Negative experience: If you can avoid coming here I would highly recommend that! Go anywhere else. They are unprofessional. The doctor working on my daughter was not friendly and did not make her feel comfortable when pulling a tooth prior to getting braces. When I voiced my concern and that my daughter was crying and scared they did not do much to fix it. She is not young she is a teenager! If you have an appointment don’t bother rushing to be on time because they do not care that you may have things to do beyond your appointment. You will be sitting waiting for over an hour for your scheduled appointment. Every single time!

Negative experience: Horrible wait times. My mom had an appointment at 11am and she got there 10:40am. It’s 12:20pm and she has yet to be seen. Yes I’m writing this as she waits.

Negative experience: **BEWARE** March 2026 I’m being charged over $600 two years later for the gum treatment(read below) because my insurance didn’t cover the treatment I didn’t need. Western Dental is deceiving patients!! You have been WARNED. They can send me to collections because I’m not paying another dime. I watched a video with regard to preventative treatment for gum recession during my first appointment at this location. I ended up paying approximately $800 for the treatment since I was convinced I needed it to prevent gum disease. The dental guards did not match my teeth when I went to pick them up, so I asked for a refund but they informed me they could only refund approximately $351. I informed them I closed the credit card I had applied to in order to pay for the treatment and asked the refund be applied on another credit card I used as well, but they refunded the money on the closed credit card which was very annoying. I did my research on Reddit and realized other people had negative experiences at Western Dental in response to being offered products they did not need. I highly encourage people to do your research before purchasing products. It’s all a business.

Negative experience: Not the best experience, I’m sad and disappointed that my last visit was not that great too much miscommunication and rudeness, I come here for a long time but now this visit was awful they didn’t do really anything to make up for the worst experience of my visit. Here to also add that there is a male staff there that has super jittery hands. He ended up injuring my lip. And eventually the swelling went down. I complained to the manager, but I’ll she said was oh I’ll talk to him. Which is short for they’re not gonna do anything. Did not get any type of compensation for my time, wasted in my horrible experience. Plus my most recent visit Roxanna has heavy, bad attitude. I lost Hope at this point.

Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is, without question, the worst dental office I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I’ve been going to Western Dental since I was a kid, and this Garden Grove location somehow manages to be the most chaotic, unprofessional, money-obsessed disaster imaginable. They don’t care about patients—just what they can squeeze out of your insurance. From day one, they were aggressively shoving braces at me. Every visit felt like I was being hunted down by sales reps instead of helped by dental professionals. Letty was especially pushy, practically begging me to agree to braces like she was earning commission. Absolutely ridiculous.They slapped braces on my top teeth and THEN—only after that—suddenly revealed that I had a whole list of cavities they never bothered to mention beforehand. How do you miss that?? The front desk was a circus. I scheduled filling appointments a month in advance, only to show up and be told they “accidentally” booked me with ortho and couldn’t see me. So I wasted my time for nothing. Then the “treatment plan” became one of the biggest jokes I’ve ever experienced. One month: ONE filling. Next month: ONE filling. Why? Who knows. They never explained anything. It’s like they were dragging it out on purpose. They never finished ANYTHING—only did the top half of my mouth and still threw braces on like everything was good to go. The bottom teeth? Never touched. My insurance was expiring, and I begged them to do more than one filling every two months. They didn’t care. Once my insurance dropped me, I had no coverage and no progress. Meanwhile, I had top braces on for over a YEAR, paying $146 every month for absolutely nothing, and they still refused to let me out of the contract. Then I moved to the Bay Area—surprise, surprise—NO other Western Dental location had “room” to take my transfer. This company feels like it's crumbling apart from the inside and taking patients down with it. And the appointment cancellations? Constant. Half the time they didn’t bother to tell me. They’d just move my appointment to the next day like I don’t have a life or a job. The disrespect is unreal. But here’s the part that pushed me over the edge: When I ended my contract, I later found out that Letty never submitted the claim to finalize it. So what happened? Western Dental sent my account to COLLECTIONS, claiming I still owed money for braces I wasn’t even wearing anymore. I had debt collectors calling me every single day because THEY screwed up. When I called Western Dental to fix THEIR mistake, they literally said: “Sorry, can’t do anything. Letty is on vacation.” Oh, perfect. My credit gets torched, but hey—glad she’s enjoying her time off. I wasted THOUSANDS for nothing. They ended up taking the braces off without completing any real treatment. Why did they push braces on me when they knew I had untreated issues from the start? Because it’s all about money. That’s it. That’s the whole story with this place. Avoid this location like your sanity depends on it. They are going bankrupt.

Fantastic experience: There the best at this location. I refer everyone I know here. They take their time with making sure your in top shape. And always ask if your alright throughout the procedure and make it tailored to your own personal experience. I wouldn't change my dentist for anything.

As a first-time patient, with a dental emergency, my sweetheart put his ultimate trust in Western Dental with a $3,000 dental plan, investing $600 today as a down payment…which doesn’t come easy when unplanned for. What followed was a DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING and UNPROFESSIONAL experience: BROKEN PROMISES: Despite assurances of a same-day temporary bridge or similar, they extracted his teeth and provided NO temporary solution. LACK OF SUPPORT: After the initial procedure, staff were unhelpful and dismissive. →Financial Investment, Zero 0️⃣ Care: $600 initial payment towards a $3,000 plan, with zero compassionate follow-up. ↯ New Patient Treatment: First impression was shockingly negative and really quite disrespectful to say the least. ↱ to Potential Patients↴ If you value professional care, communication, and basic patient respect, DO NOT choose Western Dental in Garden Grove. My partner's traumatic experience serves as a critical warning. Seek dental care providers who genuinely prioritize patient well-being and follow through on their commitments. for the remainder of the process. My heart hurts for him.

Negative experience: Bad experience since my treatment started, they canceled several appointments at the last minute, during my last appointment it took 5 hours after my scheduled time for the doctor to see me for about 15 minutes, right now it is already 90 minutes late New review This place is really a disaster, I have been here for the same problem with not positive results, on one my previous appointments I had to wait for 5 hours and the doctor did not resolve my problem, called for a new appointment and they book me with a wrong doctor, they book me again for today and I am here, the doctor is behind again and I do not know how much longer I have to wait since the personnel here can't estimate it 07/28/2025 Two hours after my scheduled appointment i was told that I have to wait for two more hours, I did canceled this appointment because I am no willing to wait for 4 hours, but I did not get another appointment until 08/25/2025, one month later

Negative experience: This place is a joke. I couldn't even get past the first appointment!! They rescheduled it without even telling me until the last minute. The receptionist "Claudia" sounded clueless....I canceled the appointment and rescheduled with a different dentist. Good Riddance.

Negative experience: Really bad experience here. While doing the deep cleaning doctor cut/burn side lip. Couldn’t even eat the 1st day and here I am with second day and lip still hurts even to talk it burns. Wished they were more careful with this type of work. Hope no one has experienced this type of incident here! Was going to leave no star but doesn’t let me post without adding a star!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. My girlfriend recently suffered from a dry socket, and when she went in for help, they did not prescribe any medication or provide proper care. Instead, they simply cleaned the area and left her in tears from the pain. It felt like they were more focused on making money than on providing compassionate care. I would strongly recommend staying away from this place! All they care about is $$$ so do not go if on medic aid.

Negative experience: This organization has the worst customer service ever. Find somewhere else to go you have to fight to understand the treatment plan go somewhere else

Positive experience: If you want fast service this is not the place for you. Usually you will wait in the waiting room for 30 or more minutes. And wait even longer once they have you on your drntist seat. And the place is fricken freezing. Plan at least 2 to 3 hours for a check up and cleaning. But they are good, affordable, professional and nice. So I stay. You just need to plan for these inconveniences and you will be fine.

Negative experience: THEY MILK YOU FOR MONEY!! There's only 1 person that manages insurance and when giving me a quote it totaled over $5000 with unnecessary stuff. I asked them if my insurance would be helping me at all and the lady said no because of my plan. I called my insurance and they said that's incorrect and they need to send over an authorization for approval. I called this place multiple times explaining my situation and the same lady kept refusing saying they don't need to do that. I went to a different dental place and I was able to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out for $28 because they ACTUALLY CARE and sent whatever my insurance needed.

Negative experience: Having an appointment at 10:00 and arriving early for the appointment. Still at 1145 waiting to be seen. Front desk is not very helpful and having an attitude when you ask how much longer? An other hour? I thought if you have an appointment at 10. Are you not supposed to be seen at that time. If not why make an appointment?? 1st time here and very unsatisfied with the service. Really it’s 1:23 and still have been helped. My daughter is here just for an exam - no cavities. She just needs a cleaning…. I was just told everyone went to lunch

Negative experience: One of the worst offices you can choose. Has been a nightmare working with this location. Endless pointless appointments. Don't know how many time we showed up and no work was done . They' don't spend enough time with patients just want them in & out. My daughter lasted 3 weeks with out a wire pushing her date to have them removed over the lack of communication. When expressed to the manager she wasn't helpful at all . Told us to come back and hour earlier next time to get what we needed done . This was gonna be the 3rd appointment we showed up to so they can tell us the work can't be performed . Mind you I physically walked into this office to make this specific appointment. Employees look so annoyed to deal with anyone's concerns . Definitely wouldn't recommend this location . At all .

They don’t have appointments within the month and kept cancelling my appointment to the next month. I’m on auto-pay so it’s frustrating that I’m paying for services I don’t receive each month. I had to call corporate for an appointment. I understand why now their yelp page has a low review score.

Immediately I entered the office, she waved to me saying good morning. That, itself was an ice on the cake. Unfortunately, the billing coordinator wasn't appropriate at all. I went in to replace my broken lower retainer. She came to me without introducing herself. She opened the computer and told me you're paying $150. I then said "what's your name and who are you?" Then, she introduced herself and kept telling me to pay. I asked to have my impressions done, but she was adamant. Until the Dr came, and I introduced myself and how the coordinator's attitude was so inappropriate and unprofessional. Am so glad the doctor and the dental assistant displayed exemplary skills and professionalism.
