Negative experience: It took 1 hour so I could wait and get inside to clean my teeth and I had to wait 30 mins so I could get my teeth done

Negative experience: They canceled 3 of my appointments nobody never knows why very unprofessional

Negative experience: Really disappointed and depressed thinking about Kool Smiles. My mom brought my brothers and I here as kids, they preyed on us as my mom was uneducated and saw affordable dentistry. After never having a cavity in my life, I suddenly had 8?! In total they filled 12 of my teeth. This was unnecessarily painful and detrimental to the health of my teeth… all at the expense of children?! so staff can go home with a couple more dollars. This is cruel, disgusting, and pathetic for those dentist that would benefit from over-treating naive kids. I would never take my children here and strongly recommend going to a better dentist or at least getting a second opinion at a consult. They have been sued and you have been warned. Please avoid at all costs!

Negative experience: Could not find this doctor office and the number was definitely register for another business. Very very fustrating considering I was on time and was fully aware I was in the right place. Please fix this.

Negative experience: I went in to get my teeth pulled the doctor played around in my mouth to the point my pain level went up. He never call my meds in and now im sitting at home with a gum ball under my chin. I will never come back to this place again. The nurse was wonderful but the doctor is the worst

Negative experience: I went in August and needed a tooth extraction and they said they would schedule the next week. I've called every week since and no body picks up. Its October and I'm in more pain than I was in August

Negative experience: Got 4 wisdom teeth pulled, they said laughing gas machine was down just used needles to numb me and I still felt it they had to stop and numb me some more, gave me a bag with gauze didnt even explain what to do to manage after the surgery, and only prescribed me tylenol ... Worst dentists ever wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Negative experience: I went there because I had to get 4 wisdom teeth pulled and one was effected really bad . I even bought a copy of the cat scan that I had gotten from another dentist. Worst experience ever ... The dentist numb my gum and it wouldn’t get numb but still pulled my tooth and I felt ever thing . And still have three wisdom teeth that are killing me and he couldn’t pull them because I was in so much pain from the tooth he pulled . O and they loss my copy of my cat scan .. so for me to go to other dentist I have to pay another 172$ to get a CAT scan done over again. Please don’t go there and get your teeth pulled . And they wouldn’t even got one star but you have to put something to post . Worst Dentist ever

Positive experience: The doctor only works 3 days a week. Due to my neice taking SOLs we had to reschedule her appointment. The Earliest availability was 7 weeks away. She has braces. At our last visit doctor said they were in last stages of alignment of jaw,her bite. Teeth are where they need to be. Now,to me this is a crucial time in her treatment. I feel that waiting almost 2 months to check that progress and make corrections is way too long when you consider her last appointment was over 6 weeks ago. Thats 3 months between appointments .that is unacceptable and in my opinion bordering on negligence. He needs to hire more doctors. When it was Kool Smiles we didnt have to wait 2 months if an unexpected event happened and we had to reschedule.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Spencer Dental for a year now. I have to say that Every visit I am treated with respect and quality care. You will never find a better dental office than at Spencer Dental. Thank you and all the people who work there. I will highly recommend Spencer Dental. Thank you again Spencer Dental!

Fantastic experience: OMG I love this office!! From front desk to Dental assistant to Doctor and hygiene. Steven was amazing! I definitely recommend this office to everyone especially those who have had a terrible concept or fear of the dentist.

Negative experience: Horrible place to go as a child or adult! My husband and kids came to cool smiles/ Spencer dental now. The service was horrible and the staff rude! Then we was waiting for almost 2 hr to get their teeth checked! And that's almost everytime we go there.... furthermore as they do the cleaning our fix the issue with the teeth they dont clean the place and they traumatized my husband and my kids with their procedure that they do! A horrible place all the way around!!!!!!!

Negative experience: One of the dental assistants kept trying to force me to get work done on my son's chipped baby tooth and I told her my husband & I weren't comfortable with putting him to sleep. She told me it would be quick and asked if I would be bringing him in, I said yes. She then told me to lie to my husband and just let them put him to sleep because my huabnd would never know. Lie? God forbid something had went wrong and I was dumb enough to lie to my husband.... what the hell would I tell him? That right there was my key to exit!! Very unprofessional.... I also dont like how open the office is, where you can see everyone else getting their teeth worked on and there wasnt enough room for me to sit near my child. I would never go back to any koolsmiles.

Fantastic experience: Charlotte, Stephanie and Stephen Hanson are absolutely wonderful!! Funny and very professional at the same time. My smile literally every time they come here. Everyone in the office are awesome honestly. And my family lives in Hampton (Buckroe) and we go all the way to Denbigh for services!

Fantastic experience: I had so many problems before my visit to this location today. I was previously seen at another location, but they couldn't fix my tooth pain issues caused by the fillings they had done. The chipped tooth they fixed that filling also fell off within weeks. My teeth were in so much pain. I haven't been able to eat in about five months due to the severe pain I had remaining from the work done at the other location. I have only been able to eat soft foods, which is really upsetting, unsatisfying, and inconvenient. I was also a bit upset because right after my visit to the other location I left a really good review. I didn't realize that the work they had done was flawed until later. I went back to the other location many times, for many months, until I just stopped going once I realized they were unable to help me. I heard that the Newport News location was better, so I made an appointment. I'm so glad I did! I saw Dr. Rastogi and Omeka. They were both amazing. Dr. Rastogi was absolute perfection. She definitely knows her stuff. She was able to make my mouth a lot less painful on one side my very first visit. She also had a very warm, welcoming, and genuine vibe which was good. They both did. The last thing anyone needs is to be met with bad attitudes when they're in pain. I am so thankful to them for that. I love a wonderful attitude. I'm so grateful for Dr. Rastogi. I have a follow-up appointment with her in about a month. I will let you know how that goes. Thank you so much! I would be in really bad shape without you. Keep up the amazing and extremely necessary work. UPDATE: I went back in today, which is exactly three days later because I was in extreme pain on the side that was supposed to be worked on next month. I really wanted to see the same doctor, but the pain wasn't gonna let me wait an entire month. Today I saw Dr. Gedela. She was also super amazing! She had a different vibe, but it was still really nice as well, and she knew her stuff. They are giving me a new outlook about Kool Smiles. She worked on the extremely painful side of my mouth, and although it's not completely pain free I can now eat again without being in unbearable pain. I am so thankful for the dentists I've seen at this location so far. They're beautiful in every way. Front desk is also super awesome. I love the staff I've seen at this location. There's another woman who I've seen there both times, but I didn't get her name. She wears all black and she goes out of her way to make sure visitors are comfortable. She deserves recognition as well. Thank you again. I will update you again when I go back. It feels so good to be able to eat again.

Negative experience: This place was horrible, my siblings and I were in the bad for almost 3 hours, for no reason. Me and my older sister had the same dentist, she did horrible, she made us both bleed, left the tool in our mouths, and was disrespectful and ranting about other people for no reason. And this five year old was playing with his toy and moving around in the chair, they yelled, "stop moving and give me that toy." And this other kid who had autism, he was so disrespected, they told him to go in the x-ray room, and made him stay there for one and a half hours. And one of the other dentist didn't change her gloves about to per them in my sisters mouth, but my sister said, "aren't you going to change your gloves?" she said, oh you're right, I completely forgot, like that's not a thing, if I could, I would give 0 stars never go to Kool Smiles.

Negative experience: I went there for general dentistry for a dental cleaning which is covered by my insurance. But apparently they did a bunch of xrays(other than the normal ones, like the panaromic) without checking with checking with my insurance, if it is covered or not, and now they sent me a bill saying that you owe the amount for all the xrays. I've been to other dentistry and no one ever did the panaromic xrays. Apparently they just did a bunch of xrays to make money out of it. So when I called them, they say its not their responsibility to check with the insurance and now I ended up paying a goo amount out of my pocket. They are in the fooling business and try to get as much money out of you possible. NEVER going there again.

Fantastic experience: We had an outstanding experience this AM. My wife and I weren't exactly sure how our 4yr. old would handle her procedure. The "A-Team" of Dr. Rastogi and Leandra exceeded our expectations, providing reassurance and quality care. If we could give 5.5 's we would!

Fantastic experience: What can I say about Kool Smiles they are the most helpful fun loving staff that I have ever done business with. The face of Kool Smiles definitely starts with the front desk and Heather is the perfect person to be working up at the front. She is always so helpful and smiling everytime we visit. I want to specially thank Dr. Rastogi and Leandra for all that they did when my daughter came in for her filling. They made her fell very comfortable with the procedure they did a technique that she did not even know that she was getting the needle for the numbing medicine. Which was amazing. Being a former worker of this office I truly can say first hand that these ladies are always warm hearted and willing to provide the BEST service to all there patient.

Negative experience: The receptionist and staff are very unprofessional. I came in about 10mins before my appointment. One of the receptionist told me that she needed my insurance card again because my information went of the screen. Then I continued to wait LITERALLY AN HOUR! After already waiting an hour they call me to the consult room and tell they we only have 10mins so all they can do is X-rays?!? I scheduled and arrived early and they wasted my time. They then asked if I wanted to reschedule and that it took 45mins to verify my insurance but yet that wasnt what the receptionist said to me NOR did she tell me that if it we’re the case. This is a very UNPROFESSIONAL place. They’re not a placed Id recommend EVER! Just horrible.

Fantastic experience: Steven Hanson was awesome!! He found out my 4 year old wanted to be a dentist when she grows up but didn’t want to get her own teeth brushed and he was very patient. He showed her all the dentist tools and how to use them. She lit up with a huge smile and began to open up. She went from crying and frowning to my usual bubbly happy girl. This is our first encounter with Steven and I hope we get him again. He was hands down the best dental assistant we have had and we have been coming here since 2013 when my oldest daughter was 4 and she is almost 10 now

Negative experience: Do not recommend this place at all, they are ALWAYS behind schedule by alot. Everytime I've come to bring my daughter in for an appointment we wait for at least an hour, usually longer before being seen. I understand people call out of work so they can be short staffed or if some patients need some more time but really an hour behind every time I bring my child in? What's the point of having an appointment if I'm waiting as long as a walk in clinic? Besides the ridiculous long wait times with appointments I have no other complaints. When we are eventually brought back, the staff I've dealt with were great with my daughter.

Negative experience: The rude and a complete waste of your time they call you non-stop and when you do show up for your appointment they make you wait for the longest and when your called finally your only seen for like 5 mins before they give you some STUPID bull to make you have to come back I lost my job due to my last appointment with them

Negative experience: I will never, ever, EVER bring my son back here again. They told my husband he needed to pin our son down to take an xray and only escalated his behavior when I calmed him down. Then they suggested he needed to be put under general anesthesia. Are you serious? He's 4, and that went from 0-100 really fast. There are other options before general anesthesia. Also, nothing was explained to us about anything. My son is traumatized. I will be finding him a new dentist and telling my friends to avoid this place like the plague.

Negative experience: Most horrific dental experience of my life!!! Pulled 3 jaw teeth without being fully numbed and didnt clean out the sockets. Now I have to find a new dentist to reopen my gums and clean out the broken roots . I am still in pain from the exposed roots when I try to eat. I will NEVER set foot in there again and wont tell anyone to ever go to that place.

Negative experience: Been waiting almost an hour for my son to be seen showed up 15 min early like they said and still I have been sitting here for almost an hour and the last 3 people that got called came in after me. This Is ridiculous. Please some one tell me why the heck I have been sitting here for 5 min short of an hour!!!!

Fantastic experience: My experience with Kool-smiles was GREAT. Steven did a EXCELLENT job on my teeth. He answerd all questions, and the staff was very friendly first thing in the morning. I will definitely recommend them for not only children needs, but for adults as well.

Negative experience: I was told my insurance covered a cleaning when I came in for an initial appointment for sensitivity of a tooth. Then a month later, once making the appt for a cleaning and receiving a price, after arriving they said they don't accept my insurance and sent me away. They quoted $300 for cleaning and x-rays. I sat in the parking lot and dentaquest assured me koolsmiles accepted my insurance. The second time speaking with the receptionist, she said it would cost almost $300 for cleaning and x-rays. It cost approx $180 from ANY OTHER DENTIST out of pocket. Without insurance, they will charge about $300 for the same thing. They will lie to get you in, then overcharge/lie to get you to pay. BEWARE!

Fantastic experience: This office is awesome! I had a slight scheduling issue with the Hampton office but the Newport news office fixed it! I was scheduled for fill ins at the Hampton office but found out I couldn't get my fill ins without a cleaning so I called the Newport news office and the manager Amanda fit me in just 1 hour later. The staff there is amazing! I had my newborn son with me and they took over so I could get my work done! Steve has a wonderful personality he has so much to talk about! I love that because it kept me distracted from what he was doing! Stephanie was nice and pleasant. Diamond was nice explained every thing that was going on. Very professional! Dr. Darensburg was nice and pleasant as well. Very quick with the anesthesia. What stood out the most is how patient they were and they took the time out to help with my son. They literally took turns until he fell asleep. Very nice staff there! I will be back! Thanks you guys!

Negative experience: The dental assistants and Dentist were nice; however, the insurance process and wait time was insane. We are dual insured and I brought them both insurances (same company just different plans). One was considered in network and they were trying to charge me out of network costs for the other. Their insurance is all central billing and the lady at the local office did not know what she was doing and was acting frantic. She had taken my information 3 times and still managed to screw it up. Then she told me I had to call my insurance company and find out why they were being considered out of network for one of the plans. So I did and come to find out when the insurance company called the dental office there is no record of my insurance. Plus no one ever answers the phone over there. I am just going to change to another Dentist. So not worth the hassel.

I called yesterday, was scheduled to come in 8am thus morning , and root canal was successfully completed in a short time by a very skillful endodontist, Dr. Abhishek Kirpal. From the very friendly front office staff to the back office staff to the assistant who helped Dr. Kirpal with the root canal, there was not a second of feeling nervous or like I wasn't at the right office. This practice is amazing. What we thought would be a very scary thing to have done was turned into a very calm experience. Dr. Kirpal and his assistant were excellent at explaining everything and making my son very comfortable. From the first step into this office to the last step out, this was a great experience. I highly recommend this practice but especially Dr. Kirpal for a root canal, God forbid you ever need one. But, if you do, he's the guy. I can't say thank you all enough for how well you took care of us today. We sincerely thank you!!!! Tina and Isaiah Lester

Negative experience: I brought my son in for his appointment, was told they had scheduled it wrong because they scheduled him for just a cleaning when he needed more and I would need to reschedule that they would not see him that day. The new appointment is almost a month away. Came back a few days later for my daughters appointment, they scheduled it right in front of me for 9:45am well I sign in and the same lady tries and tell me that her appointment was changed to 8:45am and I missed it but that if I waited she would squeeze me in within the next hour or so. This location has sloppy business practices and it is bad enough that they already over book for appointment slots, now they are not even booking correctly and making kids miss school and parents miss work for no reason other than their sheer incompetence.

Negative experience: If anybody goes to Kool Smiles don’t go there anymore the office smells like mold and fish and they give you piss poor service when you get to the back.... i had two healthy wisdom teeth that weren’t bothering me removed instead of the two that were hurting me the most and to top it off the left not 1 but 2 pieces of my tooth they removed in my mouth i was already in pain but then the pain doubled because the pieces were still there. I will never go there again save your time and energy and go to a different dentist office. They don’t even deserve 1 star

Fantastic experience: Tyler and dr rastogi was amazing! My daughter who is uasually scared was calm and she made her feel more comfortable!
