Aspen Dental - Camillus, NY

Positive experience: I was very appreciative that they could get me in the next day because I had severe tooth pain. However I had to wait over two hours to complete my exam and x-rays, but the doctor was very thorough and professional.

Fantastic experience: The surgeon did a great job on my dental implant. He was careful to make sure I was completely numb and all I could feel was the pressure. He was quick and efficient. I was only in the dental chair for about an hour and he spent about 30 min inside my mouth removing the tooth and placing the implant.

They explained everything they did and what was about to happen as you progessed through appointment....and the staff was diverse which is rare.... My denture came in early, so they called me to come in soo er to pick it up. The customer service is OUTSTANDING!!

Negative experience: Made and cancelled an appointment for a cleaning within 24 hours because I was informed that I would need to schedule a second, separate appointment for the cleaning itself while the initial appointment would instead be for a consultation (fine, okay, whatever) and the creation of a care plan, which is completely unnecessary and a total waste of time. The time spent creating a plan that I don't need could instead be used for the service I scheduled the appointment for to begin with. I never actually stepped foot in this place so if I could give zero stars, I would. What an absolutely asinine business model.

Fantastic experience: The wait times might be a little long sometimes but they get you out as quick as they can. The staff is all truly wonderful and make it so someone like me who hadn't gone to the dentist in years felt comfortable.

Negative experience: I was not aware that the first new patient appointment DID NOT INCLUDE A CLEANING, which was the sole purpose I made this appointment. I scheduled it for 8am so I could head right over to work after (since the appt said it would take 30-60 minutes), and I didn't leave the office until 9:35, making me incredibly late for work. After taking nearly 45 minutes for x-rays to be done, an additional 45 minutes was taken to look at my mouth/gums to determine that I have relatively severe gingivitis (which I have never once heard from any other dentist before) and could use a crown to fix a crooked tooth (which I had inquired about and communicated that I was only asking out of curiosity). I was then brought to another room to have someone discuss my "treatment plan" with me-- a plan that I did not want nor did I ask for. I informed the worker that I was on a tight schedule and needed to get to work, but she insisted that I stay to listen for a few minutes despite my statement. She then began to walk through what pricing would be for my "plan", and tried convincing me to spend $1,500 on a gingivitis treatment and a crown, which I had NEVER AGREED TO NOR ASKED FOR. I then simply said "I am not willing to pay this", quickly wrapped up the conversation and left. Safe to say I will NOT be returning to Aspen Dental, and wouldn't recommend doing so unless you are in desperate need of severe treatment plans or are okay with being bullied into spending money on something you may not even want/need. Everyone was relatively nice throughout my visit, but I do not appreciate the encounter that happened at the end of my visit, nor the insane amount of time this took and wasted (for not even getting a cleaning) with little to no urgency or apologies of delay, despite knowing I was running late for work.

Fantastic experience: Best dental experience I’ve had. The office is clean an comfortable and the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Shoutout to Nina who did my cleaning (etc). She told me everything she was going to do before she did it which put me at ease. I thought cleanings were supposed to hurt but after this experience I’m realizing I just went to bad dentists before. Scheduling was incredibly easy and they are flexible with payment plans. Overall 10/10 experience.

Positive experience: The Aspen Dental Biddeford Office Staff, Dentist, Dental Assistants, & Dental Hygienist were friendly, helpful, & accommodating. I am very happy with both my periodontal cleaning & bridge replacement procedures. Although quite pricey; I am grateful for the discounted yearly program that helped to reduce costs.

Negative experience: Worst place ever! Extremely rude staff!! Don't bother reaching out to them with any concerns or problems. I was in serious pain and was dismissed and told that someone would return my call, Well that didn't happen. Never again. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Fantastic experience: I was okay after my first visit. Finding out I needed $5000 worth of dental work was shocking. Ann the office manager tried to soften the blow but what can I say. Now to the issue at hand. On Tuesday one of my teeth decided to come loose so I called the Camillus office to schedule an emergent appointment to my dismay after 6 messages and a call and email from management I have yet to get a return call. Am not feeling the lack of service. Addendum: I finally received a email from the new office manager Kaycee after the receipt of the email within 2 days I had a appointment for impressions, 2 days later I had the bad teeth removed and received my partial plate, 3 days later I was in for a check up. I was very pleased with the service I received from Dr. Finley and Kaycee and the remainder of the staff. They made me feel very comfortable. Thank you for your care. They made the entire process much easier by helping to ease my stress and keep me comfortable throughout each visit. I truly cannot emphasize enough how gentle, patient, and compassionate everyone has been. From the financial department to the hygienists, receptionists, and assistants, I have never had a negative experience. The level of care and professionalism across the entire team is outstanding. Dr. Finlay is exceptional—both highly skilled and genuinely kind—and Melissa has been especially insightful and also very kind. I am very grateful for the care I’ve received and would highly recommend this practice to anyone, especially those who feel anxious about dental visits. There are other staff members that were also apart of my visits that I would love to shout out- but I unfortunately forgot their names!

Negative experience: If i could leave a 0 star I would. The lady at the front desk has an attitude and is completely rude! I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. They send me a referral with 0 information on it. My new dental practice says the referral needs more information and aspen dental says they cant put more information on the referral! Doesnt make sense aspen dental are lazy and dont help anyone. The reviews about this llace are true. I sincerely hate them.

Negative experience: The whole staff and the experience was great up until Dr. Finnley. I was asked if there was any questions I had so when I asked if my tooth was being pulled today he instantly got an attitude with me stating this was just a consultation. I told him that I was told by whomever set my appointment yesterday that my tooth would be pulled same day. He proceeded to tell me no one would have told me that. So besides having an attitude with me, and being rude, now he’s accusing me of being a liar and it completely ruined the experience and I will never be back to another Aspen Dental.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at the Camillus Aspen Dental office is just amazing. Friendly, non-judgmental, informative and reassuring. Nina was my Hygienist and she just put me at ease today while doing my cleaning. She was sweet and reassuring the entire time and thoroughly professional. I recommend Aspen to anyone who needs good dentistry.

Negative experience: We all know the healthcare system is broken and this place is no different. They only want our money and they don’t care about their patients. My dental insurance change and Apsen accepts Delta Dental. I changed from my out of network dentist to save some money and had/have healthy teeth and gums (last cleaning was 6 months ago). After my first appointment with Aspen, they diagnosed me with gingivitis and three cavities. The bill was going to be $1,400 to repair my ailments. I laughed and left the office and went back to my out of network dentist who cleaned my teeth and gave me a positive rating on my teeth and gums. My recommendation is to stay away from business first establishments like this and find a local dentist!

Positive experience: Nina and Melissa, the hygienists, are both great as are the girls at the front desk. My only complaint is that sometimes they keep you waiting well beyond your scheduled time before they call you back.

Negative experience: The main dentist there is incredibly rude and lacks bedside manner. He enter the room and doesn’t introduce himself. Doesnt explain what is going to do before sticking his finger in people’s mouth and doesn’t say he going to leave. He lacks all etiquettes and manners and the his assistants have make up for the embarrassing situation he creates.

Fantastic experience: I have not been to see a dentist in probably over 10 years, I just had a birthday and I finally decided that it was time to start caring about my teeth. I had signed up for the Aspen Dental Saving plan because I do not have dental insurance and made an appointment for the very next day, which I was surprised how soon I was able to get an appointment. At my appointment everyone I had an encounter with was so professional and very nice. I got all my x-rays completed, spoke with Dr. Finlay and hygienist Melissa, and then went and talked about payment plans and scheduling appointments. While making some appointments the young lady helping me, I completely forgot her name but she was AMAZING, she asked if I wanted to come back in an hour to begin my treatment since she saw a spot had opened up. I came back and the hygienist Melissa, who also was AMAZING, did a very thorough gum cleaning. I am very happy with this Aspen dental location and staff.

Fantastic experience: From the very beginning the staff has been friendly and knowledgeable! I called Friday and two days later was my first appointment. They made it very affordable as they did not accept my insurance. Fast forward to Monday and I experienced the same friendly staff. Even with my anxiety they walked me through the whole process. They are working around my schedule and the payment plan is very affordable. Excited to start the treatment plan this Saturday!! Ready to love my smile again! Thank you - Aspen Dental Team!

Negative experience: Beware of Aspen Deep Cleaning Treatments ! Get a 2nd Opinion on ANYTHING they Recommend. They recommend a deep gum cleaning. Which my previous dentist never even mentioned..and my current dentist never mentioned either. Aspen will charge you even more, than the original estimate. The actual deep cleaning is a total SCAM ! Nothing more than a regular cleaning with a little disinfectant squirted under the gums ! Such a rip off ! Would never go back there again . They recently sent my unpaid bill to a collection agency Good Luck !

Fantastic experience: Was nervous at first for no reason apparently, staff was so nice! Hard to find a good dentist lately this specific location fits perfect for me! Deborah was so patient with my x rays & scans, she made the uncomfortable positions comfortable, she’s great! Fantastic experience: Debora was excellent with taking my xrays. No retakes. Of course there's some discomfort but she did so in a timely manner. Afterwards I was at and she did a scan to recreate my mouth digitally and that was even more comfortable. Luckily, I didn't need much and Dr. FINLAY informed me that I just need some fluoride to help in some spots. Jenna was quick to get me in the schedule and all of my questions were answered.

Fantastic experience: First time there, offered all discounts i qualified for and I was in and out without a long wait they very nice and helpful with all my needs and prices were reasonable looking forward to my next appointment!! They make you feel like family

Negative experience: I am changing this from 5 star to 1 star and they deserve none. They come off as great. Went to go in for an already paid through the loan service. They tried to tell me that I owed a 300 dollar copay cause the loan sent it back. I got in touch woth American First Finance and they told me they were notified by the business saying they over charged. It is the same price as the copay. They ignored all of my calls said they would call back and never did. BEWARE of going here! Here is the first statement I have from the place where I've got the loan. Aspen ignored literally ignored my calls after they canceled my appointments and said I owed them what was overcharged. This doesn't include everything my insurance covered.

Fantastic experience: I have to give credit to my Aspen Dental hygienist, Melissa, who is such a good patient educator. Not only did she help me to prioritize the expensive needs with the dentist for cavities and root canal/crowns, but also each time I am there for a cleaning, she has taught me better ways to have good dental health and at the last cleaning, I had my best numbers ever. When you have that kind of a hygienist, you keep your appointments Thank you Melissa

Negative experience: Insurance fraud and unethical in how they mandatory schedule multiple appointments just for one cleaning and won't allow you to bring xrays from another dentist or orthodontist. Instead tried to make me pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for new ones that would not be cover being my daughter just had them else where. Also refused to do any cleaning without new xrays. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!

Negative experience: Worst dental experience in all of my 63 years!!! Dr Finlay has no personality and has terrible "chair-side" manners. I have never had so much pain as I did at Aspen (Camillus) during a dental visit. And as for the crown that he supposedly fixed - well, I needed to go to another dentist to have it fixed. The only reason I gave it one star was because the receptionist and hygienist were very nice.

Negative experience: Aspen Dental should be called Corporate Give-Me-Your-Money Dental. I came in with a small tooth problem and they put me through a painful battery of tests then sent me to the financial gal who wanted to charge me over $10K. They use fear tactics to get your business and suppress your financial woes. Don't go there.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't sold on this place my insurance changed and I needed a new dentist. I ended up here. I have never missed a cleaning. I definitely wasn't sure about this place. I don't like to be upsold at all. They do a ot of this. However, Melissa ( I hope I have her name right) she was FANTASTIC. This girl gave me the best cleaning of my life. I told the girl at the desk on the way out. " I always want her". The cleaning was so professional and well done.I decided to stay and only because of how great she is. I kid you not this woman is greatest hygenist I have had in my entire life. I never noticed a difference in the color of my teeth after other cleanings. I looked in my car mirror when I left I said to my spouse " omg they look soooo good". Now my spouse is thinking of leaving our old dental office and coming to Aspen, because of how good my teeth look. Basically, if you want a good cleaning done with care and knowledge come see her. The entire practice is very clean, a ton of tech,all the employees are kind.. The Dentist he is a good guy, he's clean and put together, not messy like some. However, I will be spending the majority of my visits with my Hygienist. I got so frigging lucky to end up with her. Thank you girl for being at the top of your field and taking great care of my teeth!

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could. Literally told me I needed to get an extraction done on one tooth. Thank god I went and got a second opinion. I will no longer be going to Aspen

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time with Aspen Dental. The reviews I read about them scamming people into deep cleanings are true. I was quoted over $1000 with ins!! If you don’t agree to it, they won’t perform a regular cleaning. I was hoping it wasn’t true because, they are closest office that accepts my insurance. I’ll happily pay out of pocket with my current dentist. Shame on you Aspen Dental!!

Negative experience: Aspen Dental seriously needs better organization and respect for patients’ time. The first time I was just 10 minutes late, they refused to see me. Yet when I arrived on time for my next appointment, I ended up waiting 30 minutes just to be called for X-rays, and then an additional 45 minutes before the doctor (or anyone) actually saw me. My time is just as valuable as the staff’s and the doctors’, and the lack of consistency and professionalism is extremely frustrating. Patients deserve timely care, clear communication, and basic respect for their schedules. This experience has been very disappointing.

I Am A 72 Year Old Woman Living Alone With A Mortgage & Other Financial Responsibilities Behind It & No One Is Helping Me. My Husband Passed Many Years Ago I'm Hoping I Can Achieve What Needs To Be Done By Some Miracle By God's Amazing Grace Comes To My Rescue So That My Mouth Can Be Fixed.

Fantastic experience: I know aspen doesn’t always have the best reputation BUT I personally have never had any issues at all with this dental office. The staff are always so friendly and the hygienists are who keep me coming back. They make sure that I am educated on updated and recommended techniques on how to brush your teeth and I always leave with a very clean mouth. I would recommend this office to everyone and will continue to come here! Also- shout out to Melissa who has been the only hygienist to question how I brush my teeth and then show me with a mirror how to improve brushing! You are amazing and aspen is luckily to have you.

Positive experience: I thought the Hygenist was super friendly and very thorough, but I felt the Dentist wasn't as friendly and seemed a bit stressed, the total cost of everything was very overwhelming, I would like to get a 2nd opinion before I make a decision as to which way to proceed, I do appreciate you getting me in there so quickly I also thought the cost would be exorbitant and couldn't take care of my tooth that was hurting and wanted $$$$ upfront even with my Insurance, they wouldn't even do a cleaning without cleaning the gums and deep pockets at all and way to expensive, I contacted another dentist and they said that was ridiculous, im not sure they really care about the patient and more concerned with $$$$ ,very disillusioned

Fantastic experience: This office is amazing !! As soon as I walked in I was greeted with warm soft energy. My whole appointment was the best experience I’ve ever had !! From the Xray Tech Stephanie to the providers, Dr.Finlay and Nina. Everyone was very polite and I understood my treatment from both providers. I am super excited to start my treatment. I will definitely recommend this office to family and friends.

I was extremely anxiety ridden and Aspen made my experience very easy and I was very nervous about the outcome and it was really easy and made me feel at home , I have to come back few times but IM SO EXCITED FOR THE END RESULT

Negative experience: Started off by paying $300 to see a root canal specialist. Followed up by $192 dollars at the appointment. Waited in room for 45 minutes before dentists came in only to only have him knock on my tooth with heat then cold followed by why are you here today? Then agreeing to have root canal performed he walked me to the receptionist were I was told they could schedule my procedure and they have financing available. I asked what would this cost $3000.00 for 1 tooth!! I said to the women working behind the desk what did I just pay for then? A consultation. $500 dollars to have someone hit my tooth then explain my options? I said you'll never see me again. Here's the kick. I have a private dentist that was going to do the crown. I had x-rays sent to them on my tooth I knew why I was there...Aspen Dental is a thief corporation! Stay clear of them. Find a dentist in your area and avoid Aspen at all cost!!

Positive experience: The wait was ridiculous! People were nice but they were selling me the same treatment plan as my husband. His gums were in much worse shape than mine. The X-rays were awful as I I have extra protruding bones under my tongue.

Fantastic experience: From the sign in to the end of my visit, everyone was great. The woman doing my xrays gave me a great idea to help stop my gag reflex, it was the best dental xray experience I have ever had. The dentist, hygienist, and the others who helped were amazing too. The financial woman was very helpful and nice, the front dest woman was also very nice and helpful. Best dental experience ever.

Positive experience: Had three appointments and a 2-week span for some dental work. Everyone appointment I showed up at least 15 min early and ended up waiting more than 30 minutes after my appointment time because they had overbooked. Other than that, staff was good once you finally saw them, but be prepared to wait.

Negative experience: I went for a broken tooth that is cutting into my mouth. I was offered a 8k solution. They insisted on a 6k scaling before they would correct my tooth. Very dissatified. The dentist I saw was not very interactive.

Negative experience: don’t ever come here ! they will lie to your insurance company about procedures that were done. just had a tooth extracted in june and apparently aspen told my insurance company that it was surgical procedure instead of a basic extraction which is why my insurance didn’t cover for it. they will lie and take every dollar from you. i do not recommend this money hungry dental office.

Negative experience: Incredibly expensive (think TENS OF THOUSANDS) and pushy about upselling, plus they have you waiting forever in the back room and you’re only seen by an actual dentist for 5-10 minutes. Disappointing if you are having a true dental emergency.

Negative experience: What a nightmare. Requested my records from Utica Aspen. X-Rays were taken at Camillus Aspen, but Utica Aspen failed to send X-Rays (I guess Aspen to Aspen can’t talk to each other). New provider reaches out to Camillus but they can’t provide copies of records in less than 10 days without manager approval and a third party to burn a disc and mail it. Requested my records be expedited, spent 40 min on the phone trying to fix it day of my appointment, all to no avail. Had to go out of pocket $160 for a new set of X-Rays because I changed providers and they couldn’t get my records in on time. Stay far far away.

Fantastic experience: Let me just say, I have cleaned my teeth with many different dental hygienists for over 40 years and I have never had a thorough cleaning experience in my life like I had with Melissa at Aspen Dental at Camillus! She was amazing! Very, very professional! I was very impressed with her skills! If you need your teeth sparkling clean, Melissa is the one! She also did my gingivitis cleaning for me, which helped me tremendously and helped my gums feel so much better and less inflamed! I tell you, this woman is amazing at what she does! Thank you Melissa!

Fantastic experience: I had neglected myself for many years and when I needed emergency care, my in-network dentist couldn't see me for 5 months. Aspen got me in for an extraction. The staff was so welcoming and understanding. I didn't feel judged at all. They came up with a comprehensive plan and we've been working our way through it. The dentist I saw was experienced and extracted my tooth without any pain (can you believe it?). Just had my second visit and again, the staff is so welcoming and understanding and accomodating. I cannot recommend this place enough! The hygienist was remarkably thorough and personable. I had a great time? Who says that?! 17 years of dreading and hating a dental visit, to looking forward to my next appointment!!!

Negative experience: Was told all teeth were bad and would need to be fixed in different ways, and gave me a 12.5k quote. I could not get a word in with the dentist, an older man. He just kept saying this is what you need and talking over me. Went and got an evaluation at another dentist amd was told I needed to fix 5 teeth, not all of them! Cost half the price. And much more friendly and nice at the new place. Aspen is a total scam!

Fantastic experience: I was having a problem with one of my back teeth. I called late afternoon on Tuesday and they got me in on Wednesday. I only waited 5 minutes to be called in and everyone was very friendly and professional. Once I saw the dentist for my issue, I was in and out within an hour and very satisfied.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at the Camillus office is friendly and polite. Dr. Finley is very through and takes his time to explain what work is needed, and I need a lot! The front end girls, Jenna and Emily are very helpful giving different payment options and making sure I was comfortable with the option I chose.

Fantastic experience: 5/5 they got me right in, took care of all 4 wisdom teeth, staff was fantastic, primary doctor was very nice (I forgot his name) and Jenna at the front desk was fantastic.

Fantastic experience: I hate going to the dentist, but my feelings aside… the team at Aspen took great care of me. The staff members that I worked with were both friendly and helpful. I had an unexpected emergency and was able to get an appointment scheduled later that morning. I appreciated all that the team did for me.
