Positive experience: Rochelle and Dr. Castro were amazing. Unfortunately Dr. C is filling in, I wish she could continue to serve at this location. She is very easy to talk to and gave a clear understanding of what is needed. I was very comfortable with her exam results. Rochelle has been my hygienist for years. I am always pleased with the service I receive from her.

Negative experience: I have been trying to get partials for the top with only 5 teeth. I have been going through the process since December 2024. I have had to get re molded by 3 seperate people and still waiting. Haven't had this experience with any other dentist. Very disappointed in the procedures of this place. I can say that the staff is very nice and I enjoy the laughter and kindness from them.

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient here my entire life. But ever since Dr. Broussard left, the level of customer service has steadily declined. Too many times I’ve experienced issues with my billing & insurance. After cleanings, I got bills in the mail stating that I owe. Come to find out, the doctor that treated me was out of network and they failed to notify me, but then weeks later necessary paperwork goes through that makes them in network. It never had to be an issue if they had just handled their business like they were supposed to. They were constantly confusing me with my brother which almost lead to issues if I didn’t point out their mistakes. Just recently I came in to get an issue fixed and they couldn’t get my insurance right. I don’t know what they were looking at but they had the wrong information until they actually did the smart thing and double checked, which proved that they were indeed wrong. The doctor tried to tell me I needed a crown but my new dentist just told me that all I needed was a new filling. So on top of the bad customer service, it was recommended that I have unnecessary work done. I should’ve left a long time ago.

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming. Professional. Knowledgeable and experienced in the field of Dentistry. The office staff as well as Dr. Castro were very empathetic toward my urgent need to see the Dentist. As a walk-in patient they treated me as if I had already been one of their regular, return clients. I feel blessed and thankful to have found Dr. Sharon Castro. She diagnosed and treated my dental issues right away. I have already referred her practice to close friends and family.

Positive experience: As a New Patient I've experienced a Warm Friendly Atmosphere. I came in for a few fillings, Dr accomodated me and did them all the same day.

Negative experience: Arrived for my tooth cleaning, and was told that insurance covered any x-rays, only find out it does not after already getting the procedure. And then they sent me on my way without getting a cleaning because they were too short staffed. If you want to actually get dental care take your teeth elsewhere.

Negative experience: I had multiple poor experiences at this location. My first temporary crown was snapped off without any numbing or warning…my eyes literally dilated. Also, I was never able to get my insurance to cover what I was told would be covered by the office staff. I had other issues as well, but I’m not going to spend any additional time or money on this dental office.

The staff is great and Rochelle the Hygienist did my recent cleaning and she was great❣️ Appreciate everyone being friendly, kind, efficient, and professional! Makes coming to their office a phenomenal experience July to August 2024: Office staff and Dr. Singh was phenomenal! I truly appreciate the attention to detail she showed with my crown prep and temp. Thank you to Vanessa also, she is awesome❣️

Fantastic experience: Everything went well. The doctor and her assistants were very professional and well-versed in what I needed. I don't look forward to having my wisdom teeth pulled, though. But, the doctor reassured me that even that would be okay. She gave me a referral and said have it done whenever I am ready. The vist was wonderful, as always.

Trenese was super helpful with explaining what I needed done, what my insurance covered, and breaking down my payment options. The Hygienist did a really good job with making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Shilpa's bedside manner is amazing, something every dentist should thrive to have.

Negative experience: I had been a patient at this office for many years, but the new staffing has driven me elsewhere. The attitudes of the new staff are poor; they are rude and grossly incompetent in the customer service side of patient care. When I asked to speak with an office manager after being hung up on TWICE when attempting to get a coinsurance quote for an upcoming procedure, I was denied, and no one offered to have them call me. Very disappointing that I had to find a new practice because my dental hygienist there, Rochelle, is absolutely amazing but unfortunately the lack of professionalism from the rest of the staff greatly outweighs the care that I receive from her. Also, their hours are abysmal if you work a full time job; no late nights (they used to have a late day for appointments), no Fridays and no weekends. Save yourself the headache and take your business and teeth elsewhere. I wish I could give them zero stars.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Tru family dental for sometime now. Dr Singh is the best, she always take the time to educate the patients about their hygiene. Her assistants Monique and Ashley always make me feel welcome coming into the office. I recommend this office as a good place to come get your dental work done.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Tru Family Dental-Southfield are extremely friendly, helpful and skilled! You can’t help but smile confidently that you’ll have a great experience.

Negative experience: Their front desk clerks will ask you to pay the amount of a dental cleaning before the billing of your insurance. Today was their third time doing this to me. I paid $68 before. Then. The fraud happened a second time (last fall). I contacted my insurance and saw where they did not bill my insurance for the fall cleaning. I had to message them on Facebook and leave voicemails for them to bill my insurance. Then, at today’s cleaning, they tried it again! Today, it was $93!!!! Now, $25 of that was for the fluoride that I pay out of pocket and expect that expense. It appears that they allegedly try to pocket the cash, then bill the insurance.

Positive experience: The Dentist was very kind, but I didn’t like the fact that they didn’t bother to tell me that they didn’t take my type of insurance until I got to their office, even though I gave them my insurance information a week before my appointment, so they had plenty of time to check and call me back to let me know that.

I had a deep teeth/gum cleaning by Vanessa the Hygienist and she was very gentle. I also had some teeth pulled by Dr. Ballani. He and his assistant for the day Marissa talked me through it all with great energy. I thank God for these people.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a lot of dentist and I thought I had good service but Dr. Mohammad Ballani ,DDS IS THE BEST EVER!!! Him and his team have GREAT bed side service, where I felt the doctor and his team is concerned about you as a patient. The office has beautiful windows and I was able to enjoy a beautiful scenery, while I was worked on. Dr. Ballani talked me though this oral surgery and that made me feel calm and more comfortable!! All I can say is if you need a dentist he is ready for you!!! Thank you Tru Family Dental for all you do in our community!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ballani did an amazing job during my visit which required multiple extractions. He took the time to explain the procedure, ensured that I was properly medicated before he began, talked with me as he worked, and gave me a good explanation of my follow up care. I experienced minimal discomfort and that was only during the numbing phase. The extractions themselves were surprisingly pain free. The staff was courteous and friendly. Very good experience

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dentist place I’ve been too! I’ve been coming here for years and never had any bad experiences. Today though I just felt it was EXCEPTIONAL! I have a bad phobia of the dentist and needed some work done. Originally, when I scheduled my appointment I guess I thought I was getting a root canal but really I needed an extraction. I busted in TEARS right in the middle of the office. Wanted to walk out. Walked to scream and just didn’t want to do it. The two young women at the first Shardae and Tanile told me straight up the truth of what I needed with COMPASSION! They were honest and really helped calm me done. I was a bit illogically wanting to walk away without getting the procedure done (I was scared). I let them know how scared I was (as if the tears didn’t show it lol) and they assured me it would be just fine! Now let’s get it MIA the Dental Assistant. I LOVE her. I had her the first time when I came to see what work I needed. She was there today again for my extraction. She is by far one of the best Dental Assistants ( they have all been good there too). She talked to me, calmed my nerves, explained what was going to happen and told me how good the doctor was and she trusted him. Mia was very warm and kind just like the other two ladies at the front! Exceptional MIA! Now let’s get to Dr. Ballani. I had a female doctor there before (she was amazing as well.. can’t remember her name) but Dr. Ballani was a GOD SEND. He explained every single thing he was doing. He was calm and understood my anxiety. He treated me like a human being with a lot of compassion. It is HARD having anxiety and a phobia of the dentist. It’s embarrassing and it can be overwhelming. Shardae, Tanile, Mia, and Dr. Ballani are the dream team! Thank you so much for making my experience a pleasant one!
