Negative experience: Nancy was condescending and confused on why I was calling for a cleaning and assuming that couldn't be the right reason for my call. That and getting confused on me being a new client despite asking for an intake. I would have left it at that with no review but them calling back twice shows they can't let it be and realize they were being unprofessional and I wouldn't want their services at this point.

Positive experience: Hygenist little rough when using suction. Will have to make another appt as the filling is sharp in one spot

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist has never been a problem for me. The Dr here is amazing! Always happy, funny, friendly and honest. They have always been so kind and respectful. Today was a little different as the nurse didn’t seem to be very friendly even though I came in a little overwhelmed. Also, the cleaning wasn’t the most gentle and it usually is. It was so fast like she just wanted to be done. I was a little sad but I know people are human and have days that aren’t the best so it doesn’t change how much I love this place. I would recommend them to anyone and I have. I always appreciate the time and them for taking care of my teeth. Thanks.

Positive experience: the visit itself was fine..its the process that pissed me off. The initial contact that implied I was looking for a free service from dentist .. saying. "we don't do this for free". I never asked for anything free... SHE is the one that mentioned a coupon..I only asked for the price of the service.. so the condescending, rude unprofessional response from her ruined my entire day... therefore I was pissed upon arrival.. But for being pissed at her... I can tell the dentist is excellent.

Fantastic experience: Dental Hygienist Sue was so kind, caring, professional and thorough. She took the time to review my health history and ask about any changes with dental history but also my overall health. Sue was attentive and actually listened to my reply. She performed the most thorough oral cancer screening I have ever had. I’m elderly so I have had many in my lifetime. Sue checked to make sure I was doing okay during the entire dental cleaning process. Any type of dental/ medical procedure can be difficult as I get older and it’s a true gift when you are lucky enough to have someone that goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease. Front office support were also very helpful on scheduling another appt before the end of the year. That is not a small feat this time of the year! Thank you Arizona Family Dental!

Linda has been my dental hygienist and I usually see Dr. Karren. Both of whom I have the utmost confidence in to solve any problems and make sure preventative exams are completed as needed... I highly recommend Arizona family dental. Just had my dental exam & unfortunately Linda has retired but my visit went well. Dr. Karren and his staff always go out of their way to accommodate me. Yesterday, I called and explained that I was experiencing some tooth discomfort. I was able to see Dr. Karren within a couple of hours. This is the kind of excellent care I have come to expect and continue to receive. Dr. Karren always takes the time to fully explain what needs to be done and how he is going to do it. I truly appreciate this excellent, thorough approach. In addition, he is a great dentist and a terrifiic, caring person. He is genuinely interested in his patients and I always enjoy our conversations. Negative experience: CAUTION!!! Be aware, all new patients and existing patients. This Arizona Family Dental has gone downhill within the last 4 years and they will code your visit to your insurance company however they want to get more money from your insurance and on top of that they will ask you to pay them even more out of pocket before you leave their office. They have been charging me additional money for years for cleaning even though it was a semi annual cleaning. I was a patient in this office for about 10 years with a very good hygienist by the name of Linda and she did an excellent job every time I went there and she was also very welcoming. Last year I made an appointment for a dental cleaning, they gave me an appointment with a woman by the name of YaYa? She had a terrible attitude with me and my wife. Upon seeing her in the waiting room, she just calls out my name and says follow me without even introducing herself or her title and we go into the X-ray room to take X-rays and finally tells me to sit in the dental chair. At this point I still do not know who my hygienist is until she puts on a dental bib on me and then I ask her who will be cleaning my teeth? She responded "I will ''. I asked her who are you and what is your title? I was hoping that it wouldn't be her as her attitude was horrible.A couple months after that I came back to see the dentist "Dr. Karren '' for a crown and so his assistant put in a temporary crown and I did tell them that I am leaving for a 2 week vacation and coming back for a followup after 2 weeks. The temporary crown fell off before I even got to my vehicle before leaving their office. Even though they are in network with my insurance company as my insurance company told me that they pay 100% for cleaning. I should not pay anything out of pocket for cleaning but they tell me that I would get special cleaning treatment. they still charge me. This last visit I asked for just a regular cleaning when I arrived at their office instead of this whatever special cleaning treatment, The woman that takes the money "Loren" tells me that the patient can not decide what kind of cleaning he or she can choose and tells me that this it would be at the discretion of the hygienist of the dentist. I asked Loren, at this point, you can't tell me how much more it will cost just for regular cleaning that I choose? Her answer was No! They like to dig into your pockets and take whatever money you have. All of the cleaning that I had done in the past was just normal cleaning. My wife and I are definitely not going back here again. Dr. Karren and Dr..Badyal, As 10 year patient, I am sorry to post this negative review but I will not be a sucker for your office anymore and please understand that your staff does have a poor attitude that you must work on to improve and make it a more welcoming visit for your patients.

Fantastic experience: My appointment started on time for my Invisalign ‘restart/resume’. He discussed the plan with me, answered all of my questions during my visit and scheduled my follow up prior to me leaving. During the changing of my buttons on my teeth he made sure to check that I was doing ok. I received an apt card prior to leaving and later a text reminder. Have been going here for over 10 years and always a great experience from the front desk team through checkout.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Karren for about a little over 6 months now. This place is exceptional. Since I've gotten out of the military (5 years ago) I've gone to three dentists. This is definitely the best. In addition to maintaining a personable and professional attitude, Dr. Karren clearly communicates what is happening throughout your appointment. The dental technicians and front office staff are great as well. I believe transparency is key when it comes to billing. Here they accept various forms of payment and costs are clearly communicated. In my experience all costs have been reasonable. My previous dentist approached billing as a choose your own adventure story where all outcomes lead to you living in a van down by the river. All in all, this place is great if you're looking for a new dentist.

Dr. Karren is knowledgeable and friendly, always taking a few moments to ask about my family and how things have been going in work and life. In addition, all of the hygienists, and all of the staff have always been amazingly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I don't plan on ever going anywhere else if I can help it.

My husband and I have been going to Arizona Family Dental for about 10-15 years now, and I honestly can't say enough about how much I absolutely love this dental practice overall, and especially Dr. Karren. Although I doubt that few people ever truly want to go to the dentist, I'm so blessed to have found one that makes the experience so stress-free on every single visit. Everyone from the front office staff, to the dental assistants, to Dr. Karren himself are always extremely personable, and they clearly love what they do. Although my experience with other medical professionals in general has been that they tend to rush you in and out, Dr. Karren has always taken the time to interact on both a personal level to put me at ease and to truly understand any specific concerns that I have. In fact, on my very first visit so many years ago, what struck me the most was that when he came into the room, his first words were something to the effect of "I know you're here because a specific issue, but let's chat for a few minutes first to get to know each other before getting to that." That was such a reassuring and kind first impression, and the work he did after that was also excellent, followed by the same genuinely caring treatment every time since then, so I honestly can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Also, not only Dr. Karren, but every hygienist I've worked with over the years has always been extremely gentle, knowledgeable, and skilled regarding any actual dental work that they ended up performing. They also have an interesting concept regarding routine cleanings that I've never seen at any of my prior dentists, which is the ability to make the appointment based on a specific hygienist vs. only the dentist, which totally makes sense for that sort of appointment, since they're who you ultimately spend the most time with. Apologies for what has turned into a very long and rambling review, but I seriously meant it when I said that I can never say enough good things about this practice to even remotely convey how exceptional it is. I would highly recommend them to everyone, and my only regret is that I can't give them more than 5 stars - LOL!

Fantastic experience: I had a pleasant experience at this dentist. I came in for a new patient exam and cleaning in February and was cared for promptly at the scheduled time. My hygenist Corrina did an excellent job removing the tarter on my bottom front teeth and my toothaches have gone away since I got the cleaning. I was also given good tips on flossing and toothpaste recommendations as well.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Arizona Family Dental for 7 years to get my teeth cleaned. They are just flat out honest. I asked about teeth whitening and Invisalign. The answer, the color of your teeth is fine and you really only have two small gaps. Dr. Brett Karren explained the options, He said the gaps I have are normal and I trust him fully. I respect him as a medical professional and his personal views. I would be his friend if our social circles intertwined. The staff is also amazing from the moment you enter the door you feel at home. I drive 40 minutes one way to see them. They are worth the drive.
