Fantastic experience: Dr. Zimmerman and his staff are excellent! Very professional and they are thorough.

Positive experience: Didn't even keep my scans 1 year, causing major inconvenience for me. Tried blaming it on the lab but the lab only works off the scans the dentist takes, so they could easily back up the scans themselves instead of passing blame over to lab. Them trying to pass the buck this way really annoyed me. Also referred me to oral surgeon who botched the surgery. Not nessaerally their fault, but just nothing good at all came form 1000s of dollars and many visits. Left worse than I came.

Fantastic experience: A++ Our entire family goes there for basic cleanings and more. They are great with my 3 kids and work efficiently to get us in and out. They give great advice to catch small things before they get worse and more expensive. Kids never hesitate to go for a check up! (Always a perk)

I would think they would offer some of their elderly customers a discount as we are all on fixed incomes, but still need professional services. Just an idea for the future. Fantastic experience: Dr. Meade was unbelievable today, including his staff. They got me in quickly and with care. They have all the hi-tech equipment, especially the 3d xray machines that caught my infection in my back teeth. Then he pulled them out. I seriously didn't feel the tooth being pulled out. Trust me i have high anxiety and i wasn't nervous once. I felt no pain throughout the process and nothing after more than the usual pain from that procedure. I highly recommend them for any work and for everyone being nice too. 5 Teeth review

The staff is always welcoming and friendly, and I was very happy and satisfied with the dental cleaning I received from my new Dental Hygienist, Emily. She was very competent, friendly, and professional, and I received a very thorough dental cleaning. I really liked the new cleaning method she used using water. Fantastic experience: I had an infected tooth and my body was expelling it by pushing it up. This prevented my other teeth from closing and it was very painful whenever I tried to bite. I called Downton Dental in the afternoon and they got me in at there next available appointment but the dentist, after reviewing the symptoms I had, contrived a way to move my appointment to 8:00 next morning without impacting other treatments. They then called me back to see if I wanted to make the change - I didn’t initiate the call to them - they called me. Oh, yes, I definitely wanted to make the change to the earlier appointment! It was obvious the tooth required extraction and I was very surprised that the dentist could do it immediately. I expected some referral that would take time. I asked him questions about what had happened to the tooth and he answered stating the names of the probable bacteria and how they secrete toxins that cause the problem. He explained why extraction was necessary and noted that it was my decision but this was not a marginal case. I said ok. He numbed my jaw. Then, after carefully checking the numbing effect, he spent extra time numbing my jaw further He described how the degree of infection can sometimes interfere with the numbing. I closed my eyes waiting to feel some pain at the time of the extraction, and kept waiting for it to occur with eyes closed. The dentist had to notify me - still waiting - that the extraction was already over. I was still waiting for it to start. I just felt no indication that it had occurred because of the care he used in checking and adjusting the anesthesia. He then inserted some devices that control bleeding and told me that while I probably didn’t need them he wanted to make sure of healing doubly by adding a stitch. Fine with me! This process was also completely painless. He very carefully explained what to do in the healing process and the office gave me written instructions. I was re-briefed by his assistant. The instructions were simple. The whole process was very efficient and ran like a well oiled machine. I am not sure exactly how long it took but it seemed like at most an hour or so. I had dental insurance but saw that his prices were reasonable and not gauging in any way. The dentist office itself is in an old architectural marvel and I found myself wondering about the architecture instead of the procedure which is unusual as I am dental phobic. Why am I phobic? Because not all, no not even most, of the dental experiences I have had were like this. I have had some friends also use this office and they reported similar experiences.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is a patient of Dr. Zimmerman. Therefore, I was aware from the beginning that I would be quite pleased with my initial office visit. I just moved from CA to NY. Prior to leaving CA, I was in the middle of implant work. Dr. Zimmerman has no problem with picking up where another dentist left off. I’m grateful for that. Reyna, his assistant is patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. I’m blessed to be under Dr. Zimmerman and Reyna’s care. I am certain they will NOT disappoint.

Positive experience: I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because of the very unpleasant receptionist named Ronda. I’ve been going here for years now and unfortunately have to switch because of an insurance change. But the few times I’ve had to call there that woman is just not nice on the phone. Maybe choose a different profession if you aren’t happy there.

Fantastic experience: Downtown Dental is great!!! Dr. Mead and his team are fantastic… Gentle, thorough, compassionate, and understanding. Modern medical technology set in a classic building. I searched for a new dentist for 18 months after my dentist retired, and I’m elated that I found Dr. Mead (and Jeannie, my old dental hygienist).

Negative experience: I didn't manage to get pass the extremely rude receptionist to know if the dentists there are any good. But the lady I talked to on the phone was unpleasant about my case which had to do with a travel emergency. They made absolute sure I felt unwelcome and unwanted because I had to have a tooth semi-treated while out of state, and she heavily implied that they don't want to work on other dentist's work, fine. So I took my business elsewhere where their receptionists were friendly and understanding, and where the dentists are more than willing to work with me. Dental offices are made with a team of people. They may come with very good dentists, but you still need sensible assistants for other tasks, and the receptionist in this office is not it.

Fantastic experience: I have had some hellacious dental experiences, and when I broke my tooth on a Skittle (like a ten year-old), I was genuinely afraid of finding a dentist on short notice. They were able to see me almost immediately, fitted me for a crown, and the dentist and assistant were absolutely lovely. Dr. Zimmerman is terrific. Thanks for the new molar!

Fantastic experience: I am new to the area and chipped my tooth (very minimally) I called another dental office and they told me I would need a crown. I knew this seemed extra so I called downtown dental. They got me in within the week so I could get it looked at. Dr. Mead examined my tooth, fixed it (with a minor filling no need for a crown at all) and I was out within the hour! My tooth looks incredible and I could not be happier with how everything went!

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at downtown dental I was very nervous at first mainly because I didn’t know where the office was and that it was in downtown Syracuse and I don’t go downtown hardly at all, but when I spoke with the girl the receptionist she was very positive About parking and gave me a couple of suggestions to try and made me feel it ease about that And she actually remembered our conversation when I got there and she asked me where I parked and I told her I parked on the street and she said that was great And was able to do that that made me feel good. When I got to see the xray tech who was going to do the x-rays I started to talk to her about my situation with my teeth And she was very supportive. The only thing that happened there was then all of a sudden I had a new technician and that was kind of weird and I had to start talking all over again. The x-ray process was awkward. Sometimes it hurt in my mouth when I had to bite down for them to take the x-ray,. Then I met the doctor and he examined my gums. He was very nice and pleasant and explain the process. Even though I got a difficult diagnosis and it was upsetting. He gave me an explained a treatment plan that we would start working on and that they were able to treat my gum right there in the office. When I went to check out, the receptionist was even more pleasant and gave me a lot of options to choose from for finance after my insurance paid. I even wound up purchasing the water pic from the office. she explained how I needed to use it , and I have three follow up appointments coming up and am in a cancellation list. I am hopeful that I will be able to treat my gums and get them heathy with the help of downtown dental. I will recommend this office to others and have already recommended it to Family. Thank you so much for all that you do. So yesterday was my second visit and I had the right side of my Mouth done. This one hurt a little bit more because I have to have a lot lot of more work to be done on my teeth once my gums are healthy. The technician that did the procedure was so gentle. A couple of times I did feel it but that was to be expected. And on top of it she lasured a cold soar that I had on the upper part of my mouth! I didn’t know that that could be fixed with Laser treatment! This time I was only there for an hour. Although my mouth was Swollen until about 7 o’clock that night I was able to eat after that time. I feel much Better this morning. I must say that there seem to be a problem with the parking Meter, it took forever for it to Take my payment that didn’t happen the first time Overall,, Downtown Dental is a wonderful Dental Office and I would recommend them to anyone. They are my new dentist for sure! Thank you everyone and a special thank you to the Technician that did my mouth both times And the receptionist, they were both wonderful. Fantastic experience: The staff is amazing, I can’t imagine going any place else for dental needs, they take their time and explain every step, making sure I was a comfortable before any procedure. The Dr conversed and remembered who I was and were I worked, not moving me in and out like cattle like so many medical office do these days! Wouldn’t think to go anywhere else ever!

Fantastic experience: 6/27/24 Back for scheduled orthodontic appointment. Office was busy but we were in on time and Rayna got right to it. We had 2 loose brackets, a loose tooth with a bracket, an expander with "anchors" that had loosen and needed new "bumpers" put in. Dr. Z was in and out as needed but demeanor was positive and focused with us. Even with humor added which my 9 yr old enjoyed. Continue to recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Needed help for excruciating pain on a Saturday morning of Father's Day weekend and Dr. Zimmerman came through to help me. Can't ask for more than that from a dental team. They make sure they are available for emergencies of their patients. And I would wager they would be available for anyones emergency regardless if they were an established patient. The best.

Fantastic experience: My mother had the appointment. She is 89 and has dementia. Paula is her usual dental hygienist. This was a cancellation appt and was told we would have Nancy. It worked out that another patient rescheduled and got Paula , which is not her regular hygienist, so the office did a seitceroo. My mother and I were so appreciative. My mother feels safe and comfortable with her. True kindness is always given to my mother and a 10percent discount was also applied to our visit. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: They office is clean and has beautiful architecture. The staff are nice. They are personable and make you feel less anxious while you're being worked on. Most importantly, I went in with pain and left without pain. I called with emergency level tooth pain and they got me in the next week. The only downside is I have to pay out of pocket and had a hard time finding the building that the office is in, but the dentist is worth it. He made sure I was okay and not in pain from the time he did the novacaine shots all the way through and assured me if I wasn't numb or was in discomfort, he would administer more or do whatever I needed. I will 100% be returning and recommending!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I went for my scheduled check, and as usual Everyone was friendly and helpful. The cleaning and check was thorough, and gentle. Plans for some maintenance were made, with the staff helping me understand the insurance coverage. Have been a patient for a very long time now and very happy to be so.

Fantastic experience: I saved money for months so I could come back to the practice after a period of absence so I could take advantage of the excellent dental care. Before that, I was left with dental care for those with Medicaid. I felt it was substandard.

Then his office workers went out of their way to help me plan out the payment of the plan we chose and made appointments and had me on my way quickly. Positive experience: First time there. Was very clear when I made appointment that I was in for consultation. Unfortunately they didn’t get that right and tried to do full treatment as new patient. I was there for for less then 15 minutes and they charged me $130 to refer me to another dentist.
