Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. After I paid out-of-pocket for a treatment, my insurance company confirmed they had fully covered the cost and already paid the clinic. I made multiple refund requests—by phone, in writing, and even in person—but the clinic has completely ignored all of them. It feels like they are intentionally avoiding any responsibility. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which received no response from the clinic. I have since submitted a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General’s office, but there has still been no resolution. I’m sharing this review so others are aware of how the clinic handles patients after receiving payment.

Negative experience: It's impossible to get an appointment here. I've been seen once in the almost two years that I should have been a patient here, and the other two times they've canceled on me, and couldn't reschedule me within a respectable time frame at all. I'd try somewhere else first and save the headache and possibly your teeth from falling out.

Negative experience: I don’t want to go back this office Lady who works there didn’t call my name and motioned her hand for us to come when it was my turn. Staff seemed rude and unprofessional.

Negative experience: I traveled all the way from the Richmond area to make it to my appointment at 3:00 PM, leaving work early to be there. When I arrived, I was told there was no hygienist available. I had confirmed my appointment over the weekend when I received the reminder on Saturday. No one called or extended the courtesy of letting me know about the issue ahead of time. This is completely unacceptable — a total waste of my time and money.

Negative experience: Never in my life have I ever been to more disorganized, unprofessional, and rudest dentist office until I came here. The front desk people are rude as ever. You try to be polite thinking they’re having a bad day or something, but no they’re always having a bad day. You can’t get ahold of anyone in the office. The phone keeps ringing and ringing until the answering service answers and they’re even no help only able to send messages to the office who never calls you back. The doctor is so slow and always complaining about everything. She even mentioned to another employee how she wished people would stop coming in so she can finally leave THEN SHE CANCELLED two peoples appointments because she’s tired! I thought i must of misunderstood when I heard that but no, they actually called and canceled their appointments! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, i’m never coming back. They must be giving their clients some incentives or something for giving all these other good reviews, because all of these other 1 star reviews have similar or same patterns. Just shut the office down at this point.

Negative experience: Dr. Price is great. His staff is not. They billed my insurance company twice for the same service. My insurance paid for the first bill and denied the second bill indicating that it was for the same service on the same day. The Dental Office then billed me for the denied duplicate bill. On top of that, they took 3 years to remove another one of their patients, who I am not responsible for, off of my account. They will not return my phone calls. They will not respond to the BBB. They will not respond to their corporate service center. At this point, it looks like I am going to have to take this business to court.

Negative experience: If I could’ve gave this review 0 starts I would’ve the girls who work the front are so unprofessional sorry excuse for a receptionist they wouldn’t understand the meaning of what it is to be professional if you put it in there face I immediately change my dentist if it was up to me I’ll fire the whole section 8 crew expeditiously put them through some training courses or something they need it bad !!!!!!!!

Negative experience: I’m new to the area and made an appointment based on good reviews; I was having some pain in one of my back teeth. Dr. Michael looked in my mouth for 30 seconds. She administered a cold test and hit my tooth with her metal instrument, after which my tooth was even more sensitive. She told me I needed a root canal and referred me to an endodontist. I was able to see an endodontist two weeks later and he informed me I do not need a root canal and that I might actually have a tiny cavity. I called the office to make an appointment for a cleaning and overall cavity check, and asked if the cavity could be taken care of at the same time. The receptionist told me no, that I would need to be reevaluated. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment for the cleaning and cavity check, with the prospect of making an additional appointment afterwards to have the cavity taken care of. Two weeks later when I arrived for my appointment, I was confused as to why the ladies at the front desk were surprised I showed up to my appointment. I told them I never received a confirmation email, they told me they called, I told them I did not receive a call either. Turns out they had ALL my information incorrect: phone number, email, address, etc. On top of all that, the lady scheduled me for another reevaluation and not a cleaning & cavity check. I told them I have had this appointment scheduled for two weeks and that my husband took off work to watch our three little kids for this appointment. They told me they could get me in the next day. I declined. They wasted so much of my time, I wasn’t about to let them waste anymore (Feb12-March10). I asked for my dental records to be emailed, they said they would send them that day. I had to call the next day because they didn’t send them, and when they finally did, they sent me the wrong dental records! I couldn’t believe it, I had to call back and then they sent me the correct records. I went to a different dentist. He identified that I had two cracked fillings and a tiny cavity in one of the cracks. He fixed both of my fillings right then and there on the first appointment!! He also informed me that the cracked fillings were easy to identify, so I’m not sure why Dr. Michael sent me to a endodontist. If you have a dental emergency or any kind of dental pain, I don’t recommend this office. Don’t expect to get your teeth fixed right away.

Fantastic experience: I love the personal attention given by all of the staff! I feel safe and well taken care of!! BUT… I am a bit concerned that after all the years that I saw Dr. Price, I am hesitant that I am being referred to an endodontist….we’ll see how things go…

Negative experience: Very unprofessional.. i reached out to this dental office for hours and nobody picked up the phone nor did they called me back. I started calling at 8am today now its 11:08am.. its no way the phone should be going to voicemail for 3 hours straight..

Faith, my hygienist, was absolutely wonderful—she kept great conversation going while staying super professional and gentle throughout my cleaning. Nicole is truly an angel. You can tell she’s passionate about what she does and genuinely cares about making patients feel secure, heard, and comfortable. It’s rare to find a dental office where the whole team goes above and beyond like this. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: This office has gone downhill dramatically. it’s like they don’t even care about their patients or reputation anymore. On top of this, they be billing wrong stuff to the insurance company’s and be trying to play it off like they did the work, but never did it and when you ask them about it they act like a deer in headlights trying to avoid the question and try gaslighting you. They really just be hiring anyone there. I will be looking for a new dentist office.

Negative experience: I have mild anxiety and because of that, I always kindly ask the person working on my teeth to just let me know what they are going to do before they do it so I am aware. Everyone was very sweet and gentle and told me the steps except the actual dentist Dr. Micahel who poked fun of me for having anxiety in the first place. On my second visit during the process of getting a crown on, Dr. Michael was just inches away from me and she started whispering very rude things about how I am anxious and how I am “always like” this (when all I had done was ask for the steps). She preceded to talk bad about me to the point where the other doctor next to her told her to quiet down so I would not hear her. It was extremely unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable. She was very rough when putting my crown on after that and I have never had a doctor talk bad about me while they are standing right next to me.

Negative experience: This office has terrible customer service. They create, cancel, and reschedule appointments based on their own convenience, with no regard for their patients. My mother had an appointment three weeks ago that they decided to cancel the day before because the hygienist no longer wants to take appointments after 3 PM. Keep in mind, she had confirmed this appointment in person just a week prior. When I questioned them about it, they simply said, “policies change and that’s the hygienist’s preference now,” then laughed about it. The most frustrating part is that they never call back or return messages. I’ve left multiple messages with the staff, and call center to speak with someone in charge, but no one has followed up. The only time they did call was two day’s ago to ask if she could come in for an appointment in 30 minutes. Yet, they have no problem calling several times when they want to reschedule your appointment or ask you to come in immediately. Their lack of professionalism and communication is completely unacceptable.

I had the pleasure of meeting one of her assistance, LaKiah Stokely, who do many task there in the office, just to make sure they have everything they need to make the patient's visit good well. Fantastic experience: I usually don’t do reviews but because of the services I received I had to make time. I felt welcome the moment I walked in. The front desk and staffs at the back were amazing. I didn’t have to wait long to be seen and it felt like they were waiting for me. Everyone was very welcoming, efficient and professional. The dental assistants Joselyn and Kiah were great. Dr. Michael was awesome . She introduced herself and made me felt welcome and safe the moment she saw me. I was ready to open my mouth and go to sleep trusting that she will take care of me because of how welcoming she made me felt. Dr. Michael was effortlessly friendly, efficient and professional . You can tell she has plenty years of experience by the way she treated and interacted with me. They did my exam, cleaning and found out that I had about 12 cavities that needed done. Dr. Michael scheduled was pretty full but she took care of all my cavities in 2 appointments. I was very happy to have chosen and trusted dental care at Oyster point for my treatments. Thank you Dr. Phylicia Michael and staffs for your services. God bless you!!! If I could give you 10 stars I would!!! You guys are amazing .

Negative experience: My wife scheduled a dental cleaning about a month ago, had to reschedule on account of her flu, only to arrive at this location and wait nearly an hour before being seen at the scheduled time. That's whatever; it happens and sometimes it can't be helped. Except, when she was finally called up she waited an additional half an hour to get x-rays done. Then, when Dr. Phylicia Michael identified a cavity, she told my wife that she doesn't want to deal with it because she wants to go home. (By the way, the appointment was scheduled for 1pm and this location closes at 4pm.) It's not my wife's fault Dr. Michael decided to be a dentist and took an oath to give people medical treatment. I guarantee nowhere in this oath is any stipulation that a doctor can refuse care to people because they'd rather not be at the job that *they* chose to do, and that *they* have an additional responsibility in doing because that's the point of being a healthcare professional in the first place. It's also not my wife's fault the staff is bad at their job and can't help people in a timely manner, or take any notes to remind themselves that my wife asked for a cleaning (which she wasn't even able to get). After all that, they have the audacity to ask my wife to come in the next day instead of helping her while she was already there. My wife took off work to get this appointment, and she can't just leave in the middle of a shift because she works on a shipyard which she can only get in and out of through a bus thats available only at the beginning and end of the day. As well, my wife needs time to notify her supervision that she will have an appointment. A day is not enough time. It would have been much more convenient for everyone if the dentist could actually do her job right then and there, but I guess she had some very urgent business to attend to at her home. I hope she had all the time she needed to do whatever it was she couldn't help my wife (with literally anything) for.

Negative experience: I'm really not sure how this place has close to a 5 star rating. I had a really atrocious experience here. I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning. I showed up 10 minutes early just to sit in the waiting room for an hour. I finally get admitted and wait another half hour to get x-rays taken. While I'm getting that done, I get told that new patients don't get their teeth cleaned on their first appointment, and I have to come back 4-5 months later to get that done... what!?!??! They found a small cavity and recommended I get that done, and the doctor says, "I hope you don't get that done today so I can go home." I don't recommend this place at all.

Negative experience: Me and my daughter were new patients to this facility. We have been with Quartepath Dental for the last 5-6 years and changed ONLY because of our change in location. My experience was great with Faith the RDH!!!! but my 16y/o daughter experience with another RDH( I believe she was Filipino) she was rude and very impatient, my daughter explained “she was ruff”. I am not sure WHY my daughter experience was widely different than mine. M.M-B
