practitioners in the Dayton area. Dr. Shelhouse crafted a beautiful crown with perfect margins for me. The temporary crown, skillfully created by the amazing assistant Orlandice, was also lovely. The final crown was placed and fitted without difficulty by assistant Tia, both ensuring my comfort throughout the procedures. Not only is the office gorgeous, but the staff also goes above and beyond with their friendliness. I believe Dr. Shelhouse is one of the top dental talents in the area, continuously attending multiple workshops each year to stay updated with the latest innovations in dentistry. Fantastic experience: They honestly had the BEST service, and I’m so glad they have Spanish speaking employees. More places should have more bilingual people but sadly the don’t. My husband needed an emergency appointment and they had a same day available spot open. He doesn’t speak much English so having someone who could communicate with him in Spanish was amazing, for once my husband was able to go into the appointment without me having to translate. Anyways they have amazing customer service and amazing staff. Very helpful ! I recommended everyone coming here

Fantastic experience: If going to the dentist has ever worried or scared you, this is the place to go! Before I came here I was always terrified to go to the dentist. So much so I hadn't gone in 6 or 7 years. My wisdom teeth were coming in though, so I had to go somewhere. I chose Dayton Dental Collaborative, and I can not say enough good things! From the minute I walked in I was greeted with a smile and felt more at ease than at a traditional dentists office. Everything is clean and looks very pretty with all the large windows and natural light! Everyone here was so kind and lovely I almost questioned I was at a dentists office, since in the past at other dentists offices I had not been treated with that much kindness! I was shown around and then I started my appointment with one of the lovely ladies there. I hadn't been to the dentist in so long, but I was never ridiculed or told I didn't brush enough. They were very understanding of my circumstances and made me feel at ease during my visit. I was actually surprised I didn't hate my visit! So often we go to the dentist and they berate us on flossing and brushing and not coming in frequently enough; but here I was, someone who hadn't went in years, and was met with understanding and kindness. Funny enough, I actually like going to the dentist now! It's not some giant loathsome chore, it's a nice doctor's visit that I actually enjoy! I never thought I'd put "enjoy" and "doctors visit" in the same sentence, but Dayton Dental Collaborative has restored my faith in good dental practice. I recommend this place to everyone I meet, because so often we don't go to the dentist because we have anxiety over it. I know I did. This place has addressed all my dental needs, including wisdom teeth extraction (which, let me say, was a super easy and comfortable process with DDC). If you are on the fence at all about choosing this place for your dental needs, let me put that doubt to rest and say go there! You definitely will NOT regret it!

She was sooo sweet and helpful I can’t tell you enough how comfortable I felt right away! I was in so much pain and they were able to get me in the very next day where other places seemed to care less that I was even in pain!

Fantastic experience: Very accommodating and quick with procedures! Knowledgeable staff and a friendly atmosphere to the place. Doesn't feel like most dentistry's where the looming of fear hangs in the air. I had 5 fillings to due which I called and told them I was gonna be late, they still managed to get the whole thing done even with the time crunch painlessly and efficiently. Positive experience: I no longer go here but my 14 year old does. I was “kicked out” of the practice because I was late or missed a couple of appointments. Upon choosing them as my preferred dentist I told them I was a hospice nurse and due to the nature of my job sometimes I had issues with not being able to leave work despite having preset appointments. “Should not be a problem “ they said. During the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 we were all struggling- Nurse is out sick patients dying more and Nurse is just not coming back out of fear because of the virus. It was around this time that I was missing appointments or was going to be late And was subsequently asked not to come back. Additionally, they put a note on my chart that I saw that I was some type of drug seeker because I asked for a refill of pain medication after having 6 teeth removed! This is the only provider or service I frequented, be they medical or personal services, that treated me as if I were less than desirable as a client. All others since 2020 have continued to honor their “not a problem” policy in regards to the special nursing- shortage/life or death predicaments that is the now the norm of my profession. Additionally, if you don’t have hundreds of dollars to pay on the day of your visit, expect to also be treated like a loser- “Condescending Barbie” included. Me:”So Dr, you’re telling me that his tooth has to be taken care of right away. It is in a very dangerous situation for my dental health as well as possibly my medical health”. Them: “Yes, that’s right”. Me: “Can I pay over 6 months as I’m a single mom whose ex- husband doesn’t support his child”. Them: “We can do 3 months”. Me: “So I will save all I can the next 3 months and then come back and do the balance in 3 month payments I can afford ok? But that will delay this very important procedure that you said was dire!” Them :”You will need to work that out with one of our Barbies up front”. Speaking of finances, I should add- after I was forced to find another dental provider I found out that they were overcharging for the same services.over and above industry and insurance values! I gotta take a guess and say that is because they have to keep up their precocious and pretentious aesthetics. So, yes, I allow my child to go there because she likes it and my mom helps take her and helps cover the costs. But for me- I’ll stick to the “no frills, fair fees, and above average care and service I get at the dentist and his staff down the road! (Imam)

Fantastic experience: All of the dentists, hygienists, and support staff are so nice and gentle dentistry is provided. They make the experience so calming and so comfortable. Unfortunately they do not take Medicare supplemental insurance, so even though I would prefer to stay with DDC, I will have to find a dentist who takes my insurance.

Positive experience: Very clean. Very relaxing and spa- like atmosphere. Superb dental hygienists. Great office staff. The only drawback is that the dentists rotate very frequently into and out of this practice. We saw at least seven different dentists in our seven or eight years at the practice. Great place, but if you want to establish a relationship with one dentist, this is not the place. The structure is more of a hospital-like environment, where you interact with the hospitalist or on-call doctor, and your main point of contact will be with the staff, not the dentist. Therefore, if you have more complex care needs, you may feel more comfortable at a different practice with consistent staffing.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this dental practice! They hit it out of the park on every front. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Everyone on staff is very friendly and personable. They make payment easy and straightforward. Everything they do is customer oriented. But most importantly, their work is great! Many people don't like the dentist because they are afraid it will be painful and the dentist doesn't care or try to minimize pain. This isn't the case here. They always care about minimizing pain, and always seek to make sure the patient is comfortable. There isn't one negative thing I can think of with this practice. They set the standard on what a dental practice should look like.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited the DDC to begin my Invisalign treatment. I give them a 5/5 stars. All the girls upfront are SO helpful, very friendly, and greet with you the biggest smile making you feel right at home. Dr. Shelhouse is TOP of the line. The effort & time I know he put into my treatment both behind the scenes and during my appointment is amazing. Finally, Chelsea spent over an hour with me during my first appointment! She is amazing at what she does. I recommend them to all family & friends! : )

Fantastic experience: I had two teeth extractions and a cleaning today. The staff was incredibly helpful and skilled. Dr. Nelson gave me step by step info on what he was doing as he numbed the areas for extraction. He answered my questions with concise and descriptive information. The entire extraction process was not painful. I experienced a few pokes in the numbing process. I highly recommend Dayton Dental Collaborative to children, youth and adults. Fantastic experience: I’m not big on dental visits, but this had to be one of my faves. I’m new to the Ohio area and would constantly drive pass the office when taking care of my daily routines. I was always curious about what it would be like on the inside. Long story short- I was able to make an appt... The staff was super courteous, the office was next level.. Super clean and organized, it’s like walking into a spa. I’m also a technology buff, so I loved the fact the office was very tech savvy, with all up to date equipment. I had my teeth cleaned which was great! But the camera wand allowed me to see my teeth from a whole different perspective, I could see each tooth right on the big screen. Anyway I def recommend this place... It’s an absolute must if you are looking for a new dentist. One other thing that is a plus it’s a one stop shop. You can see a dentist, orthodontist, and oral surgeon all in one place. Ok enough praise lol but this place is awesome!!! Def won my business

I've had several bad experiences with dental visits through the years, and was NOT looking forward to today's appointment. EVERY staff member at Dayton Dental Collaborative was kind, welcoming, and took their time with me. Everyone was so nice, and my experience was so relaxing and calm, I almost fell asleep! I'm actually excited about my next appointment to begin correcting my oral problems.

Fantastic experience: Everything about this place is great. From the nice building, to the friendly staff and great hygienists and Dentists. I recently had a root canal done and although this type of service is never “pleasant”, each and everything was explained to me along the way and they would stop and make sure I was good before continuing on with the procedure. They explained the pictures and X-rays to me so that I knew what I was looking at. Also, during the procedure, he was teaching the hygienist as he went along. He engaged her interest with enthusiasm and shared his knowledge with her and I felt that was amazing. I even received a call from the dentist himself the next morning to see how I was feeling after the procedure. If I could give six stars I would.

Fantastic experience: This building is unique, and has an amazing air purifying system. The interior is beautiful, and fresh, and I felt totally comfortable being there. Dr. Shempp has been my dentist for many, many years, and has joined the team there, for which I'm really glad, because I really like the practice, and his expertise! The staff is very kind and professional. I'd recommend everyone to come back and get your dental work done. I had a cleaning, a filling, and a crown fixed, and it all went very well.

Fantastic experience: Hygienist was great! She was knowledgeable and able to gently clean my teeth ( no gouged gums). She was also pleasant to talk to. The dentist was friendly and answered all of my questions. Best of all they didn't try to convince me that I needed to replace all my existing fillings that are not bothering me & have no decay like my previous dentist did. Our dental hygienists (Amy, Mel B & Felicia) we’re gentle and explained every procedure in detail prior to doing it.
