I started with the hygienist to deep clean which was way overdue, she was amazing and helped me get my gums and mouth ready for the treatment - she is superb! Dr Vanek led me through the full “remodel” of my smile and performed the work expeditiously and I couldn’t be happier with the results - I can smile now with confidence - I highly recommend Dr Vanek and his staff, the care this group gives is simply the best!

Everyone in the office was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. The dentist explained everything clearly and even kept the appointment light with some jokes, which really helped ease my nerves. If you’ve been putting off the dentist because you’re anxious or worried about being judged, this is a great place to go. They’ve completely changed the way I feel about dental visits, and I actually look forward to my regular cleanings now. I can’t recommend this office enough.

Fantastic experience: I went to DV dentist today for a second opinion. I had a bridge fall out and a broken tooth. It was an urgent situation. My dentist retired so I have been looking for a new dentist that I can trust. The staff today were kind, respectful and made me comfortable. Jenny took my X-rays and was very professional, personable and took her time to explain everything she did…thanks Jenny! The receptionist that went over the cost and made me an appointment on short notice was compassionate, and professional. The waiting area was very tastefully decorated and clean. The view from the dental chair(s) were amazing for a dentist office! Location, location, location! Tons of natural light! The dentist was gentle, proficient and seemed confident in his prognosis and care. He was normal and didn’t have a “god complex” thankfully. The last dentist I went to the day before was condescending, rude and told me I needed a procedure I didn’t even come to him for in the first place! The cost was reasonable and actually less than the previous dentist. I’m so grateful for a positive experience today. I typically have high anxiety at the dentist office, but not today. Fantastic experience: My appointment w/Dr. Vanek was today. I was met by his dental assistant, Vivian. who was very welcoming. After I got settled she asked me several pertinent questions regarding my condition, writing down each answer. She even persuaded me into taking a couple of x-rays. I have "tori'" inside my mouth. I have a dislike of x-rays because of the discomfort. For the first time I felt no pain when the x-ray was taken. Yea, Vivian! Thanks so much. Dr. Vanek has been watching a loose tooth of mine for years. His recommendation was that I need the tooth removed & replaced w/a permanent bridge, which would only take about an hour or so. I agreed. It was a win-win situation. Thanks, Dr. Vanek!

Fantastic experience: After *many* years of not having insurance, I was finally able to begin visiting the dentist. I was terrified of being judged, of receiving bad news, etc. However, my experiences at Vanek Dentistry have been far from those initial fears... I am truly thankful to have been welcomed and taken care of by such an amazing team. First off, dental assistant, Vivian, was absolutely amazing!! She walked me through every step, was incredibly gentle, answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb, was extremely patient with me, and overall gave me a great experience at the dentist (which is something I never would have thought I'd ever say). She has made my cleanings and root canal go by extremely smoothly and has made me feel more confident about being consistent with my dental health. Dental hygienist, Sandra, is very helpful and knowledgeable. Her educational approach helped me learn how to do a better job at taking care of my teeth. Finally, Dr. Vanek has been extremely attentive to issues that I had and maybe will have in the future. It is evident that he is well educated and wants the best for his patients.

Fantastic experience: Had the misfortune of having part of a molar break off last week and called Vanek Dentistry for help with the ‘repair’ (I was referred through a close friend). First off, the office is conveniently located in Costs Mesa and has ample parking (a good thing in crowded SoCal). Second, the procedure went as smoothly as one could expect. The staff (Claire with the appointment and Vivian assisting Dr. Vanek) helped make the experience very comfortable. Dr. Vanek explained the procedure in understandable terms and kept me informed of the progress so that I wasn’t left wondering ‘what’s he doing now’? I’m pleased with the results and would add that it was as good a visit as I could have wanted. I highly recommend this dentistry.

Negative experience: The crown placed was too large and now after one day flossing several teeth is vey difficult or even impossible because of movement caused by the misfit crown. Employees are always polite and facility very clean albeit quite chilly.

Fantastic experience: So happy I found DV Dentistry! I chipped my tooth and needed help ASAP. Claire was very helpful when I called and was able to schedule me in for the next day. The whole team is very kind and professional and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great dentist.

Negative experience: I believe Dr Vanek recommends unnecessary or very aggressive procedures. It would be worth your time to get a second opinion. I formed this opinion after receiving a 2nd, 3rd and 4th assessment from other dentists. My initial visit felt weird like I was being sold a timeshare so I got a 2nd opinion. Later I saw 2x other dentists for unrelated reasons and also asked their opinion. All 3x of the other dentists disagreed with Dr Vanek's very aggressive treatment plan and either recommended no filling or just a minor surface filling. Additionally they disagreed with many of the 'watch' items and 'future work' on his list. Best case read of this is Dr Vanek likes to treat aggressively. Worst case he is padding his wallet. Either way, I prefer a dentist who preserves teeth and treats conservatively so not for me.

Fantastic experience: I love this Dentist office. It is close to where I work. They are super friendly and take most insurances. What I like most is they will tell you what you need or what would benefit you. They don't try to upsell you on dental equipment that you probably will never use unlike some other places I have been. I like that and respect that.
