Fantastic experience: Dr.Yoon is always kind and patient with my boys, especially my oldest who is on the Autistic Spectrum. The staff is always friendly and understanding.

Fantastic experience: Dr Angie was patient and kind with my son.

Negative experience: I called many times requesting a change to my daughter’s appointment due to travel. I was told that we would be called back. That never happened. At time of appointment we were asked to pay the $84.60 charge for two fillings. I first offered a credit card and was told there was a 4% fee. When I offered to pay cash, they said they had no change. I was offered the opportunity to book a new appointment. What??! If you charge 4% for credit card use, you should have change for cash. Basic common sense.

Fantastic experience: First time there. Staffs were very friendly. Dr Vivian took time to do the cleaning for my daughter who has heavy teeth stains. Her teeth were so white and shiny afterwards! Very happy with the result. She also took time to answer my questions did not rush through the visit like my daughter’s prior dentist.

Positive experience: My daughter has been a patient since she was 5 years old. She’s 16. The doctors and staff are always great. The office has been transitioning with new doctors and staff and sometimes the experience can vary just as relationships develop.

Negative experience: Really bad attitude made me drive there over and over and the front table first told me that they take the insurance company I have and scheduled a date and when I camed they told me my mother canceled the appointment saying I’m not going to be in town! When my mother can’t speak English and then they told me that they don’t take my insurance card. And when I said that the other women that help me scheduled said they do take my insurance they then told me that it was her first day on the job!!!

Customer service was top tier, the dentist was very patient and careful with my daughter when examining her, she was so kid friendly and very patient and correspond with my daughter every step of the cleaning.That’s definitely my daughter’s dentist as of now❤️

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my son here since he was 2 and we’ve been really happy with our experience! He’s 3.5 now and had his fourth visit with no fuss at all. He was even looking forward to it because he loves the prize box. I appreciate that they have a dentist who specializes in the youngest children , Dr. Vivian, and she has developed a good rapport with my son. The office is well-run and the appointments have always been pretty much on time. I definitely recommend this practice to parents!

Fantastic experience: We went to Dentistry for Children of West Essex for my daughter's first ever dental appointment. As a child I grew up with a fear of dentists that went well into my adulthood after bad experience and I was terrified of her first one. Thankfully everyone from the register staff to the dental assistant and the doctor were extremely positive and gentle with her. She left the clinic with a big smile! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My children have been going here for years. I’d recommend this pediatric dentistry a million times over, and I have. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The dentist are awesome too. And we love Dr. Persily.

Negative experience: Updating my review because something is plaguing that entire office. It’s not the dentists. But the staff is some of the most incompetent individuals I have ever seen in a collective office. They flood you with communications and are unresponsive to your outreaches. Stay far away.

Fantastic experience: The nurse told my daughter that she is 15 and she should be able to brush her teeth on her own. I want to thank the nurse for doing so. My daughter needed to hear that. Something not enough people tell her, about a number of different things.

Positive experience: Gareth’s Friday schedule was changed to Saturday since the office closes earlt at 3 pm. That’s the one I dont like. But the dentist, I think her name is Angie was great always checking on how my son feels coz he has special needs. I just hope that if they have early schedule Friday, Saturday should be open.

Negative experience: I’ve been going to this practice for many years. The orthodontist is amazing, so this isn’t about him. I wouldn’t even come here if he worked somewhere else. The dentists and hygienists have had a lot of issues. The dentist and hygienist don’t read chart instructions or follow simple requests, like toothpaste preferences. I felt disrespected and treated unfairly, often being treated like I was much younger than I am. Some flavors make me physically sick, yet they acted like I was being unreasonable. Sometimes they even changed the dentist I was scheduled to see without letting me know. The front desk is the worst part. They’re not friendly and often don’t seem to know what they’re doing. When I had an issue with my retainer, they refused to leave a message for the doctor or provide any way to get in touch while he was out of the office. I can never get clear answers about orthodontic matters because the right team isn’t available. If a practice has both dental and orthodontic services, the front desk should at least know the basics.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with my 3 kids, they had a great experience with Jackie the hygienist she got to managed all 3 without any problem, took X-rays, cleaning and with them some prizes at the end of the visit. Dr Vivian was amazing with them as well during the exam.

Fantastic experience: The number one thing about this place is their front desk staff. I myself own a medical practice and the second walked in with my children, the staff (Dani, Nelly, Tanya, Charlotte) were very welcoming, helpful and professional. Tanya actually called me prior to the children's appointment to remind me, which I thought was very helpful with my busy schedule. The whole staff at the front desk were kind and courteous, and Tanya even made sure that my next appointment was scheduled as I was leaving. My children usually work with Dr. Iva, my children and I are very happy with her clinical services. Overall, the combination of the front desk and the Dentists is a winning combination in my opinion. Negative experience: I recently visited this pediatric dentist with my children. The front desk staff member was very helpful and kind, which made check-in easy. Tanya was also wonderful, she went above and beyond to help my children feel comfortable and assisted me in every way possible. However, I did have an unpleasant experience with a staff member named Charlotte, who was dismissive and came across as rude during our visit. Overall, I truly appreciate the helpful team members who made our experience better, but I hope that all staff can show the same level of care and professionalism in the future

Fantastic experience: I made an appointment at this office and the first Lady I spoke to was very professional and knowledgeable. She even explained about my benefits because I was coming from another office. I was comfortable and excited to have my visit. When I arrived I got to meet the young lady who took care of everything on the phone Charlotte. She was even more professional and courteous in person. However to the young lady having a inappropriate loud conversation on her personal phone while patients were checking in turned me off. I was further annoyed when checking out by the same young lady who was yelling out the amount a patient owed. If I have to deal with Ms Tanya at any point ! I will just find another practice.

Fantastic experience: Tanya was very professional & moved in a timely manner my children were able to get registered for their appointment extremely fast & they were seen in less than 20 minutes . Her professionalism is remarkable & greatly appreciated my children just started attending this dentist & will attend again .

Negative experience: I’ve been a long-time patient at this office, dating back to when Dr. Eytel was practicing. Over the years, I’ve invested a substantial amount of money into my family’s dental care including out of pocket payments for both my children’s general dentistry and orthodontic treatments, as we do not have dental insurance. Given that level of commitment and loyalty, I expect a reasonable standard of professionalism and respect, which unfortunately was completely lacking during my most recent experience. I initially called the office with questions about a bill I continued to receive text messages about, despite having my account on autopay. The staff member who answered the phone was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and appeared poorly trained to handle patient concerns. Her tone was dismissive and disrespectful, and she provided no clear assistance. I eventually had to call back and speak with another person who was polite, competent, and quickly resolved my issue, a stark contrast that made the earlier interaction even more disappointing. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I immediately recognized the voice from that first phone call. It was the young woman seated in the middle at the front desk. To my disbelief, she attempted to check me in while chewing food. This behavior was not only unhygienic and unprofessional but entirely inappropriate for a medical setting. Her attire, jeans and a graphic T-shirt, further reflected a lack of professionalism, especially when compared to the other front desk staff who were neatly dressed in scrubs and conducted themselves with courtesy and professionalism. When I asked for her name, she responded with a snarky attitude, and a mouth full of food, making her response nearly incomprehensible all while rolling her eyes up and down at me. I had politely asked again for her name and under her breath said “oh my god” and then said Tonya but with aggression. She also proceeded to speak about me to the rest of the staff as if i wasn't sitting in the waiting area. The disparity in professionalism between her and the rest of the front office staff is unacceptable. Whoever made the hiring decision for this individual clearly overlooked the importance of demeanor, presentation, and patient interaction, all of which are critical for anyone serving as the first point of contact in a medical practice. As someone who also works in a medical office, I can confidently say that this type of behavior would never be tolerated in a professional healthcare environment. With Dr. Iva no longer at the practice and the clear decline in the quality of front-office service, I will unfortunately be taking my business elsewhere. Loyal, paying patients deserve to be treated with professionalism, respect, and care not disregard and attitude.

Fantastic experience: This dental office is truly outstanding!! The staff is amazing and professional. Ms. Charlotte (office staff) allows makes the parents and children feel welcomed and comfortable!! She always pleasant and professional, with a fun loving spirit!! My 5th grader loves coming here and looks forward to the appointments! If you need a great dental practice for your child, go to Dentistry for Kids in West Orange!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Vivian was amazing as usual taking such good care of my son with patience and kindness. His first tooth extraction went smoothly. He is always excited to go to see her because he knows he will be in good hands.

Negative experience: One of the most mismanaged practices I have ever come across. It’s a nightmare to schedule an appointment at this practice. My first experience was terrible—even after filling out all the forms, like so many others, they couldn’t find them on the appointment date. We had to wait almost 30–45 minutes before they could confirm our insurance details, all of this after the painful process of finding an appointment in the first place. Based on what we learned from our first experience, we scheduled all our appointments in advance to make sure we could clear our office schedule. However, a day before, they conveniently changed our schedule. Overall, it was extremely challenging to continue with this practice. Given our experiences, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking a smooth and dependable experience.

Fantastic experience: This dentistry is amazing and the staff is the best, and are very caring especially Ms.Sharlott she was very uplifting and wanted to make sure my son had a nice time, and was thankful for me covering his expenses for the retainers and braces

Negative experience: I would highly recommend avoiding this dentistry. The front desk is not friendly and does not provide any proper guidance. Even after repeatedly calling and clarifying whether any new patient forms need to be filled, and confirming its not required - when visited the ladies from the front desk asked my wife to fill in the forms. That was still okay, but then they started pressurizing her that if the forms are not filled within certain minutes the doctor would not see my kids. In addition, my wife was carrying a toddler with her, and they were not even cosiderate/cooperative in any sense. More or less they sounded insulting. the doctor was okay and did a acceptable checks for both of my kids, but I would recommend to avoid this dentistry if possible

Negative experience: Do not go here! I went to 3 different appointments for my child space holder and each time was another excuse of why I had to go back. I was told she needs it before her teeth starts to shift and she will need braces. To prevent it I went to every appointment. And it was always come back next month. Now her teeth ended up shifting and on the 3rd time I was told they don't have a spacer for her that they are all too big for her month. This place gives you the run around just so they can get rich. DO NOT GO HERE. FIND ANOTHER PLACE FOR YOUR KIDS/FAMILY!

Fantastic experience: My children have been attending this pediatric dentistry group since they were five and six and because of the care in courtesy of Dr. Vivian and the other dentist every time they go it’s a positive experience. They're now in fifth and fourth grade and they still feel like going to the dentist is great, I would like to say they practice pain-free dentistry. My youngest child had to have two teeth cavity’s filled and they gave her a little laughing gas with a elephant nose, and she laughed about how it smelt like strawberries and before I knew it she was falling asleep while getting a cavity filled. Now you can’t ask for any more than that.- great care

Fantastic experience: My daughter had a great experience from the moment they walked in the door she was greeted by the friendly receptionist. While in the room with the dentist and the assistant, she was comfortable. After the cleaning, the front staff celebrated her for not having cavities with a song, signing a wall, taking a picture with a giant toothbrush and gifted a few parting gifts. Excellent dentist experience. Unlike my traumatizing childhood dentist experience!

Negative experience: We had a good experience with the dentistry here for years but the orthodontics are a total scam. You are given a quote but no real treatment plan and then billed endlessly until your benefit is maxed and beyond. They dangle the carrot that if your kid uses their retainers correctly, they won’t need braces. My son took that seriously and told the doctor that he was going to be “legendary.” At first, they praised how well he was doing following the instructions. He continued following the same directions and after years, when we started to question why there was no improvement, suddenly they start telling you your kid is at fault. It gets to the point where the doctor is berating kids in the office and really yelling at them for not adjusting retainers properly. We started questioning the cost, lack of progress and ultimate objective with no real answers given. We left and are now at a real orthodontist who is providing quality treatment. But, our benefit is maxed, we paid thousands of dollars out of pocket, and now we are paying again. We figured it would cost more in legal fees than we lost to recover and I am sure they count on that. I am also upset that I let the doctor speak to my child that way and make us all feel like it was our fault. Medical professionals should not speak to children that way. I hope this will stop other parents and caregivers from making the same mistake. Do not fall for it!

Fantastic experience: everytime i come here everybody shows me so much love. Dr persily does me justice, gisell is so kind to me. the ortho coordinator eileen is so helpful and everytime i call to reschedule or have any questions Charlotte is so sccomodating and helpful and I always know when its her she has such a sweet voice.

Fantastic experience: Great service from both the front desk staff and doctor! I had went in for a filling and was given a warm charismatic welcome from the front desk. Dr.Vivian and her assistant Lenny were both calm,composed and efficient in everything they did making sure I was fine throughout the whole process,while simultaneously relaying necessary information on my oral health. I genuinely highly recommend!

Negative experience: Zero star! I had a very negative experience at this office. There were clear billing errors from the beginning, and despite bringing them to the staff’s attention, they refused to correct the mistakes. They also failed to send the necessary documents to my insurance provider. Instead of working toward a resolution, the office—particularly Sherry, the office manager—was dismissive and unprofessional. Communication was poor, and I was treated with a lack of basic respect. Shockingly, when I continued to question the billing discrepancies, they threatened to terminate my child’s treatment and even called the police. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a pediatric setting. I would strongly advise other families to avoid this practice and seek care elsewhere where professionalism, transparency, and basic courtesy are valued.

Negative experience: Zero Stars!!! I had a deeply disappointing experience at Dentistry for Children of West Essex From the start, the staff ( especially Sherry the office manager and Gisele the billing manager) were unfriendly and unprofessional, making what should have been a welcoming environment for children feel tense and uncomfortable. Communication was poor, and my concerns were brushed off without care. To make matters worse, the billing practices were extremely questionable. I was charged fees that were never disclosed upfront, the office failed to do a pre-determination even though one was requested and the amount charged and collected was NOT what was listed on EOB from dental carrier so a refund had to be requested. It felt deceptive and untrustworthy, especially for a pediatric office where transparency should be a priority. Overall, I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for respectful, honest, and professional care for their children. There are far better options available where families are treated with courtesy and integrity.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for 14 years for my now 14 year old daughter which is on the spectrum. She has build an amazing relationship with Dr Iva where she is no longer afraid to visit the Dentist. Now my 2 younger children ages 6 and 7 see her also. My 6 year old is also on the spectrum! Dr Iva is heaven sent! All my kids love her & most of all are comfortable with the visit! Everyone is very pleasant in this office! Will recommend!

Fantastic experience: Our 4 year old son banged his tooth out of place and we had to find a pediatric dentist who would see us quickly as a new patient. Everyone here was so accommodating. They got us in on a Saturday morning. Dr Angie explained everything clearly and put our mind at ease. The hygienist entertained our son while we asked our million questions and then gave him a bunch of toys to go home with. What could have been a hard visit for him became very memorable as he wouldn't stop talking about getting his first X-ray done. We plan to come back here for both our kids in the future.

Negative experience: The dentist tried to rush our son’s filling because “ she had another appointment. Forcing a laughing gas even though my son expressed that he didn’t want it. My wife explained to our son both options so he fully understands given this is not his first appointment for the filling procedure. My wife said what the dentist was doing was not appropriate, she asked my wife to step out and when I swapped with her the dentist insulted my wife saying she was “soft.” That was very disrespectful. We will never come back to this office.

Fantastic experience: Great staff and service! I'm not a fan of the dentist but they make you feel comfortable addressing any issues and in being a patient here. Big shout out to the front desk! And the one assistant Kayla is a gem 5/5 all around

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with this dentist. The care I received was awful, and to make matters worse, I found out they were double charging me for everything. The office staff was rude and completely unhelpful when I tried to address the issue. The dentist seemed rushed and inattentive. I left feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously at all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable and honest dentist.

Not only did I receive subpar dental care, but I also discovered that I was being double charged for the services provided. Fantastic experience: Dr Persily (orthodontist) is the best, knowledgeable about the latest treatments, very caring and professional. We switched from a different orthodontist and have been so thankful for his excellent practice ever since.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever with front desk, appointment was booked and confirmed 4 months back. I call to confirm a day before and they said there is no appointment. This happened second time with appointment. It seems front desk is very unethical and interested in fixing their own mistakes. When asked for front desk manager, she was very rude. Someone needs to take responsibility to fix this front desk experience.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment two months ago for an annual cleaning as I am a college student who only comes home for a short amount of time. The office proceeded to cancel my appointment within less than 24 hours of my appointment. My appointment was for Friday at 2:00 and they called me on Thursday at 3:00 to cancel. I then tried to reschedule my cleaning but they had no availability within my time frame of being home (shocker! it’s not like I called two months ago to ensure that they could see me). I insisted that they at least see me for an emergency pain appointment in which they scheduled me for the next day, Friday at 10:20. When I woke up the next morning with a fever and called to cancel they said they would have to charge me a cancellation fee as I was canceling within 24 hours of my appointment. This is ridiculous as I had only just made my appointment the day before for the following day so no matter what I never had more than 24 hours until my appointment. I have been coming here since I was a child and have never been treated this horribly by the staff. They were rude and when I then asked to come in (taking fever reducers as I have a non contagious sinus infection) since I would be charged they refused me service as I am sick. If I am sick and you are refusing me service then why am I paying a cancellation fee. I am never coming back here after this experience as the staff was flat out rude and in the wrong. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Negative experience: I had very bad experience brought my daughter in today and got double charged for her regular dental visit. It was previously $145 without insurance and got bumped into $313 without any notice. They only notified me after the fact. I wouldn’t have chosen to go in Dec if I had known, as I added my daughter to the dental insurance next year. They are fully aware of my insurance situation when made my appointment yet they said nothing about the price jump nor advise me to come next year with the insurance. They even acted like they had no idea about the price jump. It does not make any sense why the price is twice high compared to the last time when everything the dentist did stays the same. So unprofessional and careless of their customers. I’m very disappointed and would not go there again.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a 0 I WOULD!!! Their customer service is TERRIBLE. While getting a teeth cleaning, the dental hygienist, Dr. Vivian and her helpers were extremely RUDE and passive aggressive. Let alone the fact that they have no regard for their customers, their prices are OUTRAGEOUS. This place needs to figure out WHAT THEY ARE DOING BECAUSE THEY WILL HAVE NO CUSTOMERS LEFT BEFORE THEY KNOW IT. I will N-E-V-E-R BE BACK HERE. There are many other dentists in this area that will be 100x better than this place will ever be. My business is going elsewhere and I warn those who bring their business to Dentistry for Children of West Essex.

They were made to feel very comfortable and the process seemed so simple and my 9 year old child and 15 year were both happy.. All the staff is also very nice and the dentists and their assistants are the best. Am glad we chose this facility for our kids.
