Fantastic experience: I was very nervous leading up to my wisdom teeth removal surgery. Surgery is never fun but I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and the worst pain I had was a slight headache about a 1 out of 10 pain. I don’t have any other wisdom teeth to be removed but if I did I’d go back to Dr Lee. This was the best experience I could’ve had. Staff at the office is great as well.

I was surprised to have no pain once the numbness was gone. They made the best of the worst case scenario for me! I 100% recommend ❤️

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lee and his crew are awesome! I had a bad bicycle accident and they fit me in when no one else would. I was super impressed by their professionalism and their technology.

Negative experience: The doctor was great but my experience was not great, first off the ladies at the front are cold and sterile. I was extremely nervous and that was amplified when the staff decided to discuss payment while I was in the process of getting prepped. It is poor patient service to discuss money whilein the chair, all this should have been taken care of before hand because it gives the impression that it's all about money.

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom tooth taken out on Thursday and was left with little to no pain! I’ve had my other wisdom teeth taken out by other dentists and usually I’d have some pain and discomfort for a few days but with these dr I barely had any. Although the shots to numb me was more painful than I remembered, the dr was quick yet effective when getting the tooth out and I was out in about 30 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Excellent oral surgeon, lots of empathy and great work on my implant. Professional staff. Update: From reception to the techs to the nurses to my amazing oral surgeon Dr. Lee, I am so thankful. Everyone was so kind and so gifted at what they do. After my front tooth crown came out, breaking my tooth with it, I had to get an implant. After a two-year process, my new implant arrived 60% the size of my other front tooth and looked horrible. I declined the crown and came back to Dr. Lee, who determined that due to the way my gums had healed, I would need them trimmed (a gingivectomy). He did this for me and it was a quick procedure. It looks beautiful. I will post photos once healed after my permanent crown arrives!

Positive experience: This was just a consultation but I left very anxious about the up coming surgery. The surgeon explained all these things that could go wrong I understand they have to but he led with that. No it's gonna be fine by the way sometimes this could go wrong. No i was led with this that and sometimes else can go wrong now it probably won't but i have to tell you. Now i am very ,very nervous .

Fantastic experience: Had what ever was left of a broken tooth extracted. The procedure was quick and painless. Went straight back to my Lifelong learning classes. After anesthesia wore of there was no pain or swelling. Went back to normal eating in two days.

Fantastic experience: There are really no words to express how caring and sweet the vibe is there!! The atmosphere is classy, meticulous and warm! The personnel are knowledgeable, amicable, and compassionate. They are organized, clean, and hospitable!! Fair and upfront costs- interacting seamlessly with my insurance co. And preferred pharmacy! Yes!! This is a dentist’s office with 5-star accommodations! Ms. Shonda was more attentive than my mom! She laughed at all my nervous jokes and detected I was chilly and tucked me in with a blanket! I’m 60 and haven’t been tucked in for years! Now, Dr. Hill. . . . He has the most calming, intelligent, and energetic eyes. And communicates every procedure, listens to every concern, and answered all my somewhat inane questions! I really can’t express what the power of a top tier medical facility has on your self worth and ability to trust and heal in peace. Dr. Hill called me personally in the evening to ask about my condition and brought a tear to my eye! What a consummate professional and elegant extraction experience!! Fantastic experience: I was very nervous to have oral surgery and to be awake. Dr. Hill and his staff were awesome in answering all my questions and assured me everything would go great and it did. I highly recommend Dr. Hill and his staff.

Negative experience: Ask to be notified of charges. I went today for a Consultation. All I wanted to know was how much my insurance covered for Wisdom teeth extraction. I had to fill put 4 pages of forms. Again, I told them I just needed to know how much my insurance would cover. The Nurse took me back and told me my Xrays were not clear and they needed to a "scan". They took me back and did the scan. Dr. came in told me about extraction, I told him I just came in to know how much. They told me the Insurance rep would tell me. I get taken to another room. Rep comes in shows me how much and says I owe 170.00 today for the x-ray. I told her no one told me that I had to pay. I just wanted to know how much my insurance covered. She said someone should of told you that you had to pay. I said no one did. She said someone should have. All I wanted was to know how much my insurance would pay. Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Dr Hill was very attentive and patient with my child’s wisdom teeth removal. He performed a PRF procedure which helped to expedite his healing and reduce the risk of dry socket. My child could not have normal sedation and Dr Hill and his team took the time to walk my child through everything that would happen and went a bit slower to ensure my child was as comfortable as possible.

Fantastic experience: I unfortunately have a history of bad experiences, including an immunity to numbing, which led to me being an extremely anxious patient. I came here after another dentist office had told me to focus on staining rather than the active infection in my tooth. Dr Hill fully validated my concern with the previous dentist and took me and my concerns with numbing seriously. He offered me a service I hadn't once been offered before that was less expensive than being fully under and made the extraction extremely easy and smooth. He was very kind and informative, no jump scares or surprises, and check ins to see how I was doing. He calls the day after as well to make sure you're doing okay and give you the opportunity to ask any questions, something I don't usually see from dentists and I appreciate that. Of course, they are a busy office given they clearly have a good reputation so expect there will be waiting time at your appointment, but it was no more than 2.5 hours for me total there. If you need to speak with them for any sort of payment plans, make sure to do so BEFORE your procedure. Unfortunately this is just simply the industry, but they do have you pay mid appointment before procedure.

Fantastic experience: Truly an amazing experience. My 11 year old needed an extraction and the entire staff was so kind & truly cared about easing his anxiety. The follow up call the next day by the surgeon was unexpected and amazing. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency to have a tooth extracted. I called all over and couldn't find an oral surgeon to take me right away. When I called Oyster Point OMS they had an immediate appointment for me two days later. I was thrilled knowing that they could help me. When I arrived at their office, I was checked in right away and seen within 5 minutes. The staff was so nice. As I sat and waited for Dr. Hill to come in, I was greeted by a few members of the staff going over my medical history and concerns. They were so sweet and attentive to my needs. Once Dr. Hill came in to introduce himself, he was very concerned and attentive to my issue with my tooth. He explained everything that he was going to do and gave me options for the future to help along the way. He performed my tooth extraction with NO pain and with great ease. I was so very happy with him and the staff. I received great care and I highly recommend him and his staff in all your special dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hill and his staff were wonderful. They kept me fully informed of everything throughout the prep stage. I was put to sleep for the extraction of a tooth that had decayed further under a crown...crown had been put in place for 21 years. The procedure went very well and I had the platelet therapy to expedite healing and prevent a dry socket. Dr. Hill called me at 4:00 PM after the extraction...he asked several questions and everything was progressing as it should. I'm 4 days out from the extraction and everything is healing very well. I only experienced some minor discomfort for the first few days and but none now. The gum area is still a little tender but not keeping me from eating what I want. Thank You to Dr. Hill and his staff for everything...fantastic job!!!

Fantastic experience: Seamless experience, I got in by 9am out before 11am! I experienced no pain during the procedure! Everyone was great from Dr. Hill, the nurses, the medical assistant, to the front desk staff. All questions were answered appropriately and I had no issues with getting a work excuse which was big for me! Thank you all for taking such great care of me and making me feel comfortable. Fantastic experience: I recently had a tooth extraction and the whole process was surprisingly easy and painless! Dr. Hill and his team were so wonderful and caring, and so was the front office staff. I really appreciated that the doctor called a few hours after my procedure to make sure everything was okay. I'm a pretty anxious patient, but everyone was so kind and really put me at ease. You can tell that the staff here really cares about the patients, and I highly recommend this practice. Negative experience: I called and scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago requesting to see Dr. Lee. when I showed up for my appointment Tuesday morning I was taken back and after seated for my procedure I was informed they had booked me with another Dr. that I have never heard of. this Dr. had just graduated four months prior. When I said I was not comfortable being seen by another Dr. and to see when I could be rescheduled to see the doctor I originally requested. I was told I'd have to wait five months. This is certainly something they knew and should have told me when I called and scheduled. I was asked if I would at least talk to the office manager before leaving. I agreed and after waiting a few minutes the lady came back and told me the office manager was busy and couldn't see me. I understand every new Doctor must start somewhere but booking patients under one doctor with the intent to have another see them is misleading a bad business practice. Needless to say I will not be returning. I feel sorry for all the other patients they are doing this too. Doctor Lee comes with many years of positive referrals and it's sad that the ones managing this practice are hurting his reputation.

Fantastic experience: Can't say that I enjoyed getting 4 wisdom teeth removed at age 68, but I am absolutely pleased with the kind and professional service provided by all at Oyster Point OMS. From the front office personnel, to the nursing and surgical staff, and the doctors, I always felt that I was being given the best treat and that my "fears" were compassionate addressed. I would and will strongly recommend these folks.

Negative experience: I was not sure if I should even write a review, since I rather give positive feedback than negative. But based on previous reviews my experience doesn't appear to be a one time occasion. My general dentist referred me for the extraction of one of my wisdom teeth. I had to wait about a month and a half for the initial appointment to talk about what needs to get done. I waited for about an hour in the room after I was seated, which was okay with me, sorry I have to pull that card, but after working in the oral surgical field for a few years I know how busy it can get. Well, I scheduled my appointment in May and the soonest available appointment was in October which was quite a long wait but I thought they might just have a lot of patient's for one doctor. Mind you, I am under chronic pain due to my gums being inflamed because my wisdom tooth is only partially "out" and I keep biting on it while I am sleeping. October rolls around and the week before my scheduled surgery they asked me if I wanted an appointment for this week (the prior week), which was a two day notice and due to my husband being in the military he cannot get off so short notice and unfortunately one of our three kid's being special needs I cannot just leave them with any baby sitter. I had to decline the offer thinking I have my scheduled surgery in a week anyways, looking back I get the impressionthey probably already knew what was going to happen but didn't want to tell me. The next week rolls around, less than 24 hrs before my surgery I get a call, that they double booked the doctor and he has a meeting, so they can't perform the scheduled surgery the following day but "graciously" offered me a day later. I told them that my husband took leave for that day a while ago and we do not have care for our kids on the other day to which I assume the office management replied "well, then bring them to the office or something but there is no way we can perform the surgery tomorrow". I told them I will call back, I need to coordinate with my husband. After I talked to my husband and him being the one that has the difficulties with his work schedule, he called them back trying to figure this out. They told him the same thing, the Doctor has a meeting and they coming our way was by offering surgery for a day later. My husband asked if a meeting is more important than the well being of the patient and apparently it is. I don't know what kind of meeting but I guess it must be very important to throw patients waiting for months over months of the schedule. My husband did ask to speak to the doctor which he was told he wouldn't talk to him, I get that too, that's why there is the office personnel. I do not blame the doctor in any way, I did not have a negative experience with him but this was handled poorly and unprofessional from the side of office management/scheduling. In my opinion, a apology for the inconvenience would be a better start to throw someone off the schedule. If I would've canceled less than 24 hours prior I would have been charged $$. But it is their business so it's their rules. I wouldn't return, but I'm assuming they/office management could care less because they're neither in pain nor is it their time wasted, I am the one running around with the tooth, lol. If I would have known I could have just looked for a different office instead of wasting time and having good faith.

When I Went to my consultation he made me feel so comfortable. His staff explained everything to me and I was seen the very next day and was put under.. Just awesome sauce !!!!! Fantastic experience: Not being dramatic but this place was hands down the best dental experience I’ve had in my life. Everyone from the tech who helped me to the financial woman to the doctors they were all very kind and I didn’t feel like I was being judged like I have before at other offices. They were also super quick to work me in for a sedation for a procedure when every other office I called from Williamsburg to Richmond said it could take weeks to months to have my procedure done

Negative experience: They dont do their consultations until 2:00 which makes it hard for people who have to be to work at that time....the dental bills are expensives so how am i not going to go to work so I can pay for this.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth taken out here a few days ago. Staff were very kind and provided detailed instructions on recovery. They prescribed medications tk deal with pain, swelling, and infection. They answered all questions. They gave me time to come out of anesthesia before I was escorted to my vehicle and wife. They also gave me a nice goodie bag of items, including an icepack and a cute t-shirt! Getting your wisdom teeth out sucks, but if you need it done go here!

Negative experience: If you are a new patient, you will be asked to complete a patient information form. I went to my appointment thinking I was going to have an extraction done upon referral of my family dentist. The referral and x-rays were sent ahead of time. I was told at the time of my visit that I would have to reschedule because I was taking blood thinners and would need to stop them two days prior to the procedure. I commented to them that I had given that information on the on-line patient information for which I had submitted two weeks prior to my visit, why didn't you tell me ahead of time to stop taking the blood thinner before my visit. I was told, very flippantly, "Oh, we don't even look at those until the patient is actually here for their visit". So, a wasted time, wasted trip. Thank you and good day. Shortly thereafter, I scheduled the extraction with another facility in the area. It was completed in one visit and.....at just over half the cost of what was quoted by Oyster Point folks.

Fantastic experience: Had number 14 surgically extracted on September 3,2024 Dr Hill did a fantastic job. Went in having tremendous pain exposed nerve, everywhere I called there were no availability until October. Oyster point found an opening got me in got that tooth out and it took some work but during and after surgery I felt no pain and didn't have to take any medication post op!!! This is the place to go. Thanks guy's I can now concentrate again.

Positive experience: I had a great experience with Dr Lee. I went in for a consultation about an unwanted fibroma in my mouth. I went in expecting to do the consultation only, but where it was a very quick procedure Dr Lee offered to do it the same day! The staff and everyone was very professional and efficient in their duties. 4 stars because sorting out the referral and making an appointment was a bit of a hassle between Dr Lee's office and my referring dentist.

Positive experience: Surprisingly, we sorted this out 2 years later. The experiences were legitimate in 2022 but after calling the office to inquire about the estimate and billing, the staff person I spoke to was able to answer questions. The process was automated which is why we received the collection letter. Unfortunately, our mail service is not great here and we had never gotten previous notices. That explains it! The experiences were okay. Pretty standard on all fronts with other dental professionals in the area. The one star is coming from the handling of their payment processes. I paid everything I was asked to pay up front. Even when I was told I was probably getting money back, I just paid the original amount. I received a statement with a balance. It appears to be an insurance issue to work out. No big deal. 2 weeks later I get a call saying it is going to COLLECTIONS if I don't pay now. I love how I waited 2 months for an anticipated refund but I get a statement and 2 weeks later I'm getting calls with the threat of collections. This is so unreasonable and frankly greedy. We pay all our bills. To be treated like that is just ugly.

As my treatment plan is being executed I have found Dr. Lee to be extremely skillful. Procedure day went extremely well. I received the best post-procedure instructions that I have received in any setting and caring follow-up calls. Negative experience: Suggestion for your invoices, please put somewhere on the invoice that your receptionists do not take change when collecting money for a bill. Until you make the revision please make sure that your receptionists are not rude when telling you they don't accept coins. Also please remind your receptionist that when they decide to "write off" the change on the bill, that I have in my hand and its exact too, they act like you're doing me a favor. Um excuse me but you're the one refusing my money. I left work early to make sure I was there before 5 to pay the bill and I arrived at 450pm and the lights were out and the door was locked. When the receptionist finally came to the door she asked me what she could help me with and I replied "Oh I'm sorry did you all close early today?" And her response was "no we close at 5" I then pulled out my phone and said "oh it's 4:50 am I too late?" She then responded "what can I do for you?" I replied "I just need to pay a bill" "Are you paying cash or card?" She asked and I said "cash" she then said "well we don't take coins". I reviewed the inAnd I got so frustrated with the rest of our interaction I didint realised until after i left that she never offered me a receipt. I don't think that was very good customer service. I felt so mistreated I had to write this review.

Fantastic experience: After CHKD’s oral surgeon canceled on us twice for wisdom tooth removal, we decided to find another option. Friends in the medical field highly recommended Dr. Lee, and what a blessing in disguise those CHKD cancellations turned out to be. Dr. Lee put our anxious son at ease at both the consult and day of surgery. His protocol post-surgery kept swelling and discomfort to an absolute minimum. We were pleasantly surprised by a same day call to check in on our son, who has said, “that’s not at all as bad as I thought this was going to be.” Recovery has gone smoothly. The office staff was pleasant and easy to work with; post-surgery instructions and care items were included and very clear on what to do. Insurance coverage and our portion of payment was established and clear well in advance. While you hope to never need an oral surgeon, our experience with Dr. Lee and his team was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I was not impressed with this staff, but more with the Oral Surgeon, N. Ray Lee, D.D.S. It only took 3 months before they would even do a consultation. The surgeon himself, was very unprofessional, in my opinion. No introduction, came in and sat on the trash can, blew it off looking at X-rays, they didn't take, " No big deal or problem, will just shoot you up with novacaine! Looked in my mouth using a tongue depress and not really checking the 3 areas of removal. One was completely broken off and impacted into the gum. My main concern was, he never once acknowledged the fact that I had knee replacement and would need to be on antibiotics. They set my appointment 4 months out (Feb.). Again, I will say, very unprofessional.

My appointment was 230, Dr finally came in at 340, of course I was not happy but I wasn't rude, but he spent maybe 5 minutes without much explainatio and charged $275, for something I am not even going to do because of all of the unexplained risks. Do not waste your money or time. Very displeased.
