Fantastic experience: Always treated with careful attention to detail and kindness. Going to Dr. Marxen has saved my teeth, for which, I am very grateful. Everyone is friendly and competent.

Negative experience: We came here this morning, 8/20/26, for an emergency dental appointment for my partner who has an infected tooth. The receptionists were very nice and the fishtank is lovely and well maintained. We didn't have a great experience with the hygienist, but the real egregious part of this visit is we were given this prescription antibiotic mouthwash and upon looking at it after leaving the appointment, it expired over a year ago! I immediately called, and we live over an hour away so I gave them our pharmacy information and they said they would call in a new one there. They did not ever call it in, and they are now closed for the next 3 days and don't have the option to leave a voicemail. They gave us *very* expired medication, which the pharmacist said is not safe for use, and then never called in an updated prescription or further addressed this mistake at all.

Not only are they always fast but they take the time to educate the patient as well. Fantastic experience: Great experience all around. After being so unhappy at my previous dentist, this was like a breath of fresh air. The office staff and the dental assistant were so friendly. The dentist explained everything going on with my teeth clearly and I knew I could trust her judgement on what repairs I need in the future. There was no pressure to book but I was happy to do so since I was confident in the approach and treatment plan.

Negative experience: I would give this place negative stars if that were possible. This is nothing short of a scam. I was explicitly told that they are contracted with my insurance and that my routine cleaning would be covered 100%. Despite this, my so-called “annual cleaning” ended up costing over $500 even with insurance, which is completely unacceptable. They quietly add charges without disclosure—most notably fluoride, which is commonly offered at no cost elsewhere, but here they charge $61 and never mention it in advance. Even worse, after the fact, they claim that routine cleanings are only covered 80% under their contract, directly contradicting what I was told beforehand. This is a complete lack of transparency, misleading communication, and a terrible patient experience. Proceed with extreme caution

Fantastic experience: Dr. Marxen put in the abutment for my implant with great skill. He made the incisions to remove the screw very precisely, delicately chiseling through the bone and then putting in the abutment, and stitching up the tissue around it so it hardly seemed it had been cut. I took some Ibuprofen in case I had any pain and I felt fine. The next morning, I really felt back to normal. ————————————————————————— Dr. Marxen fit me in to take care of my broken tooth despite the shelter in place. He called staff and they gave me great care and helped with my problem as quickly as was possible. They also explained the insurance well. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had another appointment with Dr. Marxen to have 2 crowns done at the same time. The dental work was done with great care to protect everyone from COVID-19. There is a special air filter that cleans the air of particles and staff all wears the best protective equipment. My crowns were made right in the office at that appointment. It only took 3 hours for everything to be finished. I thought I might have some pain once the novacaine wore off as they had to put some pressure on my gum but I felt great and did not even need to take an ibuprofen. —— Dec 3 ,2020. I had oral surgery yesterday to insert a post in preparation for an implant and also receive sinus buildup. As usual, Dr. Marxen and the staff were friendly and reassuring. The office is very clean and follows strict protocol to protect everyone from the coronavirus. The procedure went smoothly with little discomfort at all. The meds I was given were effective in controlling pain and swelling. Dr. Marxen called me that night to check on how I was doing. That was very nice. I felt really quite well after the procedure. The staff even gave me flowers when the surgery was over. I can see why Dr. Marxen is on the list of best dentists.

Negative experience: Updating this to provide context. I got some cavities filled years ago here and wasn't too thrilled about how they turned out, but figured that was just how fillings were. Since then I have gone to multiple dentists for consultations and each one has said the work done before was horrible. My teeth were jagged and uncomfortable, and the color matching was nowhere near matched (they made the new filling more yellow than my teeth). And now I have to spend all this money AGAIN to fix the things done badly here. Edit: I didn't think uploading proof that I went here was necessary, but they don't even keep records of past patients apparently.

The dentists are both fantastic with a warm, personable demeanor and very knowledgeable. They use modern tech like TVs that allow you to see your x-rays and charts in real-time. But most importantly, they are committed to you having a comfortable experience. They offer a multitude of ways to remove worries and make sure you don't experience pain or anxiety.

Fantastic experience: I went in last week for a gum graft, which I was pretty nervous about, however my experience was great! The staff is so professional, they made me feel comfortable and safe, well taken care of. The most surprising thing to me was not experiencing any pain during or after the procedure. Love that part! Dr Marxen has decades of experience and is super passionate about providing top notch care. In my case Dr Marxen discovered a serious infected pocket that lead to an implant. This was a problem that probably was going on for years and was missed by my former dentist. His skill and experience reading xrays raised suspicion. And the 3D image he was able to take right in his office confirmed it. The infected pocket was massive. It is like taking your car to an experienced mechanic that can tell the problem from the odd sound. They know what they are doing from their years and years of experience. Fantastic experience: Advanced care dentistry Is is easily among the best dentist in Washington State. I have had a large amount of dental work done over the years, both routine and cosmetic(post injury) procedures before coming to see Dr. Marxen and his team. I had a great dentist before but a change in insurance forced us to go elsewhere and I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Marxen can do a crown start to finish the same day which wasn't possible not that many years ago, and is very convenient if you break a tooth. He also offers many other top quality advanced dentisrty options for those in need. His team also is exceedingly good at what they do. You can tell he runs his bussiness well because his team stays, and everyone is kind, caring, and proffesional. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. Fantastic experience: After an unusual reaction of a treatment, I've been asked to return to the clinic, despite being almost the end of their working day. There, I received attention from Dr. Marxen and up to three assistants. Later that evening, at 8:30 pm, Dr. Marxen called me to ask how I was feeling. Since I wasn't a 100%, he asked me to go back to the clinic at 9:00 pm! Dr. Marxen himself came to the clinic from home to see me. He "fixed" the problem I had. I cannot believe there are still professionals that care so much about their customers. Dr. Marxen went above and beyond. Thank you, and the whole Advanced Care Dentistry team. (I apologize couldn't get the names of all the assistants that helped with so much care and dedication).

He ALWAYS calls in the evenings (on his own time) to check on his patients after they have procedures. Anytime I’ve had an emergency he has responded so quickly. I feel very lucky to be a patient of their practice. As long as Dr. Marxen is practicing, I’ll be a life long patient. I highly recommend his practice to anyone, especially those with dental anxiety.
