Fantastic experience: Great experience today. This was my first time at this location after having a very bad experience at the Dearborn location. Friendly atmosphere.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this location. Constantly rescheduling. I confirmed my appointment for today 2 days ago. Show up and told it’s no one here for my cleaning. This is the third time and unacceptable.

Positive experience: Nice Staff members and the Dentist explained everything before the treatment.

Fantastic experience: Our experience at Great Expressions was a good one. Unfortunately, they had to refer us to another Dentist because of my son’s special needs and circumstances. However that being said I feel like they were super friendly and I love that they sent us to someone better equipped for our son! Thank you for the referral we appreciate it!

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice and they explained everything to me including my out of pocket expense. Theybmade me as comfortable as possible for my procedure. My dental hygienist Debbie, was very attentive and kept asking was I okay and if I was comfortable. Over all it was a good experience. One suggestion is the place could use an upgrade to the lobby (new chairs, and some pictures) and the exam rooms need to be painted and the floors either need to cleaned or replaced. It looks a bit dirty and that is not a good look for a dental office.

Fantastic experience: The staff is Professional and efficient. From the front desk to the assistant. My Hygienist was thorough. The assistant Bre was excellent with X-rays. Dr. Preston was thorough as well.

Negative experience: Very disappointed,I had an appointment at 1 PM. I arrived and the reception staff welcomed me nicely, then took me to the consultation room. The dentist came in and said, “I’ll be back,” and left for 20 minutes. When he came back, he asked if I was there for a follow-up and a permanent filling. I said yes. Then he told me to wait again and left for another 30 minutes to see another patient, leaving me waiting. Finally, he came back, gave me anesthesia, handed me the suction tube and told me to hold it myself, then did the filling in less than 10 minutes. When I closed my mouth, I told him the filling was too high and touching my other tooth. He kept adjusting it and asking if it was still touching, and I kept saying yes. In the end, he said, “We’ll fix it next time,” and stopped. He didn’t even check my broken tooth. Instead, he started working on my front teeth while I was counting/biting to check the contact. He was working alone, holding the suction and moving it aggressively, and he even injured the inside of my mouth with that suction tube.

Negative experience: I wish I could give 0 stars. My appointment was at 2. I didn’t get seen until 2:45pm. And I didn’t leave the dental office until 4pm. That’s 2 hours to get a basic cleaning! That’s it. A simple cleaning. Staff very slow. No consideration for time. Dr. Preston wasn’t friendly, seemed very uninterested in his job and duties. Chairs were broken, walls were filthy! Please go to a different location!!!! Oak Park location is horrible.

Negative experience: I had a very concerning experience with this dentist. About three years ago, I was told that I had periodontal disease and that my teeth could not even be cleaned unless I first paid for a $700 treatment. I felt pressured and uncomfortable with the situation, so I decided to get a second opinion. The second dentist told me that I did not have periodontal disease at all. Instead, I only had gingivitis, which was resolved with a medicated mouthwash. That experience made me question the accuracy of the diagnosis I was given. I sent my 21-year-old son to the same dentist for an abscess shortly after my visit with the only Black Male doctor that worked there at the time. My son has never even had a cavity, yet he was told he would need a root canal on one of his front teeth to fix the issue. That recommendation seemed extremely aggressive, so we sought a second opinion before moving forward. Based on our experience(s), I strongly recommend that anyone get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive or major dental procedures here. Our experiences left us feeling like treatment recommendations may have been more aggressive and costly than necessary.

Fantastic experience: Had a great visit 10/13/25 for cleaning. Spoke with the dental assistant and hygienist and got clarification on a few questions. Spoke with Dr. Preston, fortunately no issues for him to take care of. The office, which is clean and orderly, is in a convenient location for me and the staff as usual, efficient. ...and things seemed to be going so well. Unfortunately today, 2-11-26, I received a call from GE saying the new dental hygienist is not available on Fridays, my scheduled appointment date is 2-13-26. GE is offering to reschedule me on 2-12-26, two days before my actual appointment. The next available appointments are in April. My current appointment was made on 10-13-25 why am I just now hearing from GE. Someone dropped the ball. I am so disappointed. I thought things were good at this location. GE reached out to offer an exam date which was good for me. Exam/appointment completed with no issues. All is well. There is peace in the valley again.

Negative experience: After being reschedule twice, the initial process was quick Bianca/Angelica and front desk were nice and efficient Then came the wait for the Dentist. After 30 mins of staring at a wall, He or She never showed up to give me feedback about the main reason I was there, my teeth, so I left. I didn't even get to find out if my Dentist was a man, woman, child, teen.. who knows. As a new patient, not a good start.

Negative experience: Just so you don’t waste your time. You have to call to confirm any appointment you make online. The texts they send don’t matter. Don’t know why they send confirming texts if they do not receive them but they cancelled my appointment on me without letting me know at all. I showed up to a cancelled appointment that I confirmed through texts that THEY SENT ME.

Negative experience: The Dr almost tore my lip, when I say he was so rude that is just the bottom the top, the money they expect you to spend is ridiculous, I hope they get a better Dr and they seem to have a problem answering the phone.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at this dentist office! After visiting another dentist who recommended removing my tooth, I came here and was able to preserve my tooth with a crown. The final result is wonderful—you can’t even tell it’s a crown! I’m so grateful for the care and expertise I received. Definitely a five-star rating!

Fantastic experience: GEDC/Oak Park is one of the best dental centers. Dr. Preston is top notch in the dental field. He's very knowledgeable, hard-working and personable. The office is very professional and clean. Their patients appear to be satisfied with their dental services. I'd highly recommend this facility to everyone!

Negative experience: Denture doesn't fit. Mouth sore after trying to eat. MUCH THICKER THAN PREVIOUS ONE. Will go back to see they can rectify/ fix it. If/ when they fix my lower denture I will not go back.☹️☹️☹️

Negative experience: This is one of the worst Dentist offices ever! They never answer their phones, the staff is always rude and uneducated they literally hire anybody stuck to a family practice like Dr. Kim Bradford in Southfield Mi they are the best!!

Negative experience: This was by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Khalil Preston was the most unprofessional and incompetent doctor I’ve ever encountered. He was dismissive, condescending, and completely unhelpful. I came in for an emergency appointment due to severe pain, but Dr. Preston initially refused to treat me even though I had already booked the appointment. He didn’t ask me any questions about my current medications, what care I had been giving myself, or what treatment I had already received from other dentists. He completely dismissed my concerns, rolled his eyes multiple times as I explained the severe pain I was in, and offered no solutions. It was only after I pressured him that he reluctantly treated the issue as the emergency it clearly was. He rushed through the entire procedure and failed to provide clear explanations about what he was doing or what aftercare was needed. I had to push him for basic information about the process. Midway through the procedure, he said he might need to send me elsewhere because he may not have enough anesthesia—after he had already cut my gums. When I asked how long that would take, he said I’d have to call around to book it myself. His answers were vague and unhelpful, and he even giggled during the conversation, which made me feel even more uneasy and dismissed. He left the room multiple times, and when I expressed that I felt uncomfortable with how rushed and careless he seemed, his only response was, “Can I proceed or no?” I was genuinely afraid during the procedure and deeply disappointed with the care I received. To make matters worse, he didn’t finish the procedure properly—he left part of my tooth in my mouth, meaning I now have to schedule a follow-up elsewhere to fix his mistakes. He also left blood all over my mouth, which was both unsanitary and horrifying. This experience was absolutely horrifying, and I will never return to this practice again. Dr. Preston’s dismissive behavior, lack of professionalism, and failure to provide basic care make it clear he doesn’t care about his patients. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this practice at all costs.the only reason I stayed is because I had a tooth that cracked down the middle, got an infection because of it and my nerve was exposing. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE! I went 6mos back, doctor told me I have 0 cavities LIES! I went to bright side dental a few weeks ago for an emergency extraction because my wisdom tooth was infected due to cavity that got super bad not to mention the 16 other cavities I had. HOW DID YOU GUYS NOT CATCH THIS?! Office was not updated and technology just seemed outdated as well. Please catch up with the times so you can actually do GOOD by your patients.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist didn’t do a thorough job with my cleaning. I have braces & I still have buildup around the lower front. They attempted to change me $25 for a bottle of Listerine when I just wanted a capful to swish. The filling that the filled 6 months ago fell out. Service is horrible & I am looking for a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: The Oak Park office of Great Expressions Dental is a great place with some very nice and very professional staff members. The dentist is a young man who attended U of D Mercy Dental School. He delivers care with skill and professionalism. Got my teeth cleaned there last month and absolutely loved the hygienist, wish I could remember her name but I can't. Had a partial done there that looks way better than I thought it was going to. Very happy with it. A minor issue with insurance coverage and billing. Staff member took matters into her hands to help solve what could have ended up being a problem because of my insurance company....so far so good. They are still accepting new patients so give a call.

Positive experience: The staff is pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, patient, and efficient. Dr. Preston is very easy going. IF I were afraid of dental visits, between his first line of diffusion, Alexis, and himself, I would forget I had any anxiety about visiting the dentist's office. From the waiting area to the treatment rooms, everything is clean and serene.

Negative experience: Called to schedule an appointment on 10/24/2023. Apppointment was scheduled for 11/29/2023. Waited a whole month to be told the day of my appointment that they were cancelling my appointment because no one was in there office and they could not provide another date. Was told that I needed to wait 2 days for someone to call to reschedule. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: This is the second time this Dentist had to call me on the day for my appointment to cancel because they don't have a dental hygienist! All within 2 weeks! Why are y'all even open?? Then the lady tried to reschedule for December 6th, but we don't even know when a hygienist will be in!! Now I see why this place have alot of negative views...

Negative experience: Office is unprofessional. Office manager, hygienist, assistant, and receptionist all arrived after me. Dentist unlocked the door at 2pm. Assistant did not speak or introduce herself. She pointed to the room for me to go in. I had to say excuse me so that she could actually give me a verbal direction. The hygienist was very rough I told her she was pressing the instrument on my gums, she apologized and continued with pressure. I had to correct her several times. The staff held a 20 minute conversation about LOL dolls, skates, fmla, vacation time, and the young lady who’s having a baby she’ll be eligible for fmla in October. I have been a patient at 6 locations for at least 20 years and this is by far the absolute worst. The dentist did not examine my gums calling out the numbers to the assistant. When the hygienist was cleaning my teeth she did not talk me through the process. This was not an efficient visit. I will not be returning. If I could give no stars I would.

Negative experience: They don’t even deserve one star!!! This is the absolute ghetto and unprofessional clinic I’ve been to north of 8 mile!!! Notorious for rescheduling your appointment and the dental hygienist has the nerve to leave when you’re 10 minutes late, but don’t mind you sitting for over 30 minutes waiting for them! They’ve run through so many different dental hygienist that it’s impossible to develop a rapport.Not to mention, they can use a fresh coat of paint on the walls and new floor tile! The exam rooms look dim and gloomy!!! I’m honestly surprised that they’re still open and the only reason why I continued to go to them was because they were across the street but I’ll never step foot in there again!!!!

Fantastic experience: The staff was so professional. Front desk lady did a great job checking me in and out. The Hygienist was so caring and patient. The Dentist was also helpful educating me on Gum disease and the maintenance of it. He was also understanding that I did not care to go back to a previous office. Due to the Periodontist service and communication.

Negative experience: A dentist here redid the composite bonding on my front tooth five years ago. My front teeth were straight prior to coming here. I feel like my smile was stolen from me. My retainers stopped fitting, so all of my teeth have shifted because of this dentist’s work. This is a cosmetic procedure so my current dentist will not redo this unless it rechips so I have just been stuck with a crooked set of front teeth for half a decade because of this practice. 0/10 do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great ppl supper nice and understanding first good experience at a dentist in a long time

Negative experience: Took my fiancé here. The doctor never gets back to you. My husband has two infections with no antibiotics. I’ve waited two weeks just for him to return my call. I let the desk clerk know and she told me that she can’t make the doctor call us back. (Huh???) I was forced to go to the Novi location and they helped us right away. Not only did they look at his tooth the same day but also put in a temporary AND medicine in 30 minutes for free. Even worse, Oak Park charged us $80 for X-Rays without even telling us. The other location told us we had a bill! (excuse me)!! And this was due to their lack of attention and concern for their patients. When you know better you do better. You don’t have to go weeks with infections begging the doctor to call you back. Please avoid this place if you care about your health.

Positive experience: I went back to dental Expression’s because my last dental procedure 10 years ago was quick I didn’t like the shape back then, but it lasted up until this point, fitting properly the first time however, this procedure is taking way too long. It’s been months the work that’s being done is not fitting properly. I asked for something to numb my gum before I had that injection I was given the injection, and the doctor went right into the procedure, not giving the medicine time to work, which is very uncomfortable, he’ll leave the area that I’m waiting in and go to another patient and then come back instead of completing the one you’re working with
