Fantastic experience: I've been with Kevin for about 3 years now, and have had 2 fillings and countless cleanings. The level of professionalism and care is unmatched. The 2 fillings I've had have been the most relaxing experience with fillings I've ever had. My most recent filling, I didn't feel a thing! The cleanings are always very comfortable and thorough, and I especially love that everyone is willing to educate me on my teeth. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: This is the kind of place you’ll want to visit even on your birthday! Dr. Shively is friendly, approachable, and actually takes the time to talk through your options. I came in for crowns and a bridge and was pretty nervous, but he addressed all my concerns and made sure I understood everything before we started. The whole staff creates a really comfortable, supportive environment where it feels easy to ask questions. Misty and Christina at the front were incredibly helpful, kind, and made the logistics easy. Eunice was so sweet! I love her banter with Dr. Shively. During the procedure, Frances became my bestie with just the right amount of humor when you’re trying not to think about what’s happening. I genuinely don’t dread going to the dentist here. It’s easy to laugh with the staff, and the music is always great (I keep forgetting to ask what Spotify playlist they use). I recommend Dr. Shively and his team to anyone who will listen. Only caveat—fact-check him if he tells you a celebrity has died.

Fantastic experience: We are fairly new to the area after living in East Texas 30 plus years, so finding a dentist was a priority. My husband found Kevin Shively on the internet, read the reviews, so we made an appointment. I had a tooth that broke off at the base and it sounded like my only option was having it pulled or a bridge made as it was in the front of my mouth. Not only did he make it work with the base, a crown will take its place! I also had 3 root canals and another crown done. Im 67, so I opted not to have dentures. I experienced no pain during or after with these procedures which was all done in one day. Not only did he make it comfortable for me, he explained everything in detail before he did it. He and his asssistant worked together so smoothly, they were both on the same page, consistently. His entire staff was exceptional. I cannot brag enough on Dr. Shively. I would highly recommend him to anyone, of all ages!!!

Fantastic experience: I don't even know where to start. Dr. Shively, without a doubt, changed my life. My smile was broken and I tried to hide it every day. It's all I would think about when around others, even my own family. I smiled with my teeth hidden and even tried to talk the same way. My confidence was low and it affected me every single day. His COMPASSION and care for his patients changed ALL of that. I find myself smiling ALL of the time, often for no reason or to just look at my teeth and I talk to anyone who will listen. I have the pep in my step back!! I will forever be grateful for Dr. Shively. I also have high anxiety related to dental work but he has a very calming manor and way of explaining everything that put mind at ease. His assistants and office staff are also top notch and compassionate and I wouldn't go anywhere else. HIGHLY recommended!

I normally do not like teeth cleaning, maybe that's because I haven't had the best care or treatment. Normally I feel like some places are to rough and or to rushed. Or if they tell you something extra you may need with out explaining to as why. But NOT with this Dr's office! I really enjoyed the teeth cleaning. I wasn't gaged with the X rays. I was explained as to why I may need a extra procedure. Very friendly staff. Everyone is so joyful and just welcoming. I really do recommend this place.

Oh and did I mention that he sings as he is doing his job. He has a great voice and a kool sense of humor, which really helps you stay relaxed when having your teeth worked on! Fantastic experience: I had severe tooth pain over this past weekend. I called Dr. Shively’s office first thing Monday morning and they were able to get me right in for examination and treatment that same morning as a new patient! They were very friendly and really helped me out. Dr. Shively explained everything and addressed my concerns thoroughly (including some post op concerns I had as well). They will be my dentist for the next 4 years as I do my PhD at Tech!

Fantastic experience: I had a crown that became detached, and needed to be examined and re-attached. Dr Shively was not in the office; however one of his terrific technicians was able to re-set the crown, so it could be examined by Dr Shively at a later date. This was all accomplished on very short notice...I called in the morning, and the crown was re-set in the afternoon. Truly exceptional service!

Fantastic experience: On the recommendation of Dr. Ure at Blue Sky Orthodontics we switched our kiddos to Dr. Shively for dentistry. Following our very first appointment with our 7 year old we needed an emergency visit after she was complaining of severe tooth pain... she ended up needing an extraction on an infected tooth and to say their entire team and staff were patient with us in an understatement. Our poor girl got very distraught and scared toward the beginning of the procedure and proceeded to -for lack of any better words- completely lose her mind and Dr. Shively was beyond patient and so caring with her. I'm so sorry to all the other patients in his office this morning because I'm sure her screams did not make your experience the best, but we were so impressed with everyone for their patience and understanding all the way to the front desk. We surely appreciate it and are looking forward to establishing our family here.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a great experience at Dr. Shively’s office for both routine dental cleanings and more extensive treatments like a root canal. Dr. Shively is patient, has a great positive attitude, and always explains the purpose of each procedure before starting. One experience that really stood out was when I had a dental emergency around 10–11am about two months ago. The pain became unbearable, so I called and texted during their lunch hour. Misty was polite, helpful, and managed to fit me into the same-day schedule. Dr. Shively performed a root canal for me in between his established appointments. Even though the clinic closes at 5 p.m., he stayed until about 5:30 to finish the procedure. What impressed me most was that, at the end of what was likely a very busy day, he was not rushed and paid close attention to every detail. That level of care and work ethic is rare and much appreciated. It’s like a miracle that I was in excruciating pain and then feels no pain at all by the end of the same day. I’ve referred friends to this office and will likely switch my family to Dr. Shively for our routine dental care.

Going to the dentist makes me anxious, they were patient and understanding (and even lent me a stress ball to squeeze). They explain everything from beginning to finish and answer any questions or concerns you may have. They take the time and really listen to you and address your concerns and your experience. I live in New Mexico and travel an hour and a half just to see these wonderful people. I highly recommend them!
