Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with our experience at this office. My five-year-old son has significant anxiety in medical settings, and instead of being met with patience or understanding, he was labeled as “ridiculous” by staff. That comment was inappropriate and unprofessional, especially toward a young child who was clearly overwhelmed. My son has multiple cavities that require treatment. Rather than offering appropriate behavior management options, sedation, or referral to a pediatric dentist experienced with anxious children, we were told they would not treat him. We were then offered the option to have his teeth removed, but informed that they would not place spacers afterward. The doctor also stated that without spacers, his teeth would likely shift significantly because his adult teeth may take years to come in. Being presented with extraction as a primary solution — while also being told that it could cause long-term alignment issues — was extremely concerning. Families with anxious children deserve compassionate, solution-focused care and appropriate referrals when needed — not judgment or limited options that may create future dental complications. I would not recommend this office to parents whose children require patience and specialized pediatric support. Updated Review: After my original review, the dentist personally called me and asked me to remove it. During that call, I was told that I was “telling a story” about what their staff member said. I want to be very clear: I have no reason to fabricate anything. My review reflected my genuine experience as a parent seeking care for my child. Instead of addressing the concerns I raised — including my child being called “ridiculous,” being refused cavity treatment, being told his teeth may need removal without spacers (despite concerns about shifting while adult teeth take years to erupt) — I was pressured to delete my review. Most concerning, I was informed that their office is now refusing to treat my other two children as well. Denying care to siblings after a parent leaves a negative review feels retaliatory and deeply unprofessional. My child struggles with anxiety in medical settings. As a parent, I was seeking patience, guidance, and treatment options — not judgment, dismissal, or threats of discontinuing care. I stand by my original review. Parents deserve transparency and compassion, especially when dealing with pediatric dental anxiety and significant dental needs.

Negative experience: I’m going to be completely real with you. This dentist… STAY AWAY. We went to this dentist and because of it being the only place to take Medicaid. Well I’m 18 now and moved over to a legit dentist that I will pay for out of pocket. Mind you, I just had a cleaning done at this place along with a filling on 1 tooth… When I went to the new dentist office, it comes to find out I have 6 cavities that were ignored, one cavity was under a filling because it wasn’t done properly, and that tooth now needs a crown and possible root canal. Also, they completely ignored the fact that my wisdom teeth were pushing up against my other teeth and need to be taken out. This dentist is NOT the route to go. Never EVER go here. They are a literal assembly line and truly don’t know what they are doing.

Negative experience: very unprofessional. I’ve been calling a little over a month now to book appointments for my kids but every single time it has either been “well give you a call back” “you’ll have to call back after 12” OR “our system is down.

Negative experience: The front desk and my daughter doctor was fine but his assistant Keila was very rude I do not wish to have her next time we come here again other than that. Sarah was amazing!

Negative experience: My son came in and they took him to the room was back there for an hour and then I get taken back to talk to a lady that tells me the stuff they put in his tooth exploded and burnt his skin and inside his mouth. When I first seen it just a tad red! Said tonout Vaseline on it that it would be okay in a few weeks…. So it’s been 3 days and I’m beyond pissed!!!!! I’ve had experiences here where my daughter had her fillings fall Out the next day or my son spitting metal Out from his cap for days but this is on a whole nother level!!!!!! He doesn’t even wanna go to the dentist ever again because every single time he has a bad experience but this is by far the worst

Fantastic experience: Today was our first time at the dentist, every one is so kind and friendly. Extremely patient with amazing attitudes. The atmosphere is great and kid friendly. The staff made sure they answered all questions and I understood everything that took place. Most importantly the were gentle and didn't make me feel like my childs high energy was an issue. I love it here!

Positive experience: We have been going here for several years. They are professional and the office is clean. Waiting times are an issue and it seems like they overbook appointments like airlines overbook seats. Also, they only seem to spend about 10 minutes on the cleanings. They don't have private rooms for any treatments besides cleanings, so if your child is anxious you cannot go back with them. Actually, they might have ONE, but the wait time is more than 6 mos last time I checked. Even the regular room is at least 2 months out. None of the above is enough to make me stop going there and regardless, dental care that takes insurance AND new patients is hard to find. I would recommend and note the above in case your child has special issues.

Fantastic experience: Love it! No crazy wait time. The dental assistance are amazing and super nice. The front clerks are great with the customer service! Every appointment that we’ve gone to has been the same great experience.

Negative experience: They going out of business or the doctor is not working .. something is going on the been close but didn’t let parents know anything !!!! I found this out because I book my kids appointment with a new doctor and the office told me that the doctor was leaving this office… so go head and find something new ! This off was okay but everytime they do my kids yearly cleaning they always put the same thing. They never change anything on the paperwork. It always just says the same thing like they don’t even check it, but the paperwork says something different from what the doctor says. The doctor always tell me how good I do with my kids teeth. They don’t have any cavities you know for them to be so young their teeth are really healthy, but then when they print me out of paper it says normal normal normal which is not a big deal but it just lets me know that y’all don’t take the time out to actually change everything for each patient which is not OK because if I’m a parent and I’m going over and beyond to make sure my kids do not have any cavities I want paperwork to say that not to say the same as a parent that’s just doing the bare minimum or just brushing their kids teeth once a day

Fantastic experience: Very welcoming staff and facility. This place of business is completely organized and decorated for the comfortability of the children. With a room set up like a mini theater,walls decorated from top to bottom, and such reassuring staff.I watched kids go from being anxious and scared to calm and collected before going back and smiles on her face when they came out. When it was our turn to go back the nurses explained to each child ages two and three what they were doing and was very interactive with them and consoling. They have headphones on each station for children to sit back and watch a movie so they don't have to hear the dental tools working as well as soft blankets for snuggles while having dental work done. Upon finishing both kids were given a oral hygiene bag with new toothbrushes, dental floss and toothpaste as well as a sticker and a treasure chest prize..Definitely worth the two 2-hour drive to make sure my children got the best care for their first dentist appointment possible. We were amazed at how each team member was constantly doing something and there was no one standing around. We are looking forward to working with this excellent team as my kids grow. My son has not stopped talking about his teeth Doctor (dentist appointment ) and already wants to go back.

The atmosphere is just so welcoming and the hygienists and the doctor are all so friendly and care about the children’s smiles!! Both my children always leave happy and the staff has so much patience.

My youngest has always had a lot of anxiety and fear with the dentist and the staff and doctors have ALWAYS been so patient and kind with her to make her more comfortable. We willingly make the hour commute each way just to see this staff. Shout out to Dr. Byron, Kindol, and Trish for always loving our girls and giving the best care. We appreciate everyone at Dentistry for Children!

Positive experience: 2nd time here, customer service excellent, waiting time after signing in was short and sweet, only complaint I had was, our 1st visit in the bay area the parents were allowed to be with there kids, this time, my 10 y/o is having a procedure and I'm not allowed to be with him, the tech told me only private rooms allow parents in the back. Not sure if they changed their procedures, I wasn't the only one left in the waiting area, it's comforting to the children when the parents are present. Questions can be asked as well. Otherwise instructions, requests, F/U's, etc. was professional and timely.

Staff is always sweet and kind and they ease all my daughter’s nervousness. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. The atmosphere is so kid friendly. We’re always in and out. Negative experience: I want to let you know as I do appreciate dentist and the care they provide for kids, I do regretfully write this. To the nurse with the awesome attitude that almost ran over my foot because I was diverting traffic just 25' to other pathway of parking lot, I really appreciate your kindness and gratitude for the other people that work in this world! You have an awesome soul and your welcome for trying to keep you from getting a flat tire with the potholes that needed filling. I do not know how much more nicer to be other than say an old southern saying," God bless your heart" from the old hag. To the manager of the dentistry, I do hope you can have a heart to heart with the beautiful soul, please ask them to be more kind and how they act reflects on your establishment. Positive experience: Equipment needs to be changed out. My daughter had to keep moving from different stations. Employers was not sure about the difference in cost of changing.

Positive experience: Dr Jay was very nice, he was very patient answered all my questions but it was a bit rushed..they definitely got us in and out quickly. The tech that took my children back was not very good with hygiene though. She would touch and type all over the keyboard then get the plastic wrap for my child to put their mouth on without using any hand sanitizer or anything. She did it once again for a different X-ray that they did where she put on gloves but then presumed to touch all over everything (keyboard, mouse, etc) then winded up touching my child’s mouth right after without sanitizing or washing hands..

Fantastic experience: Peyton appointment was at 1130. We was called back at 1138 I had to finish his paperwork up, so I expected to wait but it wasn't long. The staff was friendly and great with my son. I love how kid friendly the environment is everyone was nice and courteous.

They’re super friendly, take their time (while getting you in and out), and the over all environment was very kid friendly and inviting! Coming from a dental office where my child was yelled at and the dentist didn’t care at all, this office and dental staff was a breath of fresh air! Would recommend to ANYONE!

Negative experience: You will be in here all day long. No matter if you get there early. Just be prepared to wait for hours even once you’re in the back you wait for over 30 mins on the dentist. It’s like a chop shop in this place. Yet they are just about the only people in Savannah that takes government insurance so I guess I have to get what I get and not have a fit. We’ve been coming here for years and the wait time has just gotten worse over the years.

Negative experience: THE WAIT TIME IS AWFUL MY SON'S APPOINTMENT WAS AT 2:00 PM GOT THERE AT EXACTLY 2 AND THEY CALL HIM BACK UNTIL 2:51 PEOPLE WERE COMING IN AFTER US AND WAS BEING CALLED AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE WENT TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE TWICE BEFORE BEING CALLED WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A APPOINTMENT IF YOU DON'T GET SEEN WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON TIME

Negative experience: My daughters have been going here for five years and I used to think very highly of this place until our last visit. The dental hygienist that was assisting with one my daughters was rude, disrespectful & very unprofessional. My daughter is older (16) so I sent her to the back by herself. When she returned I could tell something was wrong and once in our car she burst into tears telling me that the dental hygienist was talking to her nasty, forcefully moving her head and told her that she should of just stayed home if she wasn’t going to follow her directions. I let the office manager know what happened and was told it would be handled but no apology to me or my daughter and no follow up on how they handled the dental hygienist.

Negative experience: This dentistry is more like a puppy mill.Entertaining, but if they need additional service, you can expect to wait months and months for fillings for your children.And in fact, they will make you come back and do one at a time. They do not care if your child gets the additional service ! This is all about medicaid money.

Fantastic experience: It was my son’s first ever dentist appointment! We walked in at 10:45 for a cleaning and checked out by 11:15! It was very friendly staffed and the Dentist him self was also very personable! My son immediately liked his surroundings!

My baby boy absolutely loves her and she’s gentle !!!! The office it self is pretty durn swift. My son appointment was at 10:45! We got there at 10:36 .. 10:41 they were calling us for X-rays and cleaned his teeth next! I was out of there in no time!!! Not even a hour !!! And I was allow to go back with my son and that I love the most because I like to see how my baby is behaving and making sure he’s being treated right!!!!

Negative experience: Worst experience ever! This is the second time I have been disappointed.. First time, My daughter supposed to get her teeth clean with her siblings but didn’t only X-rays .. made a new appointment for her cleaning… she’s got her cleaning was told she’s needed something for her fill in from her cavity… so here is the second problem.We drove two hours to get to My daughter appointment (Today 11/15/23) so she could receive what she needed ( I forgot what it is called)… the lady who worked there ( I wish I got her name ) told me I couldn’t go back there wasn’t enough room. Okay cool.. I have before but okay cool.. so I went to the bathroom… came out sat down. They called me on my phone so I walked up to the counter… the lady told me… I am so sorry for wasting your time and energy… Medicaid only cover this one time someone should’ve caught this… so One- this lady assumed I couldn’t afford the treatment… two- y’all look or someone looks on the computer… no one didn’t see it until we got there??? This is VERY unacceptable!

Negative experience: Made the appointment for a broken tooth. We drove an hour and a half for them to look in his mouth and say “yes, it’s chipped and needs to be fixed. The only appointment we have is 2 months out.” Why not book the time for the dentist to fix the broken tooth

Positive experience: Would not recommend for children 4 and under. Not very patient and seem to be more worried with how fast they can get patients in and out.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Byron Colley and the team here are angels. Last Friday, our three year old son had a bad fall that landed him in the emergency room at the Children’s Hospital. The doctor there recommended that he see a pediatric dentist right away due to a tooth being knocked out and possible other damage to his mouth. We called his regular dentist and asked if they could work him in before they closed for the weekend, and they turned our son away. We spent the next couple hours trying to find a new dentist. Dr. Colley, whom we had never met, met us at his office after hours and helped our son. We are truly grateful for this angel.
