Negative experience: Edited 7/37/26- 6 months later I really wanted to stand by my original 5 star review but it’s been hard to. Having called around I see now that I was severely price gouged and they lacked no care for my financial situation that I was transparent about. They also removed my permanent crown and gave me a CEREC crown. It’s not even been 6 months and this crown has extreme sensitivity to pressure and temperature. It also randomly throbs and aches my entire face.i went from my perfect crown of 8 years to this absolute horrible crown. They do cleanings well when they’re not trying to up charge you 500$ for special treatment each time you go in. My advice, go elsewhere. They’ve shown very little care about patients situation. They also do in fact make you wait 1+ hours in chair most of the times you go there. Everything you see the 1 star reviews saying is in fact true. I wish I had listened to them. **original 5 star review** As someone who has been afraid to go to the dentist for years and deals with adhd I cannot recommend this dentists office enough. Not only did they understand the hardships of maintaining dental health/habits due to my adhd, they were very empathetic. A thorough assessment was done and every single person I’ve interacted with was kind, personable, friendly and funny! They explained each and everything they found and through the many many dentists office I’ve been through this one has been the most thorough, precise and educational. Everything was explained to me in depth, knowledgeable and in ways I could understand. They did a phenomenal job through and through and have great payment plans. This practice has overall restored my faith in seeing a dentist and taking care of my oral health. I truly could not recommend them more to anyone who feels scared, judged, self conscious or thinks they cannot afford a dentist!

Fantastic experience: I just wanna take time out this morning to Thank the Staff of Dentist of Sterling. I stop in yesterday because I thought I needed my tooth pulled. I was hurting so bad! Thank-you Dr. Saiyed for taking care of me. Not only did Dr. Saiyed help me with the pain but she saved my tooth by way of root canal. Awesome job, don’t take long, and I didn’t feel any pain at all doing the procedure! Special Kudos going out to your assistant Diana whom also took care of me like I was her little brother. Also want to say Thanks to TaLaya whom professionally explain the best avenue to help me go down, to get things done as far as financially. Negative experience: I’ve just had my front tooth ruined by Dr. Uppuluri. I went in today with a small chip on my front tooth. To her credit, she gave me two options: the first was to leave it alone (to avoid putting additional stress on a tooth) and the other was to "polish it" slightly for "aesthetic purposes." ​The way I understood it, polishing does not typically include sawing off a chunk of the tooth’s length. Apparently, in this case, it did. If she had told me my tooth would become so much shorter than before, let alone notably shorter that my other front tooth (how is that aesthetic?), I would never have agreed to the "polishing." I have already had to schedule a cosmetic restoration elsewhere to fix the damage.

Fantastic experience: Been going to this place for dental work since early 2019. They have always been prompt with confirming/scheduling appointments (both) and are very quick and precise with their procedures. Ranju Rajesh in particular has given some of the best dental care I have received. Highly recommend both her and Dentists of Sterling!

Positive experience: The office staff are nice. The office nice as well. The reason for the 3 stars is that my son had fillings placed a little less than 2 yrs ago and I was told they aren't good fillings and it is why he now has to have the same ones re-done. I understand I have to pay for the work, but if they were done correctly the first time I wouldn't have to pay for it all over again with no type of modification to the cost. It's really annoying. Regular cleanings they do just fine.

Negative experience: At first it was nice and dentists were good but then i recommended this to my parents and oh wow what a disaster that was! Warning! You could be paying more than ur suppose to! I paid and all bc i thought that what they said was the amount to pay but then when my mom got the same cleaning she thought it was too much and as them to revised and in did the person in charge of the billing was wrong and overbilled her. I was like oh man i should of done the same. Oh well my fault but then my mom got more treatment and they kept messing up with the amount owed and what was sent to the insurance.. they got money from her and my dad and also got money from the insurance.. When my mom pointed it out they apologies and said they credit her.. Afterwards, not this happening over and over again.. She has so many credit and they use.. then claim then reissue another credit bc she points it out everytime.. its happen three times now.. We dont know what to do with credit there is so much she can get done.. its ridiculous and they refuse to refund.

Fantastic experience: I had a long and challenging dental procedure that took nearly a year to complete, and I was honestly quite stressed throughout the process. Despite that, Dr Saiyed was incredibly helpful, professional, and cordial at every visit and the staff was also very helpful and supportive throughout. We ran into a complication along the way, but Dr. Waise took the time to carefully figure out a solution, and thanks to their expertise and persistence, we were finally able to complete the procedure successfully. I’m very grateful for their dedication and care, which made a difficult experience much more manageable.

Negative experience: This practice has serious price-gouging issues and a troubling lack of transparency in its treatment recommendations and billing. I was recommended only treatments that were not covered by my insurance plan. My son was also quoted $2,000 for a filling, but after seeking a second opinion elsewhere, the same procedure was completed for just $200.

Fantastic experience: Dentists of Sterling was a lucky find for me, as my previous dentist stopped taking my insurance. They're a great balance of expertise and - above all - non judgmental treatment. The latter is made even greater by the fact that they're not trying to sell me on cosmetic veneers or UV whitening. Instead, Dr. Saiyed and D.A. Nargis were like patient artists, explaining what they were doing and achieving it masterfully. I was very pleasantly amazing by how things always end up exactly as they say it will (sort of like a Rube Goldberg machine).

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dentists of Sterling for years, and I am very pleased with the care and professionalism the team provides. My smile has definitely improved. I truly recommend Ranju Rajesh (RDH) and Dr. Saleha Saiyed (BDS, DMD).

Negative experience: I highly recommend avoiding this practice. I've had two separate experiences here, and both were administrative and clinical nightmares. Visit 1: I called ahead to confirm they took my insurance and was told my initial consult was free. I had no work done, yet they billed my insurance and sent me a personal bill. I’ve called every two months, and despite their staff confirming on the phone that I owe $0, they still sent this fake debt to collections. Visit 2 (A year later): I came in at 4 PM in severe pain, thinking I needed one tooth pulled. The clinic closes at 6, and the staff was literally running to rush me through a CT scan (I appreciated them squeezing me in on extremely short notice). I sat in the chair, and without even opening my mouth to look inside, the dentist recommended pulling two teeth and starting two root canals immediately. While a second opinion later confirmed I did need the work, Sterling’s approach felt predatory—trying to lock a vulnerable, in-pain patient into thousands of dollars of major surgery right before closing time (I assumed that once the work started, I wouldn't have been able to go to a different clinic). To make matters worse, I told them I was self-pay and not to bill my expired insurance; they billed it anyway. When I asked for my treatment plan to think it over, they handed me another patient’s medical records (a HIPAA violation). It has been 1.5 months and 4-5 phone calls, and they still haven't sent me my own treatment plan. Go anywhere else.

Negative experience: I don’t recommend dentist of sterling I went for treatment I end with pain every time I go there I end with more pain in my jaws. In my teeth

Negative experience: I had good experience with Samira. She is professional, experienced and made me feel comfortable whenever I felt anxious or nervous about going to the dentist. The other staff are either reckless with your dental work or money hungry. I would always get recommended for treatments that would be cost me a lot out of pocket. I had my crowns done from this office and completely regret it as there was too many mistakes during the process. Do not get your crowns there. Please choose a dentist office that cares more about your dental health rather than bleeding your wallet. Smile Generation is notorious in some online forums for putting money over patients. Re-consider going there and if you do decide to go, don't fall for unnecessary treatments. I've been going to them for 2-3 years and will no longer go to them.

Fantastic experience: Have been coming here for years and it is always a pleasant experience. From receptionists, to dental assistants, to the doctors, they always go above and beyond. Their kindness and professionalism is comforting and makes dental visits less intimidating. Special shout out to Diana and Dr. Saiyed for their outstanding care during my most recent visit. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Negative experience: Don't waste your time with this place. They will have you waiting 1hr + to see a dentist for a regular old cleaning. Then they'll lie to you and tell you that its because of an emergency that they are running behind, when in reality, the dentists are at times TRIPLE BOOKED. I had the pleasure of hearing the staff celebrate their monthly sales goal while I was waiting for over 2 hrs to receive service. If you respect yourself and your time, go to one of the other 100 dentists in the area.

Negative experience: A small piece of my tooth broke, so I went to Dr. Roha Ali. She told me I needed a root canal followed by a crown and was willing to charge nearly $2,000 out of pocket. She also said I needed gum therapy. I felt very worried and stressed. That same day, she charged my insurance $400. I then went to another dentist, who said I did not need a root canal because the damage had not reached the nerve. To be sure, I also visited a root canal specialist, who confirmed that I did not need it. I’m glad I didn’t proceed with the root canal and spend money unnecessarily. I only needed a simple filling, and the problem is completely gone now.

Fantastic experience: Easy to make an appointment, staff are all very friendly and helpful. Outlined exact cost before providing treatment. High tech equipment. Dental hygienist, Ranju provides very meticulous cleaning and is very accommodating. She goes above and beyond and even reaches out to help with appointment scheduling as needed.

Negative experience: Truly a waste of time. From the time they finish the scan, it’s all a sales pitch. The one star review are right, it’s all about sales. Contacting back was of no help. Stay away, their only focus is sales, sales, sales.

Negative experience: I visited the clinic on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, where I received a treatment payment plan for root canals on two teeth. I had to call seven times to get my name corrected in their system—only the seventh call finally resolved it. Later, I called to schedule the root canal (RC) with the Endodontist and confirm the payment. That’s when I discovered the initial estimate covered only crowns, not the RC—so the cost would now increase. I clearly instructed them not to schedule any appointment at this time. Despite this, a day later, I received a message confirming that an appointment had been scheduled anyway. I attempted to cancel it via the patient portal, but it stated that appointments can only be canceled by phone—no online option was available. I called the provided number 2–3 times, only to be told they couldn’t cancel it directly and needed to send a request to a “special team.” I’ve never experienced this level of mismanagement. I’m truly puzzled by their 4.4 rating on Google.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with the team here at dentists of sterling! They always did a great job at making sure I felt comfortable and were always on time. I’ve been coming here for a few years and have never left unhappy! I’m especially happy with the service I received from Samira and Dr. Saiyed!

Negative experience: I will not be returning to this dentist anymore. I thought it was only me but now reading the reviews I can see that they are understaffed, overpriced and are a big money grabbing scam. I’ve been here 3 times to get a cleaning and they always try to push deep cleanings which are over $1000. I went there in Feb and I was sitting on the chair for 2 hours. I gave them another chance and went back and the same thing happened. 2 hours wait to get my cleaning and they said they could not do a simple cleaning on me because it was company policy. Of course they tell me that after I was already sitting for 1.5 hours. I would recommend staying away from dentists of Sterling.

Negative experience: The dentist removed my permanent crowns and referred me to their specialist for re-treatment of my root canals. I waited a month for that appointment, only to be told by the specialist that they would not perform the procedure. When I requested a refund, the amount I received was insufficient. On top of that, I was sent incorrect bills for services I should not have been charged for. I have tried to contact the office manager for over a month with no response. This experience has caused me significant pain and emotional distress, and reflects a serious lack of professionalism and care from both the doctor and the staff at this office. I will lose three teeth because of them!

Negative experience: I have been going to the Dentists of Sterling for 9 years. I was sold the very expensive CEREC crowns for several of my teeth. I was guaranteed they would last forever. Now a few years later one of the crowns has come off. I go back to have it looked at and they tell me it will be $3600 to put it back on because there's a cavity in what's left of my actual tooth. Seems to me that if the crown was put on correctly there would be no chance of a cavity forming. Now I'm worried about the other CEREC crowns I have falling off. I have lost all confidence in the Dentists of Sterling because they will not stand behind their work. I will take my dental care needs some place else and recommend you do the same.

Fantastic experience: Great office and excellent customer service, Talaya was kind chipper and very helpful. Ranju (hygenist) is amazing, I’ve been seeing her for a quite sometime. She’s efficient, thorough and excellent at her job. She explains every thing thoroughly, allows time to ask questions and ensures you know what is happening before moving forward. During the procedure she checks in frequently to ensure I’m ok as well. In a world where things are so often rushed I really appreciate that.

Positive experience: Facilities are very clean and everyone is very friendly. I like that is very close to my job and home so I can get to the office really easy and my hygienist Dr. Ranju Rajesh is very nice and knowledgeable but unfortunately they have too many outside subcontractor doctors and sometimes is really difficult to get something done. Also, their scheduling system is very bad, your appointment times change most of the time without notice, you end up knowing it has change when you get a call confirming just a day before, so you either agree with the time or have to reschedule, but when you reschedule, sometimes the appoitnment is not there or appears as you cancel it as well. But. Like ai said, the location for me is very convenient.

Fantastic experience: My 3 daughters and I have been coming to Dentist of Sterling to see Ranju, Diana, and the team for over seven years, since my girls were 7,7, and 2. They are the BEST. They take wonderful care of my family, they’ll see us all in the same appointment block and work to make sure that we understand our plan of care and how to take care of oral health. They always remember us and will work with me to ensure that the financing is doable for me. My oral health has vastly improved through the care of Ranju and everyone else. It’s always painless and efficient. I cannot speak highly enough about this team.

Negative experience: Scammers. It took me years to write this review because I initially thought they had made an honest mistake. But after reading recent reviews, I now realize they absolutely tried to scam me out of $500 (out of pocket) for a routine cleaning. Thankfully, I caught on before paying by checking with my insurance. The front desk woman, Eden (not sure if she’s still there), was in on the scam as well. This place is a complete joke and you should avoid at all costs.

Negative experience: This place is a scam now. I went in for regular cleaning and the new doctor recommended thousands worth of laser treatment, crown, etc. etc. I have been a long time patient here and nothing like that was ever been recommended. My 30 mins prophylaxis appointment lasted around 2 hours, and when I declined the expensive treatment, my dental cleaning was not done properly either(probably as retaliation). The cleaning was done in under 10 mins. If possible, stay away from this place!

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient at Dentists of Sterling for many years, and until now, I’ve always felt comfortable and well cared for. But after my most recent visit, I left feeling deeply uneasy— and reading the latest reviews, I can see others are having similar experiences. My appointment lasted nearly two hours (10:00 AM to 11:45 AM), and for the first time, I felt like I had walked into a car dealership instead of a dental office. I was suddenly told I needed multiple crowns costing around $13,000, along with a mouth guard — none of which had ever been mentioned in all my years coming here. I’m not saying the diagnosis was incorrect, but it was surprising that this had never come up before. I’ve had deep cleanings and laser treatments in the past, so I’m not unfamiliar with more involved dental work. But this time, the experience felt like a high-pressure sales pitch. After the dentist explained the treatments, they said the office manager would "take care of me" financially, which felt strange. The office manager then presented a massive bill (thousands) and started offering payment plans — as if this was some kind of sales transaction, not a healthcare decision. When I expressed my surprise, the office manager made a comment about how “there’s a reason the previous staff isn’t here anymore,” which was a red flag. Speaking poorly of former colleagues — including a hygienist I trusted and liked — felt unprofessional and unnecessary. After I declined most of the expensive treatment plan, I was still asked to sign a document that listed all of the proposed treatments — including the ones I had clearly declined. I had to specifically ask the office manager to remove those items so that the document accurately reflected only the care I had agreed to receive. That added pressure, combined with the overall sales-like atmosphere, left me feeling less like a patient and more like a sales prospect. This is not the kind of experience I expect from a healthcare provider, and it’s disappointing to see how much the practice has changed.

Negative experience: This place is a scam. They are not dentist more like professional salesmen. My regular dentist is booked out so I came here for a simple cleaning and they were trying to charge me almost 3k including 2 crowns, deep cleaning, lasers, blah blah. Why do they think people who usually pay $0 for their standard cleaning will shell out 3k without it being a planned expense, like do they think people will just spend 3-4k within 2 min of sitting down for a cleaning they thought would be free? Also after I declined their scams and just wanted a deep cleaning, which they charged $145 for, they were being not as friendly and took me 2 hours to leave the chair. I should have declined the deep cleaning all together, which I suggest you do. Like every single person does not need a deep cleaning. I see everyone saying that’s what they were recommended. Like why do they think people have 2 hours for a cleaning they thought would take 30 min. Imagine if I waited for crowns it would have taken 4 hours bc they wait for crowns to get delivered. Waste of time, money and patience. My regular dentist never recommended a me a deep cleaning instead tries to work with me on how I can save money instead.

Negative experience: Avoid at this place at all cost!!! The entire teams are scammers rather than health care providers. They will try to up sale you at all cost. I went in and got quote for 4000+ including 3 crowns. I asked a couple opinions from different dentists and they told me it looked completely healthy to them! They are short staffed and made me stay for more than 2.5 hours without cleaning process. Even the cleaning they charged me more than 300 dollars; whereas my current dentist charged zero. Their dentist was juggling among three patients, and they did not have a hygienist. Their office manager will show up with tattoos on his arms and tried to gaslighting you to buy their products. I would rate zero if I can.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Dentist of Sterling. Dr. Masih is truly amazing. She’s gentle, caring, and always makes me feel safe and at ease. Jeff, the office manager, and TaLaya are warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient as I continue to work through my fear of the dentist. Samira and the rest of the dental assistants are kind, attentive, and help make every visit more comfortable. Ranju, the hygienist, is excellent, thorough, gentle, and calming. I’m so grateful for this entire team. Their compassion and support have made all the difference in my experience.

Negative experience: I made an appointment for a dental cleaning, but had to wait 30 minutes past my scheduled time. Then, I waited another hour and a half in the dental chair. The staff tried to convince me to get a deep cleaning, which I declined since it cost over $1,000—but they kept insisting. Eventually, they gave up and performed a regular cleaning, but the dentist did a very sloppy job. I will never come back again.

Fantastic experience: I'm a big baby when it comes to dental work but Dr. Masih, Tara, and Samira made me feel very comfortable during my procedure. They answered every question with confidence and took their time when I needed it most. I will never go anywhere else for dental work. Everyone at the front desk is also welcoming and patient. Fantastic experience: This was my first time going to this dentist and I loved it. Since I stepped in, the receptionist, Nina was friendly, helpful and efficient. Tara, the doctor’s assistant was extremely kind and considerate, very gentle and patient, she constantly checking on me, making sure I was okay and asking whether I needed anything for my comfort. Dr. Rodríguez was professional and explained things clearly. They were very transparent about the costs and insurance coverage. I 100% recommend going there!

Negative experience: I recently moved to the area and decided to try this dentist office, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. During my visit, they informed me about multiple issues they had found, even though I had just seen a dentist six months ago, and everything was healthy at that time. The appointment itself was unusually long — they spent over an hour taking extensive X-rays and photos of my mouth, which felt excessive. Before I even had the cleaning (which is what I was scheduled for), an office staff member came in with an estimate for all of the issues they claimed I needed to have fixed. The whole situation felt more like a sales pitch than a genuine health assessment. I’m left questioning the care and motives behind their recommendations.

Negative experience: I was their patient since 2021.. I always like their place and work until recently. Back on April 2024 they told me I need deep cleaning cause my number was 2,3 and 4. I talked to friend of mine which is dentist and she said you dont need it. so I declined and they did regular cleaning. next time on October 18th 2024 they said if I dont do the deep cleaning which my portion was $550 they cant see me again . refused it. I asked them to give me the medication to take care of my gums for 2 months and see with more attention I can skip it. again on 12/18/2024 they checked many numbers gets better but same statement " if you dont get deep cleaning we cant accept you here any more" so I paid $545 and they did it. later I got insurance bill which found my portion was only$76. I never got my money back from them. 2 weeks after the procedure, on 1/4/2025 I feel a space between my tooth number 4 and the gum and I can see gray line. I visited them on 1/10/2025. the dentist told me the tooth is infected and I need to remove it ASAP and start the implant process. they give me estimate for more than $6K which I still have copy of everything. they told me to schedule as soon as possible ... I immediately talked with my friend who is dentist and my previous dentist .. All of them said , they need to see xray to check how the tooth is doing. after 5 days of stress finally they send the picture to me and as soon as I show them both said nothing is wrong with the tooth. I booked an appointment with another local dentist .. she said the edge of crown is broken so we need to change it !!! which I believe who did deep cleaning broken it cause there is no way they miss the broken crown and not tell the dentist to look at it . and then she remove it and clean under , told me the root canal is short so before we put new crown its better to retreat it . which I went to Chantilly office which is one the dentist of Sterling branches and they took care of it again dr. Lake their endo said nothing wrong with the tooth and just need new crown and based on 3D image he told me you didnt need even deep cleaning!!!! everything is healthy. all the process from removing the old crown, root canal and new crown cost me $530 . I called the office and asked them to call me so I can talk about the issue . they never did. and I found many people with the same issue. hopefully someone call me and have explanation. I will never go back to that office and told all of my friend that I refer to be aware. I will not go there anymore

Negative experience: I want to give a very honest review. This place is understaffed and overbooked. My first check up and cleaning took 2 hours. There was a lot of waiting in the middle. The next appointment I had was filling’s. You have the option to pay before the procedure or after. I paid before. I waited around 40 minutes to get called in and the Dr was in such a rush. I paid for 3 procedures and the doctor worked on 1 and walked away before I could say anything. The assistant said that I’m good to go. Then I told her I am here for 3 procedures. She went and talked to the dr. The dr came back and worked on the other two procedures. If I hadn’t paid attention they would have done 1 procedure at the price of 3 since I paid in the beginning. Not only that after the procedures were done I felt a tingling sensation near the left side of my mouth where they put the equipment. I check an hour later and there was a cut on my face. I don’t think any of this was intentional but I wanted to address my concerns. I just think the doctor and assistants are so busy that they make mistakes. Other than that I will say they are very thorough with the checkup and the team is nice. Although they are on the pricey side, they are very transparent on how much each procedure is. I just think they need to book less people or hire more staff.
