Positive experience: No one acknowledged us coming in. 2 people at both desks. No one saying we will be right with you. Having issue with the sign in and one admin is too busy talking to older patient about things not pertaining to his appointment. We needed help and Sat there waiting. Other guy at other desk acted like I wasn’t standing in front of him. Sat down and still no help even when older patient walked away. He wouldn’t even look at us. Front desk girl wouldn’t explain form needed signing and attitude

Positive experience: This was my first time here going. At first I was super anxious and my blood pressure was so high when it came to checking it. I have what’s called white coat syndrome. I went there with tooth pain to find out it is a root canal. Nothing was done for it but praying the next time I go back there and get more things done I will be more relaxed. Just wish they would have scheduled me to get a root canal done but I think that’s being done at another place. Over all they were nice to me just wish I wasn’t so nervous.

Fantastic experience: Great service as soon as you walk thru the door. The girls in reception are kind and very courtesy. And inside the dental office every thing was great.

Negative experience: I started off thinking Smile Time might be okay. They schedule appointments easily and seat you quickly. But that’s the only positive. Every single appointment I booked got rescheduled, often just days before. They constantly push expensive out-of-pocket add-ons your insurance won’t cover, like a $40 “oral cancer screening” on the first visit and a $200 Cervitec treatment during cleanings. When they submit for authorization, they include these extras, so everything gets denied and you’re rescheduled again. Need fillings? They’re backed up over a year, expect to do all the insurance legwork yourself, and they even told me I’d have to switch insurance to be seen sooner. Overall, it was a horrible experience. After I confronted them, they dropped me as a patient. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else

Fantastic experience: The whole experience was good. No wait time, Dr Jack vary informative, doesn’t recommend anything other than what’s needed. Also scheduling, is in decent amount of time, doesn’t haven’t to wait months for your next appointment

Negative experience: If you need regular cleaning they will add a scam gel application that will cost you $100. That way your insurance won't cover it and you will pay it yourself. Big business not healthcare.

Fantastic experience: Smile Time Dental was outstanding and very sensitive to my sister and her care. Everyone from the front office to the xrays, dental assistant, dentist and meeting with Juan to schedule her next exam were amazing. They were all extremely busy but they took the time to care for their patients. I highly recommend this facility. Thank you all. Toni & Crissy

Fantastic experience: This has been the best experience I've ever had at a dentist. I have a lot of anxiety regarding the dentist and because of that I neglected visiting. This of course only made my anxiety worse as the look of my teeth worsened. They are genuinely excited to help my teeth look as good as they can. There's no judgment here. Very personable staff. The only downside is they can be quite busy but despite this my vists have been very efficient. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: I've had 3 appointments with Smile Time and every time I've been told that they were sending a prescription for 2 medications. Specifically for antibiotics. Each time I have called the pharmacy they inform me they have only sent 1 prescription, so I call the office 4 separate times. 4 days and finally went into the pharmacy AGAIN today. Called the office back AGAIN today. NOW I'm at the office again. I had to tell them I'm NOT leaving till this is resolved. WHY do I need to come into thr office and call 4 times. Take off work battle holiday traffic and wait AGAIN??? Especially when the office has told me they sent it. Now I had to tell them to call the pharmacy to make sure they receive before I leave. Her response - I know youre upset. My response - No, I was upset the 2nd time. Im beyond upset or even mad that I need to physically drive yo the location and refuse to leave until I hear the pharmacy tell them that it is ready and available for pick-up. Are there any good dentist that I can actually receive a response from, without having to get to boiling point. I'm usually an extremely an understanding and forgiving person but.... at this point I DONT even want to come back after I've had 3 appointments been in 4 times, called 4 times and only thing is this.

Fantastic experience: Marlene was fabulous with my teeth whightening!!! She explained through the whole process. Answered all my questions. I was a bit nervous and she took the time to calm me. She even brought me a blanket to keep warm and comfy.

Negative experience: We called in advance to confirm and were told that the visit would be free and fully covered by the insurance. When we arrived for the appointment, we were informed on site that the insurance does not cover the service and that payment would be required. We were not prepared for this and declined the visit. After that, we were marked as having missed the appointment, even though we did arrive, and were placed on a blacklist, which resulted in being denied the ability to use their services.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had three appointments with Dr. Jason Chou for fillings and every visit went really well. He’s kind, gentle, soft spoken, and really listens, which made a huge difference for my anxiety. My fillings look great and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The assistants and front desk staff have also been solid. As long as you fill out your online paperwork ahead of time, the check in feels smooth. Their online scheduling system is convenient too, which I appreciate. Only downsides are that some appointment times book out a few months because they stay busy, and the call center can be a little hard to understand at times. But overall, the care and quality definitely make it worth it. Highly recommend Dr. Jason!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Nada Alani. She was incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to clearly explain how to care for my teeth at home especially how to use the Waterpik properly. Her instructions were easy to follow and very helpful. Nada also did an excellent job cleaning my teeth; she was gentle, thorough, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend her!

Negative experience: I called 2 hours before an appointment while I was in the ER as a courtesy. I had to cancel very last minute, which is unfortunate. Bleeding out takes priority over dentistry. I thought I was being nice seeing as they always cancel appointments on me and my partner all the time because they are very busy. I was told they would not take me as a client anymore because this was my second cancelation. :((( I was in the ER man. I must have had 20 appointments here over the last few years. People are nice there though. It's got a very corporate, see-as-many-customers-as-possible vibe. There's a bajillion little exam rooms and a bajillion employees shuffling around hastily in the back. The quality of care varies a bit, but I always felt taken care of. I imagine most of the clientele are quite poor like me, so their options are limited for dentistry. Just dont miss those appointments man.

Fantastic experience: I came to visit Smile Dental today, and they gave me very good services. All staffs work in the front desk were so helpful. They explained everything so clearly. One girl gave me Xray she were so nice and sweet. Another girl was helping the doctor so nice too. The doctor was good and nice too. Thank you so much . 5 stars all the way ✨️

Fantastic experience: They are all very friendly and lots of smiles on their faces. They are very pleasant and there are more than one welcoming you. When you're ready to leave, there's a couple more that will tell you to have a good day.

Negative experience: This place is very unprofessional. For 6 months I made appointments. I had 4 appointments and they didn't do anything. Absolutely, nothing. In 6 months, not a filling, not a cleaning, not a root canal. Just made appointment after appointment, took some x-rays came back, took more pictures. Nothing for 6 months as my tooth rotted out. I switched insurance and dentist and had my tooth fixed within a week.

Negative experience: I arrived early to a scheduled appointment and still waited over 30 minutes to be taken back to fill cavities they said I had (I never had any issues, pain, etc, with the teeth in question). There was absolutely no communication from staff during the procedure, except for the assistant struggling in the beginning and telling me she was sorry, this was her first time doing this. After failed lidocaine injections, I cried out in pain during the filling, to which the dentist said I shouldn’t be able to feel anything. I received another injection, after which I felt the lidocaine pool in the back of my mouth, and still felt pain during the haphazard procedure. Again, no communication as to what they were doing during the entire procedure or what I should expect. The first filling attempt failed, and the dentist proceeded to remove all the work and start again from scratch. This process lasted 2 hours, and most of my face was numb for 6 hours afterwards, but not where the pain in my mouth was. I never had issues with these teeth before, and was left with extreme pain, sensitivity, and the inability to eat on that entire side of my mouth for months. I have since had to get root canals done on these teeth (at a different dentist!) because this procedure was done so poorly, costing me hundreds for what should have been a simple procedure to begin with. I highly recommend avoiding this business at all costs.

Negative experience: I had an awful experience at this clinic. The staff was incredibly rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional. When I first visited, I was told I needed to fix my tooth, even though I had no issues with it prior to my visit. Now, two weeks later, I can’t even eat properly because of the pain. What made matters worse was the lack of expertise from the staff. They had someone under 20 years old take X-rays of my tooth, and after six attempts, they still couldn't get it right. Eventually, someone else had to step in to redo the X-rays. It felt like they were just interested in taking my money and rushing me through the process without providing proper care or service. I won't be coming back, and I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting this place.

Positive experience: Smiling Dental needs to improve their scheduling. On a consistent basis the front office has called me to change my appointment. When I call back after 10mins. The appointment is gone, and no notes on the attempted call to reschedule for the different employee that answers the call. If they have no Intention of holding the offered appointment don’t say to call back. Say sorry, since you were unavailable to take the call we will give the appointment to another patient… Don’t waste the patient time, please.

Fantastic experience: Brenda and Alice dental assistants did so awesome today for my teeth cleaning. Very friendly staff. I’m usually really nervous for dental appointments but they were made the session very comfortable and relaxing for me. Will defining be coming back!

Negative experience: This company nickel and dimes you every chance they get. They will not give you a cleaning unless you have had x rays in the same year, even if you do not want the x-rays because of fear of radiation exposure. They charge you for fluoride treatment even though it is actually covered by insurance. And if you choose to get a new dentist, they actually charge you a fee to send a copy of your (digital) x-rays to you. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because this office is 1,000 times better than the Stockton Blvd office in Elk Grove.

Isabella was my nurse and she was so amazing help me through everything when I have a dry throat and was so terrified to get a tooth pulled. The dentist was capable fast and tried to help me as much as he could I really appreciate the front office staff as well they are so professional and got me in an emergency visit. Negative experience: I’ve had multiple bad experiences at this dentist. They always seem to be overbooked and late. I’ve never had a dentist start my cleaning, then take me back out to the waiting room to wait for the exam… usually you stay in your room and do both the cleaning and exam, correct? This wasn’t even the worst thing though. The biggest problem I’ve noticed in my 4 years of going here is their horrible communication, not just with the patients, but with each other. I’ve had multiple dentists ask their assistant for a tool during a filling and the assistant just had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. Meanwhile I’m just sitting there while they go back and forth trying to figure out what the heck they need. Very unprofessional and very embarrassing. The absolute worst experience I had was being told I have fillings and need to get them done in 2 appointments. After the 2nd appointment, the receptionist told me I she would schedule a third appointment to finish my fillings. I was confused because I was never told by the dentist that I had more fillings to do, or that he was unable to finish the ones we had planned on. I asked her what the reasoning was for this third appointment and she said she wasn’t sure… she “guesses that the dentist ran out of time to do all the fillings”. I’m sorry but how do you not know… how has the dentist not explained to either his receptionist or me that not all my fillings were completed? I don’t even know if I was charged for more fillings than I had done? There was absolutely 0 communication from my dentist and the receptionist was absolutely clueless. By far the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. Avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: 2024 Update 3 years later: WORST CUSTOMER AND DESK SERVICE. The dentist Alix is great, but the representatives for the Smile Time/Make A Smile company that Dr. Alix works for is what keeps their business low-rated. Went to a real dental office that doesn’t push unnecessary treatments or give attitude. An office that doesn’t schedule wrong appointments when the patient signed papers for something else. So tired of that! Won’t be back!!! I sign my forms the day that the appointment is made. There should be nothing else for me to sign when I arrive. The call center does shady things and the front desk people are rude as hell. They wouldn’t talk their talk outside the work environment. Only thing protecting these employees from a beat down. UPDATE/AFTER: The office informed me that they have a system to where you are not connected with an office rep at your specific location every time. If your office doesn’t pick up the phone, it goes to whatever rep is available since they have multiple sites in different cities. Margo doesn’t work for the Citrus Heights office. Carolina apologized for the phone rep’s behavior. BEFORE: I really wanted to go here. All of my appointments were scheduled, and the most important one has to be rescheduled because one of the dentists cannot make it to the office at that time. That is understandable. The clerk told me I couldn’t be seen until April. It is February and I have lesser dental appointments at that same office in April. I told her that the dentist and dental assistant of the office informed me that the rescheduled appointment is the work that I need to have done before my other work. They told me as soon as possible, that’s why I had it scheduled for this week. I asked if there were any other dentists in the building besides the two mentioned because the office manager told me a couple of days ago that there were many dentists at their office. MARGO, whoever that is, had an attitude and told me I can reassign myself to another office and that I had to call my insurance. She didn’t say those exact words. She said it more rudely before even checking for other dentists. That’s extremely rude to just jump the gun and tell a client to reassign themselves somewhere else. I was telling her what the dentists and dental assistants told me, and she had the nerve to tell me to go elsewhere. I am on my way to the office right now to tell them to cancel everything and to give me my X-rays so I can go somewhere else. Customer service is THAT important. Start speaking to people correctly over the phone. You’re supposed to be helping them, not giving attitude and hindering them.

Fantastic experience: Had Tay do my cleaning and Brenda did my polishing and they were both fantastic. Highly recommend. Excellent facility and staff.

Negative experience: This dental office may be good for kids but I have seen the quality of Smile Time Dental (STD) go down over the past few years. On my last visit i was told that I needed a crown and several fillings among other things, I went and got a second opinion by a dental professional with 30+ years of experience and he didn't even mention the crown, or the fillings. When I told him that they recommended these things, he STILL didn't think it was even necessary. I have no pain and no sensitivity! His gum exam was also very thorough, it wasn't rushed like the one they gave me. I won't ever come back here. Rather than encourage patients to brush better, they just push treatments that you don't need.

Negative experience: Don’t go there. They will do crown if you need just a filler, they will do filler if you need just a polish. They have put infection in my daughters tooth and now they want to remove almost healthy tooth. Unprofessional group of people Editing: After leaving my review I got a call from the Smile Time Dental saying that they have dismissed me from all appointments. That’s how they solve issues. Stay away!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Smile Time Dental. They are so patient orientated. They make sure you are taken care of and understand the procedures so well. Today I went in for sealant and after leaving I noticed that my bite was a little off. I went back to the office and they took time (Brianna is the best) to get me in the back for an adjustment no questions asked. Dr. Anwar and the staff is so kind I really am so happy I found Smile Time.
