Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Blackhurst for several years at this point. Him and his staff have taken such good care of me. I can honestly say that I look forward to getting my teeth cleaned every six months. His hygienist Jen is an absolute delight, and I always love sitting in her chair. Everyone from receptionists, Dental assistants, Hygienist, And Dr. Blackhurst himself are just some of the most lovely people to work with! Even though I haven’t had any dental issues, my ex did and Dr. Blackhurst took such great care of him as well and handled everything so professionally, and wasn’t just trying to make a buck on some extra procedures. I’m really not the type to ever leave a review, but they just handle things so well that I couldn’t help myself but share the great things about their office. -Shelby (Osborne)

Fantastic experience: Mindy is awesome! She took the time to explain my procedure with patience and used a model to explain exactly what would be done to my tooth. She and Dr. Blackhurst detailed the plan for pain management and made sure I was comfortable with how to handle any problems. The office staff is always pleasant and helpful.

Negative experience: Your Receptionist called me.I broke a tooth I asked if I would be seen for it. Rudely she replied ”I’m not a dentist so I can’t diagnosis you or guarantee that you will be seen” History: I'm in Pain. I had left a message a few days earlier about the tooth and so I'm in pain. Her comment was Rude. Even if you are not in pain. Dr. I got your letter. You don't have to worry Our Family will not come back. Even tho Your receptionist was rude to me, I feel like you want me to apologize to all of you. I apologize that I was in tooth pain. Without talking to me, you gave up, cancelled us. As a U.S. Navy Corpsman, I never had the luxury of Cancelling people because the going got rough. Working in a Hospital in P.T. I've had Patients call me every cuss word you can think of, Punch me, kick me, and do you think I could send them a letter? No, I could not punch back because I would be fired. I had to stay with them. I had to keep going back and get them out of bed. Doctors orders. Today: I think what I learned is that Comfort is what Medicine is today. If your staff gets offended at the slightest comment, cancel them, ban them. Just a reminder: I was in tooth pain. I was in Pain. I asked when I could be seen. I did not use expletives. I was not rude to her but That didn't matter and does not matter at your office. She was rude. You let her get away with it. Utah Medicine: It is not always about you.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Blackhurst for years. He and the staff are fantastic. The office is professional and clean. They are the only office I have ever been to that is consistently on time and you don’t have to wait. Great for people that need to get back to work. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: David is THE BEST Dentist I have ever seen. All my family goes to him now and they all agree. David is so knowledgeable and has pointed things out to me about my teeth that no other dentist has noticed or verbalized . He is so kind and friendly. My sons love going to the dentist to see him and his amazing staff. The hygienist and dental assistants are always so sweet and gentle. They somehow always remember us and make us feel so special and important. We look forward to our 6 months appointments. Negative experience: Does not work with bill. It's all or nothing. Doesn't care about the pain level.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dr. Blackhurst for close to 15 years and he and his staff have been fantastic! I trust his judgement on what dental work needs to be done and which work can wait (such as getting crowns). I believe that we have saved hundreds of dollars in dental bills by avoiding unnecessary work.

Positive experience: Overall my experience with this office was so so, staff was kind, but unable to provide me with accurate information with regards to billing. They had over booked the hygienist so a good portion of my cleaning was done by a new dental assistant. When I had other work done a different assistant positioned my tongue in such a way it made it difficult to breathe, when I asked her to stop she told me that she has no other option. This is the first time in all the dental work I’ve had, and the first time I had issues being able to breathe. With everything considered, I’ve definitely had much better experiences at dental offices.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Blackhurst is great! The staff was very kind and his hygienist was very thorough and efficient. My teeth actually felt clean after my appointment as opposed to when I've left other dental offices. It was my 3-year-olds first dental cleaning and they made her feel safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend him and his staff for anyone looking for a dentist.

They helped my toddler feel comfortable and didn’t force him to do anything he wasn’t ready for. Everyone we met was friendly and efficient. I felt so comfortable and am happy to have found a great dentist for our family!

Fantastic experience: Jen did a great job deep cleaning my gums! I had this done at another dentist about 3 years ago, swore I'd never do it again. Sore gums and bad experience. This time when I got feeling back they didn't hurt and weren't swollen! I'd recommend them to my mother!

Negative experience: Needed to see the Doctor for an emergency infection in my mouth. It was Monday morning and I was told they couldn't see me until Wed. Totally unacceptable for something this serious. I will be changing Dentist. I have a feeling the Doctor was unaware of this.

Fantastic experience: I could not give Dr Blackhurst and his team a better review. Me and my family have seen him for probably the past 10 years and I've followed him from practice to practice--so glad he has his own now. He has given our family multiple types of treatments (crowns, root canals, fillings, and whiting) and I've always appreciated his conservative approach to treatment. Over the long-run, he has saved us time, money, and frustration by prescribing the right treatment plan as opposed to the one that might just save us money in the short-term. I've recommended friends and colleagues see him as well and they've all been really impressed with him as well. Solid guy. Great team. You really won't find a better dentist.

Fantastic experience: Ever since I started going to Dr Blackhurst 4 years ago, it’s no longer dreadful to go to the dentist. The staff is friendly when I walk in and competent while cleaning my teeth. Dr Blackhurst is for sure the best dentist i have ever been to. It is a great place for me but also for my 4 year old. She genuinely loves to go to the dentist because they are all so good with her!

Fantastic experience: Dr Blackhurst's office is always incredibly friendly and helpful. My appointments are always very close to being on time, sometimes even early, and they are quick and efficient. My regular cleaning takes 30 minutes from the time I walk in the door till the time I'm leaving. I have been going to this office for about 2 years now, and I'm always very satisfied

But after my visit to Dr Blackhurst and his awesome staff, I’m not feeling quite so anxious about the dentist. Fantastic experience: I was greeted right when I came through the door, I was asked to fill out some papers to update my records. After a short time, I was taken to a room and the girl took x-rays of my teeth. Dr Blachhurst came in right away. He examined my teeth and found I would have to be referred to another specialist, Je wrote a note on the referral as to what needed to be done. I was released to go home.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely 5 stars. Best dentist experience we've ever had. Called a couple of dentists after hours yesterday (North orem dental, and Gentle Arts), NONE RESPONDED. Too many dentists in Orem think they have enough business to not care about tooth pain (Hill Family dental) (Nick Young- Canyon dental near Sonic) Not Blackhurst in American Fork is the best! They got us in, and helped out. These are the people to see!

Fantastic experience: This was my first time coming to this Dentist office, and I had a great experience! I usually HATE going to the dentist-- my teeth are super sensitive and everything is miserable and uncomfortable for me. I let the hygienist know ahead of time, and she was super accommodating and aware of my sensitivity while working on my teeth. The conversation was fun and entertaining, and I really enjoyed talking with everyone. Dr. Blackhurst was great and very personable and welcoming. Overall, it was finally a trip to the dentist that I didn't hate! :) I actually thought I made an appointment at a different office (where my friend works) and happened to schedule an appointment here, which was the wrong location-- haha. But I liked my experience so much, I'm going to stick with Dr. Blackhurst and his staff. Sarah was my hygienist and I'm glad I got lucky today.
