Dr Smith and his team took care of it along with made a referral for another issue I needed additional attention for. Everyone in the office is so kind and helpful. Dr Smith is straightforward but also wants to help you as much as possible. My dental health and knowledge has vastly improved thanks to this dentistry.

Very professional office with the latest equipment, gifted dentists who are continually studying new advances in dentistry: top notch hygienists and dental surgery personnel; a front office skilled in the day to day work of checking patients in and out, making appointments etc plus employees with specialized knowledge of dental insurance contracts, costs, billing, etc. All this coupled with attention to each patient’s needs and a friendly personalized atmosphere. He is transparent and very honest. The treatment plans and options he proposed are always down-to-earth and effective and cost-effective at the same time. My hygienist is Ms. Janet. You can not find any better one than her. She is very thorough and takes her time to get the cleaning done correctly. She impressed me greatly with the fact that she uses labor some manual tools to produce the best result. Now a days many hygienists already took a easier way of using the ultrasonic waterpik. Fantastic experience: Tempe Family Dentistry is a fabulous practice. My husband and I decided to travel 3 hrs to the Valley to find a top notch dentist, and it was absolutely worth the drive. From my first contact with Jennifer on the phone, I had a great feeling about this practice. She is warm, professional and accommodating. Our experience with our hygienists (Karen and Janet) were wonderful. They are both very experienced, gentle and thorough. We agree they are the best ever! Dr Smith impressed us with his enthusiasm and attention to detail during our exams. It was a long appointment, but Dr. Smith was incredibly patient, reassuring, and gentle throughout the entire process. This treatment is a big investment, but they’ve been very respectful of my budget without ever compromising quality. First Review. So far, so good — Dr. Smith and his team truly stand out! I first visited Dr. Smith about a year after moving to Arizona — that was 7 years ago. I stopped going for a while only because the office was a bit far from where I lived, but recently, I decided to come back. That alone says a lot, considering I’ve tried other dentists closer to me, and none of them came close to the experience I had with Dr. Smith. I suffer from severe dental anxiety and past trauma, so visiting a dentist is never easy for me. But Dr. Smith’s bedside manner is truly exceptional — calm, patient, and reassuring. He makes me feel completely at ease, which is something I can’t say about many dental professionals. He never makes me feel embarrassed or rushed, even when my situation feels overwhelming. Right now, I’m in the early stages of my treatment, and Dr. Smith has been working closely with me and the lab to make sure everything fits within my budget. He’s been very reassuring about keeping things affordable, and I’m hopeful that continues to be the case as we move forward. The staff had also been amazing; very friendly! So, although my treatment hasn’t been completed yet, I already felt compelled to share how positive my experience has been so far. I’ll definitely update this review once everything is done — but for now, I can confidently say I’m so glad I returned to Dr. Smith’s care.

Fantastic experience: great advise on crown--instead of pulling the molar - my other crowns are beautiful -- the whole mouth was done 2 years ago --this molar was in back and has just started sensitivity to cold and hot.

Fantastic experience: Dr Smith and his staff go out of their way to make sure I’m comfortable during all of my dental appointments. He will then tell me which teeth I either need to watch or take action soon and why. I just finished with them straightening my teeth and they did a super job! They turned out better than when I had braces in my teens!! And it was super reasonable too.

Negative experience: Your office is a mad house. It was so loud, the ladies were all talking at once, to each Other and my room was very dirty. My hygienist dropped my x-ray holder twice, then hit my lip which started bleeding and also cut the roof Of my mouth with the hard x-ray. I have a very small mouth (tiny) and she did not make any precautions or asked me if she could do something else to help me. She just ripped That x-ray out of my mouth. Leslie odell

Fantastic experience: I wish I had gone to Tempe Family Dentistry years ago. I don't have great teeth. I'm 72 with some crowns an implant and a fair amount of gum problems. All the dentist I had been going to would do was tell me to clean, crown and tell me to go to a periodontist. I had complained that no teeth on my left side worked for chewing. He finally 'fired' me cause I wouldn't go to a periodontist. Enter Dr. Gifford... What a difference! She was happy to see me and she had a solution to my left side problem. She suggested extracting a tooth that was USELESS. OMG... the other dentist wouldn't extract a tooth ever... he sent me to an oral surgeon ($$$$) for that. Dr. Gifford said we might be able to save the next forward molar. AND suggested she could do something to make my bite better! She was sooooo nice, compassionate and doesn't mind having folks without perfect teeth. Janet the hygienist was great too and Jennifer at the front desk is a joy. I'm so glad I finally found a dentist that will take care of my imperfect teeth... and me. PS I can't wait to get rid of that useless tooth. It hung in space and crept lower ever since the lower molar was extracted.

I got a cold and was not about to make an appointment and they were very accommodating and had me scheduled the next week. Fantastic experience: Dr. Smith is an exceptional dentist who has transformed my smile and dental health. With extensive experience and expertise, he carefully considers his patient's needs and the potential issues for various treatment options. When I first visited Dr. Smith at the age of 43, I had a mix of outdated dental work, including 20 root canals and caps, which didn't fit well together. Unlike previous dentists, Dr. Smith listened to my concerns and devised a comprehensive two-year plan to revamp my dental work. He has replaced eight caps so far, providing the most comfortable, best-fitting, and aesthetically pleasing dental work I've ever had. His office staff is top-notch, and the accounting department maximized my insurance coverage. Dr. Smith offers the highest quality work at the lowest cost, and I plan to stay with him until all my teeth fall out.

Danielle verified a problem before looking in my mouth. Brenda solved a problem taking x-ray's and explained what she was doing at every step. Dr. Smith told me of more than one problem, what he would do to fix each one and even confided that a specialist might be advisable in one instance. I'll go with him doing the work! My wife, Beverly, was equally impressed enough to schedule an appointment, cancelling with our previous dentist. We're so glad that we were referred by friends. Fantastic experience: I had a great cleaning today. The hygienist was gently and thorough. She explained where my trouble spots are and how to keep them clean. She also showed be how to use the floss and small brushes. My teeth are clean and healthy!

Fantastic experience: I am fearful when it comes to dental work and the appointments… I got to see Dr. Gifford my last 2 visits, and I was so pleasantly surprised! I had a cavity filled unexpectedly and felt no discomfort with getting numb and my experience was so good! I saw Dr Gifford again just yesterday, and my experience with her was, AWESOME! Fantastic experience: I had another excellent experience at Tempe Family Dentistry. They took X-rays and cleaned my teeth without any pain. It was quite easy on Tuesday. I also met the new dentist who checked everything before I left. I will definitely be returning to fix two of my teeth.

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit today with Michael Smith DMD and all I can say is FINALLY! The whole staff was amazing from the second I arrived to walking out the door, all smiles. My hygienist Danielle was super nice, informative, and did an amazing job. I actually SAW the dentist at my appointment, which has been taking me forever to experience since I moved here, and he was the best. 10/10 recommend.

Negative experience: 1. Did not like the way Smith spoke to me over having a crown or not crown . 2. Did not like quality of workmanship on last 2 fillings 3. Did not like the fact I was not brought up to date on my cavities despite multiple X-rays in the past 2 years. I give it 2 stars for good experience I had with the staff and front desk. Else it is a 1 star from me.

That they have been around almost as long as I have says a lot about the sense of family. Dr Smith is a relative newcomer to the practice having been around for only ten years or so. He has brought a wealth of technology, a lovely convenient location and modern approaches to dentistry while keeping the calm and welcoming atmosphere. He takes the time to discuss any and all concerns and explains things thoroughly and understandably. He has a positive outlook and a reassuring manner. I love the opportunity to recommend him and his staff.
