Fantastic experience: I moved to Redford a few years ago and was in need of a new dentist. I chose Sunrise Dental without being referred by anyone. It was the best choice I could have made. The staff is super friendly and professional. I just love Dr. Assad. He is very personable and puts my nerves at ease. I was nervous about having a tooth extracted but he and his assistant, I think her name is Dani, took great care of me. Negative experience: I’m truly at a loss every time I go there they say my co payment is one cost … the in two days they say o no it’ll b more even after the firstly time I asked I don’t want any procedure down unless you know how much my c- payment will be well they sis it again without any remorse… bare minimum customer care I’m actually looking for new dentist office!!
Levon, your frustrations are heard and we understand (all too well) how our patients’ insurance policies and coverages (not controlled or determined by Sunrise) can be tricky. Our intention is to be as transparent as possible when it comes to out-of-pocket financial obligations (“co-payments”) for all our patients. When patients are presented with a treatment plan, it is only an estimate. Insurances may pay more or less based upon this estimate. If a patient’s insurance company pays less than this estimate (as in your case), the patient shall be responsible for the shortage. This policy is outlined in our paperwork and presented to every patient of Sunrise. A process known as pre-determination (“Pre-D”) exists where proposed treatment can be sent in to determine what will be covered by your insurance company/benefits prior to commencing treatment. Obviously, this will delay treatment until the Pre-D has been received, however, it removes the co-pay uncertainty. It is our recollection that option was presented to you and we both agreed moving forward utilizing that option was the best and most desired course under the circumstances.
All Sunrise offices and its team members pride themselves on the quality and care we routinely deliver and believe your assertion of “bare minimum [patient] care” is misplaced. Although we are never happy to see a patient leave our practice(s), we desire each and every patient to be satisfied, even if that means they choose (as you indicated) to seek dental care elsewhere. Fantastic experience: I’ve been to their offices twice so far and might just make this my regular dentist. The staff are very nice, the hygienist is thorough and breaks down everything you need to know in an understandable way, and they’re not expensive (with insurance). I haven’t had a long wait either time I’ve been and there’s always someone else there, so I know they’re getting plenty of patients. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Called them to see if they accept Medicaid for my toddler grandchildren and they only accept Delta Dental medicaid for toddlers.
Hi DeAngelo. Your “1-star review” was quite a surprise to us. Most especially since we have never seen you or your grandchildren as patients. Sunrise knows and understands the frustration when attempting to locate a dentist that accepts and participates with a particular dental insurance plan. While Sunrise’s offices do participate with Delta Dental “Healthy Kids” dental plan, we unfortunately are not participating providers for other forms of Medicaid-supported dental plans for children in Michigan. Our lack of participation should not in any way be an indicator of the quality and care we have provided to the surrounding communities for the past 25+ years. We sincerely hope you located a dental office that will provide your grandchildren the quality of care they deserve. Should their insurance status change in the future, we are happy to welcome you and them back to our offices. Take Care!

Fantastic experience: I had not seen a dentist in over 12 years due to multiple bad experiences starting as a child. I suffered in silence for many years until I had no choice but to find a dentist to see. My first appointment, my anxiety was very high. The dentist and staff were so welcoming and friendly that I felt my anxiety become less and less at each subsequent appointment. I was so pleased and lucky to have found this place. I had extensive work done and they did a great job! I am not longer afraid to go to the dentist. I recommend them highly!

Negative experience: I cannot even give a star for this place, I have left this dental practitioner not professional, as not able to perform proper crowning on a couple teeth as a dental professional should be able to do, I should have sued them when I felt things were wrong, one crown fell off near immediately and their options were a joke and I could not go back to feel safe enough to continue, now a few years later the other crown fell off also. Worst experience since I was a child and dentistry was a joke and all kids hated dentists. I have gone back to a better dentist again in lathrup village, Signature Smiles! that is more high tech and capable of proper professional treatment. I posted a few years ago here and wanted to make sure to keep people informed of such sloppy work, since the only crown issues in my whole 40+ years of life are from this dentist on 6 mile, you may do cleanings or such but nothing major, I WARNED YOU! as they need to have a true record for reviews of how a dentist should actually have a 4+ 4.5 rating and nothing less unless you feel like a law suit.

Fantastic experience: I brought my grandson here for his very first dentist visit ever. Very nice office with very nice people working in it. He felt very comfortable throughout his visit. I'm glad we chose Sunrise Family Dental.
