Young and the hygienists are thorough, gentle, and take the time to explain everything they're doing and why, which we really appreciate. Over the years, they've taken great care of every member of our family, from routine cleanings to more involved procedures, and it's clear they genuinely care about their patients. The office is always clean and modern, and they're great about walking us through treatment options and costs upfront so there are never any surprises. Negative experience: The receptionist and the dental techs and other associates were absolutely amazing. Special shout out to Bernadette she was wonderful...however, the actual dentist was BRUTAL. She was absolutely NOT gentle with me and caused me a tremendous amount of pain with no care for me at all. She did not explain anything she was doing and was very cold. A week after having a tooth pulled and following her intlstructions i was still in a ton of pain. I called and they agreed to see me but were in a huge rush. (If you don't have time to treat me properly just refer me to someone else please) . She was incredibly rushed and explained nothing to me while she took out a needle and jabbed me in the mouth . Then she without explanation started packing medicated gauze into my tooth hole while I cried and flailed from the pain. Then she told me I should have followed her instructions for two week instead of the original 4 days she told me and booted me out the door. I left in tears and no better than when I came in. I had to see another dentist at a different office today because as it turns out I had an infection. Absolutely will not be returning. She is not gentle nor does she show care to her patients. This could have ended pretty badly for me but thankfully I found a better dentist. Again, the rest of her staff was phenomenal! Unfortunately she was not

Sometimes a change is good and for me the dentist and hygienist found a problem that could have been very serious if it wasn't taken care of. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Derry Dental for a very long time and have always appreciated the level of care and the personal attention I have received from everyone associated with the practice. This tradition of excellence is certainly reflected in my experiences with Dr. Erik and his staff. Dr Erik is an amazing communicator and a consummate professional. He never makes me feel rushed and seems to be genuinely concerned that I am fully informed about my oral health. When a problem arises, he explains what he sees in the x-rays and thoroughly discusses options. He is skilled in the latest technology and does everything possible to make me comfortable when a procedure is required. In addition, Dr. Erik surrounds himself with an exceptionally warm and welcoming team. It is evident that he has a great deal of confidence in the level of expertise of his assistants. My hygienist is not only extremely thorough but also has a delightful personality that makes it easy to relax. The office staff is efficient and friendly and very accommodating to my schedule. Usually my visits to the dentist are limited to routine cleanings and the occasional cavity or crown. However, during my spring visit, my hygienist noticed an abscess in a tooth. A root canal had been performed on the tooth several years ago and obtaining an implant seemed the best course of action. After explaining the procedure thoroughly, Dr. Erik removed the tooth and inserted the implant. Today, I received the permanent crown and am happy to report that I am delighted with my new tooth. I know that Dr. Erik and his team would have it no other way.

Negative experience: I went to derry dental and I knew I needed full dentures. My teeth were pretty bad. However, we paid to have my dentures done all the tooth pulling everything. On my last visit prior to the surgery, I let them know that I did not want implants. They had to put me under, they did my upper and lower, and they did bone grafting. I had the teeth put in immediately, which to my understanding was the temporary dentures. When I went from my last visit, I was told, well, everything is fine and we'll just add.And these will hold you, these will be fine. Now I find out that what I have in these teeth is a temporary component. We paid a lot of money out-of-pocket. And they never gave me my permanent teeth. Not only that, when I went and he added a filling onto the dentures, he left it in too long and it got stuck in my mouth. That was very painful in very scary. Now I realize that I have teeth in my mouth, that may not last maybe five or six years, but I paid to have permanent dentures. Now to and a 1 years later, my dentrs don't fit. I am in pain, and I can barely bite into anything without having to replace the denture.Filler, at least 3 to 4 times a day. I should have gone to Aspen dental. Like my husband did, because they did an amazing job.And they didn't screw him over.

Negative experience: The female staff behind the counter & dental technicians are always very warm and sweet, unconditionally. Edit: However - after going to them for at least a couple years, communicating and working with them in order for me to fix whatever restorative work I needed to do, I finally did all of the things after numerous appointments. When I went into my last cleaning with them (thinking we'd *finally* discuss finally getting Invisalign), they chipped one of my teeth during the cleaning. After being told I had to pay for it being restored, I admittedly was visibly frustrated, however still very decent with all things considered. When I FINALLY came in to get my filling, Dr. Karen went out of her way to pounce on me, sit there and scratch my teeth with that demonic sickle tool, and at the same time explain to me "this is why your tooth was chipped!!" while literally hurting me. It took me saying "alright, I GET IT" for it to stop. When she shifted the dental chair without word, which made me jump, she exclaimed "are YOU okay?", as if I'm not completely on edge at this point. Afterwards, she shamelessly and in a petty act, asked me to delete my Google review after the ordeal (funnily enough, I had already thought about doing so). And to top it off - after they got my money for the filling, they never called me for my routine cleaning after 6 months, and then on after for several months. Lastly, my comment with one star was referring to the staff behind the counter primarily, as they were unconditionally kind to me after I was obviously frustrated with the situation during my last visit, and have always been beforehand. The one star is dedicated and directly isolated to Dr. Karen alone, and nobody else. That includes the female staff behind the counter, the technician being warm and friendly and complimenting my tattoo, etc (who, lets be real, already knew I had a bad experience beforehand). Just Dr. Karen.

Fantastic experience: Dr Erik Young Is by far the best dentist I have ever seen. Thorough in his explanations and how I should care for my teeth. Some doctors will know you by face. Dr Erik takes the time to get to know his patients and so now, our conversations are similar to chatting with a life-long friend. Bernadette is also outstanding. Made the process of my visit quite enjoyable. She is kind and gentle and it was over in a snap. Great sense of humor as well. Maybe I'll eat a box of oreo cookies before my next visit and get my money's worth! On second thought, I couldn't do that to her. Dana and the staff always greet me with a smile (it is a dentist office so smiles are also representing the brand!), send friendly reminders prior to appointments, and handle all of the insurance billing so I don't have to. All in all, the staff are top notch and I won't go to any other practice for as long as I have teeth.

Fantastic experience: I have always gotten outstanding dental care at Derry Dental. No pain, minimum discomfort, no upselling, friendly and helpful staff, and great outcomes. There’s no place that’s better in the Derry area. Great experience again today, as always. If you are looking for a dentist in the Derry area, this is the place to go.

Negative experience: Over a year has gone by since visiting Dr Karen Young and I can say I am no more pleased today than I was a year ago. Dr Karen wrote up a treatment plan stating 5 teeth were in need of fillings for a total of around $1,000. This sudden and "urgent" need for 5 different fillings sparked me to visit several other, much more highly regarded dentists, all of whom agreed there was no need for fillings and that my teeth are perfectly healthy. Fast forward over a year later, my xray show my teeth to still be perfectly healthy with ZERO demineralization. This, in my opinion, is an enexcusable action on her part and I am happy to provide proof of my experience, xrays etc to anyone curious about their experience or potential experience with Dr Karen Young. Attached, you will find the teeth in question on November 17th, 2025, well over a year since the treatment plan was provided. Dr Karen stated these were urgently needed, and that the "demineralization" would only get worse. I will make it my mission to ensure other potential customers are aware of my experience, and will also be involving the state licensing board. I will also be requesting all documentation regarding the other cavities she had done due to the negligence and the lifelong issues I would have had with these perfectly healthy teeth if I had moved forward, and not gotten a second opinion.

Fantastic experience: Hygienist does a great job using the latest technology. Dentist provides detailed oral checks including the gums, tongue, and back of throat; looking for any signs of disease. The office staff handles the insurance and payments flawlessly and without issues. I recently completed a 8-month Invisalign treatment to correct crooked teeth. The Invisalign was easy to use, painless, and did a remarkable job realigning my teeth. I am now using it to whiten my teeth. All I can say is "Hollywood smile".

He explains things so you understand exactly what is necessary for each solution. His hands are very skilled and gentle so trust is realized very quickly. Fantastic experience: I have been unable to have dental treatment for a while because I have been having cancer treatment. So I was alarmed when I broke a piece off a back molar. My husband recommended Derry Dental. They saw me right away. Three hours later I had a perfect crown fitted and a reasonable bill to pay. Terrific, attentive and kind treatment. I highly recommend them.

Above was my original review, since I have had a crown and filling, and I have a consult scheduled for a possible implant. As always the staff is very friendly and informative. Since this visit Derry Dental has gone out of their way to assist with scheduling a specialist. The office management at this establishment needs to be commended. I spend a great deal of my time making calls to providers that I should not have to make. Derry Dental should consider offering training to other medical providers on how to best run an office.

Fantastic experience: The dentists Eric and Karen Young are great. I've known them for many years and would not think of going anywhere else. The staff are also great. They are friendly and skillful in what they do.
