Negative experience: Unnecessarily recommending deep cleaning and higher out of pocket!

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient here for almost 2 years and always stayed on top of my dental health with biannual checkups and extra visits for any discomfort. Everything would be fine until you need any treatment. During my visit six months ago, I was given zero warning about my gums. Suddenly, at my latest checkup, I was told my back teeth gum pockets jumped from 4–5mm to 8–9mm, which is a massive leap that makes no clinical sense for a six-month window Instead of following standard protocol by re-evaluating my gums after a deep cleaning, they immediately pressured me into signing a $5,000 payment plan on the spot for gum surgery. When I checked with my insurance later, they confirmed my maximum out-of-pocket cost should only be $1,750 and noted that the office should have submitted a pre-authorization first. A second opinion from another dentist revealed this office also improperly charged me a $270 deep cleaning fee that my insurance fully covers. This practice prioritizes money over patient care, ignores standard treatment protocols, and overcharges. Save yourself the stress and financial headache, go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: The people are professional and caring, the place is super clean and comfortable, they made the procedure stress free, the staff and service are top rated. Especially Erika, she heard us and cared about our concerns, found solutions, advised us clearly and helped us plan. She gave us peace of mind. Also she enthusiastically shared the organization values and vision and how the CEO and staff care about the holistic approach to health beyond dental. This is the right dentist for everyone.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful first experience at this dental office. My father was visiting me from India and needed an urgent dental consultation. Dr. Shin was extremely kind, patient, and thorough, taking the time to examine him carefully and answer all our questions. We were especially impressed by the care and attention provided during the complimentary first visit. The receptionist was also very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making the entire process smooth and comfortable for us. We truly appreciate the team’s professionalism, kindness, and generosity and would highly recommend this practice!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. My first and only visit was not a good experience, and unfortunately, things only got worse afterward. Today, I called because I received an email saying I was being charged for something I never requested or authorized. Instead of helping me professionally, the person who answered the phone was very rude and dismissive. When I explained that I needed to cancel the charge, they spoke to me disrespectfully, said they would take care of it, and then abruptly hung up on me. Customer service is just as important as the dental care itself, and this experience left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. I would not recommend this office based on my experience.

Negative experience: Terrible dental office. Told my husband his dental work was covered by insurance, told him what he would owe, then weeks later tried telling him he owed WAY more than what they originally said! I also got quoted an INSANE amount of money for dental work that needed done, I ended up getting a second opinion and turns out i was able to get all my work done for literally 1/3 of the cost. They also scheduled me with a doctor that was not fully credentialed without telling me and now I randomly owe more money? Not ok!! Zero communication at this office, no wonder they rotate through so many employees. Very money hungry, and do not actually run your insurance or care enough to make sure they are doing it right. Billing here is extremely fishy. They seem to use the excuse “new employees” every time I call also, just take accountability! Not to mention, my cleaning here took 15 minutes…I’ve never experienced a more rushed, uncaring environment!! Do not go here.

Fantastic experience: Azle is an absolute doll and a breath of fresh air! From the moment I met her, she was kind, patient, and gentle. She took the time to ask questions about my oral hygiene as well as me personally, which made me feel like she genuinely wanted to get to know me as a patient so she could provide the best possible care. She even complimented me on my teeth and their condition, which was very encouraging. Honestly, it was one of the easiest and most comfortable dental appointments I've ever had. I truly appreciate the care and attention she provided, and I look forward to seeing her again at my next visit. Thank you, Azle, for such a positive experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with Dentists of Mill Creek. I scheduled an appointment because of their advertised new patient special: dental exam, X-rays, and cleaning for $59. However, after arriving and before receiving the cleaning, I was informed that in order to qualify for the $59 promotion, I would first need to pay an additional $119 fee to join one of their membership plans. At no point during my phone call to schedule the appointment was I informed about this extra charge. If I had known the true cost beforehand, I would have made a different decision. When I explained that this information should have been disclosed when I booked the appointment, the receptionist simply said that there were new employees and that they failed to mention it. While I understand mistakes happen, that is not the customer’s responsibility. I drove an hour to get there, only to find out the advertised price was not actually available without paying additional fees. What makes this even more concerning is that when I left and looked at their large sign outside, it clearly advertised an exam, X-rays, and cleaning for $59. There was no mention of a required $119 membership fee, no asterisk, and no disclaimer. In my opinion, this is misleading advertising. As a result, I wasted hours of driving time and left without receiving the cleaning I came for. What was advertised as a $59 visit would have actually cost nearly $200 after the membership fee and taxes. I expected transparency and professionalism, but unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal done at Dentist of Mill Creek, it was the best dental experience of my life. Zero discomfort and zero pain. The whole procedure took 30 minutes. Very thankful to the team @ Dentists of Mill Creek.

Negative experience: Questionable billing practises and excessively high costs for a basic cleaning. Seems this dentist wants to extract every dollar from insurance providers. “Oral hygiene instructions” billed at 88 dollars when none were given. Deep cleaning lasted only 20 minutes and rushed. I would really urge anyone looking for a new dentist to look elsewhere. The worst dentist we’ve been to in all of Washington.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in a while so I was pretty nervous to visit, but it was honestly a wonderful experience. The lady at the front desk was amazing! She had such an upbeat and professional attitude, from the moment I stepped inside I felt welcomed. They were very upfront about each possible out of pocket charge at every step of the way. My dentist is awesome. He made sure to tell me what he was doing so I was never surprised. There was no pain during my cleaning, and I didn't ever feel judged. The assistant who did my X-Rays was also wonderful. She made sure to be super quick so that I wasn't uncomfortable. Update! I've been going here for a couple of years, had a few teeth removed for my braces, and they've always been super awesome! The staff are amazing. Most recently I was helped by Damauis (Damavis?) and she was incredible! The appointments are always quick and painless, and somehow, they always manage to accommodate my weird schedule.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for several years and everyone from the receptionists, to the dental assistants, to the Drs have all been wonderful. Dr Shin is usually the Dr I see and he is great. People here are caring, honest, and always friendly. They never try to sell you anything you don't need :).

Fantastic experience: The new patient deal is very affordable, even more so than paying for dental insurance. They also have a great dental membership plan you can sign up for. Overall treatment was great, easy. Lots of good technology for checking mouth health. Additional services were offered to me like laser cleaning and flouride, but didn't feel pressured and turned them down easily, as I didn't want any additional cost at my visit.

Unlike other places I've been to, I didn't feel like this was a dentistry all about finding things wrong so they could bring you back in to make more money with more dental work. Fantastic experience: Dear Sr. Management of Dentists of Mill Creek, My husband Kevin E. doesn't have a google account but he wanted me pass this to your dental company. My name is Kevin E., my previous dental care office was with Hues Dental Group, located in Everett. I am writing to you because I had an emergency situation with one of my wisdom teeth. The tooth was loose and I was in severe pain. On a scale 1-10 the pain was a 9/10 level, making it so difficult to think. Hues Dental was not able to help nor did they have any compassion or empathy of my situation. I was treated like a number by them, telling me I had to wait till next week, and unresponsive to call me back. This was on a Thursday. There is no way I would have been able wait that long to have this dental issue taken care. I decided I would drive around and find a dental care provider that deserved my business and a place that showed empathy and genuinely cared for its customers by doing the right thing. I ended up going 4 dental care providers and each could care less. I was very disappointed. But then I found Dentists of Mill Creek. Wow, I was greeted professionally by Blair and Elizabeth, they understood my pain and situation. They went and talked to Dr. Koh and came to report that she would see me. It was a WOW kind of moment; I felt that I was going to have some relief finally. I filled out paperwork and provided all required details to the receptionist, they made my experience fun and easy. Thank you, I needed that. I then sat in a chair waiting for Dr. Koh to see me, didn't even have to wait 5 minutes, when Ms. Sam, Dr. Koh's dental assistant came out, called my name and took me to the room and took the required X-rays. Sam told Dr. Koh would talk to me soon. Two minutes later Dr. Koh came in and told me what was going on with my tooth. I told her about my pain and she prescribed meds to start the treatment, I then got an appointment for early on Friday. I would like to thank the staff for their professionalism and providing the adequate support , in particular Dr. Koh for her making time for my individual crisis and for being a life saver. I can report that my tooth ache has been resolved, and my customer experience was excellent end to end. Dr. Koh was a true professional as were the entire staff. I can report I will no longer be going to Hues Dental and your organization has now gained a new customer in me. My next visit will be next week. I came in with a massive infection and was in terrible pain, and they took such incredible care of me. Dr. Choudhry was thorough, kind, and clearly very skilled. Fantastic experience: I have been visiting the Dentist of Mill Creek for four years now, and I have not had a bad experience yet! The Operations Manager, Blair, is absolutely the best! When I first started coming to this office, her presence and welcoming smile made me feel safe and relaxed, which is important since going to the dentist can be a bit scary. I have had both general teeth cleanings and deep cleanings with all of the doctors at this office, and they are all gentle and professional. The entire staff and dental assistants are very gentle and welcoming as well. I have recommended this dental office to many of my family and friends because of how great it is! Thank you, Dentist of Mill Creek, for always making me feel comfortable and welcomed!

Negative experience: I went for a regular cleaning and Dr Ashley said I had a cavity and urge me to book an appointment. It was until I was under local anesthesia that she said it was not a cavity but a “replacement” of a previous cavity fixed. I wasn’t sure what to do in the moment but she went on on justifying the procedure. I now have excruciating pain in that area, the material was put in a lax way leaving larger material at the top and creating a gap at the bottom. Furthermore, this is the second time they’ve given me the wrong answer. I went because I had pain and they said took molars out, when getting a second opinion they told (within the first 5 seconds after explaining the pain) that I was grinding hard during the night and that was the reason of my pain. I am about to find another Dentist to fix the filling.

Fantastic experience: New patient here. My anxiety and irrational fear of the dentist were non existent at this office! They were so kind and understanding and patient with me. And made me laugh and i got a goodie bag, which i love! Loved my experience!

Fantastic experience: I was very comfortable with Dr. Shin which is major because I haven’t had regular visits to a dentist. I appreciated his compassionate way of delivering some sensitive news about how to get back on track with my dental care. Also, my dental hygienist was very pleasant and personable. I don’t recall her name but she is a Latina lady. Edit: I’ve been seeing Dr. Shin for three years. Recently, I’ve noticed that as I’ve aged, a large gap has opened on my lower bottom row. For some reason, I thought my only option was to remove the front four teeth in the row and get a bridge. So, I set an appointment with Dr. Shin. I told him what I planned to do and he politely said,“I don’t believe that’s the best idea. My suggestion for you is to get braces to close the gap.” Then, he proceeded to explain that the reason why he’s not closing it with a method like bonding is because it would look unnatural. I really appreciate his honesty and willingness to suggest the best course of action for me instead only being concerned with making money. He’s a great dentist that cares about his patients. Also, the front desk lady, Blair, is wonderful & knowledgeable. She’s always willing to answer my long-winded questions about billing and insurance coverage. Overall, I continue to have a pleasant experience even though I’ve historically dreaded having dental work done.

Negative experience: They said they took my insurance and still billed me in full... I called because I had gotten a letter in the mail and a phone call from some spam number saying that I was late on a payment. When I arrived the first time, they told me they took my insurance, but then right before they did the work on my teeth, they told me that even though they take my insurance. They still need to bill me for the full session, "just in case." When I called, the receptionist asked me for my name, phone#, and DOB. I gave it all to her, and she began to ask me questions I didn't know the answer to. When I asked her what I owed so I could make any payments and how much the insurance actually covered, she got short with me. I asked her why she was being rude, and she said that I wasn't answering her questions. When I reminded her that I tried but that I couldn't because I didn't remember the dates, she out right refused to help me. Becoming more rude. I started to become frustrated. At this point, I wasn't hiding it. She then told me to call back on Monday to talk to the manager. I asked if she was telling me that because she didn't truly know or understand how to help me. She then said that she could actually see everything on the screen, but because I was "Gaslighting" her that she wouldn't help me. I have never in my life had someone say I was Gaslighting them. So now I have to waste my time and call back on my work day and hope that someone can give me a straight and honest answer. Won't be doing business here again.

Negative experience: A full crown was recommended to me, and so in April 2023 I went in for the restoration procedure. Dr. Shin told me a full crown would be installed, and I was billed for that full crown. In the follow-up visits I informed Dr. Shin that the crown felt wrong in texture and in contouring. After unsuccessful attempts to fix the crown's contours, he recommended a bridge. So then I sought a second opinion from two other doctors. It was confirmed that not only was I given an onlay crown (though billed for full crown) one other dentist advised that the width and contouring of the crown were less than optimal, and that the crown needs to be redone to be corrected. In continuing discussion of amending billing statements/insurance codes and discussing reimbursement. resolution is yet to be reached as I await their confirmation of agreement

Fantastic experience: I broke a crown over the Labor Day weekend - I was originally told it would be a week before I could get an appointment for a replacement, but since I was experiencing some pain, the staff was able to schedule me for some temporary treatment in only two days. I was expecting to get a temporary crown, with an expected return for the permanent replacement the following week as originally planned. After arrival, I was seen by Dr. Koh, and she was gracious enough to shuffle and juggle her previously scheduled patients in order to fit me with the permanent crown on this initial visit. She worked very hard to accommodate me, and I am grateful that I was able to get this taken care of in one visit instead of two. Dr. Koh and the entire staff were friendly and very helpful throughout my visit. It was pleasant and refreshing to know that there are still professionals who will go out of their way to help you when you need assistance. I know a trip to the dentist might not excite most people, and it is not one of my favorite activities, but these people make it as pleasant as it can be. If you need dental work, do not hesitate to come here - I highly recommend them - 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks for taking care of me

Fantastic experience: I don't love the dentist like many people. I had a lot of anxiety about going in, being judged about my teeth and was very stressed about the overall experience. I am so glad that I found this office and more specifically Dr. Koh and her assistant Sam. They made me feel comfortable, safe and truly created a judgement free zone. My trip was bookended by Nicky at the front desk. She made understanding my insurance a breeze and laid out the financial details to a T. If you're stressed about the dentist come here! I will recommend this office to anyone who asks.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at the office has been very nice and helpful. I am a new patient I felt comfortable very quickly. I had pain when I walked in and I was much more comfortable when I walked out. Dentist Ashley Koh explained my treatment plan and showed me what was needed. She knows her job and is skilled. Fantastic experience: Got examined here at this office, the staff were incredibly professional and very kind, they were super informative and were amazing at delivering a concise prognosis. One staff member, Nikki, walked me through the entire plan of action and was even kind enough to share some of her own experience with me. Overall this office made me feel very well cared-for. Fantastic experience: The most high tech and comfortable dentistry experience I've ever had. The staff is always so kind and welcoming. I had Dr. Habashy and he was very comforting and human! I will 100% ask for him again and will always recommend this office to anyone I know looking for a dentist. I've even moved up to Marysville since I've started coming here and will make the commute because this office is worth it.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing and organized. From the appointment reminders to easy online check in - they respect your time and gets you in and out of your appointment. Today was my first visit, I felt heard and respected here from the front staff to the clinical staff. A big shout out to Dr. Habashy, who is a gem here! He was so kind and caring. He addressed all my concerns and even went above and beyond. I usually get nervous sitting in the dentist's chair, but with his excellent bedside manner and gentle dental cleaning - I came out of the clinic happy, satisfied and hence, fully motivated to write up this review. I have a lot of fear and trauma when it comes to dentists and dental work, but the doctors and entire staff made me feel very comfortable, understood, and safe! Fantastic experience: Staff was extremely kind, Dr. Habashy was fast and efficient, and was very welcoming. I got 3 fillings done in just 45 minutes (and it didn't feel rushed), and have absolutely no problems from it. Prices were great, and staff was very nice. I've been coming here for a few months and have had 0 issues!

Negative experience: I hate to do this, but care has gone dramatically downhill over the last year or so. Previously I was so impressed with my cleanings, crowns and Dr. Shin's service, but he seems to be busy and stressed. Distracted or just annoyed at his patients. Two cleanings ago my lip was suctioned repeatedly to the point of severe blisters. He was busy chatting and didn't seem to notice he was suctioning my lip right in front. It was incredibly painful. After someone helping from another clinic came to finish my cleaning and the machine broke. Water spilled everywhere, and she never finished rinsing the polish or cleaning my teeth. I let that visit slide because my experience had always been so great! No pressure for floride, cleanings by the dentist and great office service. When the Eric (think that was his name left) it changed dramatically. I returned and was told I needed a crown for a very broken tooth due to grinding. They said if I didn't get it done immediately I would lose it or need a root canal and I was very concerned. I couldn't afford it now that the cost had doubled (even though my coverage increased) but they worked with me to take pmts. I was thankful as a single mama but imagine my surprise when I arrived and they work on a completely different tooth! What the actual... I didn't even know what to say and it was too late to change. The tooth they did was one that had needed a crown for dang near a decade, but it hadn't negatively progressed and it was just something we were watching. The correct tooth never got taken care of and at my next cleaning, yes I returned like an idiot. No one said a dang thing about that tooth even though it was much worse now. I was so rushed that I didn't even feel like I had time to say anything about pain or what was happening or mention the fact I had pain for over 6 months after the last crown. I went from feeling so safe here to being miserable. Billing practices feel shady and my family experienced bills for services they didn't receive like flouride and a lack of concern when it was given without consent to a patient who doesn't use it and cannot have it. Get back to your roots and you can turn this around! I will be hard pressed to find somewhere I feel safe going or like the way I used to love it here, but I guess it is what it is.

Negative experience: Extremely pushy dentists office. They schedule appts without your permission and hound you to come back. Not to mention the hygienist was extremely rough with my gums, and I had sores for a week. They told me I need my wisdom teeth removed. Gave me a bunch of referrals and tried to get me to schedule with a surgeon by telling me he's really booked up and I need to get this done asap. No other dentist has said that I need to get my wisdom teeth removed.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Koh is so sweet and understanding! She made me feel comfortable and had open communication about processes/procedures so I felt well taken care of. Looking forward to seeing her for all my checkup and treatment needs!

Fantastic experience: My daughter had some tooth pain from an outgoing baby tooth. They got us in within a half-hour!! Dr. Ashley Koh did an AMAZING job calming down my adorable little hypochondriac (she’s 12…and lets her imagination get the best of her). While completely distracting my kiddo, Dr. Koh pulled the baby tooth out with her fingers and that was that!! Great job by everyone there, and super friendly, too!! Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jacob did my mom's cleaning today. Oh boy, did he do a good job with her. He kept the right conversation as he focused on my mom. By far, my mom said this was her best cleaning, not just the work Dr. Jacob did, but more of how he made her feel. Thank you, Dr. Jacob.

Fantastic experience: Had pain in wisdom tooth. My last experience with having a tooth extracted was awful. Went in for emergency treatment. I was greeted with kindness by Jess and her awesome colleagues. I admit that I really thought the experience was going to be better super painful so I prepared myself. Dr. Shin gave me ample anesthetic and as I was preparing for the pain he raised my chair up and said I’m done. I’ve neglected to take care of my teeth. This is my go to spot from now on.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and they got me in for a visit immediately and persevered until they had identified the problem and started the work to fix it. Their use of technology is impressive! I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Jessica provided an excellent initiation experience with appointments and a very clear view on my insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs. Dr. Koh and Dr. Habashy were absolutely fantastic in terms of information provided, the procedures performed and keeping me comfortable during the procedures.

Negative experience: Do not go here if you expect to be treated well ! I called in advance to make sure this clinic would accept cash payments, I was told yes they do. When it came to setting up treatments I was shamed for having to pay out of pocket instead of insurance. What ?!? I made an apt with Ashley Koh DDS, I was seen by a male dentist. I was told I would receive an exam, x-rays and a cleaning for $59. Then I was denied that cleaning and was told I needed to pay $800 for a "deep cleaning". Another lie told to me! I was then sat in a back room and waited for 40 minutes, no one came in to the room I had to go find someone to ask if I was forgotten. Then told to wait more and a doctor would come see me, I waited another 20 minutes and ended up walking out!! No cleaning was done at all. I pay in cash for all of my services! Hair, nails, Dr visits, car, dining, dentist ect... I will find another Dentist that will treat me with decency and will be happy to accept my cash payments !!

Negative experience: I don’t leave reviews often and especially poor reviews but I am quite disappointed with my experience at this dentist. I went in to establish care and I was told that I needed 2 inlays, a filling and a night guard for teeth grinding. I never grinded my teeth nor have any of my previous dentists said that I had. I thought it was interesting that I would need that kind of work when I just had fillings done in the last year so there was no concern for ever needing that kind of work done, since those previous fillings I took very good care of my teeth and expected maybe needing one filling done but to them that was not the case. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn’t cover inlays or night guard and I was quoted over $1,000 out of pocket. I work in Dental myself and got an opinion from the dentist I work under and another elder dentist who had much more experience than the doctor that I saw at dentists of mill creek. They both said I only needed 1 filling on the same tooth and the other teeth were fine. So I highly recommend going somewhere else because they will lie and tell you that you need work on teeth that don’t even have cavities to get extra money out of you. Very unprofessional to practice that way. Save yourself the headache. I also had to ask 3 times for them to send me my X-rays. If you do come here, get a second opinion.

Fantastic experience: My fiance was seen today by Dr. Shin for emergency dental work and everyone we encountered was kind, informative and calming. Jessica and Aubrey greeted us both, were friendly and they answered all of our questions completely. The staff here is fabulous and we will be returning here for future dental care.

Negative experience: Do not go here! Appointments are incredibly long because the dentists are double or triple booked most days - a simple filling appointment can take up to 2 hours just because the dentists are busy attending to other patients in addition to you (I could literally see them going from room to room during my appointment). Most of the appointment time is wasted waiting for the dentist. The dentists and staff are also extremely pushy when it comes to treatment - definitely get a second opinion on whatever they say you "need" because they are only interested in getting the most money out of you. Also, check your insurance statements because they probably billed you for services that were not rendered hoping you didn't notice. Do not recommend.
