Fantastic experience: I hate going to the dentist. However my recent experience at Bighorn Family has me feeling great! Last week Dr. Galyardt and Megan prepared my tooth for a crown. During the procedure, Dr. G asked me if I had a “food collection” problem between the tooth to be crowned and the next one forward. I said “ith ben problematic” (translated is it’s been problematic). He said I’m going take care of that right now… and now it’s fixed! Good service, good folks and I won’t go anywhere else!

Negative experience: All business, no empathy. I had a disappointing experience with this dental office. I didn’t realize at first that my insurance was out of network, but I continued going because I thought the doctor seem very experienced. Later, when I needed a replacement crown (from work done by another dentist years ago), I was quoted $2,800. I have two insurances, but the office could not tell me what my actual out-of-pocket cost would be, nor would they attempt a pre-approval. They told me I had to be prepared to pay the full $2,800. To compare, I called another dentist office that is in network, and the dentist and I let this dental office know. A few days later, I received a letter saying I was no longer welcome as a patient. I was considering coming back in the future once I switched to a different insurance. This made it clear to me that the office is more focused on business than on patient care. Dental work is expensive, and patients deserve transparency and support—not dismissal for asking questions and wanting to prepare.

Negative experience: I can't speak to their dental care quality, but this dental office is very unusual - and not in a good way. If you inquire about pricing, or hint at getting comparative treatment quotes they seemingly get annoyed. I was not able to get a useful price estimate in a timely manner and definitely did not feel welcome.

Negative experience: The doctors here are knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely care about their patients, I have no complaints about the quality of their work. Unfortunately, the overall experience is overshadowed by the corporate side of this clinic. Everything feels driven by money first and care second. There is constant upselling, pressure to approve extra procedures, and billing practices that don’t always feel transparent. It’s disappointing, because the medical staff deserves much better support. If you come here, you’ll likely receive good treatment, but be prepared for a very “business first, patient second” environment. Also please pay attention that most of their positive reviews are from accounts with 1 or 2 reviews, mostly certain family and friends and people that don't leave reviews ever.

Negative experience: Sorry, but I’m exhausted with this whole insurance scam/lottery system. A couple of weeks ago I went in for treatment and the answer was basically: “It might be $100, or maybe it’s not covered at all, and could be $3,500, who knows?” Like seriously, I’m just supposed to have $4k sitting around for a random invoice? The only way to even get close to a real number is to ask for the ADA procedure code, then call your insurance with that code (and the practice info) to find out what’s actually covered. And even then, they can still run it under a different code later or tack on something extra that isn’t covered. This has to stop. It’s 2025, and somehow our health system feels worse than in some developing countries. They should be required to provide final, transparent costs upfront. Imagine going to a mechanic and being told: “It could be $100 or $3,500, you’ll only find out after we’re done, and whatever it is, you have to pay or we’ll come after you.” Don’t get me wrong, the doctors here are truly great. But I'm, tired of everyone acting like this is normal.

Dr. Harrison explained the situation very well, this was going to be more of a process than a one time visit. They were able to do a temporary fix until I return home in 3 weeks.
