Experiencia negativa: The quality of the dental care is good, but billing is deceptive. I called and was told that they took Atena dental insurance and they were in-network, when I checked into my appointment I handed the clerk my insurance card and asked them to double check that I was in network, they assured me that I was. After I got my dental cleaning and x-rays, the clerk told me that they screwed up and were actually out of network for my plan, and that Atena would only cover 60% of the bill. So I had to pay $140 out of pocket which I was not pleased about but it could be worse. A few weeks after that, I get a bill in the mail for an ADDITIONAL $135, and they start calling me repeatedly saying that Atena wouldn't cover everything. It took a long time, but I finally got a response to my complaint to Atena that the Dr's office refused the insurance's reasonable negotiated rates that they were willing to pay, and Atena was not going to pay the full inflated rates. Note that their website still says they're in network for Atena and that they "avoid surprise billing." Yeah right. I ended up having to pay $275 for a simple cleaning and basic x-rays. Will never be back and suggest that everyone else does not get fleeced by them either.

Experiencia negativa: After my longtime dentist retired, I transferred to a new practice. During my initial exam, I found the consultation brief and felt the cleaning was rushed. The dentist noted that my fillings were cracked and advised further appointments, but did not provide a thorough explanation before leaving. Unable to find another suitable provider at the time, I remained with the practice for a subsequent cleaning appointment. Although I arrived punctually, another patient was scheduled for a "rush cleaning" simultaneously. After waiting an additional 40 minutes beyond my appointment time and raising concerns twice with the receptionist, I was finally attended to. During this visit, I observed staff sharing a light moment while patients waited, which I felt was unprofessional. The cleaning itself did not meet my expectations, and my feedback to the receptionist was not acknowledged through any follow-up communication. Due to these experiences, I chose to transfer to a different dental practice and requested that my records and X-rays be sent accordingly. This transfer required multiple follow-ups, as my records were not provided promptly. I also asked for cancellation of future appointments and to be removed from their contact lists; however, I continue to receive promotional emails and calls a year later. Despite repeated attempts to unsubscribe and direct requests to the practice, communications persist, including one two days ago, “RE: your outstanding treatment with Julia Lee DDS.” I believe this violates privacy regulations such as CAN-SPAM and CCPA. Given these ongoing issues, I am unable to recommend this practice.

During my first appointment, I waited almost an hour past my scheduled time, and I never even saw Dr. Julia Lee herself — only the assistants. The visit felt disorganized, impersonal, and left me questioning their professionalism. The situation became much worse when I later requested a copy of my own 3D CT scan. I was shocked to be told that the office charges an outrageous $700 fee just to provide a copy of my existing scan. This is not only unreasonable — it is completely out of line with federal and California regulations. Under HIPAA and the California Health & Safety Code, patients have a legal right to access their medical and dental records at only a reasonable, cost-based fee that covers the actual cost of duplication (such as a CD, USB, or secure link). Charging hundreds of dollars far exceeds what is legally permitted and creates an intimidating barrier for patients who simply want access to their own information. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable, frustrated, and frankly taken advantage of. Transparency and patient rights should be a fundamental part of any healthcare practice, and this experience has made me lose all trust in this office. If you are considering this provider, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions upfront about costs, wait times, and record-access policies. My experience has been deeply disappointing and I would not recommend this practice to others seeking professional, ethical, and patient-centered care.

Dr Lee consulted with the oral surgeon and the best path for me was to do a bridge on me and I was very impressed. She’s an implant specialist but she did what she thought was more conservative to keep my own teeth. I know there’s a big push right now for implants but she did what she could to save my teeth. She’s the best dentist I’ve had so far and she’s really good. My first experience with her has been very good!

Experiencia negativa: I had been going here for over 10 years and the service has continuously declined of recent and sought a new dental practice. 3 of my last 4 appointments were canceled due to a lack of available dentist or hygenist on the date of my appointment. I would receive text messages about my upcoming appointments often with the wrong time, then have to ask what the correct time to come. Then, an oopsies response thay they have no one available. One time, they apologized and rescheduled me a couple days later in the afternoon. I told them I had limited time, but after putting me in a chair, I sat for over an hour and had to cancel a work client as I was stuck in the dental chair. Another time I took the morning off from work for a crown. I was canceled a couple days prior as all dentists decided to attend a conference, yet had clients scheduled the entire day and canceled on everyone. I missed out on work opportunities due to their lack of vonsideration in timely notification. I can no longer waste valuable time during work hours on a dental practice that is poorly managed. Dr. Denny and Sam are amazing though and the only reason they get a second star. They should open their own practice and hire a competent office manager/scheduler.

The dental hygienists appear to lack adequate training, as I have encountered multiple staff members who seem unsure of what they are doing. I had two simple fillings done, and in both cases, they left material on the outside of the tooth, resulting in a rough and unfinished surface. Additionally, the work environment is unprofessional; the staff engages in open conversations that disregard the customers in the office. It is essential for the clinic to prioritize diversity within their staff.
