Fantastic experience: Always a bit nervous when coming to get teeth worked on, but the great workers here make it as comfortable as they can. All the staff here are so approachable, warm, welcoming. This is the reason I been coming to them since Covid. Supposed to come in for regular clean, but unfortunately I had to do deep clean. As if I wasn’t nervous already, but Y the hygienist was so great. She explained to me all the things she will do and to ease any tension she put music in the background as she went to work. The music definitely calmed me, but majority of the credit must go to Y for her care, thoughtfulness. Not gonna lie, my teeth needed work, ugh. I can tell you after all she did my teeth felt spankin new again. Felt smooth, refined, refreshed, clean. Thank you Y for what you did for me today and making me feel comfortable. After the procedure Doc came to check on me. I love this guy, he knows me really well. Not that I’m anyone special, I’m sure Doc is like this with all his patients. I really appreciate him always letting me know in detail what I need to do to keep the care of my teeth and what I should look into in the future, I trust Docs recommendation. Thanks for all the care after all these years, you’re the best. Thank you to all the staff here from the kind front desk ladies checking me in and out and the awesome girl that did the X-ray. Positive experience: The dentists and everyone who works there is very friendly and professional. My only complaint is they need more reception. They have one lady handling it all and I’m certain she’s doing her best, but most times I call, I’m out on hold for 10+ minutes. Today I was on hold for 12 minutes and then it just said, “sorry no one is available for your call” called right back and someone picked up. They need a better phone system.

Negative experience: I thought i was crazy and then i finally read reviews that match what I was feeling. My experience at Long Beach Smiles felt like being at a car dealership. I went in for a routine check up, was told I needed a filling and possible crown on my back tooth I was like okay but $1500. later because they said my insurance didn't cover the crown I needed, I was hesitant but they offered a deal for a new customer. I should have checked with my insurance first rather than later but now im looking for a new dentist and I paid $1500. for something I was covered for. I did find out that they use specific code that insurances will deny. Look at the codes and compare the service before paying anything. I tried to go back for a check up and was rudely met by receptionist, asked to sign form regarding billing before I went back and then placed in a room for 25 minutes. I just walked out and now I search of a new honest dentist

Fantastic experience: Y hygienist was outstanding in taking care of me and my concerns of my teeth and ensure me to use the waterpik to floss everyday to improve my gum health. She is truly professional and very kind, she should be awarded to the job well done. Please give her a gift certificate at least a minimum $100 dollar. Also Ms. Amari and Mr. Valid provided me with Excellent customer service when I came to the Long Beach Smile Dentistry. They treated everyone with respect and the upmost professionalism kindness and should be recognized for their service to a job well done.

Negative experience: (Zero stars if possible) This is my honest experience, and I’m sharing it as a warning to others. The billing practices here felt deeply unethical to me — I noticed what looked like ghost charges and double charges, and the entire situation raised major red flags. They attempted to bill my insurance over $3,100 for a simple deep cleaning, and I later discovered that I had been charged duplicate co-pay that I didn’t catch until months later. The billing department offers no real help and insisted every charge was valid, even though the numbers didn’t add up from my perspective. My warning to anyone considering this office: review every single charge carefully, verify everything with your insurance, and be extremely cautious before you approve any procedures. Based on my experience, I would not return.

Negative experience: Sameday Update: my husband went to the office to speak to the manager in person. He reiterated my autoimmune issues were a conflict for the procedure and was able to effectively communicate rescheduling is medically necessary. The manager honored his adamant request and relayed I would not be penalized and $100 would be applied to my future rescheduled appointment. Beware…lost $100 deposit because I needed to RESCHEDULE my root canal appointment due to my autoimmune disease flaring. According to their terms that is considered a cancellation because I didn’t notify them 3 days before my procedure (I called them 2 days before) to let them know and now I’m out $100 that I don’t have. I am being penalized for having an autoimmune immune disease flare up that my body didn’t schedule with me within their time frame so I missed the window to reschedule not cancel. This policy is a cash grab and any rescheduling should be honored especially when a patient has a pre- existing health condition that is noted in their chart. I guess they expect me to show up sick, covered in a rash and ignore my life long health risks just for a root canal.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time at Long Beach Smiles with new hygienist Y, and she was great! Careful, patient, took the time to explain what she was seeing and doing and to thoroughly explain her recommendations. Dr. Chung was good as always, but on this visit, it was Y who had to do all the heavy lifting. She's a keeper!

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient at LB Smiles for years and have always received excellent care from the dentist and hygienist. Unfortunately, the billing department has been consistently unresponsive, and customer service seems to have declined recently. After my recent visit for a routine cleaning, I had to call my insurer myself to verify coverage since the receptionist was busy. Delta Dental confirmed the services were preventive and should not have been subject to a deductible. Although another staff assured me I’d be refunded, I’ve yet to receive that billing refund. If you’re considering this office, be aware that while the dental service is great, the administrative side may cause unnecessary stress and frustration.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at LB Smiles, largely thanks to Liz, the hygienist. She made me feel comfortable throughout the session, always checking in to ensure I was doing okay. The clinic itself is clean and has a welcoming environment. Most importantly, I am extremely satisfied with the results. Liz did a EXCELLENT job, and my teeth have never felt cleaner. I highly recommend LB Smiles, especially if you're looking for a thorough and pleasant dental experience.

Fantastic experience: Let me start off by saying that I HATE coming to the dentist. I’ve had some rough experiences, especially with heavy handed hygienists, however, Long Beach Smiles Dentistry went above and beyond to alleviate my anxiety. Dr. Abdalla was amazing. I would even go as far as to call her the nicest and sweetest dentists I’ve ever had. She is super attentive, detailed when educating her patients, and makes sure to acknowledge what you are doing well. As simple as that may sound, that went a long way for me. She also made sure to acknowledge my anxiety as opposed to being dismissive. Next, I had my deep cleaning. I was scheduled with Y, and since this was my first cleaning in a while (yes I know, don’t judge), I was nervous about it. As ridiculous as this may sound, I actually enjoyed my deep cleaning. That girl has the hands of an angel and is incredibly gentle. She also went above and beyond to create an environment that was perfect for relaxation. She had the music going along with her defuser. My experience was so positive I made sure to sit in my car to write my review to make sure I did not forget. Y is nothing short of wonderful and I thank her for changing my perception of deep cleanings. As long as I’m a patient here, no one is touching me but Y! If you are anything like me when it comes to going to the dentist, this is the place for you. And make sure to schedule with Dr. Abdalla and Y. Thank you both so much!

Negative experience: If you love bargaining and car shopping, then you’ll enjoy Long Beach Smiles and other Smile Generation dentistries. I attended Candlewood Smiles in Lakewood for years. In the past 2-3 years I felt that when it came to discussing payment of services not covered by my insurance, I was being quoted ridiculous amounts. When I would say I couldn’t afford it, the bargaining would begin. “Well, how much can you afford?” or “If you donate to one of our causes we can take $100 off.” or “We can take $50 off this service or another $20 off that service.” These conversations would leave me feeling like I was shopping for a car while trying not to be taken advantage of by a shady salesperson. In May of 2025 I finally decided to change to a new dentistry, Long Beach Smiles. I should have known this would be a mistake because it’s a part of the same network. This office was even more awful when it came to the outrage quotes. I was quoted almost $3k for work that needed to get done. I couldn’t believe it. What is the point of having insurance then? In the quote they have an estimated fee, primary, secondary, and patient. I am not fluent in dental billing so I called my provider and asked them to explain the quote and what is actually covered. NOTE: Please call your provider and ask coverage questions. This is their job and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. My provider suggested that I request a PREDETERMINATION, which is an estimate from your insurance not the dental office. A copy of the predetermination is mailed out to both you and the dental office. Suffice it to say I was very upset as there was a significant difference between the dental office quote and what the predetermination stated my out of pocket cost should be. Prior to this I called the billing manager at LB Smiles (Abby?) to discuss my concerns because I had an appointment the next day and was hoping to figure out the billing before going in. I am STILL waiting for her call back. I definitely cancelled my appointment and will never be back. DISCLAIMER: The actual services provided by the dentists at Candlewood and LB Smiles was great. No complaints. The issues with their billing managers and their dishonesty is terrible. I have found a dentist office that is not part of the Smile Generation. I was quoted under $1k for all the work that I needed done. This office is in an older building, no frills, just good ol’ HONEST dentistry!

Fantastic experience: I just visited Long Beach Smiles for the first time today and I have to say, every member of the staff that assisted me were all fantastic at their job and very welcoming. Dr Chung was a great dentist who not only explained things well but made sure I was comfortable and in the loop on what step of the process we were on. Y, the hygienist who assisted me, was very competent at what they were doing while being an enjoyable person to talk to as well. Ashley with the front desk was great at explaining the financial side of the process to me as well while making sure I was following along. I was very impressed with the staff at Long Beach Smiles and these 3 interactions will ensure I'll be a returning patient who is happy with the facility and everything it provides. To keep it simple, everyone was great - y'all rock and keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: I was helped by Doctor. Bynun and manager Isiss. They are both very sweet and made me feel at ease. I am really not a fan of needles but all staff made me feel at ease. Really good experience from the xrays to my deep cleaning.

Fantastic experience: My usual hygienist is unavailable and that day, Y helped me out. She was like my hygienist’s sister in that I felt at ease immediately; it’s so easy to talk to her and she has a ton of answers and recommendations for all the questions I ask of her. Her table side manner is top notch. Definitely hope Y is here to stay alongside Nancy.

Fantastic experience: Very well-operated dentistry practice. I wouldn't have discovered I had Periodontal Disease without the initial screening here. They first used a saliva screening which help determine I had high levels of bacteria in my saliva. Also, they use probing of gums for each tooth to measure the recession of gums from the teeth. And The facility uses higher-end technology with dental screenings, root canals, crowns (use laser printing), night guards (use camera tool instead of icky impression molds), and also very modern communication methods such as the MyChart App and Website where you can see your health summary, past visit appointment notes, test results, and upcoming appointments. So much difference than my previous dentist that hardly use any of these things. Very friendly staff from reception to dentists. Marian and Liz were my dentist and hygienist and have been terrific.

Fantastic experience: Today I came to Smile Long Beach for a dental exam, my first visit here. Dr. Chung is very professional and explained in detail why I have sensitivity and what I can do to improve it. Hygienist Y was extremely gentle and caring, making me feel comfortable throughout the deep cleaning procedure. The whole team was welcoming, and I had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this office for anyone seeking quality dental care.

Fantastic experience: Visiting from out of state, lost a crown, got referred to Long Beach Smiles Dentistry, what a find! They got me in within an hour, Dr Kim treated me like I was a life long valued patient, her assistant Jackie was super and Ashley in the front office got all of my insurance information easily and efficiently. Fantastic experience: -Nancy was my hygienist and she gave me the most thorough, amazing teeth cleaning of my life. I know that sounds kinda crazy but apparently after having a baby your teeth can build more gunk than normal, and I just wasn’t feeling myself. It was a life changing cleaning. -And then Doctor Abdalla is the best dentist I’ve ever had, she’s so patient and nice and aware of my tooth sensitivity. She’s wonderful I recommend her to everyone I know. -And Erica was so helpful explaining my insurance coverage to me. I love this whole team, everyone here is always so nice. -Shoutout to Iissiiss she checked me in today and was a joy to talk to.

Fantastic experience: I’m in love with my new dental team at Long Beach smiles! It’s been a few years since I’ve been able to see a dentist and I needed a bit of work done. The team is friendly and helpful from the reception desk to my dental professionals. Ahmari and Ashley are crazy friendly at the front desk! Dr. Kim has been excellent in directing my dental care in the right track. My hygienist was Y. She did a deep cleaning and I was gentle and kind. And my root canal specialist Dr.Nguyen is awesome and made my experience super smooth and as pain free as possible. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re a nervous dental patient like myself.

Negative experience: Went in to care care of a crown that had broken off (required an extraction). Enjoyed speaking with the doctor after a thorough exam. Sadly all went down hill after that. They wanted to do $5,000 worth of work, and sat there with a woman trying to talk me into taking a loan out. Literally the second I said "I'll have to consider it", she stated where the exit door was. Really felt like a shifty office, where I can't trust the results because they only want to maximize profits.

Negative experience: I was a customer here for over a decade. Every time I go in they focus more on being a corporate business that monetizes people rather than focusing on individual customer care. It's so sad because this used to be a good dentist office. I can't count the number of different dentists I've seen here. The latest "dentist" told me, "I need a deep clean" even though the analysis on my teeth/gums hadn't changed and I was told, "the previous dentist was wrong I saw last time." They didn't charge me up front because they wanted the little sales lady to walk in with the pricing printout that looks like a time share scam. At the end I had to sign a form saying they were going to do a one time cleaning but this was the last one. Upfront the young employees are power dialing their list of customers and taking forever to get you in because they are more focused on the customers not there than you sitting there. So sad to see this business go down hill. Do not read the fake reviews this place is corporate dentist town... go find a small local dentist that cares about your health not milking you for cash.

Positive experience: The front desk didn’t acknowledge me. When I walked in. I signed in. I can hear them talking about how they wish the last appointment had canceled. Clearly, the girl that said that did not see me sitting there. I’m not sure if they were referring to me because another person walked in after me. Besides that the dental hygienist was amazing!!! She took so much time to talk to me about my dental hygiene treatment And had such a positive attitude, even at the end of the day on a Friday. I think what people need to remember that we also as working people have to fit appointments into our end of the day as well and make it work with our 9 to 5

Negative experience: I've been a patient here for over 3 years, but unfortunately, the quality of service has steadily declined. Nearly every visit, they run behind schedule and often end up rescheduling my cleaning due to poor time management. At my most recent appointment, I waited for over an hour and a half without being seen for either my cleaning or exam. It wasn't until I voiced my frustration that they finally did my exam and cleaning and even then, the experience felt rushed and careless. My cleaning was sloppy, water was spilled all over me, and the entire visit felt more like an inconvenience to them than a standard of care. This isn't the first time I've had to complain just to be seen, and at this point, I'm seriously reconsidering whether I'll continue coming here. In addition, for my last scheduled visit I always schedule my 6-month follow-up at the end of each visit and immediately add it to my calendar while still in the office. At my last visit, I arrived on time only to be told there was no record of my appointment. The front desk insisted I should have known it wasn't booked because I never received a confirmation or reminder. I explained that my calendar clearly showed the appointment, and it lined up exactly 6 months after my last visit. After some back and forth, they eventually fit me in, but only after I pushed back. My experiences leave me questioning how often this happens and whether they prioritize patient service or simply expect people to go along with their mismanagement.

Fantastic experience: Y, the hygienist, was awesome! I had a deep cleaning today and was a little concerned about the possible pain or discomfort that would result from the procedure. Instead, she was very accommodating and I felt no discomfort whatsoever. Throughout the process she would reassure me and was concerned with my comfort. I highly recommend Y, and would definitely ask for her during my next visit. Thank you Y, I'll see you next time Carlos

Negative experience: I received a root canal in October 2024 and my overall experience was poor. From the inattentiveness of the front desk from the time I entered, poor finish of the crown, and the incorrect billing months later I am overall unsatisfied. I can say I did not want to give them an opportunity to "fix" any of the issues besides billing but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Update 7/2/25: I send a message on the portal, and called being told a manager would call me back over the past month after still receiving bills. Nothing! They never validated the payments, I paid the day of service. They sent me to collections before every responding and not seeing that all payments were made as requested. I had to go in after returning from being out of town to deal with this. Completely unprofessional service, I do not recommend them at all.

Erica also explained in detail the cost of my procedures, which made me feel comfortable because most dentists do not explain in detail what I am paying for. I highly recommend going to Long Beach Smile, you will not be disappointed with the wonderful staff.

Negative experience: The staff seemed very unprofessional and inexperienced. I was at the office for two hours for a regular check in appointment. The hygienist took 3 sets of x-rays and they still did not come out right, and afterwards I had a lesion show up on my face for about 30 minutes, seemingly from the x rays. Then, the dentist told me that I need a root canal when after a second opinion at another office, it was deemed not necessary. Then, the hygienist sent me to check out incorrectly and I had to return and wait for a new dentist. In the past they have also rescheduled my appointment to a later time without asking me. Overall, I feel like they wasted my time and I cannot trust them after receiving a vastly different opinion on an expensive procedure from a different office. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: WARNING! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! THIS PLACE PUT ME ON COLLECTION FOR A BILL THAT THEY NEEDED TO RESOLVE WITH MY INSURANCE. My insurance billed them and they tried putting the bill on me instead of sending a description of the treatment. Instead of dealing with the issue, they decided to bill me and try to make me pay. Sent me to collection within 6 weeks of treatment. Ridiculous.

Negative experience: They will try to pressure you into getting deep clean dental procedures. For certain insurances , they will not tell you what you are covered for until you are in the dentist chair (but then again my insurance said I was covered over there, so that’s their fault). I requested to specifically seek getting an initial basic cleaning and then consider a deep cleaning at a later time. The insurance specialist then said that I would be REQUIRED to get a deep cleaning at my next appointment. The basic cleaning I got from the cold and unfriendly dental hygienist was quick and not very thorough. She even made a comment that my gums were bleeding during the cleaning because of periodontist, despite her jamming the floss in my gums causing them to bleed naturally. Would not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Elizabeth Bautista does a great job each time cleaning and take care of my dental needs. The whole staff is great and I don’t think I have waited more then 5 minutes to be seen over the years

Fantastic experience: I've only had great experiences at Long Beach Smiles since I've been a patient there. As soon as I walk in the door, Jeanette, Darlene, and Erica greet me with their smiles! They're very efficient and obviously know their stuff. Dental assistants and hygienists are personable as well, and of course, I can't leave out the dentists! Dr. Kim is the best and treats me like a partner in my own care and doesn't just talk at me. I haven't even touched on the cutting edge machinery and techniques I've seen here. It's obvious that everyone is keeping up on their game! If you live in the Long Beach area, I suggest you give Long Beach Smiles a try. You definitely won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: Liz is an excellent dental hygienist. She made it clear what I have to do to maintain healthy teeth and it felt like she cared. She made the experience even better by talking about my major criminal justice. She gave me pointers and different perspectives of the different careers criminal justice offers.

Negative experience: My appointment itself went well but in some cases, it seemed like they were trying to get me to sign up for excessive treatments. I tried calling Erica a few times before my upcoming appointment to discuss billing but never received a responses. Every time I called, Erica was busy which is understandable but I spoke to staff and left my name and call back number at least 3 times and never received a call. I even waited a few days but nothing. This is not the type of practice I want to go to since they can’t provide clear communication.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I went to Long Beach Smiles Dentistry as new patients last Saturday. We were greeted warmly by the front desk employees. Since we already answered the questionnaires on their portal before we went there, we were seen at our scheduled appointment time. We couldn’t be happier with our dentists, hygienist and the person who took our xrays. My dentist, Dr. Naguib most especially is very friendly and explained everything in full details about my teeth and gums situation without making you feel scared of something. I never have to ask questions because she explained fully well anything that I need to know. My hygienist, Priscilla also made me comfortable during the cleaning. My daughter goes to this location, too. We all had a happy experience overall and will definitely go back. I hope the experience will not change even if we’re no longer new patients :-)

Fantastic experience: Liz did an amazing job. I came in with extremely poor stained teeth and once I left I had the confidence to smile again. She was careful with my sensitive teeth and made sure my visit was painless and pleasant.

Negative experience: Not all dentists are A students. Clearly, there are C dentists, and since C is passing, that unfortunately affects the quality of their work. A crown they placed on my right back tooth in 2023 has fallen off three times—the most recent being yesterday, Saturday, just one day after they reattached it! To make matters worse, during the last procedure, the dentist didn’t place it correctly the first time. He had to shave it down, yet even after that, it still wasn’t sitting right. And now, here we are again—the crown has come off. At this point, it’s beyond frustrating. A crown should stay put for years, not days. This experience makes me seriously question their skill and attention to detail. If you’re looking for reliable, long-lasting dental work, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Long Beach smiles! Every time I come in for a visit it’s always a great and thorough job. The staff is so friendly and knows me well at this point. My favorite front desk receptionists Erica and Randy are awesome. They always treat me greatly and are so professional and calm.

Fantastic experience: Was fast and easy. Got a small piece of tooth removed and nothing hurt at all. The lady gave me a dental care package with a lot of toothpaste and answered all of my questions clearly. The dentists are very easy going and make you feel comfortable. Positive experience: Went in a couple months ago for their $59 walk in special. I was happy with the service, technicians and dentist were all friendly, etc. I paid my $59 and left happy. That could have been the end of it, but about once a month since then I get a bill in the mail or online for $129 for that $59 service I already paid for. I call and ask what the deal is, and twice I'm told "oh that's a mistake on our end, don't pay it, it should be fine" but then it happens again the next month and the charge isn't reversed. Today is the second time, so we'll see if it actually gets taken care of. It's a shame, because the actual dentist visit experience was great! But this after-the-fact bill thing feels fishy and makes me want to find another dentist so I don't have to worry about the business's honesty.

Fantastic experience: Let just start by saying I have never ever ever had an amazing dental experience like this before! I called front desk rep Erika was very knowledgeable and helpful over the phone in setting me up for my 1st visit. Arrived and got called by Miguel to get my X-rays, it is was very swift and professional especially with the latest cool looking equipment they have ( I was in awe) Next, it was time for Dr Kim to exam my yellowing whites (haha) she was very sweet and treated me with professional service. I loved the fact the she really took the time to explain to me what I needed and answered my concerns. Thank you Doc! Lastly my superb deep cleaning with Priscilla , I had a great time getting these yellowing pearls get deep cleaned with her. I can tell she loves what she does. PS. Fantastic experience: After being turned away by two different dentists due to my Mother’s Dementia, I was finally able to get her teeth cleaned, with an ongoing treatment and care plan. I am overjoyed that I don’t have to take those dentists’ forced routes for me, which is neglect. Would highly recommend. Easy parking. Ultra friendly staff. They were very understanding and accommodating.

Negative experience: This location has an amazing hygienist, but terrible customer service. Their front office has a policy that text confirmations to confirm appointments are not enough. If you do not call to confirm your appointment, they will give your appointment to someone else without notifying you. That is exactly what happened to me. I arrived to the office for my appointment and the receptionist told me that my “appointment was given to someone else who needed it because I didn’t confirm my appointment.” I showed her my text confirmation and she said that wasn’t enough. I was forced to reschedule my appointment for the weekend without her so much as even checking with the hygienist to see if she could still accommodate me. I showed up two weeks later for a different appointment and waited one hour to be seen without so much as an explanation that they were running late. I would have been happy to go get coffee while I waited, but I never received word about staff sunning behind until I notified the office that I was still waiting. This place came highly recommended and I am extremely disappointed. If you value your time, don’t come here. Update: I visited a second time and realized the front desk person is just RUDE. When I arrived she was helping another guest and was loudly accusing her co-worker of changing a password to a log in to a website. She was clearly frustrated and “assisting” the person at the desk with an attitude. Then she loudly and rudely told me and another guest to have a seat. Thank goodness this place opened a back office that faces the Trader Joe’s side of the parking lot. The staff in the back was much friendlier. I definitely will not visit the front side of the office anymore.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to this office three times now and have had the chance to work with Dr. Jaisingh and dental hygienists Priscilla and Liz; they’re all the best! After not going to the dentist for years, they have been really helpful in giving me feedback and addressing my concerns, and entire team does a great job of creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Nancy the hygienist was very thorough and kind as was Dr. J. Dr. J is a very patient doctor with a great bed side manner. I have been going to Long Beach Smiles for many years and have been well taken care of by all the staff. Thank you everyone for making going to the dentist a more pleasant experience.
