Positive experience: They’re okay they used to be better. If the child has a cavity I’m not understanding why they don’t treat it. They just give a toothpaste and the next appointment month or more out. Makes no sense! Like what are they waiting for ? It it to get worse and they get more money.

Negative experience: Hours say open until 5pm. I understand I called at 4:15 (was hung up on) called back at 4:30 (placed on hold again) but if you know you placed someone on hold and the phone hangs up at least have the common courtesy to call the customer back! Seems like I’m just being placed on hold until close time, which is a waste of my time.

Fantastic experience: My son had Khamani as his amazing tech! He’s 17 and I love the fact that they talk to him about his treatment! Khamani saw him as a young man and tailored her delivery to make sure he understood. Everyone we deal with at this location is welcoming and relatable. The staff here is why we drive 35 minutes across the MMBT for visits!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience..short wait times..very friendly Secretaries and medical staff throughout the facility..very skilled professionals who are awesome with children of all ages..they did so well with my 15yr old autistic daughter and my 8nyr old son who is a busy body..we felt so comfortable and I am so glad I found this dentist office for my kiddos..will be staying here for the long haul...highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this pediatric dentist. True, they can be slow some days but regardless they treat my toddler like a princess. I honestly dont know how they can get her to sit still even for an X-ray, but they do and do it well. I am very pleased with this Dentistry and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you to those that recommend this place to me a little over a year ago. They absolutely ROCK!

Negative experience: The front desk staff are very loud and yell your information out so everyone to hear it! I ask her to not yell my information out and she start talking rude! Very unprofessional, but the staff in the back are amazing I been going there since my son was 10mnt he is 7 years old now! But I will not be returning

Fantastic experience: My 6 year old daughter had major dental surgery done in February. 5 crowns, 3 fillings, 2 extractions. I was beyond nervous for her to be under General Anesthesia for her appointment. Dr. Chris Wennerholm did a phenomenal job with her Anesthesia. He called me the night before, explained everything. Answered all my questions. He was very sweet and gentle with my daughter when meeting her. The nurse that stays back there during the procedure was Dora, she was amazing! She made my daughter feel extremely comfortable the entire time. Dora was very thorough and patient. You can tell she loves what she does. Dr. Sai did an absolute wonderful job with my daughter’s dental work. He finished everything in 1 hour. He let me know how everything in the OR went, gave me a thorough run down of the aftercare. Her work looks great! I can’t stress how nerve racking this appointment was for me as a parent, but this team couldn’t have done a better job. When your child gets their procedure done, you are to wait in the lobby the whole time. I was not allowed back, even when she was recovering. I had a staff member explain to me why that was. Some parents in the past have passed out watching their child go to sleep - so for safety reasons ALL parents remain in the lobby. When your child wakes up from their sleep, the nurse will wheel him or her out to your vehicle. It’s a very smooth transfer. I’d recommend this office to any parent!

Positive experience: We chose this office specifically because it was recommended by the Autism Society of Tidewater Virginia. When a practice carries that kind of recommendation, families like mine come in expecting intentional, proactive accommodations for children on the spectrum — not just general kindness. While this experience was better than our previous non-pediatric dentist, there are important areas that need improvement if this office is going to continue being recommended for autistic children. For example, once I informed the receptionist that my son is on the spectrum, we should have automatically been placed in the quiet room rather than starting in a large, open space and being moved later. That initial environment matters. Waiting times were also longer than ideal. I understand delays happen, but extended waiting significantly increases anxiety for many children on the spectrum and should be factored into scheduling decisions. During the appointment, the pace felt rushed, and there was limited effort to walk my child through each step before it happened. For many neurodivergent children, preparation and slower transitions aren’t optional — they are essential. Taking an extra few minutes to explain and move gradually could make a significant difference in the overall experience. Additionally, the office itself appears rundown and in need of a deep clean, fresh paint, and attention to the lobby area. A calming, well-maintained environment is part of creating a sensory-considerate space. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, and the dentist answered my questions thoroughly and provided helpful recommendations for supporting my child’s dental care at home. My hope in sharing this is that the practice will consider additional autism-specific training and more intentional systems so families who seek them out for this reason truly receive the level of support they expect and deserve.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at this dental office. Mady at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful as soon as we walked in she made a great first impression and went out of her way to help me adjust for some scheduling conflicts with future appointments. We were quickly called to the back by Janeil who was so patient and kind, making my son feel comfortable right away during his X-rays and cleanings as well as answering all my questions. Fantastic experience: I arrived later for my appointment the front desk staff assisted me with a same day appointment, My son was taken to the back quick, his dental assistant was attentive and friendly which was helpful for my son. The dentist was caring and nice, he walk my son through the procedure as he was performing it.my son was very relaxed, laughing. The manager at check was kind and very professional. Fantastic experience: I am beyond satisfied with the service provided. From the secretary, to the nurse, to the anesthesiologist, and the dentist, everyone was professional, explained their role and procedures, and asked if I had questions. I am sure they are tired of repeating the same information on a daily yet they took their time and made me feel comfortable. I even received a follow up call later in the day where the nurse called to check up on my little one. Although I missed the call it reiterated their great service and attention to their clients. While I was extremely nervous to have my son put under for the procedure I couldn’t have been sent to a better place! I cant thank them enough!!!

Positive experience: Great front office staff. Understanding of scheduling conflicts and helpful in rescheduling. They rotate dentists through all the different practices so you'll never know who you'll get. The hygienists are very friendly and do a great job cleaning and doing xrays.

Negative experience: On this day 1/16/2027 9 am appointment, didn’t get seen until 9:45. Wait time horrible. Ladies talking about how they don’t like the manager at the check-in checkout counter. The girl at the checkout counter was the worst along with the girl wearing the blonde wig. They both talked about the manager like a dog. The lady with the big black glasses was the most professional and she didn’t feed into the negative talk about the manager. Maria was great.

Fantastic experience: I was really nervous, but the staff did a great job and communicated well leading up to the procedure and on the day of. They were also very kind when we arrived with my little one. My only recommendations would be allowing parents in the recovery room with their child, having a larger waiting area, and cleaning the child’s face before returning them. Other than that, it was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: The staff was amazing! They keep you informed as soon as you walk in the door, make you and your family feel very comfortable, and explain everything without rushing you. They truly make you feel seen, heard, and important. My daughter was so happy with the staff, she was such a big girl and walked to the back all by herself! Afterwards, we were given plenty of information to take home, and everything was reviewed with us before we left. They even called us at home hours later to check back in on my daughter, which meant so much to us. I’m very pleased with how it all went and am now praying for a speedy recovery process for my baby

Negative experience: We were checked in upon arrival; however, despite being the only clients in the waiting area, the staff were loud and unprofessional. We waited approximately 30 minutes after check-in to be called for annual exams. My daughter also felt the provider was overly playful and did not conduct a thorough examination of her mouth.DISAPPOINTED

Negative experience: We had a good first experience. But as the year has progressed it seems very disorganized. Most recently, on a snow day I called and asked if they were open (and indicated we had an appt in an hour -like 1130 and late morning) and was told to come. Get there and the waiting room is literally full and overrun with people into the hallway and we're told over an hour wait due to some ppl calling out. I'm sure they knew that an hour earlier at 10am when I called.. because ppl would need to be there before then for work. I had to ask if I could reschedule, otherwise we would have been made to sit there among everyone with no update. We rescheduled to today. I filled out everything in advance and we were ten minutes early. Why did we have to wait almost an hour only for someone to give us an update that it was almost our time? Especially if we were kind and rescheduled with no issues and helped ya'll 2 weeks ago. I run a business so I'm aware that clients like updates and not to feel like their time is wasted. It seems as though the front desk staff could benefit from having someone handle time management and updating patients vs needing to wait to ask and then be told. There seems to be not much initiative for communication and making sure clients are handled timely and told so. Massive improvement needed on that front..

Negative experience: This dental office was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. Scheduling an appointment was unnecessarily difficult, and when I finally arrived, I was made to wait an unreasonable amount of time with no explanation. After my next appointment was scheduled, the office contacted me on the day of the visit asking if I could arrive several hours earlier, showing a complete lack of respect for my time. Then, only 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I was informed that I would not be allowed to receive a cleaning or routine checkup without a medical clearance from my primary care physician—something that was never required or mentioned during my previous visit. When I asked why this clearance was suddenly necessary, no one could provide a clear or consistent answer. Being notified just 30 minutes before the appointment made it impossible to obtain such documentation, yet the staff refused to take responsibility or offer any solution. Instead, I was transferred and placed on hold for an extended period of time without explanation, which was extremely unprofessional. The lack of communication, poor organization, and dismissive attitude toward patients were unacceptable. This office demonstrates no regard for patient time or basic standards of professional care. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to seek dental care elsewhere.

But the fact that both times I’ve been here I have had to wait ONE HOUR from my appointment time despite being on time is so disrespectful. I had to leave work early and was on time for the appointment. If you show up late to a dentist or doc they do not see you- let alone an HOUR late

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at Coliseum Pediatric Dentistry! All the staff members were friendly and made us feel welcome. Once he was called back, my son warmed up right away to Destiny, and even felt comfortable enough to sit in the chair by himself and let her clean his teeth! His favorite part was the mouth rinse. Once Dr. Watson came in, he had no problem getting his teeth examined by her as well. Both Dr. Watson and Destiny also answered any questions I had. My son left with a smile on his face and a new dinosaur sticker to show off! Thank you and we are excited to see you again in six months. :)

Fantastic experience: I will never regret my decision to switch my daughter's dentist. I am so so glad we started coming here! My daughter and I both had a traumatic experience at her previous dentist. I have made the staff aware and every single person has been so patient with her and explaining what they are doing. She has loved every person she has met here! Today she had to get a filling and this is the first time getting a filling at this dentist. After her last experience she was almost in tears, but the Dental Assistant Mariah was positive and upbeat all morning and telling my daughter how well she was doing. Doctor Watson was quick and also explained everything she was doing. Mariah and Doctor Watson worked in sync. I couldnt believe it, but my daughter had said she didnt want to leave and she actually had fun! (After a filling!) I want to thank everyone here. I feel like as a mom who had to witness her daughter have such a bad experience to now witnessing her say she wants to stay or come back to this dentist has had me in tears for a completely different reason. I am blessed and I am thankful to have found a dentist who truly puts their patients well being first. THANK YOU!!

Negative experience: The staff at this pediatric dental office are always wonderful, and every procedure my children have had has been successful with no issues. I’ve consistently had positive experiences with the team. However, the cleanliness of the office has been a recurring concern. Each time we return, the facility appears noticeably less maintained. Negative experience: My 3 children had and appointment at 9 am, one of my children was there because I needed to reschedule because the receptionist at the check in desk forgot to check us in, which made us have to reschedule after waiting for 2 hours. So, moving on to Wed the 26 of Nov I'm giving it another chance I get there 10 minutes early and waiting about 45 minutes for the Nurse Jasmine one of the worst nurses I've ever met asking my son when is he getting his hair done and what is the style that he has now at this time I didn't understand what all that had to do with my baby teeth. Also my 17 yrs old, Ms. Jasmine the nurse was trying to scratch the glue from her braces making her bleed and gums swell she was in alot of pain when we were leaving. The Doctor took forever to see us, she came in an hour after getting a seat in the back. My children and I wasn't happy and it's becoming our new norm with this office. So will definitely be relocating because this office is sad and needs alot of improvement seriously.

Negative experience: Every time we try to have an appointment here it is at least a 45 minute wait. If this happened once I would be understanding, things happen. But this is consistent, and it's not just me. I watch other kids come in and then as the time passes they get antsy, hungry, bored and upset before even going back to see the dentist. We are looking for a new dentist, as I find this so rude and disrespectful of patients' time. Don't make appointments unless you can accommodate them in a timely manner.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Julien and the Dental Assistant Janae were amazing. They showed great care with my son, and worked seamlessly (nearly without needing to even speak with eachother). The front lobby was very kind and professional. Positive experience: We have been bringing our boys to this dentistry since they were old enough to see them. The staff and dentist have always been kind and caring with them. My only complaint is that more recently the waiting area seems rather dirty and our last few appointments were pushed pretty far after the start time possibly due to overbooking.

Negative experience: I really wanted to have a good experience here, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I arrived early for my child’s appointment and still ended up waiting over an hour past our scheduled time. There was no apology or acknowledgment for the delay once we were finally called back. When we did see the dentist, I felt like my concerns were brushed off rather than addressed. I left feeling frustrated and without any clear answers or solutions. I understand that toddlers aren’t always the easiest patients, but I was surprised by how rushed the cleaning felt. Especially for somewhere that’s supposed to specialize in children’s dental care. There was no effort made to comfort my child or even connect with them prior to just sticking tools in their mouth. The hygienist barely brushed the front of my child’s teeth and didn’t even touch the back surfaces. Honestly, I spend more time brushing my child’s teeth at home than what was done there. Overall, I felt like my child was treated as just another number, not as a patient who deserved care and attention. I came in hoping for reassurance and guidance, but left feeling dismissed. I don’t plan to return and will be seeking a second opinion elsewhere to make sure my child’s teeth are properly cared for. Update: took my child to another dentist and the experience was night and day. Also got the solution I was looking for. The dentist properly cleaned my child’s teeth, and got the residue off within 30 seconds. This place told me it was internal staining that wouldn’t come off…

Negative experience: Recently went in for my 2 kiddos cleaning to only find out my daughters appointed cancelled. I checked my emails and text and confirmed I only received confirmation of the appointments and no cancellation notice. Spoke with a Chris on the phone who was very unprofessional she claimed I never made the appointment and they never sent the emails or text. So I took screen shots and sent it over for them to verify and was told that “well we are currently behind we can see her but it will be way later we’ve had multiple call outs today.” And she kept repeating herself. She then said oh we won’t be able to see her without you here her stepdad can’t sign the paperwork. Even though he is stepdad he is also a legal guardian and I understood at that moment maybe they just didn’t want to see my baby so I’m current looking to find a new dentistry for my family.

Fantastic experience: My son is autistic and dental visits are hard. He needed a tooth pulled and let me say my anxiety was high. The dentist came in, talked right to him, showed and told him exactly what she was going to do. By connecting with him, extraction was fast, no meltdown. Fantastic experience: Today my son had to get a filling done. Mr. Dr. RAY explained the procedure very well and did a great job with my son. He talked me through the procedure. His assistant Lyris was amazing as well. She went over what would be expected for the doctor to fulfill for my son’s procedure. I highly recommend this dentist off for parents with children that have anxiety issues because my son did very well being it was his first time. I thank them both so much for making me and my son comfortable.

Negative experience: After waiting almost 10 minutes instead of answering the phone they picked up and immediately hung up. I've disappointed by this and wanted to by son to this location for being highly rated. It's clear I'm going to be doing business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dr Datta and her assistant Janae exceeded every standard with their professionalism, interpersonal tact and their dedication to the patient. My son needed three teeth pulled and initially we were planning to only pull one and schedule the rest to be pulled with sedation. Dr Karta's ability to calm my son and efficiently pull each tooth allowed all three to be pulled with only nitrous. Dr Karta and her assistant are an invaluable asset to your organization.
