Beach Cities Dental Group: Georgia Haddad, DDS

Negative experience: During my first visit in September, the office was welcoming — as most offices are when trying to earn your business. The dental assistant repeatedly emphasized that Dr. Haddad is an instructor and then pressured me to leave a review on the spot by offering a whitening pen in exchange, which I did receive. I initially went in for a toothache and was told by Dr. Haddad that I had a cracked molar. She proceeded to prep the tooth for a crown and informed me it would take 6–8 weeks to arrive. A week later, I was still in significant pain. When I returned, I was simply given medication and told everything was fine. The pain continued, so I sought both a second and third opinion. Both dentists informed me I actually needed a root canal and that crowns typically take no more than two weeks to arrive. I was also advised that detecting a cracked molar is often difficult, which raises serious concerns about the initial diagnosis and the decision to prep my tooth for a crown prematurely. I ultimately had my root canal completed elsewhere. However, Dr. Haddad’s office still had my crown. I called twice — once in November and again in December, speaking with Norma — to schedule placement, and I never received a follow-up. It is now February, and I have not heard back. I regret giving this office a chance.

Fantastic experience: This is by far my favorite dentist office. I’m very nervous at the dentist generally but Dr. Haddad and Celeste the registered dental assistant are so wonderful. They explain what is going to happen and listen to you if you have a concern. It’s also a very nice office setting and you have your own space while being worked on. I actually moved to San Diego and I intend to do the drive back and forth for regular visits. 10/10 would recommend! Absolutely a great dental office

Fantastic experience: Dr. Haddad & her staff are BEYOND AMAZING!!! As an ICU nurse for the last 20 years & someone that has had some dental trauma & some pretty severe dental anxiety, I do not say this lightly. They were all so comforting, reassuring, nonjudgmental, & all of the things I needed to move forward. I have never experienced a painless dental procedure until now. I did not have any pain, none, 0/10. Dr. Haddad has some magic up her sleeves. I literally cried tears of joy after finding Beach Cities Dental. Those women are heaven sent!!! Fantastic experience: I was so afraid to come to the dentist after previous bad experiences years ago, I avoided it. I was recommended by my boyfriend to come to see Dr. Haddad who has worked on not only his teeth but most of his families teeth as well. I went in and got a consultation, x-rays and was explained on what needed to be done. I have severe anxiety and they made me all feel so comfortable they even offered sedation options as well. Dr. Haddad was very kind and explained every step to me to fix my teeth and all that was needed to be done to make my mouth healthier. Fantastic experience: First off, I’m a terrible dentist patient. Scared to death of going, everything hurts, hate things in my mouth, sensitive gag reflex. Every dentist’s worst nightmare. Even continued going to the children's dentist for 8 years instead of finding a new adult dentist. Then when she retired, just didn’t go for 7 years. But finding Dr. Haddad has been the one of the best things to happen to me. She’s given me my smile back. She literally couldn’t be a nicer person and she’s incredible, no, magical at what she does. I had stains and bad decalcification from braces and the veneers look so natural, they are perfect. In every way. Everyone in the office are so nice and friendly. It’s like visiting friends when I go in.

So much so that I could not get her to go for the last two years. I was referred to Dr. Haddad by a friend who also suffers from this and so I begged my daughter to go. The problems associated with decades of those fillings has been a challenge to say the least. She even figured out my nerve path on one side of my jaw wasn’t located in traditional location. By finding the alternative location, procedures needed have been so much more comfortable. This is a caring facility for your dental needs and I could not recommend them more highly.

Negative experience: I realize I'm the minority here on rating this dentist, but here was my experience: I went here because of the good online reviews. For context, I had recently had jaw surgery and probably should have waited longer for dental work, but I needed a deep cleaning. When I sat down, the assistant immediately started trying to sell me on more services with Dr. Haddad. ("Did you read her website? She's more than just a dentist. She also does cosmetic work.") Dr. Haddad was completely freaked out by my surgery and proceeded to blame me for my sensitivity. She scolded me for using chlorhexidine (which stains your teeth), and I told here I had to because it was prescribed after the surgery and I couldn't brush my teeth. She told me I had FIVE cavities, which was the first time I'd been told that. On cleaning, she and her tech completely forgot to clean the chewing surfaces of my teeth, and I had to point it out. When I questioned her about the cavities, she said, "What kind of person are you? Do you care about the future health of your teeth, or are you willing to let them get really bad?" Later, she said nothing was so bad that it couldn't wait at least 6 months. She said that maybe former dentists had not wanted to tell me the truth about my cavities because of my sensitivity. I told here I had never had this sensitivity because it came from the surgery. I have never been spoken to so condescendingly by a dentist. I just went to Seabridge Dental, a much more experienced dentist with more modern facilities, and was told I have ZERO cavities. She may be very nice, but I do not recommend Dr. Haddad or her practice because of their lack of experience and attempts to shame me into getting unnecessary dental work. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because they did get the plaque off my teeth after 2 cleanings.

I can add to those reviews as her work is first class. She saw and pointed out to me issues the X-ray showed (and I could see). Then she gave me options and explained the procedure we agreed on. My young son went to a pediatric dentist that was close to our house and they said he would need many crowns. She fit my son in and let us know many of the issues she could address with fillings and did not need crowns. She saved us thousands of dollars and a lot of headache for my young son.
