Fantastic experience: Dr. Kang, I wanted to mention something before I leave. Whenever I come in, the service provided by the receptionist at West Caldwell is impeccable. She is incredibly friendly and organized, and she puts you at ease right from the start—something that is truly appreciated when visiting the dentist. People who are that efficient and attentive are hard to find; I hope you value and look after her as she deserves, because she is the face of your practice.

Fantastic experience: This place is a hidden gem. I had a family dentist for 25 years that I grew apart from, and tried Sway on a whim. Heather Cozzolino was so kind and helpful in helping me get on track to where I want to be with my mouth. She set up a plan for me and helped me see it through. I’ve always dreaded the dentist and cleanings, but Candy cleaned my mouth very gently with incredible attention to my comfort. Extremely pleased with them as a whole and really happy I gave them a shot.

Fantastic experience: Words cannot express how grateful I am to this office and the staff! After breaking a crown, the VA sent me to Sway Dental for an implant procedure. If you have ever had an implant, you know how long the process can be. From the very first day I came in, the staff and doctors were so incredibly friendly that it made my anxiety completely melt away. Their equipment is state of the art, which helped reassure me that the procedure would be done right the first time and as painless as possible. I live over an hour away from their office and let me tell you, I would drive two hours without question. That’s how fantastic this office is! Today is my final appointment and I couldn’t be happier. If you are looking for a place that is friendly, clean, and professional you need not look anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I went to Dr.Kang for treatment of my sleep apnea. He uses this technique to shrink the tissue of the mouth. It's called Nightlase. It's painless and done with a laser. I had severe sleep apnea where I stopped breathing 68 times per hour and got up to urinate 3 to 4 times per night. Dr. Kang suggested 3 to 5 visits to be my treatment plan. Well just after appointment #2 I ditched the CPAP machine and I'm sleeping wonderfully. No more getting up to urinate or waking up gasping for air. I'm sleeping the whole night through. I feel so free now and not a slave to that machine. Thank you Dr.Kang for changing my life !!

The receptionist was friendly, and I was only kept in the waiting room a few minutes before being brought in. Positive experience: When my dentist retired, I was very nervous about having a new practice take over for her. You see, I am a white knuckler when it comes to any dental work! I must say that the transition has been a pleasant one. Dr. Kang and his staff, have been courteous, understanding and very patient with me. Fantastic experience: This is my first time ever writing a review for a dentist. I have never had such a great experience at the dentist before. I just moved over to TruYou Dental because my insurance wasn't covering everything at my last two dentists. I was a little nervous to change because I really liked my other dentist. Well, I had no idea what I was missing! I have a small mouth and taking x-rays has always been painful for me. This was this first time it wasn't. I asked the technician if their plates were smaller than usual and she said they were. Big plus for me! I had to have a filling done and the dentist, Hannah, used a barrier so my tongue was held back and nothing was falling into my mouth. She even put Vaseline on my lips so they didn't get dry! Also, before they did any work, they reviewed the cost of everything with me before starting the work. No unexpected costs! All in all, they are an A+ for me and I hope I have a permanent home now!

The office staff was so friendly and helpful. The dental technician was very kind and listened carefully as I explained my mom's condition. Dr. Hannah was very warm, putting my mom at ease. Fantastic experience: I didn't have the opportunity to be a patient due to my insurance but I had called to see if my insurance was covered as I read all the good reviews online and I can completely understand where the reviews are coming from. The person I spoke to (I believe her name is Mara - sorry if I am incorrect) was so very helpful and even called my insurance company for me. Unfortunately the DR was not in my network but I will most certainly be a patient in the future if possible.

Fantastic experience: Its refreshing to deal with such nice people. I've been to many dentist & periodontist since my employer changes insurances. This is the only one that has all the modern technologies which is great, it was much better experience when they did my cleaning.

Negative experience: The Doctor was very good....thorough, informative, and suggestive in areas of concern. Her staff was at best mediocre. I called to request the cost of the visit for a cleaning....was told $75.....arrived 2 hours later to be charged $150. When I mentioned the quote, there was silence....no response. It seemed to me that everyone but the Doctor needed directions.

Fantastic experience: Update at the end of 1st meeting. I had a toothache and my dentist tried, but couldn't take care of it. I was sent to TruYou in West Caldwell to have the molar pulled. Now, I'm a bit older than most and remember back in the '60s seeing some and even getting a tooth pulled (back then it was taking a strong string, tying it to the tooth and doorknob and as you stepped back to get the string pulled tight, mom would slam the door and the tooth would be out. So, I was amazed to see how they do it today. I entered TruYou and was greeted by the assistant who had me fill out several forms. She was very helpful. Then, Lilly came and took me into one of the examining rooms where she took X-rays of my entire mouth. After that she had me infront of a machine that reminded me of a cat scan. After a round of that and I was done. Then, Dr. Kane came in and reviewed my X-rays and studied my problem before he probed my mouth and had Lilly take his instructions. When that was done he asked me to come with him and view his findings. I was amazed again as we looked at the X-rays and he show me where the problem was and what he would be doing. He informed me he would be rebuilding the bone in my jaw and how in a few months after the tooth was out I could ask for an implant on the rear molar if I wanted it. Then, he pressed a button on the screen and "walla", up popped a 3-D image of my mouth where he showed me my problem from all sides. I'm use to having a tooth pulled with a big pliers, but I guess Dr. Kane doesn't have one. Amazing is the proper word for his whole layout from his staff; his office and his equipment. I'm totally confident that the extraction will be an easy and total success. I will give him and staff "6-stars." That's about it for now, I don't believe I'll bring any string. Semper Fi, Tom M Implant operation on November 29th. Well, I can truthfully say, "I'd rather be in Hawaii." With that said, I'll tell you about the "implant operation." No implant operation is going to go completely painless I found out. To get to where the tooth had to go, was the back of the mouth. Doc Kang numbed the whole area he worked on and that went fine. Felt very, very little pain, if I would even call it that. But to get there, your jaw has to stay open and there was a bit of discomfort. That discomfort was mainly in the lips. After the operation was finished I was given a list of "what to do /not to do." I don't like meds so I haven't taken them. The shots are wearing off and pain is slowly coming on. Perhaps I'll take some Tylenol when finished. All in all, I'd give Doc and staff a big pat on the back, but I still wish I'd be in Hawaii. My last visit in early March was pleasant enough as they just looked at how their preimplantation of the lower jaw was going. "Doc" said it looked good and that was that. He said he would send me items for my dentist at VA to complete the job - which he did and I'll have it done after she is back for a short leave. All in all, I'm super happy with TruYou in West Caldwell and would recommend them in a second if ever asked. My VA dentist (head of the dental department at Lyon's VA) likes him and his staff also. As I paid for my dental at Lyons many years ago in Vietnam and like my VA dentist I have no choice but the wise choice to stay with her. Otherwise I would be with TruYou in West Caldwell. One last bit of recommendation for you, "Take care of your body and brush & floss you teeth" and "Don't say 'GRACE' with your mouthful." Semper Fi, Tom M.

My husband has severe bone loss and he was given options regarding spaces on both sides of his mouth in terms of implants, bridges and the like. He will return to have the doctor take impressions and then decide what course to take. I was so impressed with the time spent to explain everything to us that I made an appointment for a consultation for myself because I too have severe bone loss and want his professional opinion because I’ve already lost a few teeth. I’m hoping Dr . Kang can help me preserve my teeth.
