Negative experience: This office cleaned my teeth (the dental assistant was nice; I noticed the chair rest was broken), took x-rays and afterwards the doctor looked and advised I needed a crown. I explained I had a lot of pain in my tooth as well but he didn't SAY or DO anything about that he just made an appointment for a month out for the crown . Not a week later I had an abscess and needed a root canal at another dental office as well as a future crown!!!! They also would not forward the x-rays that I paid for....not professional at all. Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend ANY Great Expressions for dental needs; this is the 2nd time with a bad experience.

Negative experience: Professional service as it relates to dental hygienists only. Beyond that very poor service and communication. Can’t rely on any timing or follow up.

Negative experience: First time seeing this doctor after ours left this office for private practice. It was a teeth cleaning & checkup for my daughter (9 yrs). First off, the exam room was filthy. About an inch of dust covering the bottom of the dental chair underneath. Countertops/sinks were very dirty too. Dr. Examined my daughter’s X-rays and made comments but never spoke directly to me even though I was sitting right there. When he was done he left and the assistant was about to lead me to the front desk. I asked if there was anything that needed to be discussed and she said (oh yeah, she has some cavities and needs fillings…) When exactly were they planning to tell me this, had I not asked? Then at checkout the guy said let me ask the Dr. if you need to schedule something. Instead of coming back to speak with me about my daughter’s treatment plan he sent the receptionist back to provide a printout, with zero explanation. He never even bothered to show me the X-rays as he was explaining things to his tech to take notes. Really poor experience and we will be changing dentists. Extremely unprofessional and dirty facility.

Negative experience: Terribly disappointed with the professionalism, communication and customer service from their front office staff. This locations run like a zoo in comparison to the others I've been to and I don't say that lightly. The only saving grace is the clinical staff including the dentist in oral hygienist are extremely professional and continue to be the only reason I've ever gone there but today's the last day.

Positive experience: Dental procedures are fine, but prepare for a lot of delays. Either in between appointments, which should generally be a week they will schedule you for a date after 3 weeks. Everytime you go there prepare to wait for an hour before a dentist comes to you. If you are taking time off prepare for that extra 1-2 hours

Negative experience: Do not go to this office. Always trying to reschedule later in the day appointments, constant staff changes and very unprofessional. Texted me about appointment ahead of time but waited until I arrived at the office for my appointment to tell me that they didn't have a record of my insurance. Now as I am voicing my concerns and dissatisfaction with this error which they keep blaming on employee who was there "yesterday" the office manager is sitting right there saying nothing. I asked for the manager to voice my concerns and then the lady simply points to him? How are you a manager and hear complaints right next to you with no attempt to help clear up the matter? This was the final straw for me I will be finding a professional dental office. If you like to have your appointment times constantly changed, no later afternoon availability, unprofessional staff, and wasted time then this is the dental office for you!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Diva Arvind finished my crown today by applying the permanent tooth in place. She did an excellent job!!! I’ve had crowns done by 2 other dentists over the years, and her technique was the best and much different than either of theirs. I even asked her where she went to dental school, and definitely not where they went. Besides her amazing skill, she is a genuinely nice and very kind person, very easy to talk to. I Highly recommend her!!

Negative experience: I had a really disappointing experience at Great Expressions. During my visit, the technician seemed inexperienced with the X-ray machine — it was shaking the whole time, and the trays were so uncomfortable that they actually cut my mouth. The hygienist never even looked inside my mouth, just glanced at the X-rays and immediately told me I had six cavities. My appointment was limited to one hour, which barely covered the X-rays and waiting time. Afterward, the receptionist told me I had to schedule a separate cleaning visit plus three more appointments for fillings (two at a time). When I looked over the bill, it didn’t match what my insurance outlined, and no one could give me a clear explanation. To make matters worse, I went to a different dentist afterward for a second opinion — and they confirmed that I only have one small cavity that doesn’t even need immediate attention. That really reinforced my frustration with Great Expressions and left me feeling like my trust had been taken advantage of. Overall, I left feeling like just another number rather than a patient. The whole process felt rushed and profit-driven, not focused on honest dental care or patient comfort. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this office to others. 0/10.

Negative experience: I would rate them 1 star, but they did introduce us to sealants, which my last dentist never did. Hence, the 2nd star, but that's only because they don't allow you 1/4 stars. Other than the sealants, I don't see anything redeeming about this place. Their office is not kept up. Their sign is missing letters in their own lobby. Pretty shabby. Dr. Arvind (the only dentist there) has communication issues. I only understood about 15% of what she was saying. She has a very thick accent and speaks extremely fast. I had to look things up on my phone when she left because I had more questions than answers. She's also very brusque. Also, they make you fill out a long, tedious form every single time you come in, even if you were there just three days before, like we were. Very frustrating. So give yourself extra time to fill out these forms...or just go somewhere else. I suggest Laurich, which is just a mile north. They are very up to date, and Dr. Munday (one of three dentists) has the best chair-side manner. Plus, they don't make you fill out forms every time you walk in. The dental hygienist will ask you questions, but not a long, stupid form every time you walk through the door.

Positive experience: Not going to lie, I feel a little frustrated following my visit here. I wanted to have a tooth looked at (I have a partially missing filling and wanted to make sure it was not infected) prior to seeing my primary dentist next week. Before scheduling my visit, I called to make sure my insurance would be accepted and that I wouldn’t be charged an arm and a leg for a short visit. I was told I “shouldn’t be charged more than $50, but that my out of pocket would likely be zero” and was assured I would receive a call back from them if they found out the amount would be more than $50 leading up to the appointment. I never got a call back, so I assumed everything would be good. The next day I went to the appointment. I was in and out in literally less than an hour. The total time I spent in chair/was being tended to by clinical staff/doc was less than 8 minutes. As I’m leaving, I’m told that now, my insurance is not covered, and the cost of visit is more than $150 (I don’t remember the exact price they told me, so I’m using $150 as the baseline because I know it was higher) After I explained to the staff the conversation I had the day prior, my bill was reduced to $79. I’m not one to fuss over $29.00, like it’s really not the end of the world. It’s the fact that I made the call ahead of time to make sure this type of thing would not happen, and it still did. I’m grateful all I needed was an x-ray, because I’m now asking myself, how big of a price gap would I have had to pay if I needed an urgent procedure done on the spot? Important side note: Following my visit I received a phone call saying they are now going to manually try billing my insurance and that I “might” be eligible for a refund, but it will take weeks to begin that process. My question is, why did I pay before insurance was even attempted to be billed? I don’t know, something just doesn’t sit right with me about the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this Great Expressions location for many years the staff is very professional and treat their patients with the utmost respect and care. 10/10.

Negative experience: Cleanliness should be a top priority at the dentist's office. That's not what we saw today. If you love licking door-knobs and whatever else staff touches with their gloves on before putting their now (and probably beforehand) dirty fingers in your mouth without changing their gloves, carry on. That's not a game I'm interested in playing. We were scheduled for a simple cleaning. While I waited outside the room so x-rays could be taken, I had a clear line of vision to the other rooms and the misfortune of seeing a total lapse in judgement and competence from the dentist and her assistant. You don't have to be standing at the back wall to witness all the breaks in proper procedure and protocol with maintaining a sanitary environment, you can see some of these fumbles from anywhere. Like the assistant seen leaving the room walking around with her gloves on, touching things, then re-entering the patient's room without changing her gloves. She shouldn't even leave the room with gloves on! That's no good for anyone, especially the patient if she's not changing them upon returning. Apparently, hand washing is too old-school for this location too. Or is it too new school? Either way, I didn't see any hand washing. The dentist was no better, she was touching things without the presence of mind to be sanitary about it, holding them in her gloved hands, poking around the plastic case(s) with her instrument, then putting it back in the drawer. She (the dentist) also let this other behavior go on right under her nose. But why not, she's apparently setting the example! As it turns out, the assistant trying to get x-rays for us was unable to get good angles, she was going to go get help and that's when I said thanks but no thanks. All we had accomplished thus far was getting seated, it was the perfect time to cancel and walkout. The manager (and anyone else that asked about it) understood perfectly well why we were leaving. The manager was grateful for the feedback and said she would addressb it, but I have almost zero confidence any meaningful changes will be made. They were way too comfortable, casual and seemingly set in their ways. Their bad habits with gloves and lack of proper sanitisation should never have had the chance to take hold. If they can't master something as simple as cleanliness and proper sanitizing, why would I trust them with my mouth and by extension, my overall health. Something as easy as changing gloves should not be overbooked. What else are they doing wrong? I'm not tryin' to get sick or exposed to HIV, Hep B or C when I come to the dentist for a cleaning or otherwise. Yikes, yuck and adios!

Negative experience: Extremely dissatisfied! We made a cleaning appointment for a new patient half year ago. Followed up about 2 weeks ago. All was good. Arrived at location waited 1.5 hours and in that time they did ONLY X-ray and examination. They said they will not clean today because there is no time left. Excuse me, we made an appointment HALF year ago for a CLEANING and if you know the new patient might take longer than usual why Don’t you schedule accordingly??? You don’t have time but we have time What the hell!!! And then they said the cleaning will cost about $500! Although with insurance it should cost 0. I clean my Teath regularly twice a year and there is definitely no need for “deep cleaning” for $500. It is very fishy and unprofessional. And I needed the cleaning for a special occasion for this coming weekend. They ruined it and did not even apologized for it. Anyway I will not go there any more. Very disappointed!!

Fantastic experience: Just had a 6 month cleaning today at Great Expressions in Farmington Hills. The staff may change. But they're still good people. The Hygienist is very thorough and doesnt rush! There's a new Dentist who's filling in for my regular one. tempo I dont remember her name. Shes very knowledgeable! I'm hoping she stays so the office can have 2 great Dentist's!!

Negative experience: Dr. D is the worst doctor I’ve been to. She only want you to get what she wants ants you have for her treatment plan even if you don’t have insurance to cover the cost. You don’t understand what she is saying and rushed my appointment. She also did my treatment plan without talking to me first. Sound like she is about money then the care and concerns of what the patient wants.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. I had my first visit here. I hate going to the dentist and after my other dentist shut down, I waited over a year to go. The hygienist, Khanzi was awesome. When she did that pokey thing to check my gums I barely felt anything. She had to go a deep cleaning with that water drill thing, and she did such a great job it didn’t hurt and I didn’t even need numbing stuff. Loved her! Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I think they only deal with emergencies. They were all very nice. It was a bit hard to figure out where to go. You have to go up the stairs and through the doors (to the right if your getting off the elevator). Once through the doors make a right.

Negative experience: Worst experience!!! Made an online appointment. Got confirmation through email. Reached to the place and they said their website is not working and cannot make appointments for another month. No point of even coming to this place.

Negative experience: Everyone here is very nice but unfortunately I have to give 1 star because I have had some bad experiences here. They give good cleanings but I would highly suggest if you ever need any work done not to come here. Over a year ago I was getting my regular cleaning done and I was told my teeth and gums looked phenomenal but when I saw the dentist for the exam I was told I needed multiple fillings, so it was a little odd as I've always taken great care of my teeth and have never had any kind of tooth pain or sensitivity in my life. Anyways, I get the fillings and immediately after leaving I started having extreme cold sensitivity. I was told this is normal after fillings and it could last awhile so I didn't think too much of it. Eventually around 7 months later the sensitivity in most of my teeth started going away but one in particular remained very sensitive. So after almost 8 months of dealing with non stop pain due to the fillings, at my next visit I mentioned that one of the fillings was still bothering me and they sent me to another great expressions location that does root canals to see if I needed one. I went and paid the copay for them to say I didn't need one. Well 2 months after that I started having excruciating pain in my jaw and tooth and ended up having to find a different root canal place (not a great expressions) and they told me just by looking at my x-ray that the dentist went way too deep with the filling and put it right on my nerve and that's why it was hurting so much and having sensitivity. So ended up paying almost 200 to have the root canal and then went back to great expressions and paid another 165 to get the crown on the tooth after the root canal. And on top of that I recently just went back for my cleaning in December and ended up having to pay for my whole entire cleaning, exam, and x-rays because apparently if they send you to a root canal specialist you're insurance counts that as your 6 month cleaning and exam.(Mind you I tried to get my cleaning moved a week or two earlier and they said they couldn't because that would make it technically a few days before my 6 month cleaning so insurance wouldn't pay for it. But then I ended up having to pay for it anyways. So just wish they would have told me that from the start) So moral of the story I went from never having any kind of tooth pain or sensitivity to suffering for almost a year due to a botched filling done here (that I truly am not sure I needed) and paid hundreds of dollars to fix. I have come here my entire life and I have definitely learned my lesson and will not be returning to great expressions.(update now 6 months later and am being told I owe an additional 440 for the crown I already paid for and nobody will get back to me to help me resolve this issue)

Negative experience: keep on postponing the schedules when you arrive the center. visited 3 to 4 times only for scanning and no cleaning. few people response are very rude. disappointed very much. I never expected this kind of behavior in my experience. I will give negative rating -5 but there is no option, so i am giving 1. This center cares only money not for treatment.

Negative experience: We won't be going back. We made an appointment online, show up, they didn't have our appointment. They made a few minutes to check my child's teeth because they had a filling causing issues. They didn't mention anything about the issue we went in for, referred us for 2 root canals! Went to talk to the other Dr, he said a root canal isn't needed, the fillings need fixed so sent us back to the other dentist (and was rude when i asked questions aboutthe root canal). Nothing even got done except made us pay more! We do not trust these people. We won't be going back for anything!

Negative experience: I have been working on an implant (1 tooth) since April 2021. We are going into October 2022 and still no inplant. The staff is nice, but this wait makes no sense. If not for the staff they would get no stars
