Positive experience: I had an appointment to get checked up and to decide the course of action on my teeth. Had full surround x rays done and then individual ones. The tech checked all my teeth , took pictures and questioned me about teeth and health. Then had my visit with the dentist and we decided what to do. Set up appointments and how much things would cost. I didn’t write that but it is pretty accurate. The staff even jumped in to get my pictures of my teeth done earlier than expected. Now let’s go to my appointment to have work done. Everyone went above and beyond to take care of me. The girl in there that assisted in my procedure ( sorry I don’t have her name ) she worked super hard taking care of several rooms and patients. They were short handed, several out sick. She was literally running between rooms. Yet when in my room she gave total attention. If they can take care of patients being that short handed think of how much better it could be when fully staffed

I have had bad experiences with other Dentist around town in the past, but I have finally found the best place with advanced dentistry, highly skilled dentist and staff helping me out in my older years. I had a tooth pulled, and three fillings. compared to the others, I will look no further. You won't be sorry.

Fantastic experience: I had a cavity filled a couple of weeks ago and it needed a little adjustment. So I called Monday morning and they had me in by 12:30. Did the adjustment and all good now. No charge of course. These guys are awesome.

Fantastic experience: I am a loyal Dr Awtrey patient for many years. I tried switching dentist when Abilene Family Dentistry stopped taking delta dental I had a horrible experience elsewhere. I will gladly pay out of pocket to maintain my care here. Dr Awtrey is conservative with care and doesn’t up sell treatment. He also listens well and has an excellent bedside manner. The hygienist have all been great. Appointments are punctual and timely.

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience at Abilene Family Dentistry North. I came in on June 17 with a broken and bleeding front tooth, expecting urgent care. All they did was take one X-ray — no treatment, no cleaning, not even basic help to stop the bleeding. Then they charged me $138, claiming it was an “evaluation,” even though I made it very clear I couldn’t afford the $5,379 they quoted and did not agree to any paid service. I received no care, no diagnosis, and no value — just a bill I never consented to. This feels like fraud, not healthcare. I am requesting a full refund and hope the clinic takes this seriously. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The people there are super. The techs are great. As are the girls up front. And Adam the dentist that saw me was wonderful. They all were super and made us feels like friends, not patients. Recommend them absolutely.!!!!

Positive experience: Abilene Family Dentistry North [Review]: Reception staff friendly and professional, efficient in scheduling appointments & modern in ability to provide notification prior to scheduled appointment time thru text message. Facility proves recent technology regarding equipment used in X-Ray and preliminary examination procedures. Dental Assistants are incredibly helpful & very friendly. Dental Assistants are experienced and knowledgeable in procedures and clearly explain what the procedure will entail. Dr. Awtrey performed the [numbing injection] procedure in a manner that resulted in less than imagined discomfort. Very grateful for the entire staff at Abilene Family Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: Very nice people. They were very personable and caring. I didn't feel rushed. Dr. Awtry was very gentle and even the shots don't hurt. They numb your gum with numbing cream. Positive experience: I would have rated it 5 stars as the dental assistant and Dr. Awtrey are THE BEST; however, waiting in a dental chair for 45 minutes is unacceptable. My experience with the front office was not the best and I hope next time, they are a bit more compassionate instead of telling me "it's a doctor's office". The office manager along with Dr. Awtrey both apologized & assured me they would work on improving. I will definitely return.

Negative experience: Our family of six were cancelled as patients here after 10+ years due to my negative Google review instead of a conversation with us. I received a certified letter in the mail yesterday. Apparently negative Google reviews matter over actual problem solving. We received great service here, but scheduling with them was very frustrating for us. According to their letter it was due to continued disrespect. Interesting, since this review is the only form of "disrespect" that has ever been given toward them, and we have been nothing but kind in person. Best wishes. We will continue care at Southwest Dental. Very family friendly there. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Kali was able to schedule me with Dr. Awtrey the day of as a New Patient/Walk In for an extraction I needed asap. Dr. Awtrey was extremely patient, kind and took his time to make sure I was comfortable during the entire process. Highly recommend this office! Kali and Dr. Awtrey made the whole process less stressful and comforting!

Negative experience: I called days in advance to see if my insurance was accepted. I was told yes. I get to the appointment & is told by front office if your insurance isn’t in network is that ok if we bill you for services. In my head I think but you told me my insurance is accepted so of course whatever isn’t covered then I’ll pay. I get my teeth examined, cleaned & go to check out & get told my total is $175. What happened to my insurance? I was told by staff “this is why we asked if your insurance didn’t cover you would pay & oh by the way we’re not in your network” I would have canceled the appointment from the get go knowing this when I got there. I was not happy knowing any of this. Of course I will pay my balance. Any dr office I’ve ever gone to insurance is verified before the appointment. Before the patient even shows up to the office. Will not be returning
