The office itself is beautiful, modern, and inviting, which immediately helped put me at ease. Having experienced dental anxiety in the past, I especially appreciated how empathetic, gentle, and kind the dentist was. The dental assistant was equally wonderful—so personable, engaging, and reassuring throughout my visit. I had a filling done and was amazed that I experienced absolutely zero discomfort, both during the procedure and afterward! It was truly one of the most comfortable dental experiences I’ve ever had. It’s clear that the entire team genuinely cares about their patients and goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. I’m so grateful to have found Redmond Smiles and would highly recommend them!

The dynamic duo, Hayley and Emma (dental assistant and hygienist) always make for a welcoming experience at the office prior to seeing the actual dentist. Warm personalities, cheerful attitudes, and skillful in their dental knowledge, these two employees really are a bonus to Colby Eckland’s office.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to the Eckland Family Dentistry in Redmond for 10+ years and have always appreciated the professional standards & ethics the uphold and the friendly atmosphere. On that note, for my last cleaning appt I was running late due to a longer than expected meeting. I called and apologized to the receptionist when explaining my situation and expecting to reschedule. She couldn't have been more understanding and gave me the option of coming in late or rescheduling. I chose to come in late and my hygienist Emma, the consummate pro, never mentioned my tardiness and finished the cleaning on time knowing I had to go back to work. Doesn’t get much better than that. 5/5 Stars!!!

Fantastic experience: Colby Eckland is an excellent dentist, but the best part about this one practice is Emma, the hygienist. She is wonderful and does a great job cleaning your teeth!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, this office is a bit old-fashioned despite the modern furniture and rebranding. They are not a holistic practice. I specified that I would like a teeth cleaning and did not need x-rays at this time, but when I arrived, the doctor was unhappy having his Western medical expertise subverted. He lied about x-rays being required by law, and then further demonstrated a lack of awareness, integrity, respect. Within a few minutes, I was able to find a Wellness dentistry office nearby whose policies uphold patient sovereignty—with a more inclusive price point, too. I’m sure some nice procedures are done here, but one is likely to have a better experience somewhere else. The welcome team is upbeat and friendly!

Fantastic experience: Dr Colby Ecklund and his team have been outstanding in supporting my dental health. My dental hygenist, Emma, is outstanding and takes very good care of my sensitive teeth and gums and explains everything as she works. Also gives me great advice on how to improve my overall dental health. Recently had a new "tooth" placed on an implant pole. Fits like a charm and the overall visit and experience was excellent. Highly recommend.

His staff is also very professional and friendly. Hayley is an excellent assistant, and Emma has been a very knowledgeable and impressive hygienist. The overall climate of the office is friendly and calm, thanks to Christina at the front desk, and the entire staff.

Fantastic experience: I was seen by Dr. Eckland with my six year old daughter for the first time 6 month ago. We were welcomed by a wonderful team of dental hygienists and dental assistants. Dr. Eckland saved my tooth from a very unwanted crown. No pain, little to no discomfort, and exceptional results. State of the art facility, excellent staff, wonderful and very knowledgeable doctor. My 6 year old daughter cannot wait to go back for her regular checkup-that alone deserves FIVE stars.

He also works wonders and so detail oriented that he explain step by step and even have you holding up a mirror to point out what is is about to do. It says a lot about this dentistry family that care about your dental health care. I have been with Dr Colby Eckland for a long time now and have been coming here for a number of years. The team took the time to examine, clean, and explain both recommendations and what they were finding so I never felt in the dark with the recommendations. Fantastic experience: UPDATE: When I was 8 years old, I had the worst dentist imaginable — so bad that I was traumatized and neglected my teeth for decades. My bite shifted throughout the years and I ground down my front teeth so badly that one of them finally cracked. Dr. Colby Eckland fixed the crack and helped me build a treatment & restoration plan that started with orthodontic realignment (in close partnership with Dr. Jeremy Chaison for the Invisalign) and culminated with a set of picture perfect composite veneers. I am so grateful for Dr. Eckland’s friendly and calming “chair-side manner”, his ongoing support, and his sheer artistry. He gave me back my smile at the ripe age of 50, and I couldn’t be happier with the results!!! ============ Original review: Like many people out there, I grew up afraid of going to the dentist. I left the office feeling clean and with minimal soreness for having work done on all four quadrants of my mouth in under an hour and a half. Negative experience: I would not recommend this place. The front desk staff was extremely unprofessional and lacked basic knowledge about insurance. She overcharged me by several hundred dollars and yelled at me for half an hour before realizing her mistake. It was a highly unpleasant experience. In addition, this dentistry is supposed to be in-network with my insurance company, but they didn't follow the contract. Instead, they insisted on charging me more than the amount agreed upon with the insurance company.

Negative experience: Had availed their service since moving to Redmond, and the treatment has been ok. Main concern is with billing: had an extra charge for item not covered by insurance that was never asked or cleared before using for treatment. The billing is always more than expected and even though insurance says diagnostic/preventative covered fully, ended up paying extra. When i asked why - initially just asked me to call and ask the insurance when they could have at least explained the discrepancy. The interactions with the front desk leave much to be desired. I will be moving on to a different provider, and from some of the reviews posted before --> this is not the 1st time something like this has happened. I wish them well, but the whole experience has left me with a bad taste.

Negative experience: Used their service twice this year and I will try somewhere else next year. They surprised me with the bill again today because they did services which are not covered by my insurance without my consent. At the recent time when I visited them, I didn't even get a chance to see the dentist, who was on vacation, but they billed my insurance the same amount of money. The communication with them was frustrated. The "family" seems don't communicate with each other very well.

Positive experience: Doctor Colby is great. I’ve been her for four years. But the front desk Mila is not doing her job at all. She knows nothing. She asked me to come to do gum therapy but she never sent me the necessary and correct information of billing. When I came to the office, she told me she never got pre authorization and she didn’t know how much I would pay out of pocket. But I called so many times to ensure I should get all the information. She simply doesn’t know how to do her job and maybe shouldn’t get a job in the first place.
