Fantastic experience: This is my second review for this office. I can't stress enough how great Potomac Family Dental is. They restored my smile, scheduling is easy and quick, the whole office is so attentive and welcoming! I used to be afraid of going to the dentist, but Doctor Uthman and his team removed all of my fear. I now go to every appointment feeling confident. You can tell that Doctor Uthman treats his staff like family and with the utmost respect and he does the same for his patients. My only regret is that I didn't find this office years ago, but hey, better late than never :). I have a daughter with special needs and the dentist she has now is great. However, if this office is taking new patients, I am definitely making Dr. Uthman her new forever dentist. I highly recommend Potomac Family Dental. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency so I called this practice. They saw me within the hour! Everyone was so kind and professional. Fantastic experience: Cannot say enough good things about this place. It is the best dental office I have ever been to (and I’ve been to MANY throughout my life). As a person who has suffered from extensive severe dental trauma in the past, I initially walked into this office filled with anxiety. However, the bedside manner is outstanding and Dr. Uthman put all of my worries at ease. He’s been practicing dentistry longer than I’ve been alive and knows what he’s doing. I’m so happy to have finally found an office I really trust. All of the staff are very caring. I got a dental implant here and Dr. Uthman made it painless, minimally invasive, and carefully explained everything to me. He really took the time to address all of my concerns and made sure I was comfortable. I won’t go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I have severe dental anxiety, so when we moved away from my last dentist it took me far too long to find a new dentist. When I could no longer procrastinate due to what I thought was a cracked molar, a neighbor suggested Potomac Family Dental. I’m incredibly thankful I took her suggestion and made the appointment because Dr. Uthman and his staff are incredible! He understood my anxiety, and when I was told it was my wisdom tooth that needed removal I was in full on panic mode. All I could think of is the bone crunching stories I have heard from others who have had their wisdoms removed, so I was skeptical of Dr. Uthman’s assurances that I wouldn’t feel anything. Sure enough, true to his word all I felt were the slight pinches from the Novocain shot. I was so surprised I blurted, “You are GREAT!”. Dr. Uthman is hands down the best dentist I have ever been to, including his staff. It is quite apparent that they all love their jobs, and are very good at what they do. Thanks Potomac Family Dental!!

Fantastic experience: The staff here were extremely kind and helpful, especially with how I showed up late twice lol. Doctor Uthman was amazing, took care of me and always had an uplifting mood! Biggest take away is the numbing injection, every doctor I’ve been to I’ve felt it slightly or to a point were it was uncomfortable, but not here! I felt nothing. At all!!!!

I had a deep cleaning with Carren, and she was incredibly gentle, patient, and thorough. She explained everything step by step and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. From the moment I walked in, they were quick to help and got me in right at my appointment time—no waiting around at all. Fantastic experience: Best Dental Experience Ever! I recently visited Potomac Family Dental, and I have to say, it was hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and at ease. The receptionists were friendly, professional, and made the check in process seamless. Dr. Uthman is absolutely fantastic. He took the time to explain every step of the procedure in a way that was easy to understand and answered all of my questions with patience. I was especially impressed with the advanced technology they use it really shows how committed they are to providing the best care possible. The hygienist Karen was so gentle and thorough. I felt comfortable the entire time, and for once, I wasn’t dreading the cleaning process. The office is spotless, modern, and has a very calming atmosphere, which made my visit even more pleasant. Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough! The doctor, the staff, the dental hygienist and everyone here is so amazing. I found my forever dentist! Usually I don’t like to share when I find something great, but these folks are amazing. Thank you! Thank you! No pain on my root canal or cleaning whatsoever! Unheard of. After my root canal I went to hang out with my friends who also happen to be doctors and they were shocked that I had absolutely no pain and was happy go luck right after having my root canal!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ahmed and his team do an excellent job, I’m super happy with their service, professional and friendly. Just got my wisdom tooth extracted 2 days ago and I came to the office very anxious and scared about how the extraction procedure was going to go, Dr. Ahmed and his assistant made sure I was okay before we even started, the procedure took less than 10 minutes and I have no pain at all :). Fantastic experience: The doctor /nurses and front desk employees are so caring .They really care about making the patient feel very comfortable. I had some crowns and root canals done and the doctor made me feel so comfortable , he kept asking if i was doing alright and made sure i felt ok. The nurses where also very caring and both provided all the info I needed. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone i give this a 10/10 .

Negative experience: Front desk staff needs a crash course in customer service. Very unprofessional. I came in for scheduled appointment and approached the counter. A guy comes in a minute or so after me and stands behind me. The lady who came to the front desk ask the guy behind me could she help him. The guy looked at me and says “He was here before me.” The lady then asks me could she help me. The other lady working front desk never asked for my insurance card and once I told her that I did have insurance she stated that they don’t assume that a person has insurance and it was my job to let her know that I had insurance. I updated my paperwork due to it being 2 years since coming to this office and there was no question about insurance. Terrible experience and will never cone to office again.
Mr. Carter we are very sorry that you are unhappy with your experience at our practice. Our office doesn't assume that every patient has insurance. And our paperwork has an insurance notice section where patients are asked to bring their insurance card to their first appointment or to let us know if the insurance information has changed.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about my experience at Potomac Family Dental. To start, I was in severe pain—worse than labor! The kind of pain that makes you question if you'd rather just disappear. I needed an emergency extraction, and I called as soon as they opened at 8am on a Friday (which is probably one of the hardest times to get a last-minute appointment). I had never been to Potomac Family Dental before, but I explained how much pain I was in, and these amazing people moved mountains to see me immediately. I wasn’t exactly my usual happy-go-lucky self—I mean, who can be when it feels like your tooth is plotting revenge—but the entire team was so sympathetic. They never once let my snappy responses get to them, and I really appreciate how patient they were with me. Then, in came Dr. Uthman—my hero. He numbed the pain (thank goodness!), and suddenly I went from raging Hulk to calm Bruce Banner. He explained everything clearly, walked me through the process, and took away every ounce of fear I had. The entire staff was genuinely friendly, and let me just say, the office is gorgeous. It doesn’t feel like a typical sterile dentist office—it feels warm and welcoming. They've definitely earned a forever client in me. My children currently go to BriteStars, but not anymore—Potomac Family Dental will be our new home, because they treat you like family from the moment you walk in. If you're looking for a dentist, trust me—you will not be disappointed. They will take care of you like they took care of me, and for that, I’m forever grateful. Fantastic experience: I am currently in my second trimester and was suffering from extreme tooth pain. I called and was able to get a new patient appointment two days later, and a same day procedure. I have suffered with a phobia of dentist since I was a child. Today completely changed my perspective on dentist! This dentist was compassionate, walked me through the process, and his hands are magic! I didn't feel any pain, minimal discomfort and he checked on me the whole appointment. 15 years of clinical experience the most amazing professional staff and truly gifted doctor I've ever met.
