Fantastic experience: Been going here for over 20 years. However not sure what's going on now! I was recently told I had a cavity and I needed to replace a perfectly good crown. I decided to request for my files and went to another dentist for a 2nd option. Everything I was told was a lie. No cavities and crown was good, received a good report from a reputable dentist office. My family will not be going back to lowes island dentistry. Not to mention her staff seems to change every 6 months, with the exception of Cathy, she's been there a few years. My current dentist the staff has been there 37 years. I suggest take notice of staff and get a 2nd opinion.

The whole team is exceptional--from the receptionist, business manager and hygienists. Dr. Ansari has done several pin hole surgeries for me (amazing what can be done these days), crowns, fillings, Invisalign and more)! She is such an exceptional dentist! And, my hygienist, Li, is just so gentle, thorough, and highly knowledgeable--very talented in her profession! I leave the dentist feeling like I've received the highest quality of care. Fantastic experience: For many people there is nothing more frightening than a dental visit. I was definitely one of those people. Although, I always would do what I had to and go, it gave me anxiety beyond measure. Until, I met Dr. Ansari and her team at Lowes Island Dentistry. I unfortunately always had issues with my oral health. As a kid, although I was never into sweets or candy, I managed to show up at each checkup, with a newly formed cavity. As an early adult, in my college years, I became obsessed with taking care of my teeth. However, genetics soon began to take over and the major work began. By age 21 I just knew I was on a fast track to early dentures!!! Nonetheless, I did what was necessary, endured the discomfort and pain and proceeded with the necessary dental work when needed. In my last 30s, after having my two children, I continued to see a decline in my oral health and managed to completely lose a tooth, during the end of my last pregnancy. How could I be 36 and already missing teeth??? I floss, twice a day!!! Then due to the tremendous opportunity of competing for and winning the 2016 title of Mrs. DC America, I was blessed to meet Dr. Uzma Ansari and her beautiful staff. From my first visit I felt at ease and my anxiety was nearly non existent. This was the most comprehensive dental appointment I ever had. I left from my initial consult feeling informed, comfortable but most of all empowered to take control over my oral health and finally have the truly amazing smile I'm now wearing proudly everyday. She took the time to make an attainable treatment plan for me, so I always knew what treatment I was due for next and when. As well as making sure I had all insurance and tretment information at hand; especially regarding associated and predicted costs. My confidence has sored and I'm not even done!! I'm so excited for my next visit... Wait did I just say that? They are truly the best and now our entire family are patient's. Fantastic experience: I have gone to Lowes Island Dentistry for over 20 years. Today I went for my 6 month cleaning. The staff was courteous and on time. During the cleaning, the hygienist made sure I was comfortable. She also took time to answer questions. Dr. Ansari checked my teeth and made a few suggestions. She always take time to explain her recommendations. I highly recommend Lowe’s Island Dentistry.

Positive experience: The only reason why I give them 4 stars rather than 5 stars is because I almost always have to wait at least 15 minutes after my appointment time is scheduled. Other than that, everyone is super nice!

Adriana, the dental assistant, was fantastic. Today, my cleaning was done by Li, and I have to say, at 60 years young, I’ve never experienced a cleaning like this before. She was absolutely amazing—thorough, gentle, and incredibly skilled. The best I’ve ever had! And of course, I can’t forget Dr. Ansari. Fantastic experience: This dental practice is great. My son and I have been going here for over 2 yrs. Dr. Asari is patient and through. Ms. Li is a great dental assistant who is patient and does terrific cleaning.

Negative experience: I went here for a few years, but switched dentists and it was the best decision I made. It seems like all they did was try to nickel and dime you for everything and sell you dental work that you don’t need.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with this dentist office, especially Dr. Ansari. She told me I needed thousands of dollars’ worth of procedures right away or else my veneer would fall out. The pressure was intense, like I had no choice. Thankfully, I went for a second opinion — and learned that nothing was urgent. One cavity she claimed I had didn’t even exist, and the “discounts” she offered weren’t valid with my insurance, meaning I would have been stuck paying out of pocket. Beyond that, her behavior was unprofessional. She was rude to the dental assistant and front desk staff, which was uncomfortable to witness. After hearing from others in the community with similar negative experiences, I’m glad I trusted my instincts to get another opinion. I truly feel bad for the staff who have to work in this environment.

Fantastic experience: I just completed my Invisalign treatment today and couldn’t be happier with the results! I’ve been a patient here for a little over two years, and after searching for the right dental home, I can truly say I’ve found it. Both Dr. Asgard (formerly with the practice) and Dr. Ansari are incredible doctors. Dr. Ansari especially stands out — her perfectionism shows in her cosmetic and dental work, and it gave me so much confidence throughout my treatment. She really cares about getting everything just right, and it shows in the outcome. The office team is also amazing. Mackayla is one of the sweetest and kindest people you’ll meet, and the dental hygienist makes every visit comfortable and thorough. Negative experience: I’ve held off on writing this review because I wanted to compare my experience to another US dentist first. After doing so, I feel the need to inform others. I came in for a dental emergency while my mom was abroad due to a family loss. Despite being a legal adult, the dentist insisted on speaking with her before proceeding. When I declined, she began sharing her own recent loss and said she wouldn’t continue treatment unless my mother was involved. I felt emotionally cornered and ultimately called my mom just to move forward. That’s not how consent should be handled—it felt coercive and inappropriate. The cost and amount of work that needed to be done was extensive, but still did not warrant this behavior. I was not given a clear explanation of what was being done before instruments were in my mouth, and I was handed a waiver after treatment had started. The cleaning was the most painful I have EVER experienced. I had become emotional several times over the course of my visit. The dentist’s tone was cold and condescending. She sighed in frustration while assessing my teeth, criticized prior dental work I had done abroad, and spoke dismissively to some of her staff. Interestingly, once I agreed to move forward with some of the work, her demeanor changed completely—suddenly warm and friendly. To be fair, the front desk and hygienists were kind and accommodating, and I’m grateful for how quickly they handled the emergency. I appreciate the staff and Dentist for trying to give me discounts as well. But overall, I left feeling ashamed, pressured, and anxious. Poor oral health should never change a provider's bedside manner, and it did not at the second dentist I went to. Additionally, the second dentist deemed some of the measures that were recommended as unnecessary and excessive. The cost at Lowes Island Dentistry was also higher than at other practices.

Negative experience: The service was not to the par. They nickel and dime everything. Not the best experience.

Negative experience: The experience was fine. But they lack the communication on out of pocket expense. They shaved my night guard in order to balance it and forgot to mention that it will be charged, and the fact it will not be covered by insurance. They ended up charging me $100 for shaving my existing custom night guard. Sadly, the fix did not even help the pain for me. I would have appreciated a clear communication about their services.

Positive experience: It’s an okay dentist, not bad as they get the job done. The front desk receptionists are super sweet and helpful. The hygienists are good too. I find DMDs to be a bit lacking in “bedside manner” and they push a lot of the extras and not-necessary procedures, especially Invisalign.

Negative experience: I wish I had read the negative reviews because they are all very detailed and all very true. I wanted to switch dentists because after moving, I wanted a closer dentist. Believe the reviews when they say that this place is an absolute money grab. They tricked me into doing 8 fillings, through x-rays. My previous dentist never mentioned anything like this. I should of gotten another opinion, but I was naive and trusted her since I've only had nice, kind, good quality dentists. Literally after I did it, I have only experienced pain. Hot/cold food, acidic food, sweet food, and pretty much eating in general hurts. I tried to come back to do a bite adjustment, but literally every time, she basically blamed me and said that it's my fault that I can't tell her the exact location of where it hurts. Ummmm, let me brush off my imaginary dental degree. I've also done basic cleanings here from two different hygienists and let me tell you...the most painful cleanings I've ever had in my life. The last straw was when I tried to schedule a "final" bite adjustment (these are never-ending because I've realized she literally doesn't know how to fix the problem) and they called me to come early because the dentist was finished earlier than expected. I agreed because I was excited to have it done sooner since it was late in the evening and I had a tight appointment after, so I arrived to the office quickly. I ended up waiting in waiting room for 20 minutes....basically close to my original appointment time. I was only seen, when I mentioned it to the front desk receptionist. Literally another 20 minutes later, the doctor was finally available...to see another patient. I just left. And now I'm excited to find a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ansari is the absolute best dentist. She is extremely knowledgeable and has such a warm bedside manner and funny, too! She has been doing everything possible within my tight budget to save my teeth. I need extensive work, and little by little, she is putting me back together so I have functioning teeth to eat with and flash a smile, which I have struggled to deal with. You don't realize something as simple as smiling and eating can change your outlook until you have no teeth to do so. Her entire staff: Mikaela, Rabika, Cathy, her techs, etc. are pheonominal. They all make you feel welcome and treat you with care. I left my old dentist because she just wanted to keep pulling teeth and gave me no hope. Had I left their practice years ago, I might not be in the situation I am in. Dr. Ansari wants to save whatever she can and keep me out of tooth pain... and that was what I needed to hear. Her goal is not to pull unless it is the last resort. I have always been told to save whatever teeth I can, and I feel confident that Dr. Ansari cares enough about me as her patient, to do just that. Negative experience: I have never been so disappointed with any healthcare provider in my life as this place .Last year I went for a teeth filling and they did severalx-ray and gave me an estimate of my bill more than $2000 .After telling them several times that my sister is a dentist and I can go and do the treatment from her they keep asking me to go for treatment.This year I wanted a regular cleaning but they refused to do it saying I need deep cleaning and that would cost me more than $500.What kind of behavior is that ? I might not have that much money or I might not afford that treatment right now .No facility can force me to take service right ? It’s not free .I wanted to go with the option my insurance would support me for the time being.This is simply not acceptable.Neither me nor my family or friends will go this place ever again .Moreover I am going to submit a complaint against them for such behavior to me .I could give 0 if I could .

Fantastic experience: I was looking around for consultation for a dental problem I had over the weekend, couldn’t find any appts close by at any dentistry. So I just make a Zocdoc appt and walk in to Lowe’s Island Dentistry. The front office was very accommodating and took me in for an immediate slot, even though I was a new patient. Rabika helped me with all the pre-requisites of the treatment and is very kind & patient in updating all the process step by step. Dr. Ansari is really amazing at what she does, she brings in a lot of experience in narrowing down the issue and was very courteous in helping with the right suggestions and guided me well in taking the decisions. Lavanya the dental hygiene expert was very helpful in making the appropriate wellness check and recommendations. Overall it was a very good experience. Thank you and a big shout out to all!

Fantastic experience: Referred a family friend for her first ever dental apt. She is here visiting from another state and had trouble with a tooth that couldnt wait for her to return home. Every single person that works here from the front desk to the Doctors have exceptional customer service skills. Even making room for her to visit the same day. The doctor and her team went above and beyond to help her feel at ease during her appointment. Procedures and costs were explained using visuals on cutting edge tools! No surprises. The office really worked with us to organize the apts so they were financially feasible. She is so happy with the results of her treatment, even taking pictures of her new shiny smile and sending them to her family! Our whole family is already dedicated customers... glad we could share that with friends!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Lowes Island Dentistry! Five stars! I just returned from an emergency visit to Lowes Island Dentistry and could not be more pleased. When I woke up a crown was lifted off when I removed my retainer. Being the freak I am about dental hygiene, I panicked and started calling. I was able to communicate with an online chat assistant and then Makaela called me and got me in immediately! Makaela was professional and patient while juggling at least three other patients. I also appreciated Makaela coming back to my exam room to allow for my review of the bill. I was promptly seated by Rabika and Omar who were wonderful and able to calm my fears and then I met Dr. Ansari. WOW! She is amazing! Extremely efficient, meticulous and professional. Both Rabika and Omar were so diligent in assisting and Dr. Ansari was very conscientious of my time and comforted me with my unnecessary angst. Her attention to detail, compassion to my concerns, and overall exceptional care is phenomenal. I just hope I expressed my gratitude to her and the staff enough for treating me so promptly. Fantastic experience: I was referred by a friend for a second opinion. Very welcoming and kind atmosphere. Dr. Ansari exceeded my expectations. She went over and beyond explaining the pros and cons for my situation. She definitely cares and takes the time to get to know you and your communication style. I learned a lot. Negative experience: This review is for Dr. Ansari, not her staff, who have all been wonderful. I've been going to this dental office for over 10 years, yet she never remembered me. At my last appointment, her tone of voice was condescending while discussing my receding gum line. And at one point she was speaking to the hygienist about next steps as if I wasn't there. I didn't understand why she couldn't just talk to me directly since I was sitting right in front of her. Once she was done talking to the hygenist, Dr. Ansari then left without saying a word - not even a "bye". However, several seconds later I heard her laughing with her other staff in the back. After this, I decided it wasn't worth the 35-minute drive and switched to a dentist much closer to home (5 minutes away). I rarely write negative reviews, but my last experience was so disappointing that I was compelled to write one.

Negative experience: Have mean to write this review for a while now, spent two hours getting “sold” on a bunch of products and services only for the dentist to never actually look in my mouth at my actual teeth, only my X-rays and photos they made me take at the beginning. Maybe because it was right before they closed for the day and rushed the actual exam? Lol.

Negative experience: I had my daughter appointment at 8.30 am they call me 2 days before to reschedule it at 9.00 am whitout letting know the dentist about it. So huge mismanagement and unprofessional behavior. I came 20 min before my daughter scheduled and they ask me my visit will be short. WHY? this is. Rip off place and discrimination dentistry to be avoided by friends and neighbors. Stay away ...there is plenty of great dentists in Loudoun County. Based in my name.my skin color.and paying cash ...they deny my daughter visit .... If this behavior should repeat this place need to be sued .

Was super disappointed that I wasn't informed that Dr. Ansari - whom I have come to trust was not the attending Doctor on that day. Fast forward six weeks and the appointment was nothing like it was described nor was the cost. At the end everything worked out. Love Lowes Island Dentistry but there are times over the past couple of years where I feel there is lots of poor communication. Staying positive because of Dr. Ansari.

Fantastic experience: I went to these folks a couple days ago for the first time . they took great care of me and helped whiten my bottom teeth, Dr Ansari is wonderful as is the entire staff and they explained everything to me very clearly. I am excited to be working with them for other dental work that I need, and I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: Aaaahhhhhmazing!! 10’s across the board. My husband has severe anxiety and all around just a man child. He’s been complaining about his tooth bothering him for over a year and finally couldn’t take it anymore. I googled and searched and at 5:05 PM I called and was able to get him in within 20 mins on the same day . She diagnosed him and got him into her schedule within 2 days. The day of was a nightmare because of his anxiety, but the entire office from NOR at the front desk (I hope I’m saying it right) to the rest of the staff… went above and beyond to make him comfy. He now has a dentist he loves and knows they will accommodate him and his anxiety. Phenomenal job and pain free.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ansari and her staff are just the greatest. I’m a very nervous patient, but they do everything to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I never want to go see Dr. Ansari, but I’m never sorry I went. For me, that’s big!

Negative experience: Our experience was not as expected. Both of my daughters said their cleaning was aggressive. To the point of painful. They advised it was the most aggressive cleaning they ever had. My younger daughters cleaning lasted about 5 minutes. When I asked if she was finished they said yes. Her cleaning was incomplete and no polish was done. I am disappointed at the service we received.

Fantastic experience: I stopped in last week just to ask a question and amazingly they were able to see me immediately for X-rays and assessment. Everyone in the entire office was so nice and gentle.Dr Ansari explained my treatment program thoroughly and in terms I could understand. The hygienist and Cathy the receptionist were awesome as well. I’m really excited to get my mouth in order.

She talks you through the options and the entire procedure as it’s being done. She’s fast and precise. Her work speaks for itself. Fantastic experience: Dr. Ansari and her team were truly AMAZING! I was recommended the dentistry by a friend who raved about the amazing bedside manner and patient centered care the staff had, and I can attest to the greatness that each of the employees brought! From the women at the receptionist's counter to the dental hygienist to Dr. Ansari herself. I had to get multiple cavities filled in each section of my mouth and I had a lot of anxiety when it came to pain in the dentist chair, but the staff was so kind and continually asked me if I was doing okay or if I was in any pain. I felt so seen and heard. I also had a root canal performed on my front tooth that was covered by a 7 year old dental crown that didn’t match the shade of my other teeth and was sliding out from years of wear. Dr. Ansari fixed my smile ✨she replaced my crown and got the PERFECT shade match!! I am so grateful for her attention to detail and hard-work in ensuring I left feeling happy and confident. I would recommend ANYBODY to go to this dentistry because you will not be dissatisfied. They are amazing and really treat you like family, which is always a big win in my book :)

Negative experience: Negative 5 stars if that was an option. +1 for the wonderful tech that took my x-rays. She was very nice. I had not been to the dentist in a very long time, and found a Groupon for cleaning and whitening (this was over a year ago) for $80. Great deal. Upon entering the office there were reviews on the wall of how great the staff was, so although nervous, I felt I had made a good choice. I had my X-rays taken and so far the staff had made me feel comfortable. The second the dentist came in she was rude and invasive. She poked at the erosion of my enamel until it hurt and said I needed an expensive deep cleaning that would require them to numb all of my mouth at once (and be expensive). She made me feel awful when I was already feeling incredibly embarrassed for my situation. An electric toothbrush took care of my erosion problem, and after another year of dentist anxiety my new dentist did a normal cleaning (like I signed up for here and didn’t get) that removed a lot of build up, and I only needed some deep cleaning. I still needed a lot more work, but I’m glad I didn’t give any more of my money to this nasty dentist. My whitening kit I paid for I left and I have zero interest in ever stepping foot into that office again. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews posted all over the office. There are better dentists in the area that aren’t nasty.

Fantastic experience: I had a thorough comprehensive new patient appointment with hygienist Ms. Ozra and Dr. Ansari today. Ms. Ozra is simply amazing and the best hygienist one can ask for. She is meticulous in her work and goes above and beyond in explaining one's oral health condition. Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful care from from Dr. Ansari and staff throughout multiple (intensive) dental procedures. As a patient of this practice for many years I have always been treated superbly and with empathy/understanding of my dental fears and concerns. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
