I have some major work to be done on a few teeth and they put a plan together for the needed treatment. My former dentist never suggested these treatments thus the reason for changing dentist.

Negative experience: Edit: after reading the many many other negative reviews I will also say I experience predatory behavior as after my first cleaning the doctor recommended I get a crown which I thought was intense as I stay on schedule with leanings and such. It was a very expensive procedure and I am seeing a lot of other reviews saying how often patients are being told they need these extremely expensive procedures with little to no reasoning. I have been a patient for about 3 years, and recently things have gone extremely down hill. I would not recommend coming here. The front desk scheduling staff is incredibly difficult to work with - I am constantly met with confusing, rude, and apathetic interactions. I have struggled with TMJ my whole life, and per recommendation from Dr. Nassar I made the costly investment for Invisalign treatment. I felt during the initial discussion my questions weren’t answered with assurance so I followed up and was able to meet with Dr. Nassar again who gave wishy-washy answers to my questions again. But after being in pain my whole life I decided to move forward with the treatment. The hygienist showed me the little fasteners that we’re going to go on my teeth and on the model they were in the molars, and it was never explained to me that they would be on my front teeth. Surprise! Within the first week three of my fasteners fell off (I’m sure they’re gonna say this is standard) and when I went back to get them on they’re not even putting the other one back on because it’s on a crown, and they couldn’t clearly answer my question of what that means for my treatment if that fastener isn’t there. Dr Nassar also had to file in between my teeth and now where it has been filed is a food pocket and extremely sensitive and upset gum. When I went back to get the fasteners on again and have them look at the issue with my gums the doctor didn’t even come to see me or check on my gums. Ultimately I don’t know what’s going on in the office but it seems there is just constant miscommunication between Doctor and staff and between staff and schedulers, I am constantly being asked questions that should have clear answers if they just look in my chart or appointment notes. I cannot wait to be done with Invisalign so I can leave this practice.

Fantastic experience: The staff - front desk, hygienist and the dentist - were very thorough and forthcoming. I got detailed information on what needed to be done and how it would be done. Most importantly, measures were recommended based on medical reasons but I never felt pressured to get anything done. I really felt that it was up to me to decide. Everyone was polite, respectful and friendly. The facility was beautiful and clean. Definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: This was my first appointment with Dental Care of Riverbend. I had some questions about the condition of my teeth, and what needed to be done to keep them in good condition. Both the Dentist and the Hygienist took great care to answer all my questions and talk me through everything. I can't recommend them enough for communication and making the transition to their care as easy as possible.

Fantastic experience: Our experience with Mrs. Alisha was absolutely amazing! Our son had been so scared and nervous about going to the dentist after a difficult procedure when he was younger, that he completely refused to go. I spoke with Alisha beforehand, and she kindly came out to meet our son. She patiently showed him everything that would happen during the cleaning and explained it in a way that made him feel safe and comfortable. Her kindness and patience were beyond anything we could have hoped for. By the end of the cleaning, he smiled and said, “I love the dentist now, Mom!”

Negative experience: Completely subpar and disorganized office. I called several weeks ago to confirm my upcoming appointment and they told me it had been canceled because the dentist was going to a conference that day. Um, okay, when were you going to tell me? Had to scramble to find a different dentist office. Then they called me today, the day of my original appointment, to say hey, are you coming in today? Uh no, you canceled on me! I had one cleaning here and it was one of the most half-hearted cleanings I've ever had. Hygienists weren't gentle or thorough. Also should have been a red flag when the dentist came in wearing extreme religious headwear—I need healthcare providers who actually believe in science and modernity and don't subscribe to ancient patriarchal religious nonsense.

Negative experience: Where to begin? I'm giving this office two stars ONLY because there are good hygienists who work here who have been kind and helpful. But we will not be going back as a family. This site told my daughter that she needed a crown to go over a filling she had that was cracked. It surprised me because my daughter has never had a cavity or filling before. A crown seems like a big leap. This is my child who takes such good care of her teeth. She actually flosses daily for real and used to take floss to slumber parties as a child--she's that faithful! She got a second opinion yesterday, and they confirmed that she's never had a cavity or filling in that tooth. They said she has deeper than normal grooves in her teeth and had a coating of some sort put on at one time to help prevent cavities and decay. That did ring a bell for me. They said that the coating just needs replacing or something that is very minor. A crown isn't needed, and they took new x-rays and said the tooth was fine underneath and not affected at all. They offered to fix it on the spot. I was grateful that the second opinion site took the extra care to listen to her when she said she'd never had a cavity or filling there and didn't jump to conclusions about some extensive procedure. A crown is not cheap and it alters her tooth for the rest of her life! She's so young. The other situation was my own and happened two months ago. That was the first event that had me rethinking our care here. My daughter's situation just sealed the deal. I saw the doctor after a cleaning. She mentioned I should consider Invisalign specifically for one of my bottom teeth. She said it would help me with my "teeth sensitivity" and crowding as I age. I don't know how straightening teeth affects sensitivity but whatever. I mentioned that I have two kids in college and that was not high on my financial list this year. [If I was being honest there is a whole long list of things I need or want more than trying to alter one bottom tooth that is fine.] My no should have been it. INSTEAD, she proceeds to tell me that I could model taking good care of myself to my kids by spending this money on Invisalign! I couldn't believe it. I think that is stepping over a line when someone tells you what kind of better parent they think you can be---especially when they will financially benefit from that decision. Give me a break. I think I'm modeling good parenting by providing them a secondary education. What nerve! It just didn't sit well with me. Then my daughter's situation happened. I canceled my son's appointment for this week. We are done here. If you want to go to a place where you aren't always questioning their motives, then you might avoid this location.

Negative experience: I found the question from the dentist an odd way to introduce herself to me. I’m not sure if I feel the cleaning was adequate or satisfactory as it was quite brief time wise. I've thought about my initial visit and will not be back. The dentist did not return to the room with all the "recommended" procedures and why I needed them. It was the hygienist and the front desk person who pushed for me to make future appointments for several "problems" that needed to be fixed. When I questioned the first suggestion and the cost they immediately moved on to the next until I agreed to more appointments. It reminded me of going to a time-share sales seminar where they keep going down a list until you sign up for some kind of service. It was all very unprofessional.

Positive experience: The staff was very nice but by the end of the visit it felt like it was all just to butter me up for some very high dollar things they wanted me to do. I thought their 3 page questionnaire was a bit much asking questions like "what are your dental goals?" But what would they be?. I say to have healthy teeth and this was used against me when trying to make their pitch. "See, this flows right into your goal". Then pops in another man with the details and this part felt like I was being sold a time share. The technician told me I could break the treatment up if needed, but when I asked Johnny Dental salesman about that he simply said "The doctor prefers to do it all at once"...well thanks for thinking about the doctor. I thought their technique of sending a flyer out for $79 cleaning and checkup was misleading. They said "most insurances will cover this check up so you might want to use the card for other services " except they charged me for other services that they didn't even tell me would be a charge. Plus, yes insurance covers it, however they have a maximum payout, and naturally since we used insurance they billed more than 4x that, which means that ultimately I'd be paying that for their more extensive care since my insurance will max out very early. I probably won't choose them from here on out.

Fantastic experience: Everything I wanted to say about Riverbend has already been beautifully articulated by reviewers! I was pleased to see a new dental office here in Windsor, but apprehensive due to previous experiences. The moment I stepped into the door was instantly reassuring. All staff are incredibly kind and patient. I'm likely 20+ years older than many of them, but the professionalism demonstrated is rare these days in younger generations. A particular highlight was when I heard assistants cheerfully check in with each other. As a medical field employee I understand how valuable such interactions are. What a team! Thank you!

Positive experience: The Dental Tech and Dr Nasser are top notch. Needed a filling replaced by a crown and there was virtually no pain (after the novacaine shot). Excellent work on restoring the tooth prior to crown installation. I expect this tooth to be functional the rest of my life.

Negative experience: The good thing about the place is that the staff is very, very friendly and very kind and I almost feel bad leaving a negative review because they all seem like genuinely nice and empathetic people. The bad thing is that I absolutely would not trust them with any dental work outside of basic fillings and cleanings. From my initial dental cleaning, they had advised a permanent crown replacement for a tooth with a failed filling from my childhood and I agreed to it because they communicated the X-Rays to me and everything made sense to me, even though it wasn't hurting or sensitive in the slightest. I also never really had any trouble with my teeth growing up, but they told me that the new crown would prevent a root canal and a root canal sounded scary. The first temporary crown was so ill-fitted that it started turning black after a week. (As a sidenote, the first dental assistant also advised that it would "probably be fine" if I ate popcorn with it after I directly asked, which I didn't trust and thank God I didn't). When I called on Wednesday about my first temporary crown turning black, I was told that "it was normal" and to not floss it. There was no additional advisories about what to do if it got worse, which it did on Thursday night. I had to Google my own solutions for pain management from Thursday night to Monday until the dentist was able to fit me in that next Tuesday. I was close to going to Urgent Care due to the sheer amount of pain from the first temporary crown. When they did finally fit me in that next Tuesday, I had the worst dentist appointment of my life. It was four hours of constant irritation and prodding only for my first permanent crown to not even fit. I was literally in tears by the end of the appointment and continued to be in pain for the rest of the night. I also had to go on a regular cycle of Advil and medicated mouthwash to continue to manage the pain from the temporary crown on my own because I didn't trust them with another fitting. Because of Labor Day, my next crown appointment was delayed by another week so I had my temporary crown on for a month when I was initially only quoted two weeks. To their credit, they did call as soon as the new crown was delivered and got me into the office as soon as I requested it, but this second permanent crown didn't fit either and it required more prodding on my already sensitive gums from their first failed temporary crown to try to get the molds right. When I expressed my anxieties about the third permanent crown not fitting, they only told me "We'll keep trying until it does" which was not appealing since they made it hurt so much every time they tried and they weren't really trying anything new to ensure that the new permanent crown would fit better. I was also told that I was "a rare case" which was also not very assuring. I asked if they could rush the creation of the third crown since their temporary crowns give me so much trouble and it was their fault that they already messed up on the first two and they told me, again, that they would "try" without assurance that the rush order would actually happen. However, I had enough of all of the "trying" and they were very compliant on giving me my full refund for the permanent crown since it was never delivered. I was also able to get another appointment with another dentist office to complete the procedure who actually was nice enough to do the research necessary to make sure I wouldn't be double charged or screwed over by insurance for the transition since I was mid-procedure. Again, they're super duper nice people here. If I could recommend them based on their customer service and kindness, I would. But if you need actual dental work, please re-consider another office.

Fantastic experience: Since having some other medical issues 6 yrs ago I have been neglecting going to the dentist. I called when I was having tooth pain and they got me right in. Did thorough exam and X-rays. Gave me a plan of care, including prices before doing any work. I never felt pressured. The dental hygienist Destinie did an awesome job with deep cleaning. Dr. Nassar and her assistant did an awesome job taking out an old filling and a crown. I have a full plan of care getting my mouth back to good health!

Fantastic experience: I have extremely high dental anxiety and fear. I had been putting off going to the dentist for many years and finally had a tooth that broke. They were able to fit me in very quickly and handled my anxiety and fear so well. They explained everything they were going to do, and the dentist was extremely gentle and kind. I never felt that my fear was minimized. I felt that I was valued as a customer and never felt like an inconvenience. The entire process was handled so well and I feel that I’m able to say that it went so well that I have confidence that I can get past some of my anxiety because of the kind and gentle care I received here. They even followed up with ,e the next day to make sure I was ok! The entire staff at dental care Riverbend is kind and I would highly recommend this office!

I had multiple questions as I went through my first visit and cleaning, which were all answered clearly and comprehensively, and the second was the same. The technology they use is second to none. I appreciate all of their technology and transparency, as a visual learner I loved that they showed me pictures of my teeth so I understood what they were talking about.
