I have always been extremely nervous at the dentist, but even getting a crown was so easy and painless that I have zero nerves about making appointments here in the future.

I've had extensive work done including implants, crowns, tooth pulling etc. Enough to make anyone cringe. Their bedside manner, pain management, and anxiety reduction were exceptional. Fantastic experience: I have always had a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist, but Dr. Kim and the entire team completely changed that for me. I hadn’t been to the dentist in years, but they treated me with so much kindness and made me feel calm right away. I recently had to get my upper wisdom teeth removed, and I didn't feel a single bit of pain during the procedure. They constantly checked on me to make sure I was doing okay and kept me comfortable the whole time. I will definitely be coming back here from now on. I can’t recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: I came here after hearing consistent, glowing recommendations about this dental clinic. mind you, I do not live or exist anywhere near this office. I came strictly because of how many patients have spoken so highly about Dr. Han and his staff. making an appointment over the phone with the office manager, Diana, was easy; she made sure the appointment fit my schedule rather than the doctor's. I was able to fill out all my paperwork prior to my visit, so upon arrival, I checked in and was whisked to the back almost immediately. they didn't waste any time getting me set up for X-rays and reviewing my previous dental history. the hygienist took a look around and asked about any concerns I had. she was gentle and always quick to ensure I was comfortable while she was poking and prodding around. afterwards, Dr. Han popped in, and he is definitely unlike any other dentist I have ever met. he jumped right in and made sure to address any issues or topics I wanted to go over. since I didn't have many, he went through a few things he noted. it actually got to the point where he drew out a tooth to explain something to me in depth—which was a bit shocking in the best way. he pointed out a few of my "vintage" dental fillings that are no longer standard practice and made a note to have them updated. he clearly explained his goals for my teeth and what we need to do to achieve them. overall, I was so pleased with my experience here and have already booked several follow-up appointments... including getting my Invisalign set up! the ladies at the front made the scheduling process incredibly easy, and I’ve already received all my text confirmations. I truly appreciate how communicative Dr. Han is, how friendly and welcoming everyone in this office is, and how you don't feel like "just another new patient" here. I highly recommend this dental clinic for anyone looking for a new dentist!

As someone who is absolutely terrified of going to the dentist, I was incredibly anxious when I broke a tooth and needed emergency care. From the moment I called, the team was compassionate and accommodating. They got me in right away, calmed my nerves, and took the time to explain every step of the process so I knew exactly what to expect. When I learned I needed a root canal and crown, my anxiety went through the roof. Like many people, I immediately thought of pain and discomfort. However, Dr. Kim and his amazing staff completely changed my perception of dental care. They performed the root canal and placed a temporary crown the very same day, and for the first time in my life, I experienced a dental procedure that was truly painless. Dr. Kim was gentle, patient, and incredibly skilled. I was originally scheduled to return three weeks later for my permanent crown, but it arrived much sooner than expected. Diane in the office quickly worked me into the schedule, and I was able to have my permanent crown placed along with a complete dental exam just a week and a half later. Every member of the staff treated me with kindness, patience, and genuine care. Because of the exceptional experience I had, I will absolutely be bringing my children here as well. They also have fears about going to the dentist, but I know they will be in great hands at Expressions Dental. Fantastic experience: Expressions is good. Really really really good. Let's call it great. First time patient and I'm totally pleased with my experience. Woke up with immense pain in immediate need of a tooth extraction. I contacted four local practices in the morning. Expressions was the only office that made themselves available to accommodate my same day visit. We spoke at 9:30 am and I was in office at 11:00 am. New patient check in was convenient and rapid. Discussions and diagnosis were prompt and very informative by every staff member I spoke with. My expectations were completely measured and was presented with a few treatment plans. I felt very comfortable at this point and choose a fair pricing plan including needful future work. There were no adjustments or unexpected changes post treatment. Tooth extractions suck. The only way my procedure could have been better is my tooth wasn't extracted. I had minimal pain post procedure and healed very well without issue. Thank you Dr. Kim and the entire practice, for being virtuoso's in your field. You've thoroughly earned my trust and an invite to my every bbq, super bowl party, and wedding henceforth. Also I appreciated how she explained what my scans were showing and what actions were for what purpose (realized that other offices had never really educated me in this way - I appreciated that everyone at expressions took the time to explain). Also everyone was super friendly and the office just has a great positive atmosphere!

We had been there since I was a child and I want to say our family of 5 lasted there for over 20 + years. They had some staffing challenges over the last 5 years and we switched to EDC. I received a referral from a neighbor, I wanted something closer to us and took a chance. I purposefully just used that word of mouth referral and did zero research. The front desk staff is absolutely unmatched. They TRULY care. I could feel it immediately between the office managers. We had a recent insurance issue and they went above and beyond to support me through the journey. My son and I now both go there and we are greeted with hugs, education, visual aids and guides - and just a really personalized experience from 7-9 years old all the way to my early 30's when it comes to care. So glad we found them - Diamond in the rough!

The front desk folks were very friendly and efficient, even calling my dental insurance carrier to negotiate coverage for me. They took multiple expressions and scans to get a full picture of my teeth. Dr. Kaur spent more time than any dentist I've ever had explaining how my teeth are doing and what my options are. I appreciated the time she spent with me answering my questions. Overall, I was impressed with their service, patient friendliness and general thoroughness during the visit!

I had been looking to switch providers and finally made the move; it was well worth it. Scheduling online was easy, and you can fill out your documentation prior to the visit. If any changes need to be made to your appointment, they call you promptly to work out the adjustments. Upon entering the office, you’ll find a clean and calm environment. You’re greeted by the office manager (or receptionist), who keeps you updated on your wait time. The staff is friendly, and from what I gathered during my exam and cleaning, they remember the little things you tell them. This is wonderful if you want to be seen as more than just a number. Once it’s time for your appointment, you'll be called to the back. They are very transparent, explaining the process and notifying you of any additional recommendations. The entire exam and cleaning were seamless. It’s clear the dentists and staff are highly knowledgeable; a cohesive team really "makes the dream work," as my motto goes. P.S. If you need fluoride varnish, I recommend getting it done here. Applying it yourself is definitely not as easy as I thought!

I came in for a routine cleaning, and they didn’t rush a thing. Linh took real time to understand my dental history and explain the path forward. Meanwhile, Channa and Diana jumped in to solve my insurance issue on the spot: no card, barely any info, yet they handled it like investigators and relieved me of a headache before my appointment even started. Then came the bigger surprise: I needed two crowns, something I thought would take weeks to schedule. Instead, they found a same-day solution with zero inconvenience nor delay! Dr. Core handled the procedure with unquestionable precision, explained every step, checked in constantly and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Pain? Minimal. And thanks to her attention to detail and expertise, you could tell it was under control from the start. This was only three days ago and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. I’ve never said that about dental work in my life, but this office earned it. Huge thank you to the team: Linh, Channa, Diana, Mara, Emily, and Kaylee. Fantastic experience: My entire life I struggled when it came to dental work so I don’t leave this review lightly. I struggled for a long time keeping up with my oral hygiene and had thought I was a lost cause and didn’t have a lot of hope. All my previous dentist in the past I had worked with made things seem like way bigger problems than they actually were. I live close to expressions dental care so I figured I’d give them a shot to get a cleaning at least, and they did the exam, they did the x-rays and explained that I actually wasn’t nearly as bad off as I thought I was. They explained things clearly, made me feel comfortable so I started the process of getting everything I needed to get done taken care of. Root canal, multiple fillings, crown replacement, deep cleaning and whitening. This was the least painful process ive ever experience with dental work. I was convinced I would always need sedation dentistry but I’m actually glad I didn’t go the sedation route because it was totally unnecessary. In a matter of 3 weeks I have had an entire restoration of my mouth and I can confidently smile again. This was a complete transformation and I have never felt better. The entire staff is extremely professional, very caring and compassionate, highly skilled, and did an excellent job at making sure the entire process was comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this dental practice. 10/10. You won’t regret it.

Updating my review as I had a recent experience, this time with my 2 year old son, who had his first Dental Visit - There was some obvious fear that his experience would not be pleasant given the surroundings, instruments and the overall environment. After coaxing him into the chair, all the staff, including the front desk, came over and gave him words of encouragement and stayed by his side the entire time while he was getting his procedure and it was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Granted, it was only a cleaning but the the level of care they showed me and my son during his first experience will stay with me for a lifetime. I can't remember an establishment along with their staff to go that far to make sure my son's first dental experience was a great one. Dr. Han, Dr. Ho and the front desk staff are always upfront, honest and forthcoming when conveying information. Sometimes the information isn't what you want to hear, but what needs to be said should make an impact on changing your brushing habits for the better. Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. The dental hygentist and Dr. Patel were wonderful with my elderly mom. They were sensitive to her cognitive needs and really worked slowly and at comfortable pace for her. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Han and his entire staff (s/o Kaley!!). I’ve never felt more like my health is genuinely cared about at any medical office than at Expressions Dental. On top of that they’re extremely skilled and thorough with their treatment. I’ll be coming here hopefully for perpetuity.

Negative experience: Friendly and attentive staff but the services are overpriced compared to other dentists in the area, even on the same insurance. They told my wife she needed a ton of expensive work done. When she went to another dentist to get a second opinion, they said the majority of that work was unnecessary and gave a quote that was almost 10X less what this place would have charged. Again, same insurance. Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and Doctor. My first visit was for a dental emergency and everyone there was amazing. Friendly, competent, patient, and every staff member genuinely seemed to care for their patients. I have extreme dental anxiety from past negative experiences and Expressions couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable and confident in them. I will be switching from my regular dentist to Expressions Dental Care and highly recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Impeccable staff; exceptional care! I came to this dentist office a year ago, and together, the team has worked to fully restore my oral health after a large gap in receiving routine exams/checkups. Hands down, they've provided the most thorough oral exams, gentle procedures, satisfactory answers to my questions, and solid recommendations. The administrative team, the hygienists, and the dentists are always kind and understanding. I'm so very pleased with their customer service and comprehensive care. They're the absolute best.

Fantastic experience: THE TEAM -CHELSEA:) best hygienist ever!!! DIANA, CHANNA spectacular service ROZELL & LINH and DR. HAN are magnificent! Make me feel right at home! Fantastic experience: Dr. Kaur was absolutely professional, considerate and professional. She walk me through the process before hand. In the process of applying anesthesia, before is the best dentist I have ever in countered. I will definitely be seeing her again. The staff was outstanding.

My experience was nothing short of a 5 star experience from when I was greeted at reception to Rozell rubbing my shoulder to comfort me to the professional care I received from Dr. Patel. Fantastic experience: So far so good. I have a follow up on Friday. I absolutely HATE going to the doctor of any kind. My mouth was in pain. I was grumpy. Just going to work dealing with it. My lovely girl friend who is also a patient here made the call for me. I got set up with the same day appointment treatment. They made me comfortable and got the job done like professionals.

Fantastic experience: I thought they did wonderful, the surgeon was very cautious. Took her time in doing the procedure right. Gave out excellent instructions for me to download for aftercare. If she thinks you need extra anesthesia she will definitely give it you. I would also say that she is concerned about her patients being in pain, she will go the extra mile. Fantastic experience: The staff were polite, caring, and professional. It was discovered I had an abscess. Other dentists did not find my abscess, but Dr. Yoon did. She immediately referred me to an endodontist for treatment.

Fantastic experience: I just came back to the Expressions Dental Office and it continues to be my favorite dentist office I've ever been to! Although there was no wine on account of it being Monday, the staff was still very happy even though it was a Monday! They complimented me often with one of their staff even going so far as to ask if I had lost weight!!! Even though I regularly don't do what they tell me to do in between visits they don't scold me too much. Just enough so that I might actually do what they recommend this time. I really didn't see the point of dentistry very much before I came to Expressions as I am of British descent and we just have learned to live with horrible teeth, but now they have me considering waterpics and flossing, and invisiline and electric toothbrushes and things I don't even understand!!! Of course the staff gave me a gift bag when I left full of dental tidbits like toothbrushes and stuff!! They're the best!!! Once again the cavity creeps have been stopped cold by the kind folks at Expressions!! And the nice ladies there think I will now have many dates this Spring with my new barely socially acceptable hygiene practices. Did you know your tongue can have a ton of bacteria on it as well as your teeth and gums? WHO EVEN KNEW? Not the kind of women I'm used to hanging out with, for sure!!! All other dentists should join Expressions. They are on a mission to STOP the cavity creeps once and for all!!! I love you Chris

Negative experience: Please do not go here, as soon as you enter they are ready to ‘fleece’ you and your insurance. You will spend up to 3 hours for your X-rays on the initial visit and no cleaning, instead they will use scare tactics and recommend you get unnecessary work done with astronomical out of pocket expenses. I cancelled all my appointments and they still ended billing my insurance company after they told me there would be no charges. I received a bill from them 3 months later to pay them out of pocket and they won’t release my X-rays (paid by insurance); which is illegal in the state of VA. Avoid Avoid Avoid Update February 2024- I am still waiting to hear from you.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel has replaced several of my old feelings. He did a great job. He was very polite and nice. It was a great experience having my dental work done at Expressions. Dental care.

Negative experience: The staff here may be great, however their business and medical practices are questionable. They take advantage of their senior/dementia patients by recommending a slew of (expensive) and painful procedures which are not medically necessary to their unknowing families.

Fantastic experience: Expressions is a great dentistry practice. Number one reason? The staff. Diana is always so welcoming and remembers all the special details currently going on with you personally. Lynn is so personable and always a joy to see. She always has a smile and puts you at ease. Rozell is the backbone and a mainstay. She has a great sense of humor and also is always tuned in. Last but not least Tiffany and Channa are newer to me but they always are full of energy and are on top of things. Dr Han is pretty good too. That’s a joke. He is wonderful and I’ve been going to his practice for close to 5 years now. Expressions is a great overall experience and you can’t say that very often when going to see the dentist!

Fantastic experience: Super scheduling, and absolutely outstanding work. Very fairly priced with an incredible soft touch—making root canal pretty much painless while accommodating my sensitivities to sound and light. Am very grateful to have kind, honest dentists that happen to be exceptional.

Negative experience: I had an absolutely miserable experience with Dr. Ashraghi. I had perfectly straight teeth and never needed braces. After paying $1000 for 2 crowns last November, my entire bite shifted, and I have not been able to REST my mouth comfortably for literally MONTHS, which has led to extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep loss. This has been absolutely catastrophic and extremely traumatic to my mental health. When I voiced these concerns to her in January, she was dismissive and told me it wasn't a problem. I am STILL unable to rest comfortably without my front teeth touching. I need to have Invisalign clear aligners to fix this issue, but it's still not comfortable after 5 months of treatment, and I'll need to wear aligners for many more months to fix this issue. I've filed a complaint about this to the Virginia board of dentistry. Do NOT trust these dentists and always get a second opinion before getting crowns. edit: I'm not interested in hearing from you, and I'm not deleting this review. edit 2: it's literally 2 years later, and I'm still not comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Yoon is an advanced, meticulous, friendly, and cheerful dentist who always makes me feel at ease and explains every step before we start treatment. You can tell she loves her profession, because she is always talking about the advanced dental courses she takes and the research journals she keeps up with to ensure her work is conservative, high quality, and long lasting. I feel really lucky to have her as my dentist. You will be in great hands with Dr. Yoon.

Fantastic experience: The team at Expressions Dental Care have truly take good care of me and my mouth over the past 6 months. I came to them as an emergency new patient, with an abscess from a previous old root canal/crown. They saw me on a Friday afternoon (when no one else would) and immediately assuaged the pain and diagnosed the issue. The treatment was lengthy and laborious, but they were always ready to work with me and meet me where my needs were (scheduling, financial, and comfort). I am grateful for Dr. Han, Dr. Yoon, Lin, Roselle, Chelsea , Deyli and all of the staff there who have been so kind and communicative with me- they have won me over as a regular client.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Han and everyone at Expressions Dental have taken very good care of my troublesome teeth over the years. All the staff are welcoming and friendly - Diana, Tiffany, Chelsea, Deyle, and Dr. Yoon helped me today for my cleaning, exam, and a night guard scan. Chelsea has gotten my teeth and gums clean and healthier, takes the time to answer questions and educate, and motivates me to maintain better at-home habits in between visits. In my experience, they run on-time for their appointments which I appreciate. My husband is a patient too. We recommend them!
