Fantastic experience: Christina was amazing and thorough explaining the steps in the cleaning process and tips for at home care while doing an amazing job cleaning my teeth after I hadn’t been in in over a year. I really enjoyed my visit with her she was very informative for a hygienist I took a chance on seeing as I desperately needed a cleaning and was luckily able to get in same day

Negative experience: I had been a patient at Great Hill Dental largely because of Dr. Sumra Khan, who I thought was an excellent dentist. After she left the practice, I requested copies of prior clinical notes from my treatment with her. When I asked for those records in person, front desk staff told me that the practice does not release clinical notes to patients because the notes contain other information. I then submitted a formal written request by mail for the records. More than 30 days later, I still have not received the requested records or a written response. I called again and was told the records person was out and would return the next day; the office took my email address and said they would leave a note. I followed up again the next day, reached voicemail, and left another message. I still have not received a response or my records. This is especially concerning because patients generally have a legal right to access their own health records, including clinical notes. HIPAA gives patients access to information in their designated record set, including clinical/SOAP notes, subject to limited exceptions, and generally requires a provider to act on an access request within 30 calendar days. Massachusetts dental regulations likewise require a dentist to provide a complete copy of a patient’s dental record within a reasonable time not exceeding 30 calendar days. This has been extremely frustrating.

Negative experience: Getting a routine dental cleaning here is always an issue. There seems to be a revolving door of dental hygienists.They never have Saturday appointments available within a reasonable time frame. I called today (because of course they had to cancel my Feb 2025 dental cleaning) and the next available was June 2025! Hire more hygienists please. EDIT: Although Dr. Khan was great, I could no longer tolerate the constant rearranging of hygienist appointments. My family and I have since left this practice. Seems Great Hill Dental went downhill once they were taken over by Gentle Dental. Too bad as I really liked Dr. Khan.

Fantastic experience: I am a type 2 diabetic and missed my last cleaning appointment. Sonya was scheduled to do my cleaning, and I am thankful that she was, she was extremely thorough and gentle. I strongly recommend Sonya to everyone as she has an amazing work ethic, passion for the field, and a complete understanding of patient needs and concerns. She is amazing!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Great Hill Dental in Peabody for well over 10 years. I appreciate them having Saturday hours all these years! The staff, hygienists, and doctors have always been pleasant and great with their respective services. Even when my insurance had billing issues, Great Hill Dental was great in helping to resolve them.

Fantastic experience: Great Hill Dental is just that. GREAT! I have been a patient there from the very beginning of the practice and have the healthy teeth and mouth to prove it. There are so many reasons to love Great Hill! The availability of expert general practitioners *and* specialists on staff ensures comprehensive and personalized care. The reception team, always kind and accommodating, creates a welcoming atmosphere. Together, they form an energized team, offering a seamless and convenient experience—all under one roof. Last February, I had the misfortune of sustaining a horizontal break in one of my bottom front teeth. Despite the challenges posed by crowding in the area, my practitioners, Dr. Sumra S. Khan, DMD, and periodontist Dr. Matthew Hickin, DDS, demonstrated true skill and creativity, working collaboratively to address the complexities of replacing the unsalvageable tooth in a very tight space. The solution: both lower front teeth were painlessly removed, and Dr. Hickin expertly implanted a post in the middle of the cavity. This strategic placement allowed for the creation of a specially designed crown (my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kahn) that seamlessly mimics two bottom front teeth. Genius! While the post settled into its new home and surrounding bone healed, I was provided with a comfortable and natural-looking temporary bridge (affectionately known as a "flipper"), which accompanied me on vacation. After the implant healed, precise mouth impressions were taken, and the final crown was meticulously crafted and anchored to the post. The outcome is not only aesthetically pleasing but also feels wonderful. I am grateful for the good and gentle, pain-free care from my dental heroes, Dr. Kahn and Dr. Hickin, who are so wonderfully supported by dental assistants Judy and Niki.
