Fantastic experience: Amazing dentist and staff! Dr.Rob, and the hygienist Morgan, and rosy did great job with my kids! Everyone was so friendly and patient with my children. They made the visit fun, comfortable, and stress-free. The office is clean, welcoming, and very professional. We are so grateful for the excellent care and highly recommend this dental practice to other families!

Fantastic experience: We brought our 20 month old here for his first dentist appointment this week and had the best experience. The office is bright and welcoming, which helped set us up for success. The aquarium and multiple toys in the lobby made our son instantly happy and comfortable. From there, every staff we interacted with was excellent. We interacted most with Carolyn and Dr. Rob and I can't speak more highly about the care we received. They were incredibly kind and provided us with great information. I'm so grateful that we had such a wonderful first experience and look forward to continuing to bring our son here for his care!

Fantastic experience: We started off at another dentist with my toddler but I wanted to try this one based on reviews. I'm glad I did. My daughter loved the toys, books, and fish. I loved the staff and the speed. Everyone was SO nice and knowledgeable! This feels like a classic kids dentist office that established my comfort with dentists as a kid, and I'm glad I seem to have found the same for my child!

Fantastic experience: This is not our primary dentist, but my daughter had a dental emergency and this was the only office open. Everyone was preparing for the ice storms and I was stressed out that she wouldn't get in anywhere. They worked out a time to get my 2 year daughter examined and get x rays and were fantastic working with her. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for 20 years and just had my last appointment before moving on from pediatrics, they have been excellent since day one. Zero cavities and friendly staff are about all you can hope for and they certainly delivered on both counts. Fantastic experience: My son came initially for an emergency exam. Today, we returned for a routine cleaning. They are genuinely nice people up there. My kiddo hated the dentist before. I warned them before our first visit that he is not quite cooperative, expecting him to have a hard time as he had with his previous dentist.To my surprise, he does extremely well there. Clearly, having the right provider makes all the difference. The dental hygienists, front desk staff, and dentist are all very personable and friendly. They address you/treat you like they know you. Everyone seems to be happy to be there. I honestly wish they could be my dentist office, haha I couldn’t be happier with DPDO.

He is always calm and collected despite challenging patients like my daughter. He also takes the time to help both parents and kids understand the treatment plan and explain what / why something needs to be done. We’ve also worked with Dr Jamie a little bit too and she’s incredible too. I highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: My child has been fearful of the dentist, so finding a practice where hygienists and dentists were kid-friendly and compassionate was critical. I was not comfortable with other dental practices that resorted to restraining my child to apply fluoride. Dr. Jamie and Morgan have been patient and flexible during each visit to gradually build trust and confidence, even if it meant doing the exam in a different order or at a slower pace. Thank you for prioritizing long term comfort with dental care instead of continuing the cycle of shame-based compliance. Your empathy and care make a difference!

Fantastic experience: Another outstanding experience today with Dr. Jamie and her team. My daughter required a tooth extraction (x2!). Dr. Jamie is incredibly talented, attentive, and technically gifted. She took the time to explain everything clearly and in age-appropriate terms, which made a potentially stressful procedure feel easy and comfortable. Her calm, professional approach and the supportive team around her made all the difference. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great office formulated just for kids! My son hates the dentist but the staff made it tolerable for him they changed his position when he didn't want to sit in the dentist chair and we did the exam in my lap! Super-friendly

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience for our baby’s first dental visit at Durham Pediatric Dentistry. We were called in exactly on time and didn’t have any wait times. The staff are courteous knowledgeable and masked. The establishment followed covid protocols and took care with our baby. We loved the first visit button they made for us with baby’s face on it! It’s going to be a wonderful memento for the baby years!

Fantastic experience: We had the best experience with Dr Rob today. After having different experiences at two other dentist offices it felt like we finally found a pediatric dentist that was communicative, wonderful with our daughter, and knowledgeable. I cannot say enough good about this practice and wish I could give more than 5 stars! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Durham Pediatric Dentistry enough! We brought in our 2- and 3-year-old daughters for their very first dental visit, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our 3-year-old is autistic, so we weren’t sure how things would go, but from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with smiles and kindness that immediately put us at ease. The office is immaculate, colorful, and truly designed with kids in mind. The large fish tank in the waiting area kept our toddlers fascinated, and Dr. Rob even came out personally to introduce himself before the appointment—such a thoughtful first impression. Inside, the exam room was just as child-friendly, with a beautiful floor-to-ceiling mural, a cozy book nook, and engaging toys that kept both girls calm and happy. Mrs. Kelly assisted during the visit, and she was absolutely wonderful with the kids—patient, gentle, and reassuring every step of the way. Dr. Rob was fantastic! He shared so much helpful knowledge and gave us great tips for pediatric dental care. Both he and the entire staff were incredibly patient, friendly, and attentive. My kids enjoyed themselves so much that they didn’t even want to leave at the end! This office truly goes above and beyond for families, and we are so grateful to have found them. We’ll definitely be lifelong patients here.

Positive experience: Leaving 3 stars due to a $404 bill I received after bringing my two children there for the first time to have their teeth cleaned and examined. We have Cigna insurance and even though we have dental insurance, the amount we were billed that was above the "allowed amount" was quite high. We really loved the dentist and the staff, so we are very saddened by having to find another dentist. They are out of network with all providers, so if you're going to go here please check your coverage first and try to get an estimate in advance, from either the provider or your insurance company. We tried to ask their billing team to work with us and even though they were kind, little was done to help resolve our issue and now we have this outrageous bill. It's really sad how our medical and dental systems are set up :(

Dr. Rob was awesome and able to get us in for an emergency visit on very short notice. We plan to bring our other two boys to this location moving forward for regular care.

Extremely knowledgeable, insanely professional, very accommodating in all aspects, and sincerely care about their patients. In addition all of their equipment and technology is state of the art. Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! We switched dentists bc my 5yo wouldn't even open his mouth for them to even brush or varnish his teeth. They took both my boys back at the same time (5 and 2.5). I thought that would be a bit of a disaster but their teams were so well staffed and incredible with kids that before i even finished answering their questions i noticed both of the boys comfortably laying back letting them clean the plaques off their teeth!! I was utterly blown away! The boys had a fun time and looked forward to coming back!

Fantastic experience: My children have been seeing Dr. Rob for many years. In the past year or so, one of my children has had a traumatic dental injury. Dr. Rob and his staff have treated the problem and our family with the utmost professionalism and exceptional care. Dr. Rob and his staff have always made sure that both myself and my child were fully informed on what he would be doing. He has answered every question (many... from both of us) with patience and genuine desire to educate and ensure his patients are as comfortable as possible. In addition, it was a complicated injury and Dr. Rob and his team did not hesitate to take things slowly and seek advice from numerous professionals to make sure that the correct treatment was made for the best outcome in the long term. I am so grateful that the treatment for this somewhat unfortunate incident has been as "painless" as possible due to the care and concern of Dr. Rob and his staff. I'm a private person and don't generally like to make public posts, but Dr. Rob and his staff deserve it!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Durham Pediatric Dentristy enough! My son had an injury in his mouth at a very young age and Dr. Rob has gone out of his way to ensure my son gets the dental care that he needs, even though he’s still too young to actually need any treatment. The waiting room has a large fish tank and lots of toys and books. My son got a sticker when he arrived, a button with his photo when he left, a toy, and even a special holiday toy. They have decorations outside the building for the kids to look at through the windows. Every member of the staff treats us like they are so excited to see us, and they make sure my son has a good experience. Everyone who works here takes pride in their work and our south Durham community. The billing staff was so helpful when I had questions. There are truly no words to accurately describe how amazing this practice is.

Fantastic experience: When booking, Kristy was very patient, thorough, and transparent about pricing and timelines as well as procedural logistics. The office is squeaky clean and friendly. Waiting and treatment areas are furnished and decorated to be very inviting for all ages (down to the gnome colony outside the window of our treatment room). There was virtually no waiting for anyone, our appt was at 3:00 and we were out by 3:30. Dr. Rob and Carolyn were very helpful, communicative, and went above and beyond to help get a procedure scheduled for my child in a timely fashion. Came here for a second opinion about something and will definitely be coming back even though it’s an hour from our house! Couldn’t be happier with our visit.

Fantastic experience: My 3 year old son had a bike accident which affected his teeth. He had never been to the dentist before and I was so worried that this first visit would be traumatic because of his injuries. However, we had a wonderful experience! We got an appointment scheduled right away, and everyone from the front desk, to the assistant, to the doctors were SO kind and helpful! It was a little bit of a drive for us, but we will continue to go here because of our great experience. Fantastic experience: I can not say enough wonderful things about our experience! My 9 year old son has special needs and sensory issues which make going to the Dentist very difficult for him. Dr Rob and Lori were amazing with him. They had headphones and sunglasses and a private room to help with the noises and bright lights and took the time to let him touch and feel and hear all the tools. They patiently explained every step of the process with him and even spent a long time teaching him how to floss holding his hand in hers and helping him position it correctly. I left with tears of happiness and relief in my eyes after our first visit because it completely exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic experience: We have 4 children and have been coming here for 10+ years. The whole team is amazing! They are sincere, professional, patient, and explain each step to my kids. My children feel safe and respected. I appreciate their approach - they are conservative when it is reasonable & make recommendations when action is needed. I appreciate how Dr. Rob & Dr. Jamie explain things to my children and to me and how they follow up later in the day if my child had a procedure (such as sealants or a filling). We are thankful for this team & whole heartedly recommend them to others.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Rob and Durham Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics for various reasons. First, the care my kid received was excellent, Dr. Rob is very attuned to each kid's emotional reactions during all part of the visit which really helped my kid stay calm from start to finish AND want to go back for her follow up. Second, Dr. Rob had great advice for both what to expect directly after each visit (both physically and emotionally) from my kid and very helpful advice on what to do at home. You won't find a more caring team anywhere else in Durham! Dr. Rob even personally called to check in after our first visit to make sure my kid had recovered well.

Fantastic experience: I could not be happier! I grew up not receiving dental care as a child and was just lucky. I have taken both my kids to Dr. Christensen (Sr. And Jr.) since they were 3 years old. My kids never had a bad experience, and they both think visiting the dentist is fun! My oldest is now a freshman in college and my youngest is a 1st grader. As a mom I appreciate that the quality of care has remained the same over the years. We do not live in Durham county, and I will continue to drive in for every appointment until my youngest graduates. Thank you again for treating my children so well and helping them have positive experiences with the dentist.

Fantastic experience: My 15 month daughter chipped her tooth the night before we were moving from Winston-Salem to Durham. I called Durham Pediatric Dentistry the morning of our move and they worked us in that afternoon. The entire staff was so kind an accommodating. We are happy to have found such a great dentist office for our daughter.

Fantastic experience: My son was in a traumatic accident, left without front teeth and using a mouth piece or partial denture. I searched everywhere for alternatives. Dr. John not only started the plan for autotransplantation, but was the ambassador that educated, informed, and listened to every concern. Just recently Dr. John did the most amazing restoration. He’s the kind of Ortho/DDS that truly changes the course of our lives. I can’t say enough about his knowledge, empathy, and efforts. My son has beautiful front teeth and he’s given him his smile back. Durham Pediatrics is truly a diamond in the dental industry and I’d travel 3,000 miles to come back if we ever needed his expert care. Fantastic experience: The best experience with a pediatric dental office ever! Our 5 yo daughter had a traumatic experience getting cavities treated at another provider, so my general dentist recommended we get a second opinion from Dr. Rob. From the beginning of our appointment, the staff were patient and caring, and explained everything directly to our daughter in a way that eased her fear. Our daughter left saying she loved the dentist and was excited about going back again.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff here was so wonderful during my toddler’s first trip to the dentist. Dr Rob took his time to explain everything he planned to do beforehand and had a very calm and kind demeanor with my daughter. Overall it was the positive experience I had hoped for to set her up for future visits. Edit: second visit today went just as great as the first!

Fantastic experience: Today my 9 year old had braces put on. Quick, easy, and pain free. We have a long road ahead of us with the upcoming care she will need to correct an injury for an accident a few years ago. Excited we found Dr. John Christensen and his staff.

Fantastic experience: Really wonderful place! Both our boys have actually enjoyed their visits to the dentist & we’re very grateful to have found a practice that provides kind, thorough, & reasonable care for our kiddos! Adding that our 2 year old/third son had his first visit today and it went so incredibly well! He wasn’t nervous for a second because of how reassuring the staff was the entire time.

Fantastic experience: I brought my 2 and 4 year olds in today and we had a wonderful experience! Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind and welcoming. They were extremely patient with my 2 year old when he got a bit upset and were very gentle with both boys. My 4 year old kept saying that he loves the dentist as we were leaving the office. I often dreaded going to the dentist as a kid so I am thrilled to be giving our boys a positive experience. I highly recommend this office!!
