New England Dental Group

Negative experience: I used to really like this practice, but my experience in 2023 changed that completely. I went in for a cracked tooth and specifically made an appointment to see the dentist. When I arrived, they insisted I had to have a cleaning first, even though I did not come in for a cleaning. They also took X-rays, which I assumed were for the cracked tooth, but nothing was clearly explained. Throughout the appointment I was told I would see the dentist afterward. I even heard him talking in the hallway outside my room, but he never came in. After more than an hour of waiting, they finally told me he “had an emergency surgery,” which didn’t seem truthful based on what I overheard. In the end, nothing was done about the reason I was there. No evaluation of the cracked tooth, no next steps, no treatment. I had to go to a completely different practice to actually get help. Despite that, they sent me a bill for about $250 after insurance. I disputed it because I never received the care I came in for. Someone from Londonderry agreed with me and I didn't hear back from New England Dental Group for over a year, when I received a bill again. I disputed it again, at that time I was told the balance would be waived. I thought that was the end of it. Now, more than two years later, they’re billing me again for services I didn’t ask for and never wanted. I don’t blame the person who tried to help me, I blame the corporate system behind this practice. I cannot recommend this dental group. It feels like it’s become more about money than patient care.

Fantastic experience: I have been getting my teeth cleaned with water flossers for decades. There is always a varying degree of discomfort that accompanies this cleaning technique for me. Allie (not sure if this is the correct spelling) cleaned my teeth for the first time today, and there was absolutely zero discomfort. As with everyone at NED, she was attentive and professional. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: I wouldn't normally rave about having a cavity filled, but my experience was so good with Dr Patel that it made me glad to have chosen this dental office. The procedure was quick, painless, and felt afterward like nothing had happened (no discomfort or uneven bite). He also quickly fixed my permanent retainer wire as a last minute request, something a previous dentist had denied me. That was huge.

After having a complete check up and cleaning I decided I couldn’t deal with how my 2 front teeth looked anymore. Today, I can smile once again without feeling ashamed. My smile is back and I owe it all to the great job by NEDG-Londonderry!

Fantastic experience: The staff are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They are not a practice that advocates for dental treatments you don't need. The equipment used is top of the line. Management seems to really take care of their staff.

Fantastic experience: I got a filling and was in and out in a half hour. They are so wonderful and everyone is so nice! They were awesome when I got my cleaning as well. They explain everything they are doing, as they are doing it and ensure your are comfortable and ready to proceed before starting work.

Negative experience: When Dr Calvin was there it was always comforting and coming from someone with severe anxiety with dentist it says a lot. You would have someone greet you when you went in. Now they only face the exit side. The hygienist I had was quite possibly the fastest and worst experience ever. I have a problem tooth that I was sent to an Endodontist by Dr Calvin but when I was sent back to him for help, I got none. I was told by the new dentist I needed $1000's of work but not 1 mention of my problem tooth that hurts. I am lost now and do not know where to turn. Not a good feeling at all from start to finish.

Fantastic experience: My first time visiting the Londonderry office and the Hygienist was efficient and knowledgeable. The assistants really seemed to enjoy their work and the front office staff was courteous and professional. Will visit again.

Negative experience: I felt like I was in a Three Stooges show…assistant didn’t seem to know which instrument to hand doctor…..some equipment didn’t work proper…..there were 4 people at one time trying to fix…….didn’t get my crown…….did get temp crown, headache and sore jaw

Fantastic experience: Just had a cleaning with Lydia/Lidia and she was wonderful. Clean beautiful office and high tech equipment!

Negative experience: I was extremely disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Matthews today. After spending over $500. on X-rays, I learned very little at my dental checkup. The X-rays weren't even shown to me. I was told I had periodontal gum disease (which I don't believe-I have no e of the symptoms) but nothing about this was pointed out to me on X-ray or explained to me. Dr. Matthews was very short with me whenever I attempted to ask a question and made it very clear she had no time to answer my questions. She clearly had no time for me. When I went to check out I was told I would have to have 2 Specialized Dental Cleaning which would total over $3,000. Dr. Matthews didn't take the time to tell me about this or to explain anything about it to me. She is the complete opposite of Dr. Calvin, who was the Dentist at this before her. He took the time to explain issues and truly showed an interest in his patients. I will not return to this Dentist for my dental care. I would like to have the X-rays sent to me that I spent over $500. On. The Office Staff were very kind and helpful and I thank them. L.Clarke

Dr. Calvin is trustworthy, compassionate, and thorough. He’s not a salesman trying to drain your pockets with what isn’t necessary but makes sure you are on target to get everything you need. The best Dental office I’ve been to in a long time.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist at Dr. Calvin's did an excellent job of explaining what she was going to do as she completed her checks and cleaning tasks. I am 66. She explained the proper brushing technique that is especially important to practice as gums recede with age, as mine are doing. She was gentle and thoughtful. I am adding an update in January of 2022 to say how much I appreciate Dr. Calvin for seeing me on the same day that I recently called to report a potentially serious problem. It turned out to be harmless, but he was very understanding and told me to come back if it reoccurred or got worse. This is an excellent dental practice that I highly recommend.
