Experiencia negativa: . I had an appointment today, and only after the appointment was finished was I informed that my insurance was no longer in network. This should have been communicated to me before any treatment was provided, not afterward. I was also told that they had emailed my mother, but then they said that because I am now 18, they no longer need to communicate with her. Regardless, this information should have been clearly communicated to me at the beginning of my appointment so I could make an informed decision. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced poor communication with this office. Last year, there was a balance due, and my mother repeatedly emailed asking for details but never received a clear response. The office claimed they had sent an email, but it was vague and did not explain the charges. My mother paid the balance, and we were also asked to leave a $100 deposit for future visits, which we had no issue doing. At my previous appointment, I specifically asked to have my teeth shaved down. Again, no one informed me there would be an additional charge until after the procedure was completed. This pattern of failing to disclose costs beforehand has happened repeatedly. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and communication. Patients deserve to know about insurance issues and any additional fees before treatment begins so they can make informed decisions. Because this has happened multiple times, I will not be returning to this office, and I will be sharing my experience with others

Thankfully I was clearly communicated with as far as billing, insurance, and my care plan because the world of dental care can be so confusing and misleading without all of the proper information. Asking the question and getting the answers I needed built my trust right away and then all of my treatments have been handled by a skilled dentist who makes me feel confident in her work and knowledge. I will definitely be returning to this dental office for anything I need in the future!

Experiencia negativa: I was a patient at Walnut Creek Dental Studio for about three years. My care was routine, and my experiences were generally positive—I even referred several friends. My only prior complaint was that their billing and reimbursement process was cumbersome and inconvenient. For the first time in three years, I needed to cancel an appointment because of a family emergency. I was told I would be charged a $70 cancellation fee. I asked whether they could make an exception, but they declined, explaining that the policy was included in the paperwork I had signed when I became a patient three years earlier, which I don't remember. Rather than cancel, I rearranged everything and made it to the appointment. A month later, I received a letter stating that the practice would no longer provide me with dental care because we had been "unable to reach a mutual understanding regarding our appointment policies and related fees." That decision is what I find most concerning. This wasn't a pattern of missed appointments or repeated conflicts—it was a single attempted cancellation due to a family emergency, and I ultimately kept the appointment anyway. Healthcare isn't like most businesses. Providers have a responsibility to care for patients over time, and continuity of care matters. Healthcare providers are entrusted with more than delivering a service—they're entrusted with patients' health. That's why dismissing an established patient over a single attempted cancellation due to a family emergency felt so disproportionate to me. It suggested that enforcing policy took precedence over preserving the patient relationship and patient health. If you're considering this practice, just be aware that their appointment policies appear to leave very little room for exceptional circumstances.

Sophie and Renee are both amazingly talented dental hygienists and all around fabulous humans, and Lexie at the desk is so warm and down to earth, always takes care of me and explains everything. Dr. Davidson is a stellar dentist and I enjoy catching up with her, I absolutely love my visits! Just had to shout out my people here because they really do make me feel like family. They've been there for laughs, hugs, hard life moments. They're more than just a dental office to me, and that kind of place is hard to find these days. UPDATE: Still loving everything about Walnut Creek Dental Studio! The people here make all the difference. I have been coming here for about two years now, and each time I look forward to it. As a kid, I dreaded going to the dentist because I knew it would be boring and painful. Total opposite here. I have really gotten to know the staff, and they always remember what was going on with me even when I haven't seen them in six months. I enjoy hearing about their life updates, too! It is so nice to bond with the people that are taking care of such a vulnerable and sensitive part of you. Both Renee (special shoutout to Renee, she is the best and the sweetest! My girl!) and Dr. Davidson make comfort the number one priority. They will always check-in with you or adjust what they're doing if something feels even a little off or ouch-y. This is a treasure of a dental office. _____________ Umm, love, love, LOVE my new dentist! I just moved to Walnut Creek and needed to find a new dentist relatively quickly, as I had not been to the dentist for a cleaning in a little over a year (I know, bad, but COVID is an excuse, right?). I went based off Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed! First of all, it is super easy to book an appointment online. I was surprised and pleased with how quickly I got an appointment! Their online "new patient" forms are super straightforward and easy to get done. When I came in for my cleaning, I was taken in by Lala, who is such a rockstar and honestly feels like your best friend from the start. She is fun to talk with and makes sure you have everything you need to be totally comfortable. Dr. Davidson is incredibly brilliant and has an excellent bedside manner. She has a great ability to tell you what you is going on in your mouth without sugarcoating it, but also without inducing too much anxiety (dental stuff can be scary if you're a worry-wart like me!). She takes the time to explain everything to you and answer your questions. Dr. Davidson immediately spotted two cavities, one of which had been marinating for a couple of years! Gross! She also alerted me to some inflammation going on and told me exactly what I need to do to address this. She came up with a treatment plan that made me breathe a sigh of relief. Renee was my dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth. I was super impressed with her level of knowledge and all the tips she had for brushing and flossing. Brenda at the front desk is really warm and helped me understand my insurance plan a lot better. I was able to get in right away again to have those gnarly cavities addressed. The pain was very minimal and I was out of there in under two hours. Dr. Davidson again gave me realistic advice to prepare me for any potential complications, like a root canal, even if unlikely. She spent time to tell me what I should and shouldn't be concerned about. I can't say enough good things about this dental studio and their team. Amazing staff, amazing doctor, and oh - I almost forgot - check out the view from the chair in my photo! The whole studio gives you a sense of calm. Words can not describe how caring and knowledgeable she is. I highly recommend her. She has a great team and office staff. My bite was completely off and I was suffering from severe clenching during sleep. She is the only dentist who found the root cause and recommended a treatment plan which has helped me tremendously. Experiencia fantástica: Yesterday my husband and I went for our regular teeth cleaning. Once again the hygienists were thorough and considerate! We did not see Dr. Davidson but was seen by Dr. Ghalemi who was personable in explaining care. X-ray's revealed a possible problem with some decay under one of my crowns, so I was advised to check further. The receptionist was helpful in dealing with further appointments. We greatly appreciated getting the senior discount as the cost of dental care, like all else, is rising! As we go way back to the days of Dr. Loder, we hope to continue our dental care with WCDS!

After struggling for years from an ill-fitting partial plate, a tooth finally broke off which left me with two of my front teeth missing. Doctor Ghazebi came to the rescue for which I am forever grateful. I ended up with 6 BEAUTIFUL crowns.The procedure from start to finish was smooth and mostly painless. Walking into the office itself is like entering a forest in the middle of downtown Walnut Creek so the waiting experience is lovely. And it just gets better once you cross the threshold into care. Virtually every person you encounter is friendly and efficient and caring, from office staff to dental assistants and hygienists. Dr. Davidson herself has proven to be a gentle and skilled dentist that I would trust in an emergency as well as for routine care. The communication is prompt, there is a text line which makes things so much easier, and they accept my insurance. There is nothing else I could ask for.

And first time I had the Best. Crown. Prep. Ever. I have many crowns and always dread the procedure. But yesterday’s experience was a relief. Dr. Davidson credited new technology but I credit her ability and concern for patients and the knowledge to use the new technology! I recommended her to my friends who will visit as soon as they can get an appointment. Third visit—also great. Didn’t even need Novocain for crown placement and front filling. And I love the results of the In-office teeth whitening though I had to keep my mouth open for an hour. But again, new devices worked to make even that procedure bearable. I continue to be pleased with and grateful for Dr. Davidson and her team at Walnut Creek Dental Studio. I was fitted with my night guard to prevent jaw clenching/teeth grinding. Thank you, Dr. Loder for finding a great new dentist for us! One year later: I continue to be impressed with the quality of Dr. Davidson’s dental studio. She has renovated, and updated the equipment, and I had another great experience. Even with a small delay, I still received a good teeth cleaning from Renee and a thorough check by Dr. Davidson.

Experiencia negativa: At first my experience with this dental office was awesome but I’m sharing because their practice with insurance is fraudulent. I had an Invisalign consultation and was quoted $6k. I knew my plan with delta dental was in network, so I asked them to submit a pre-determination to confirm the fees. As expected, the fee came back at a fraction of the cost, around $3k. (The contracted amount). Therefore my patient portion came out to around $1,100. When I went in to schedule the start of my treatment, the girl in the front quoted me the original $6k. She explained that “since ortho treatment is extensive, they do not follow the contracted fees” I told her that’s not how contracted fees work, the office made an agreement with the insurance company to charge x fee therefore that is what I should be charged. After I pressed the situation, she agreed to “look into it”. I received a call a few days later saying the doctor is no longer offering orthodontic treatment because she was unaware the fees were so low. (this conflicts with their first excuse) In other words I am being refused treatment because I have great insurance and they are money hungry. I used to manage dental offices, I have brought many doctors in and out of network with insurance companies, I know a shady practice when I see one. Do better!

Experiencia fantástica: Near the start of the Covid shut down, I was going to have work done by my dentist to replace an old filling, but I canceled to wait for a return to 'normal'. Well my dentist, for the last ~35years, retired and Walnut Creek Dental Studio took over the dental office. I decided to go ahead and give them a try. They completely upgraded with all new state of the art equipment and trained professionals that know how to use it. I started with my bi-annual cleaning and they confirmed the need to replace 2 old fillings. The work was scheduled for the following week and performed with no issues. It's now 24hr after the replacement work and everything feels perfect. I will continue using Walnut Creek Dental Studio for my dental care.

Renee is so friendly and remembers information about me, even though I only see her every 6 months!
