They are obviously very experienced and know what they're doing. The staff is very friendly and the office is very clean and professional. I set up my second visit. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with my new dentist!

Fantastic experience: I feel like Totem Lake Dentristy is part of my family, from the receptionist to the hygienist to Dr. Mona Botani. On time, completely painless, gentle and painless. And friendly.

Negative experience: Be extremely cautious of doing business with this dentists office. I had a cleaning done—my insurance covers it %100. This office DID NOT file my claim correctly, more than once. I had work done at a specialist and maxed out my coverage for the year—all of this planned in advance. Meanwhile, the charge for the cleaning is sitting out there, still misfiled. Over 8 months later I get a call from them saying I owe for the full cleaning. I called my insurance company and they told me this office had never even filled a claim with them. They said I was not the only one to call with this problem. They had misfiled many claims. When I called and told them it was their problem for not doing the paperwork they were hostile and said I would have to pay the whole thing. When I gave them an email from my dental insurance company showing they had never filed a claim with them. Apparently they were trying to file it with another state—they still are forcing me to pay this bill. I’m not made of money. I had to wait for a long time to get my dental work done because of finances. I planned it all carefully to make sure the maximum would be paid by my insurance. This is a severe tax upon my financial resources and should have never happened. I won’t go into how I feel about the office in general. Suffice to say I will never recommend them. Business is business.

Fantastic experience: The whole team at Totem Lake Family Dentistry is great. The hygienists are gentle but thorough, the front desk team is friendly, professional and efficient and Dr. Butani takes the time to explain dental issues and explore treatment options - and provides excellent dental care. I really appreciate having a dental team I can count on.

Negative experience: Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience. Scheduling was smooth and professional. I booked a new-patient examination, arrived on time, and was told they would take X-rays and images. No problem. Then, after I was already seated and ready to proceed, I was told that a blood pressure reading was required. This had never been mentioned during scheduling or before the appointment. I felt completely ambushed by a requirement that was only disclosed after I arrived. I politely explained that I was not comfortable with it, especially since this was only an examination and not a procedure. To my knowledge, routine blood pressure screening is not an ADA requirement for a basic dental exam, yet it was presented as a condition for moving forward. The more the issue was pushed, the more anxious and uncomfortable I became. What should have been a routine visit turned into a stressful confrontation. I ultimately informed the doctor that I was not comfortable proceeding that day and left. The most disappointing part was the receptionist’s behavior afterward. Instead of showing any understanding or compassion, she repeatedly told me, “You’re not a good fit.” Over and over. I found that remarkably nasty, judgmental, and unprofessional. A patient who is having a difficult day should be treated with empathy and respect, not repeatedly labeled as “not a good fit.” I left without an examination, without any sense that my concerns were heard, and without experiencing the level of compassion I would expect from a healthcare office. Very disappointing experience.

Fantastic experience: Most fabulous people of utmost experience, knowledge, and care of people. **Saved my gums …saved my teeth.* * this is from Heather her daughter; I help her w/ phone and live w/ her. Dr. Butani did something exquisite to help mom’s gum issues. … I am massively grateful because she is top notch and I need help as well. She is 100% awesome!!!!

Fantastic experience: I want to take my son to get some blood work back door to this wonderful place I had a toothache and turns out I have a cavity after fighting out they take my insurance Delta Dental I was totally blown away about the price how inexpensive it is knowing I have I can trust I am going to recommend this to all my coworkers who also have Delta Dental on the way back next week for a deep cleaning and yes flossing is important thank you totally family dentistry the staff was so kind and treated me like I was family just got done with the cleaning I haven't had my teeth cleaned in 26 years I feel so fresh in New Tara did a wonderful job five stars all around

Fantastic experience: March 2026 update: Brook did my deep cleaning today. A great hygienist! I particularly appreciated her detailed communication throughout the two-hour appointment, including identifying a new condition that could've been easily missed. Dr. Butani came in to double check and confirmed that I need to see my periodontist. There's more than one reason I keep coming back to this clinic. If you're not happy with your general dentist or don't have one, I strongly recommend this one. June 2023 update: Sara was my hygienist this week. I can’t recommend her enough. Feb 2022 update: Still a happy patient and still my favorite dentist yet (and I’ve seen MANY dentists). Everyone in the office (Mona, the hygienists, the nurses, and the front desk) is friendly, helpful and have excellent communication! 10/10. I had a great experience with Dr. Mona as well as Sara (hygienist).

Fantastic experience: In an age when insurance doesn't want to pay, Michelle fought very hard for me to have them pay what they committed to for my sleep appliance. In addition to the caring staff, they are very thorough, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. I've moved around, but I have continued to go here because Dr. Mona Butani, whom I see, is very caring and doesn't make you feel like you are being rushed like in some other places. The hygienists are top-notch, and the doctors explain their thought processes before any procedures. It's a clean, bright, and cheerful place—as much as any dental space could be.

Fantastic experience: This was the most comprehensive INITIAL dental exam I have had in my life. The thoroughness of the hygienist and the dentist is unmatched. Irene (hygienist) was attentive and continued to ensure the cleaning was going okay especially with my sensitivity and anxiety of the dentist- so much so, she stopped often to check on me and agreed on hand signals if it was too much. Dr. Butani examined my mouth and took notes of my palate, my uvula, my jaw, and my bite. I learned things I didn’t know about my mouth! Thank you to everyone there for your kindness, compassion, and dedication to my dental healthy and anxiety! I highly recommend this office for your dental needs!

Fantastic experience: This dental clinic has a great group of staff! Very professional service, with a caring and warm touch, while driven towards your needs. I’ve had many dentists in my life, and I actually moved over from a favorite clinic in another city, which I had for about 10yrs. The move was scary and I was nervous at the thought of informing my last dentist that I was leaving them, but I’m glad I did and never looked back! This isn’t just a crew that gets your dental health up to par. No.. no.. no.. if interested, they look at your dental history for clues.. your neck and face anatomy.. your sleep health.. cosmetics- your overall health and well being. Fantastic experience: Do you wish your dentist was using tools from the future? And delivered excellent service in an atmosphere where Helping You is the point? This is what happens at TL Dentistry. Dr. Butani’s work is so impressive. I have something of a bionic mouth - but she has referred me to excellent specialists and supported my regular care to give me excellent dental health. My last night guard fitting was done with a light scanner! No more goo trays!

Fantastic experience: I used to dread going to the dentist, but after becoming a patient here, now I actually look forward to it! Dr. Butani, Dr. Feider, as well as the front desk staff and all the hygienists are so nice and welcoming! On top of that, the quality of care here is top notch and both Dr. Butani and Dr. Feider are very skilled. I have a small mouth and TMJ which sometimes makes it hard to keep my mouth open during dental work, and I also have a little bit of dental anxiety, and they do a great job accommodating my needs and making sure I'm comfortable. During a regular exam, Dr. Butani noticed a deep cavity in one of my molars that was forming under an existing filling. She was able to replace the filling thanks to catching it early. Otherwise, it would have needed a root canal to fix. I am so grateful she caught this!

Fantastic experience: I have never ever had a bad experience at Totem Lake Family Dentistry. I’ve had multiple different hygienists for cleanings and all were so talented and kind. I even had my first fillings here. I was so nervous but the staff took amazing care of me. They explained each step and continuously checked to see if I was comfortable. After the first one, I was confident going in for the second one. They were so gentle and careful, I felt nothing. Going to the dentist can be scary, they definitely recognize that and do a fantastic job of taking amazing care of their patients. Not to mention they just do amazing dental work!

Fantastic experience: Have been going to Dr Feider at Totem Lake Family Dentistry for several years and she is by far the best dentist I’ve ever been to. She’s gentle and friendly, and always puts me at ease when I’m there. She and her Dental Assistant, Melissa, focus on comfort care for patients like me who have anxiety around dental work. While going to the dentist will never be something I’m excited about, I no longer have panic when I go because they have gone above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Butani was extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough, and it is clear she truly cares about her patients. Her hygienist was very competent as well and did a great job with the cleaning. The rest of the staff is very nice and make you feel comfortable the minute you walk in the door. Very happy with my experience!
