Fantastic experience: Good appointment. Would have liked to have known more info about the fluoride before she did it. Fake sweet taste was awful; I’m sensitive to those tastes. Barely made it to the 15 min wait before I can drink water.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient of Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for 6 years. As someone who has never liked going to the dentist, this group makes it SO much better. From the caring nature, personable approach of all the staff to the excellence in treatment from the hygienists (especially Shara!) and skills and leadership of Drs Neshat & Jang. I’m grateful to have found such competent and caring providers. I highly recommend this practice!!

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I have ever been to in my life. The Dr’s are some the most professional and kind individuals around. I cannot speak highly enough about the hygienists (Katie is a star). For the first time in my life, I can expect to go to a cleaning or check up and hear honest, informed, and patiently delivered advice from someone who cares. Whether it be straightforward instructions or going above and beyond and counseling me on chronic issues I have had all my life that no one else has bothered to address. Both the Drs and hygienists walk you through what they are doing and why, as opposed to just drilling/scraping away without forewarning. I hated the dentist before, now I view them as a partner in my dental journey. This all sounds cliche, sounds like a paid endorsement, but no, I actually just found a dentist I like.

Negative experience: Avoid the hygienist Sabrina. Her technical skills were genuinely awful. The cleaning was unnecessarily painful, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before — and that’s saying something considering I’ve had perfect teeth my entire life with zero issues. The first thing out of her mouth wasn’t about my dental health — it was trying to push a night guard on me without even bothering to ask if I already had one. Is she a hygienist or a commission-based salesperson? Even worse, she constantly interrupted conversations between me and Dentist, which was honestly bizarre and wildly unprofessional. Girl If you’re that desperate to act like the doctor, maybe go earn the credentials first!

Positive experience: I have been going to Reston Family & Cosmetic Dentistry for over 10 years. Dr. Neshat and Dr. Jang are very competent and I have been very satisfied with results of any procedures (fillings, crowns). You just need to be your own advocate though, as they have a very aggressive business model and push to have unnecessary procedures done or push to have procedures done prematurely. I have to use my own judgment with this - thus the 4 stars.

Fantastic experience: Thorough, friendly, efficient dental exam, cleaning, and analysis. They don’t try to sell you procedures you don’t need, answer all your questions, and get you in and out efficiently.

Negative experience: This was by far the most disappointing and unprofessional dental experience I’ve ever had — from the front desk to the dental assistant, everything about this office was deeply concerning and entirely money-driven, not patient-centered. The receptionist was incredibly rude, both in person and over the phone. She repeatedly demanded payment for services that were scheduled weeks in advance and even for treatments that had already been completed and paid for. When I told her I had paid in full, she didn't take the time to check or explain — instead, she yelled at me loudly, treating me as if I were trying to get away with something. It was humiliating and completely inappropriate. Only when someone from the back office came out did she lower her voice, clearly aware that her behavior was out of line. The dental assistant, Sici (as spelled by Dr. Jang), was shockingly unprofessional and clearly lacked proper training. She wiped her hands twice on the protective bib that was placed over my chest — a serious hygiene concern. When I brought this up to Dr. Monica Neshat in front of the assistant, Dr.Neshat initially acknowledged it was unacceptable and she will talk to the dental assistant. But shortly after, she joined the assistant in mocking me for speaking up — an absolutely disgraceful and unprofessional reaction. This clinic lacks basic decency, hygiene standards in public health, and respect for patients. It's all about money, not care. Today was my last visit, and I strongly advise others to avoid this office. You deserve better treatment than this.

Fantastic experience: Modern, clean, friendly, respected by other specialists I have been going to Drs. Neshat and Yang for over a decade, even seeing them when I moved out of state. They take the time to know you and take excellent care of your teeth. When a specialist is needed, they refer you to other excellent doctors who speak very highly of them as well. Another important thing about them is their fair charges and professionalism. My husband switched to them after they confirmed that his original dentist's treatment plan had unnecessary work and was priced much higher than Drs. Neshat and Yang. You can trust them with your family's care and you won't be let down.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Neshat is awesome! She always takes the time to answer my questions and reassure me that sometimes you can do everything you're supposed to, and still get cavities. I recently had my first root canal and crown, and the experience was great (well as great as it could be -- you know what I mean)! Dr. Neshat referred me to an amazing specialist for the root Canal and then I came back and Dr. Neshat did the crown for me. Good as new just in time for the holidays!!

Fantastic experience: WE LIKE GOING TO THE DENTIST because of who are dentists are. Dr. Jang and Dr. Nashat make routine and needed visits to the dentist stressless and something you want to do. They and the hygenists are patient with patients, available for after-hour dental emergencies; and understand how to alleviate pain and anxiety of help those who have allergies to anesthetics or special medical needs prior to needed dental care. Dr. Jang and Dr. Nashat are the best dentists we have ever had -- and as a military family living in a dozen+ places, we've experienced many. Insurance claims/payments are a breeze. If only every medical and dental practice could be like this one! We recommend this team!

Positive experience: The folks at this practice are great and very thorough with the cleaning and oral exams. They take the time to explain things and are very detail oriented. This rating would have been 5 stars had it not been for a very rude front desk employee who checked me out. In my particular instance, I required a follow up for which I was told that the estimated benefits for my insurance coverage would be explained to me at check out. When I got to the desk, I mentioned that I probably owed an amount for the fluoride that was not covered for the current visit and I knew that an explanation of benefits for the follow up was being looked into and I was happy to pay for the fluoride for the current visit. The individual cut me off mid sentence to explain that we can deal with the fluoride once the benefits for the follow up were determined and seemed irritated that I was trying to be up front about my current amount owed. After the benefits for the up coming visit were determined and I agreed to the estimated amount and follow up date was scheduled, the employee then began to process my current payment for the non covered services. When I began to politely request an itemized bill in order to be able to submit it to my flexible spending account, the individual seemed irritated at the request, further explaining that I cited the wrong amount and that a detailed breakdown will be provided. I only requested the detailed break down one time in this exchange so it wasn't apparent why the request would be bothersome given in the past unless specifically requested, only a receipt was provided to me which would not have been enough to process as part of the health care spending account required detail. I will chalk this up to the person having a bad day but I was a little taken back by how short the person was, especially in a customer facing role.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Reston Family and Cosmetic Dentistry ever since I moved to NOVA in 2008 and I have always received excellent care from them.

Negative experience: We were going to be new customers, until this morning when a receptionist called. She very confidently stated my health insurance was canceled, but gave incorrect insurance companies and dates. She said my appointment would have to be delayed. It was very alarming to be told that my health insurance had been cancelled, but even though she was the one who called me, she didn’t have the time to stay on the line and allow me to discover that the office had simply ran the wrong insurance. (My employer’s health and dental plans are through different companies, a fairly common phenomenon). We will be looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I came in for a cleaning because it had been a while and because I had had a sore tooth that started out of the blue. By the time I came in, the pain had lessened, but I want to get it checked out. My hygienist Katie, was terrific. She listened to my concerns and explained all the possibilities. She did a complete set of x-rays, examined all my teeth and polished and cleaned my teeth. Dr. Jang also took a look and gave me some suggestions and things to watch for although they said my teeth and mouth looked great. The check in and check out processes were also easy and pleasant. Going to the dentist isn't usually something one looks forward to, but today's visit was a delight. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I was told about this office by a good friend of mine. Subsequently, I told my husband and our daughter about it. We are all patients there now. Although more often than not the review is written on the actual dental health providers, this review is to salute the young lady at the check-out desk; the one you might schedule appointments with and discuss insurance and payments. You will probably encounter her when you’re leaving after your appointment is done. I do wish I could remember her name. She has always been very kind, pleasant, empathetic and patient. I greatly appreciate her demeanor and the way that she works with patients as humans. Her presence in the office is a huge asset.

Positive experience: I’ve been coming to Dr Neshat and Dr Jang for a while and I have always had an excellent experience with them both. They are very knowledgeable, easy to speak with, and make seem not so much like work but like seeing old friends (but obviously it is their job and they are both professionals). The dental assistants are attentive and address any questions or dental problem areas I have, and have a nice gentle touch as I am a wimp with teeth. Wait times are general short and when I show up on time I get seen about 5 mins after I complete paperwork.

I can confirm the ratings are accurate. Check in online was simple. My appointment was on time and everyone from the front desk, to the hygienist to the dentist was friendly, professional and welcoming. I asked a ton of questions and received some valuable suggestions that I'll implement immediately. Highly recommended. I will be going back for dental work and feel confident it will be a positive experience.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit and it certainly won’t be my last! I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff and made to feel welcomed! After about ten minutes I was taken back to one of the patient rooms, and within five minutes I had an X-Ray taken. While the X-Ray was being reviewed by the Doctor, I relaxed and watched a tv show on a screen right in front of me. This helped to calm my nerves, as I had arrived somewhat nervous as I had not seen a dentist in many years. I was then greeted by Dr. Jang, who impressed me with her quiet demeanor and professionalism. We discussed my current dental issues and based on my X-Ray, she discussed in terms I could understand how she would address my particular dental concerns. I left feeling very positive and confident that Dr. Jang is the right dentist for me going forward. Fantastic experience: 15+ years of the best care, best staff. So friendly, caring, and knowledgeable.

Positive experience: I went to this practice for roughly 4-5 years. The two doctors are excellent. They have great demeanor and you can tell they are know what they are doing. The hygienist are typically very very good as well. Everyone has good days and bad days but most of the time they have good days. My real complaint with the practice and the reason I am leaving is availability. You flat out cannot get a new appointment outside of 3-4 months or if you have an emergency. So let's say you know a month out you cannot make it. You're basically screwed. You just won't have a chance to go in unless you're on the waitlist (which is fine and dandy but you got to be ready to go). They've reached the point where they have too much business. Great for them, not great for their patients.
