Negative experience: I was a patient at Riverpark Dentistry for at least 10–15 years, and for most of that time the staff was always professional, helpful, and made you feel valued as a patient. That’s why it’s especially disappointing to see how much things have changed in the past few years. The friendly, personal feeling that once made this office special has really declined. I’ve also recently been charged for services that were previously covered by my insurance , and my insurance has not changed and still provides that coverage. That was frustrating and confusing. What really made me decide to move on was being charged $85 after canceling an appointment 24 hours in advance because I was sick. I was never clearly notified about that policy, and honestly, if I had known, I would have come in rather than being charged while feeling unwell. Even more disappointing was that no one followed up after I canceled my future appointments. After being a loyal patient for so many years, it felt like longtime clients no longer matter. It’s sad to leave a place I trusted for so long, but I’ll be moving on to another dental office. I hope they take a closer look at how they treat their longtime patients.

Fantastic experience: Hi, my experience at Riverpark Dentistry has been good. Though I felt I had cavities. My former Dr. didn't check them. But my new dentist she's taking over my teeth. Fantastic experience: I've been visiting Riverpark Dentistry for about a year now, and have been really impressed with how attentive and careful the staff has been to ensure I'm comfortable throughout - and after - my treatments. I also appreciate the fact that appointments begin on time, and it's always easy to schedule follow-up visits.

Negative experience: Terrible dental practice. This place is a money mill looking to upsell anything they can even if unnecessary. Also, if you're sick and unable to make the appointment, and call in first thing in the morning to inform them, they will charge a cancelation fee and then drop you as a patient if the fee isn't paid immediately - even with a doctors note! We switched to sunny smiles and they are much better. Save yourself the headache and choose a better dentist.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never been a fan of going to the dentist, but the team here has completely changed my outlook. They’re genuinely friendly and professional, making every visit so much less stressful. Before finding this office, I would only go to the dentist about once every five years. Now, I’m going at least three times a year for routine care! Unlike my last dental practice, this office focuses on what truly matters...no pressure and no shaming to upsell services or products. Though the office may be small, it’s always exceptionally clean and welcoming. They also keep the TV on (with closed captioning or headphones available) above you so you can stay distracted while they do their work. They’re also fantastic with communication. They text me for appointment reminders, which is especially helpful since I’m nearly deaf. Their willingness to accommodate my needs shows just how much they value their patients. This level of care and service really reflects the culture of this office.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Riverpark Dentistry. During my root canal, I experienced anxiety, but Rocio and Dr. Pham were incredibly patient and kind. They gave me breaks and helped me relax throughout the procedure. The entire staff is always so kind and attentive, ensuring I am comfortable at every step. Their professionalism and genuine care make each visit pleasant. I highly recommend this place and always have an amazing experience when I visit.

Negative experience: UPDATED REVIEW 11/01/2024 Beware! Sent my account to collections for $68 for charges I was unaware were out-of-network. I had been a patient since around 2019 (and had posted 2 previous glowing reviews!). Went in for routine teeth cleaning in April 2024; was told I had no co-pay, so I was surprised to receive a bill in either late June or July. When I inquired about the charges, I was told they would look into it. No one got back to me. When I received another bill, I followed up with them and was told it was because they were no longer in network, something they neglected to tell me when I came in in April. I contacted my insurance carrier and was told the practice had opted out of network the prior November and that it was RiverPark Dentistry’s responsibility to advise their patients of same. I never received any such notice from them and they failed to do so when I came in in April and I only learned of it AFTER I followed up with them in late July. Had they informed me either prior to, or at the time I came in in April, would have gone to another dentist who was in-network. I advised them of this in late July/early August and that I would be finding another dentist. Their response: “Thank you for letting us know.”That was it. No explanation or apology for not advising they were no longer in network. My next communication from them was from collections in October. I have emailed RiverPark about this matter repeatedly and left phone messages, all unanswered, other than referring me to collections. I might add that on a previous visit, they sent me a bill for a service charge for paying my bill with a credit card, which I had done so from my first visit with them. When I asked about the charge, I was told it was a new policy. However, they did not tell me about it at the time. In all fairness, they did reverse the charge at my request. I am shaking my head over this. I received a breast cancer diagnosis in January 2024 (which caused me to delay other dental work I had had planned with RiverPark Dentistry before all this ,something they had been aware of). EARLIER REVIEW It’s been 4 years since my first review and I’m still a patient. Just had my first crown done @ RiverPark Dentistry, by Dr. Pham. Unlike previous crownwork done by different dentists, this crown was perfect the first time. No adjustments or tinkering necessary. Not only does Dr. Pham do great work (he’s also filled a cavity), he’s super personable. And the staff is also terrific. Highly recommend RiverPark dentistry. My original review: I became a patient in March 2019 when I relocated to Ventura County from the Palm Springs area; and was immediately struck at the thoroughness of the services and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. I was there for my annual cleaning, checkup and xrays. My second teeth cleaning was just last Friday and Tina tended to me on that occasion. Again, I was really impressed by the thoroughness and quality of service and by her friendliness. I was heartbroken at having to leave my longtime dental office in the desert, not knowing if I would be able to find a dental office that would equal the quality, etc. to which I had become accustomed. Happily, I have found such a dental office with RiverPark Dentristy.

Fantastic experience: My Dentist of 20 years retired and i had a toothache from not see a dentist for over a year. I was able to get in to see the doctor right away. Dr. Lapiad is so professional and knowledgable. I didnt have to wait in the chair long she came in right away. Her staff is sooo sweet and very experienced they explained everything thoroughly. Their costs are very fair and they don't try to upsell unnecessary procedures. I want to Express this because my husband went to another dentist a week prior to my visit with Dr. Lapiad with the same problem as me and his experience has been terrible. Fantastic experience: Riverpark Dentistry is hands down the best dentist I've been to! The office is super clean with complimentary water and air purifiers everywhere. They clean everything between and during appointments, which makes me feel really safe. They take X-rays and even 3D pictures of your teeth, which is amazing. The cleanings are very thorough, and they listen to and address all my concerns. They provide a lot of information about the state of your teeth and make the whole exam and cleaning process very comfortable. Plus, you can watch Netflix during your cleaning, which makes the time fly by! I’m so glad I found them after a bad experience with my last dentist who said I needed a bunch of fillings that I didn't actually need. I've had great dentists in the past, but Riverpark Dentistry surpassed them all!

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately my teeth are in bad shape. I am so scared and nervous at dentist so I always put it off. Pam the hygienist was so patient with me and so thorough. I was so embarrassed but she didn’t make me feel bad in anyway. Her and the Doctor were incredibly nice. I also had a problem with my retainers from my previous orthodontist and they fixed it for me. I really recommend this place!

Negative experience: It has taken many months for me to get to the point where my dissatisfaction has outrun my patience regarding a request for a service at this dental practice. After much consideration and discussion with the dentist, I decided to address my missing tooth with a solution that wouldn't break the bank or compromise comfort. The dentist, understanding my concerns, proposed a solution that seemed ideal—a middle-of-the-road option that would seamlessly fit between my adjacent teeth without the need for invasive procedures like expensive implants or bridges with wires that I pointed out I was not interested in. Initially relieved, I underwent the necessary preparations, including root extraction, collagen treatment, and antibiotics. Anticipation grew as I looked forward to finally closing the gap in my smile. However, upon returning for the fitting, I was shocked to find that the proposed solution had morphed into a full bridge with wires, completely contrary to what was discussed. Despite expressing my dismay, my concerns were downplayed, leaving me feeling embarrassed and unheard. Despite my discomfort and inability to eat or sleep with this new fixture, which was not the solution I signed up for in the first place, I was encouraged to persist, with promises that I would 'get used to it.' This affected not only my speech but also my confidence at work. I have not been able to persist and wear this. In the end, I am left with a disappointing outcome that not only fails to meet my expectations but also undermines my trust in the dental practice. It's disheartening to walk away from a supposed solution feeling like I've been shortchanged, especially knowing that my dental insurance won't cover a revision.

Negative experience: Money mill dentist, they suggest unnecessary major work to get insurance money. Always get a second opinion. I was told I had 16 cavities, in reality I had none. Don’t go here.

Negative experience: Unless you want to deal with a dentist that overcharges and avoids you when she makes a mistake, don’t go here. There were red flags I saw throughout the years, but the final one was when Dr. Lapiad insisted I needed two night guards and insisted that my insurance would cover a majority of the cost of both. Insurance did not. When she found out, she basically said there was nothing she could do. She became very avoidant and didn’t want to see me even when I kept having pain from my night guards and asked if I could just get the old version I had that worked well. I ended up getting a second opinion from another dentist who said I didn’t need two and didn’t understand why I got two. I went back and forth with the office about fixing the issue, Dr. Lapiad not being accommodating, and even getting told I was scheduled when I was not. Months later I got the issue fixed, but I had to miss work various times because they said they could not schedule me after 4:30 p.m. for a big mistake she made. She didn’t even see me any of the times I went in. She had a hygienist deal with it. I will not be coming back here as she is only kind when everything goes right and avoids you like crazy if she messes up. A genuine dentist would admit their mistake and try to help you fix it. Last three things. One, I am not sure if she treats her employees well because a couple of times I have gone in, I felt some tension and overheard a remark she made to one. That did not seem professional at all. Two, while I was waiting in the waiting room my first visit there, I overheard the receptionist say a patient’s complete social out loud. The receptionist knew I was there. That does not sound confidential and made me wonder how many times they have done this. Lastly, I don’t know if they still do this, but back then they would offer their patients free gum in exchange for a 5 star review. The reason why I stayed so long was because I liked the hygienists, assistants, and Dr. Pham. They were nice.

My wife and son are both very happy too but specially my son who doesn’t understand why other kid don’t like going to the dentist

Fantastic experience: First time going today. Very accommodating for me as I have horrible anxiety at the dentist. They gave me a blanket, let me watch Netflix with headphones. Great cleaning and thorough exam. Also love that they offer a monthly plan for those of us without dental insurance.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning with fear in my veins after a few bad experiences at other places, the entire staff took good care of me, the dental hygienist was a pro with the wand. Not once did I feel like gaging or chocking on my saliva. The front office greeted me with a smile and made sure I was satisfied with my visit.

Fantastic experience: This was my first appointment at Riverpark Dentistry and it won’t be the last. From the front desk to the Dentist. Everyone I can in contact was polite and knowledgeable. My hygienist brought such a calming presence to the room and she took the time to explain everything she was doing. Everything in the room was state of the art and I could tell I was in excellent hands.

Fantastic experience: The moment you enter , receptionist is very nice . Pam the hygienist is so attentive as well as the dentist . Very nice ambiance , i can watch my favorite Netflix movie They will make you comfortable and explain procedure or services in detail.
