Fantastic experience: I had been putting off a tooth extraction for a long time and finally scheduled it. The doctor was very personable and friendly and efficient. The tooth was extracted in just a couple of minutes and with absolutely no pain. What a great dentist

Negative experience: I had been a patient at Premier Dental of Oakwood since first moving to the area about 5 years ago. I wanted to like them for their convenient location; however, I have consistently seen the quality of care decline. From bad advice to long wait times in the lobby to improper dental work to not feeling as if I had any agency. Most recently, after following the dental practice's advice, I learned that another dentist in the same practice believed it was the wrong course of action, so I have to undergo another expensive procedure. I recently switched dentists and am astonished by how much better my experience has been there. Not all dental practices have to be this bad. I do appreciate the lobby's coziness, but that is the only positive thing about the place. I would not recommend.

Negative experience: They gave me a treatment plan for a crown, I pre-paid it (about $1000), then they billed me for an x-ray during the treatment, and said they'd report it on my credit and cancel all my appointments if I didn't pay it. The person telling me so is Krista L. Clawson, the office manager.

Fantastic experience: Had first consultation today. The exam, x-rays, photos and 3d digital reconstruction were all very impressive and tech forward, followed by a thorough gum exam at the level a periodontist would do, then a detailed consultation with the dentist Dr. Patel. The whole approach was thoughtful and analytical. I felt I received excellent and well considered advice. The office had a great vibe among staff. I also felt prices were reasonable for important professional medical services. I'm glad I discovered this office!

Negative experience: Dentists have expensive x-ray machines to pay off and as a result like to push patients into getting x-rayed. I have no objection to getting mine x-rayed if there is a legitimate medical reason for doing so. (Call me old-fashioned.) But I am not going to get x-rayed “just because.” At my previous dentist, I explained my position regarding x-rays, and on my first two appointments, the hygienists cleaned them without making a fuss. Then I got a hygienist who said that she wouldn’t go near my mouth unless I got x-rays...so I walked out. And switched to Premier. On my first two trips to Premier, the hygienists were fine with me not getting x-rays, but then I encountered one who tried to push them on me. When I pushed back, they said that although they were willing to clean my teeth this time, I would need x-rays in the future. And when I was checking out, they asked me to sign a waiver that relieved them of any harm I might have caused myself by not getting x-rayed, which I gladly did. The question: Why do dentists insist on playing such games? They make what should seem like a health care visit feel instead like a visit to a used-car dealer. Very unprofessional! UPDATE: My Premier dentist subsequently "fired me" for questioning her judgment. My new dentist is Dayton Comprehensive Dentistry. The difference between them and Premier is the difference between day and night! They are vastly more professional, and they aren't located in a run-down old house. Oh, and they are accepting new patients. If you are looking for a dentist, maybe give them a try?

Fantastic experience: My first time at this dental office and loved it! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I made an emergency appointment for a toothache and they had me in the exam room in literally 60 seconds. I didn't even have to sit in the waiting room. Highly recommend this office!

Fantastic experience: I called to see if they took my insurance and they said yes and gave me an appointment the next day . I have been told with other dentist February is the earliest they have. They were all very friendly and understanding of my needs I will give them a 10/10 experience they are truly a life saver. I had a broken tooth and was in extreme pain but they got me in quickly and was able to give me medication to help with my pain until I return back to them for my further dental work!

Fantastic experience: It was my first visit today and this place is most convenient and closest to my college. Upon walking in, there was no one at the front desk, so i waited for about 15 minutes until i saw a face. After 2 years of having no dental treatment because of my transition from staying with my parents, to foster care, to being on my own. They greeted me nicely after getting the insurance information i still have which i got a picture of from my mother about a year ago. The insurance worked. I got sent back for x-rays and they even fit me in for a cleaning. Nothing hurt and everyone here made me feel comfortable! This is alot coming from an 18 year old who is just now understanding the world of being on his own. There is so much diversity here. Black (the woman who did my x-rays) , asian (the guy who cleaned me teeth) indian (the female doctor who spoke with me after my x-rays), and the front desk people who appeared to be Caucasian. Pointing out the ethnic backgrounds of every professional isn’t meant to seem racist or anything like that, but regardless or how this building is a little smaller than my last dental office, they treat you with care. Im looking forward to my second appointment, Thanks Dr Pattel, the guy who cleaned my teeth (i think his name started with N…- it’s a blur) and everyone else here :D -Dalen M

Negative experience: I called to get a receipt for the pricing of my broken teeth and the lady that called back was so rude she wouldn't let me speak shes hung up on me before and was yelling at me the whole time when all I asked for was the pricing of how much my teeth would cost.

Fantastic experience: 10/10, the ladies in this office were so kinda and explained everything so well. I’m one with a small fear of dentists and they put me at ease. My fiancé was in the waiting room as I was getting x-rays and she said the ladies were going back and forth saying “We listen and we don’t judge”. I’ve never felt more as ease than in that moment.

I had fillings done. Her and the nurse worked well together to have it be as least painful and fast and effective as possible.

Positive experience: Premiere Dental of Oakwood is an outstanding, customer-focused dental service! I’ve worked with them for more than 3 years and they’ll always do their best to accommodate the patient and their dental needs. For example, about a year ago, I lost a cap on one of my upper front teeth and, due to a pending business meeting, needed some quick dental attention - the office found some time with the dentist and “saved the day!”. Fantastic experience: I love this dental office and have been coming for over 2 years now. It’s small, intimate, but I feel like I’m thoroughly evaluated and the staff there (especially Cassie, Faith, Dr. Patel) make you laugh/smile every time. You can tell they enjoy working together and have a good rapport. Somehow scheduling via text got messed up, but they still managed to squeeze me in on time. I appreciate what they do everyday!

Fantastic experience: I had to switch dentists due to my previous one retiring - Premier Dental of Oakwood was able to get me as a new patient no problem. Everyone in the office is super friendly and it made the experience that much better. Cassie, Faith, and Dr. Patel were the ones that assisted with my cleaning and it was super thorough, they updated me every step of the way, and checked in as well to make sure I was comfortable. 11/10! Negative experience: Changed plans at last second. Despite having done the x rays about one week before. Waited til I took a vacation day from work and showed up for my appt to let me know this. Miss Patel is the dentist to avoid don't know if it was lack of experience or if I was being scammed right from the start. Will not suggest her services to anyone even people I don't know or ones I don't like.

They got me in quickly with a dental emergency and provided with me contacts for an endodontic which saved me a lot of headache. The receptionists and techs are also kind and patient. Fantastic experience: Let me start by saying I have severe dental anxiety. I have hated the dentist as long as I can remember. When I had tooth pain for two days straight I knew something was wrong. I called and spoke to a very kind and helpful lady on the phone and booked a same day appointment. I went and Dr. Ria was so nice and explained everything to a level I could understand. She broke everything down for me and explained every single detail she told to her hygienist so I didn’t feel left out of the conversation. This practice has restored so much of my hope back about my teeth. I’m still afraid of the dentist but I believe the people in this practice will take the very best care of me possible.

Fantastic experience: Premier Dental is the best dentist office I have ever been to. Dr. Patel is so gentle, kind, and makes you feel good about being there, never shamed or nervous… along with awesome bedside manner, she is an excellent doctor who has addressed all of my dental concerns with thorough, and well-translated information. When I was unable to see Dr. Patel because of a last minute, painful toothache, Dr. Holland stepped in and was beyond helpful! The hygienists and techs are TOP TOP notch, also! Like, know how to get things done without hurting you in the process. The office manager, Brittany, and the rest of the front desk staff is the life-blood of this place. They make booking/rescheduling/asking questions so so easy. I’m able to text them to set up appointments or even just to ask a question! They are so professional AND kind… and have never made me feel like I’m a burden (which has been a long-lived experience with lots of office staff and/or receptionists in the medical field). You can tell that staffing this office with exceptional professionals is a priority. Every - single - interaction with the Premier Dental team has left me truly grateful that I found a dentist that I’m not afraid to visit… not even exaggerating when I say that I look forward to my appointments now, hah! Oh, and they’re great with kids (: I’ve had to bring my 4year old and they pull out all the stops to make her feel comfortable while I’m in the chair. Again, thanks Premier team! You guys should be very proud of the work you do (:
