Negative experience: This is by far the worst Dentist I have been too, Let’s start by the doctor. He’s so unprofessional very rude and disrespectful towards patient and Staff. I witnessed that with my own eyes and ears mind you. This is my first time at the dentist office. He doesn’t even dress appropriate as a Doctor Who is taking care of you, he speak very rudely to patient and to workers. I witnessed he speak so rude to a patient while I was there on Monday. Also, the front desk, lady, she’s quite rude also. This Office do not know how to treat patient. I had my appointment at 3:30pm, I wait over one hour 30 minutes just to see the doctor for them not to do anything. Doctor did not even explain to me what I need to get done or what procedure need to be done. Avoid this office at all time. They have no manners or respect for anyone at this office very shameful and disrespect. And the doctor can do way better and speaking and looking professional. If you know, what’s good for you, avoid this office. I will not be returning here

Negative experience: This dental office is extremely unprofessional. You barely can get through to make appointments. The receptionist Sherwin is very rude. I’ve complained about her twice. She told me I’m going to make sure you don’t come here anymore and I explained to her that’s not her decision. The billing department is unprofessional and extremely lazy. My insurance mentioned my crown would be approved if they can provide the appropriate documentation and they have failed to do so. It’s going on two months my root canal has been completed and I still haven’t had the crown placed, because the billing department along with the receptionist lacks communication skills. And efficacy. Went in person multiple times to find out what the issue is because you can’t get through to speak to anyone. They make it very difficult. Do not come to this place you will TRULY regret it. They lack empathy and management will not reach out to follow up on any concerns or complaints they DO NOT CARE AT ALL.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed to share that after 2 years I had a negative experience with this office. The customer service was poor, and I was charged for services that should have been covered by my insurance. I was told that the DMO plan does not reimburse them sufficiently, but I don’t understand why that should result in additional charges to me—especially for services I could have received fully covered elsewhere. When I called to request an itemized bill, my request was refused, which was particularly frustrating. I would not recommend this place! EDIT: Why is it the patient's responsibility if an in-network insurance does not pay the provider if the provider did everything they are supposed to be doing correctly? Instead of answering to my review with more lies, please provide an itemized bill as requested by myself and my insurance, and respond to my complaint as submitted by the insurance representative on my behalf. You also submitted a claim with a provider who is not in network, hence the insurance refusing to pay. Please do your job and be better at patient retention! On my hand, you can be sure I will take all the necessary steps I can to make sure this does not happen to other prospective patients and yes, I will find another provider who is straight forward with their practices and does not blame the patient for a faulty system!

Fantastic experience: Had my first appointment at Total Dentistry today which exceeded my expectations. I recommend a smaller private practice such as this if you are accustomed to the churn and burn corporate clinics throughout the city. I had no issues with the on boarding for my first visit and my doctor Adrian and the hygienist Paula were 10/10. Dental health is so important to me so I'm very glad to have a good experience here and happy to recommend to others.

Negative experience: This dentist completely ripped me off. They accepted my insurance, Dentaquest, with a backup credit card, CareCredit. They claimed that insurance claim was denied and proceeded to charge $2500 to my credit card after only taking X-rays. I called insurance and no claim was put in and no claim was denied. Now my credit card wants me to pay $2500 for nothing. My insurance claim was approved with another Dentist. These people are ripoff artists and do not respond to messages from myself or the BBB.

Negative experience: I started going to above place in August 2025 as I needed an oral surgeon. Most places do the procedure first before they get paid. Your office wanted the money upfront first. On two occasions, I kept my appts for nothing as the dentures were not ready at the time. Should have called me first to reschedule. As for the implant procedure, I was expected to go to brooklyn which was too far for me to travel. I am glad you moved to another location due to ambulatory problems.

Negative experience: Dentist charged my credit card even though I have insurance. No work was performed and insurance never received a claim. I’m now in a battle with Synchrony bank regarding this false charges

Negative experience: I actually read the feedback before heading there and they're correct. My insurance approved a root canal and a crown. They wanted to charge me an additional $800 procedure which I did NOT need. I said no to the entire procedure, I'll find another specialist. Money hungry people.

Negative experience: Rarely do I write reviews, but as a dental professional with many years of experience in the field I feel it is my duty to inform others about "Total Dentistry Care PLLC"'s unacceptable treatment of vulnerable people with "non ideal" insurances (Medicaid) in need of "non ideal" (not as profitable) procedures. Initially I was grateful and relieved at the speed with which I was able to get my mother seen to remove a tooth that desperately needed to be extracted in order to proceed with making new dentures. I figured a bone graft would be necessary to preserve the ridge on the bottom jaw to properly retain and seat the future denture, so we made it work and payed out of pocket for the bone graft. This is not a review of competence, but of greed. The procedure went and healed beautifully. It is the lack of the integrity my poor Mom is being treated with now that she is healed and ready to start the process of making new dentures. I KNOW that dentures are an arduous process requiring many visits and adjustments (part of the problem being the constant changing that bone continually undergoes once there are no longer any remaining teeth to maintain regular bone levels), and that Medicaid's fee schedules are far from "palatable" to the practicing dentist. Regardless: if you take the insurance, and ESPECIALLY if you started something and gave your word, have the decency and professionalism to finish it. On the day of the extraction (OCTOBER 4th) and bone graft, the office said they would send out a pre-authorization to the insurance for coverage of the dentures and would let us know as soon as the response came in (average response time being 2 weeks). Granted, the out of pocket portion was split up into 2 payments with the second being scheduled to be paid on November 6th. While it is common sense that we would not be able to proceed with starting impressions for the dentures until the second portion has been paid, the VERY LEAST the office could have done was actually contact me once pre-authorization has been received and SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. They didn't. As a matter of fact, I called to make our payment a day early on November 5th, and while they had no problem taking the money, I was quickly rushed off the phone and told I would be called back on the same day when I asked about the pre-authorization for the dentures and asked to schedule an appointment to proceed. (My poor Mom can barely eat as solid foods are obviously not an option given that she now has no teeth!). It is also obvious to me that they are understaffed, probably underpaid, and certainly in no rush to schedule a patient that has a non-ideal insurance and is in desperate need of dentures. They had somebody totally incompetent that knows absolutely nothing about dentistry and I'm not sure even fluently speaks English (which of course is no fault of their own but is the fault of the practice for not even bothering to provide proper training) call me back. I had spoken to this employee (presumably a male if based solely on voice) multiple times and hit the same wall. He told me that he would "pass the information on to the front desk and they would call me back the same day." Here we are on NOVEMBER 14TH and no call back. The last time I had actually reached competent front desk (the same girl that had taken our payment and rushed me off the phone) she told me to please hold and, after I waited for at least 20 minutes, I was TRANSFERRED TO VOICEMAIL, only to then receive a phone call from the same incompetent employee that said they would "pass the information along" once more. Shame on you for your painfully apparent greed, dishonesty, and lack of humanity. I will be taking my mother to another dentist with integrity and humane values to finish the job you started so Mom can get the teeth and treatment that she deserves.

Positive experience: I visited once and I’m looking forward to my 2nd visit in Nov. 2025. My visit was for a routine checkup. My teeth were cleaned and r was good. My experience was very good. The front desk staff staff was friendly.. Dental hygienist, Debussy assistance and the Dentist were very professional. All in all my experience went smoothly and I was satisfied.

Negative experience: Was planning to make this my main dentist office because the woman who cleaned my teeth, the X-ray person was really good, female dentist seen on the 11 was also good . But TARA the receptionist/ supervisor, did not put claim in on the 11th for services dentist recommended as I was told until I called back on the 19th. It’s now 10/06 my insurance needs more information to do root canal I ask to speak with dentist since this is my 4th denial of more information needed. Tara refuses to let me speak with dentist. I also just received an email not to come back into office by TARA due claims being put in wrong or without support documentation to complete root canal treatment, instead I got an email after asking to speak with dentist after waiting all this time.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at Total Dentistry Care in Kew Gardens. I went in today for a simple tooth extraction, but the woman assisting me kept pushing me to get a dental bridge instead—something I never requested. She claimed she needed to “calculate everything to give us a good discount,” but in reality, she was trying to pressure us into getting the bridge today. When we insisted we only wanted the extraction, she refused to proceed unless we agreed to pay for the bridge as well. We were made to feel trapped and manipulated, and she wouldn’t let us leave until we physically got up to walk out. As a result, I still haven’t had the tooth extracted. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable—no one should be denied care because they don’t want to be upsold. I absolutely do not recommend this office. DO NOT COME HERE. They will pressure you to do something you absolutely have no money for when you simply come to do something in an emergency situation and not want anything to do with you after you refuse the service they want for you. I don't care to lie there are multiple reviews that state the same thing once you keep looking at the reviews. This place left me to suffer with a broken tooth because I didn't want to pay or take out a loan for bridges.

Negative experience: Tried to get me to open credit card. They have finance person walking around trying to get you to take out loans. Lied about me having to get more work to try and gain more money. I saved $3500 dollars by switching my insurance and going to a dentist that actually did the necessary work and used my insurance. Wouldn’t recommend. I’m sure all the 5 star reviews are fake. If you need a crown they will try and get you to pay for the most expensive crown possible instead of using one insurance pays for. The only reason I came here is because the insurance I had at the time has TERRIBLE dentists and this was the only one that seemed halfway decent and picked up the phone.

Negative experience: I rarely leave reviews, but oh my goodness I do not recommend anyone coming here unless you absolutely have to for fillings or something minor or they’ll come by with a clipboard with forms to see if you’re eligible for loans/payment plans. I’ve been here a couple times for cleanings and fillings; all which went relatively well as the dentist does know what she’s doing. However, I recently had to schedule an emergency appointment for a filling that came loose and rendered me unable to eat without INTENSE pain along with a wisdom tooth that started emerging at the same time and made my gums swell. They took x-rays and the dentist told me to come back in a week because “it doesn’t look that bad,” despite me saying I cannot eat and have not eaten real food in days. They rescheduled me, but lo and behold I need a $1000 crown on my front tooth and once again the clipboard comes out. I scheduled an appt with another dentist in the area immediately who had my cavity taken care of, prescribed painkillers, and gave a referral to another surgeon for the wisdom tooth because it was, in fact, that bad.

Negative experience: I have to edit my initial review years later because I’ve come to find if you come to this place it is a facade. Go elsewhere unless you want to be mounted in dental bills. Dr. Benlevi had a crown created for me at my own expense that was too big too fit my root canal and thus the root canal failed within a year.
