Negative experience: I went there originally for a filling in my front tooth. Dr. Sonia was amazing and never experienced a hand like hers, didn't feel a thing. Wish I could say the same for her husband Dr.Sam. Not knowing that at the time, I scheduled a cleaning after. I will say the hygienist was also great. Unfortunately, I started to experience pain in a tooth I knew needed to be extracted. I expressed that I wanted it extracted. So when I went back I requested it be looked at because I was in pain. I was given antibiotics the day before my cleaning. No one really looked at it because only Dr. Sam does the extractions or root canals, he wasn't there. I was told they wouldnt take it out, that I had to do a root canal. Not really understanding what that entailed but I was in pain. So I booked it ASAP. Which was after the antibiotics were finished, at least 7 days. Now the day of the third appointment I was put in a way to small room. The doctor didn't even introduce himself. I had to ask his name. I'm given paperwork to read and sign that stated they may need to take it out anyway, which is what I wanted in the first place! So of course I had questions because I have never had a root canal. He was very rushed that day and seemed distracted. However, I advocated for myself, which forced him to slow down. Overall, just not good service and disjointed practices. I felt like no one listened to my needs and what I wanted. Had someone properly looked at my tooth and listened then I would of gotten the extraction ASAP. Instead they wanted to try a procedure that failed. I was sent home with work that also failed and had to be rushed to someone else, the day before thanksgiving. Now, this is the part where I decided to write this saga of a review because I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR THE FAILED PROCEDURE. An incomplete tooth canal and even though the insurance paid them over $300 just for that one visit, I was charged an additional $77 dollars. Least they could of done is written that off considering they were also paid for my previous two visits, to the point where my dental insurance benefits were maxed out with them. Medical billing/coding and management administration is what I been doing for over 20 years. The truth is no one cared enough to follow up on at ANY point in my care. So I paid it, posted this and I will not be going back there. Edit: 5 hours after I posted the original review, Dr Sam did call me and he did listen. So I toned down the review to three stars. Dr.Sam acknowledged miscommunications, validated my view of the billing practices and apologized. Going so far as to say that he would bring this up to staff. Gonna have give that one up to God. Hopefully, my experience helps the next person.

Our goal in every case is to provide the most appropriate treatment based on a clinical examination and the patient’s symptoms. In situations where a tooth is severely decayed or infected, there are often two possible paths: extraction or an attempt to save the tooth through endodontic therapy. Many patients understandably prefer to preserve their natural tooth when possible, and treatment recommendations are made based on what is medically appropriate at the time of evaluation.
We are sorry to hear that you felt your concerns were not fully addressed during your visit. We take communication seriously, and we never want a patient to feel rushed or unheard. We also regret the frustration surrounding the scheduling and referral process. When urgent surgical care is needed, we work to coordinate promptly with oral surgery specialists and transmit records securely to ensure continuity of care.
Regarding billing, dental procedures are billed based on the treatment performed and insurance processing guidelines. However, we understand that unexpected charges can be upsetting, and we always encourage patients to contact our office so we can review any concerns in detail.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Dr. Sonia for Botox to treat my TMJ. This was my first time ever getting Botox, and Dr. Sonia took the time to explain everything thoroughly, which made me feel completely comfortable and confident in the process. Fantastic experience: Been on a long journey with this place and im never finding another dentist. Dr. Sonia is very kind and absolutely knows what she is doing. Dr. Sameer is straight to the point and is an absolute wizard with teeth. All the staff are very kind and theyre graceful financially. After multiple extractions, fillings, dentures, I can confidently say this is my favorite dentist ive ever visited. They listen to me and work with any complaint I have, theyre easily accessible, I mean I dont know what more you can realistically ask from a dentist. Absolutely wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sam is absolutely fantastic! He diagnosed my fracture tooth that previously went undiagnosed at my previous dentist despite being in pain for over a year. So thankful that my pain will finally be gone. He was reassuring when I mention how nervous I was about the implant procedure, which helped to alleviate the apprehension I was feeling. Fantastic experience: After a crown on my molar unexpectedly failed and fractured the tooth below the gum line, I was anxious about what came next. Thankfully, my experience getting a dental implant could not have gone more smoothly. Dr. Sam was able to remove the broken tooth and place the implant during the same appointment, which saved me time and an extra procedure. I was pleasantly surprised by how minimal the pain was, just some mild soreness for a day or two, which was easily managed with over-the-counter meds. The healing process was much quicker than I anticipated, and I was back to my regular routine quickly. The office runs efficiently, with prompt appointments, clear communication, and transparent and fair pricing. Dr. Sam was kind, calm, and incredibly informative throughout the process. He made sure I understood each step and answered all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed. Negative experience: I’ve been a patient at Dental Arts of Salem for a while now, but I’m finally fed up. Every visit seems to involve waiting—for no apparent reason. Even when I show up on time for an appointment, they’re often not ready. I’ve had to sit around well past my scheduled time, which completely disrupts my day. What’s worse, there doesn’t seem to be much effort to respect patients' time or communicate delays. It feels like they expect me to be flexible for them, but they’re not flexible for their patients. Dental care is important, but so is valuing your customers. Unfortunately, that seems to be missing here.

Negative experience: They don’t know how to properly set fillings. I have been a patient here since 2021. In that time, I have had 3 out of the 3 fillings done by Dr. Suranyi fall out… in fact, the replacement filling he did fell out too! Additionally, they tried to charge me to fix their mistake. I will not be returning. EDIT: I added a star because the office kindly followed up with me after this review and went over each incident with me, which I do appreciate. I was made aware that 1 out of the 3 fillings was actually done by Dr. Ashley and the replacement and second filling that fell out was done by Dr. Suranyi. It was also brought to my attention I had my dates wrong. To update: the longest lasting filling I received from Dental Arts of Salem was around 3 years and the shortest was 9 months. I was asked if I wanted it fixed again but was also told that they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't charge me to fix it. This has solidified my decision to switch to another office.

Negative experience: They have great customer service but Dr. Suryani had to fix one of my fillings and ended up hitting one of my nerves. When I told him to fix it he just looked it and didn't do anything to fix it. Its been so painful to floss for the past year.

Fantastic experience: Being new to the area and having some tooth pain I thought I would never find a practice or Hygienist or Dentist that could match my previous. Well wow was I wrong. From the moment I walked in and was warmly greeted to the moment I walked out the door I was so very pleasantly surprised at how great an experience I had. Candice was the Hygienist that explained what she thought was going on (which was minor) she cleaned my teeth. I have seriously not have had a better cleaning. She was so very thorough, kind and caring and so very personable. I was then seen by a fantastic Dentist who gave me a diagnosis , checked all of my other teeth. Also very gentle kind and personable. I was then walked to the desk where I found the price for xrays, exam, cleaning super reasonably priced. If you need a cleaning or some work done . Dental Arts of Salem is the place to go. Don't hesitate!

Fantastic experience: I love this practice. Very respectful, knowledgeable, easy to work with. I hate Dentist and had not been for years. I did not get scolded and they were very gentle and kind. Next week a root canal. All of the pricing was upfront. I was going to put it off until next year (Just another week) but the receptionist pointed out that my plan still had money left for this year. If I could do it before the 31st I would have the full insurance allotment for next year incase the ither tooth they need to work out proves problematic. I could not be happier!

Fantastic experience: Dental Arts stepped up and corrected a failed front tooth that broke off at the gum line right before starting a new job!
