Fantastic experience: Very friendly and professional group of ladies! It’s always very pleasant and smooth going when I have an appointment which is not the norm when going to the dentist. Job well done, ladies!!

Negative experience: The communication from this office was unclear and disappointing. When the receptionist called to discuss insurance coverage, I expected a straightforward conversation about costs. Instead, I was given vague information about "other things" being out-of-pocket. When I asked for clarification on the appointment structure and ability to decline additional services, I was abruptly told I wasn't "a good fit" for the practice. I believe patients deserve transparency about treatment plans and associated costs before committing to appointments. The dismissive response to my reasonable questions was concerning. While I cannot comment on the quality of dental care, as my appointment was canceled, I hope the office will improve their communication with potential patients in the future. Clear information upfront about services, costs, and patient choices would go a long way in building trust.

Fantastic experience: Ashley, one the practice's great hygienist, cleaned my teeth yesterday. They're so bright I wear shades when I smile in the mirror. I'm old, I've been to lots of dentists, mostly good, but Polished Dentistry is in a league of its own. Recently, I underwent a complex and successful five hour procedure performed by Dr. Kim, assisted by Dental Techs Maddy and Mel. As in prior visits, I was highly impressed with the level of skill and professionalism displayed. My treatment resulted in very little discomfort and fast recovery. Polished General Dentistry is hands down the best dental practice I've experienced. Not only is this team, as well as others at the practice, top notch in dentistry, they're a warm bunch who plainly care for their patients and go to great lengths to keep them comfortable. Dr. Kim even sings along with the piped in music. He's good - not drive to Vegas, good - but more than ready for the local scene.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here and seeing Dr. Kim for about three years. Unfortunately, my gums and teeth have required me to be here often. The office staff is very welcoming. Dr.Kim is very professional , but kind. Maddy who assisted him with my crown work was pretty awesome. Dr.Kim has all the latest equipment and my visits are pretty much pain free. I can say this since I do all my work without any anesthesia. One thing I really appreciate is that I never have to wait. I am always taken on time whether I am seeing the hygienist or Dr. Kim himself. I feel that is particularly important for those who experience dental anxiety.

Fantastic experience: The focus at Polished General Dentistry in educating the patient as well as keeping them as comfortable as possible is clearly their top priority. I had seen a family dentist for my whole life up until I moved and needed to find a new one. I ended up needing some cavities filled and saw them about 3 more times within the month. These dentists are using up-to-date technology, are all clearly educated and take your general anxieties very seriously. I am fortunate to not suffer from dental fears. Regardless, I was asked how I was feeling and doing each step of the way. Even if I didn't seem to be in distress, they made sure they were not pushing on something that hurt or made me uncomfortable. They even have tv's mounted to the ceilings for clients to watch cute animals while they work, if desired. The people at Polished are on top of their game and really seem to love helping others. They were all so friendly and personal with their patients that I felt refreshed in the soul as well as my teeth every time! I am so extremely satisfied with my experience there and would recommend them to anybody even a little anxious about their dental health. The folks at Polished General Dentistry are going to treat you very well.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic experience! I was with a dentist for 30 years, and they went out of network with my insurance. I found Polished General Dentistry and was impressed from the first moment. I’ve never seen such great technology that is centered around making the best experience for myself and other patients. My doctor was “watching” some teeth that turned out to have infection! Dr. Kim told me my risks of keeping the infected teeth in my mouth and I immediately had them extracted. Disappointed in my last dentist that he was being neglectful. This a a great dental office which I recommend to all my friends! Thanks for the great care Dr. Kim!

As someone who gets anxiety with dental work, the care I received made visits stress-free. Dr. Kim and Hailey were beyond communicative and always checked in along the way to make sure I felt comfortable. They take a preventative approach to oral health and I have noticed a huge change in the past 30 days since my initial consult. I never felt pressured to schedule appointments and Dr. Kim took the time to explain his recommendations and come up with a plan that would work for me. Fantastic experience: My Invisalign treatment worked very well, my teeth are straight and my bite feels the best ever. I still need quite a bit of work done and Dr Kim spent plenty of time explaining the procedures and the options for my treatment plan. I’m so glad he’s my dentist.

Negative experience: Bad service, they only care about the money and not your teeth. They tried to do laser treatment on my teeth and I went to get a second opinion and they told me my teeth are okay. I never went back to Polished Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: What a great place to get dental work done! If you’re like me and don’t love going to the dentist this is the place for you. They cater to your anxiety and even have a very easy conscious sedation pill to make getting crowns done a breeze. My appointment was schedule for 2 hours and I felt like I was there for 20 minutes! Go here if you have a fear of dentists because Dr Kim and his team are top-notch!

Fantastic experience: My family has the APOE4 gene indicating a risk for Alzheimer's, so it is important to minimze toxins. My mercury-laced amalgams were in need of replacement so I searched for a local holistic dentist. Not only did Dr. Kim and staff create a plan to achieve my goal, but they identified some cracking teeth, and helped stabilize periodontal disease. With their state of the art technology, they keep me informed of progress at every step. Their hygenist is the best. Dr. Kim and all have given me a fighting chance. Also, a treatment plan was discussed for future care to prevent further damage to my teeth. Negative experience: Very disappointed, I don't have insurance and I wanted a deep cleaning; they took the x-rays, and found multiple problems on my teeth, i needed 2 crowns, i have multiple cavities, they told me I needed invisalings, told me I had crooked teeth. I got like super worried. It was so much money, more than 12.000 usd, so I asked them for my x-rays for going to another dentist a second opinion, they kind of didn't like it but gave it to me, they sent x-rays that were not mine, and other that were mine, so the other dentist had to take new x-rays again to make sure my real theet, the new dentist told me, I don't have cavities, y don't have crooked teeth, I don't need crowns, just change my fillings, and I don't need invisalings, so I didn't need 12.000 anymore, just a deep cleaning and change my fillings, just 700... and as the diagnostic was so different , I decided to take a 3rd opinion, and the 3rd doctor said the same as the second doctor. I just needed clean and change my fillings... the other dentist conclusion... Unethical practice....

Fantastic experience: I have been with Polished General Dentistry for years and they are the only practice allowed to work on my mouth. I, like most people, was not a fan of that dreaded dentist appointment but everyone at Polish has made me feel so comfortable. From the front desk as soon as I walk in, to the hygienist and doctor in the back, to the consultation room and payment planning everyone has a smile on their face and ensures I feel relaxed. It’s 5 star treatment all around!

Negative experience: I’ve given this dentist office a try for the past year but am finally calling it quits and finding another dentist. I have never seen dental bills so high and I have never been constantly pressured to buy $30 toothpaste at any other dentist office. This office feels like a scam. The high bills are justified by a blanket statement that it is their “standard of care” to do x, y, and z. I would urge anyone who has received a treatment plan from Polished to get a second opinion from another dentist prior to moving forward. I received a second opinion at a dentist office abroad and paid a couple of hundred instead of a couple thousand dollars for the work I needed done on my teeth. The dentist also questioned why Polished was recommending me to have certain teeth drilled down and a crown applied when a filling would suffice (my teeth weren’t in any pain). My assumption is because they are more interested in revenue than providing appropriate healthcare.

Fantastic experience: I have been afraid of dentists for years due to past visits with rough dentists. A friend recommended Polished General Dentistry and I could not be more thankful! I finally faced my fears and yesterday was my first appointment to get my mouth back in shape. I was in the chair for 4 hours and am blown away with how gentle they were and how little discomfort I am feeling the day after. I can not thank you all enough! You were kind, gentle and your work is impeccable! I highly recommend this office for all of your dental needs. They are phenomenal!

Fantastic experience: I came to visit my family in California I live in North Carolina and the North Carolina Dentistry are only open Monday through Thursday ininwhich California has better opportunities better hours and much much better service I went to this dental office and had the utmost treatment care amazing service , that when come back home to California and need more dental work I would definitely wait and see the dentist said I seen she was amazing. Fantastic experience: Had my first appointment here and I was blown away. There was plenty of parking and it’s easy to find, it’s the first place inside. Clean, modern, dental office with new equipment. The X-rays were taken with a small handheld machine, which was a first for me. They also took pictures, and did a digital scan of my mouth which they could then model to show me a pressure map of my bite. I mean, there’s a tv on the ceiling, I was impressed. They pressure washed my teeth clean and blasted my gums with lasers leaving my mouth feeling cleaner than It ever has. Not to mention the staff it so professional and kind, they use star-trek style communicators to make sure every part of the operation runs as smooth as can be. I showed up with the mouth of a peasant and we are going to create the mouth of a king. Allen Kim is the best dentist around, I drove to Fresno to see him before. It’s so important to be able to trust your dentist. I’ve been burned before and for the first time I’m actually excited to return to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr. Kim as a first time patient after falling and breaking one of my front teeth. His office was able to get me an appointment the very next day! Everyone was amazing from the front office staff to the hygienists. I was so nervous because I’d never had any emergency dental work done, but Shar and Theresa took great care of me and made the whole process a lot less scary. Dr. Kim was kind, gentle, and empathetic. He checked in with me regularly while fixing my tooth and made sure I wasn’t having pain. Most importantly, he fixed my smile to the point where you cannot even tell that half my tooth is fake! I highly recommend Dr. Kim and everyone at Polished Dentistry!

Negative experience: I’m sure this practice is great if you are wealthy or have insane dental insurance, but if you’re an average person, please go elsewhere. I wish I’d looked at the negative reviews before going because my experience was nearly the exact same. I recently moved and saw my old dentist right before I left with no issues. Suddenly here, my teeth are rotting out of my head and I need $1500 of work done to save them. Got a second opinion at a HIGHER RATED dentistry and I have two minor cavities. Also had the grossest cleaning of my life here with water running down my face constantly. Their buzz phrase is “our standard of care is higher than other dentists” (you’ll hear it at least 100 times) and you can tell that the hygienists and other staff are essentially speaking from a script. I asked for copies of my X-rays and they said they’d send them and then they never did. They also told me if I saw another dentist I couldn’t come back to them What a joke. Again, if you have thousands of dollars to spend for perfect teeth, good for you! I’m sure this is how they weed out not wealthy patients so they have consistent money coming in. But for the rest of us, please find somewhere less gimmicky. They are sales people first and dental professionals second.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé found this office for me after having a bad experience with a chain dentist. I’ve ALWAYS hated going to the dentist ever since I was young. This place has changed the way I see dentist appointments. I don’t dread coming here. Everyone is so incredibly welcoming. They do an incredible job putting you at ease. They explain everything to you before doing anything. The office is clean and up to date on the latest technology. They don’t guilt you if you’ve been slacking on flossing. Fantastic experience: I've always had such a great experience here. If I could give 10 stars I would. My babysitter cancelled last minute so I brought my son and the receptionists watched him for two hours in the front, giving him snacks and holding him while I got a crown put on. This place goes above and beyond. Even before bringing my son, it felt like a family environment. I fully trust everyone here and it's nice to walk into the friendly, happy culture that they have created. 10/10.

After avoiding a dentist for years, I was given a full explanation of what procedures they recommended and explanation of why. They put the pictures and X-rays on the screen so we could walk through them together. In a matter of days I had my introduction appointment and all cleanings/procedures taken care of. Fantastic experience: Being a traveler sometimes makes it hard to find a good dentist. My friend recommend this dentist and I couldn’t be happier that I went here. I had to do a root canal treatment and a crown. Their service was extremely good and they were all so kind. I highly recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have never enjoyed going to the dentist, but now I think its because I have never been to a good one! This is the best dental experience I have had in a decade. From the moment you walk-in and speak with the receptionist, you feel like family. The dentists and hygienists are very kind and make sure you are comfortable throughout your procedure (I have a small mouth and they were very patient when I needed to rest my jaw). Though I do not typically look forward to dentist visits, I greatly appreciate the atmosphere and customer service that comes with being a patient at Polished General Dentistry. If you know Dr. Shelton, she is a joy to work with and is SO knowledgeable about every aspect of treatment (and beyond) so measuring up to that was something I wasn't sure was going to happen. However, I met with Dr. Kim yesterday and he blew me away with his over all demeanor and care for his patients. He was so efficient while maintaining the opportunity to build a relationship with me, and to do phenomenal work. I will forever be a patient of Dr. Kim's and polished general dentistry will always have my highest recommendation when it comes to excellence in dentistry.

Fantastic experience: Great practice, very sweet and friendly! They're seeing me through my invisalign journey and I 100% will recommend the hands on experience and guidance of a trained dental expert. This experience is definitely not something you should DIY with some online company.

Fantastic experience: Go Here!!! First of all I am not a big fan of the dentist however polished dentistry really is amazing and I really don’t mind coming to the dentist. The staff is super friendly. I wish I would have gone to a dentist like Dr. Shelton and Dr.Kim years ago. I cannot say enough good things about place. I have actually had to bring my child with me and the whole office was more than happy to help and I cannot stress how relieved I was. Again if you need a dentist you need to come to this place. Your teeth will thank you.

After many visits, one large procedure and multiple maintenance, my health is a complete 180. All the staff I have worked with have been kind, gentle, and take a genuine interest in your journey.

Fantastic experience: This feedback is long overdue. We’ve been with Polished General Dentistry since 2016 and all my experiences were nothing but great. All staff (apologies I’m not good with names ✌) from the front desk, insurance specialist, dental hygienists, and Dr. Shelton (and her counterpart) have been professional and at the same time friendly while addressing all my concerns. I highly recommend them to family and friends .

Fantastic experience: I would say in general I am a nervous dentist goer, but I had a highly pleasant experience at Polished General Dentistry. I had to get a crown, and fairly extensive cavity filled... and I didn't feel a thing. They did a great job. Very glad I ended up in their office and not somewhere else for all that work that I needed to get done. (Last above was after my first visit with them.) **UPDATE** Just had my second procedure done today, and it went excellently. All the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They just cemented my loyalty ❤️

Fantastic experience: After years of avoiding the dentist I came to polished in need of some serious help and Dr. Shelton really came through with a plan to get me back on track. She helped me not to feel overwhelmed and nobody shamed me for not going to the dentist for years haha! I’ve had the best experience so far!! Everyone has been so nice and helpful and I feel very relaxed at Polished! I really like the open layout they have so you don’t feel all alone and nobody is in a private (too quiet) room. Loving it so far and looking forward to getting my teeth 100% healthy again :-)

Positive experience: My journey with Dr. Shelton is still new however I am so far very pleased with my experiences. The staff is phenomenal and so friendly. I’ve been dealing with previous issues of a placed implant and it seems they may have found the cause and are being very proactive in my care. Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic staff and atmosphere. Upon arriving to the office, I was eagerly greeted by Kimberly. She was upbeat, kind, witty and was a fantastic introduction to the Polished General Dentistry community. After I was checked in and taken back by Theresa, I was informed of all the details on the health of my teeth together with Dr. Shelton who is also very warm and pays very close attention to detail. Pavlina the hygienist was also so kind, personable and confident in her skills! She knew what she was doing, and made sure that I left better than when I came in. Gisela and Char were also fantastic! They made the environment even friendlier with their light heartedness and abilities to efficiently multitask. The interaction with the team left me feeling confident that I would be well taken care of and that my smile will be where I want it to be in the future. I would refer this place to anyone who is looking for excellent care, attention to detail and a welcoming environment.

Negative experience: I do not write reviews often and I do not like writing bad reviews, but I want to save others from spending thousands of dollars on their teeth that is not necessary. I went into Polished Dentistry for the first time 2 weeks ago for a routine cleaning. I decided to go here based on their overall great reviews after moving here earlier this year. I had my last cleaning 6 months ago with no issues and I had no complaints at all about my teeth going into the appointment. Their office is very nice and everyone was very friendly at first, but after meeting with the dentist she told me I had 4 cavities and 3 other teeth to fill before they became cavities. She also laid out a list of other things wrong with my teeth including needing Invisalign and new teeth. I was so overwhelmed. She asked if I had any questions and I said how much would all of this cost, I wasn't expecting to have any issues and she estimated around $17,000! I was in complete shock and told her I was very overwhelmed and never expected to spend that much on my teeth at my age. She had no sympathy and said "the money always comes from somewhere." I left without making an appointment to fix my "problems" because they wanted a $100 per hour of work deposit. I needed time to digest all the bad news. I was depressed and couldn't sleep that night. I decided to get a second opinion (something I've never done before) before I spent $17000. I went to the highest rated dentist in Carlsbad on Yelp and sent them my XRays from Polished. He told me that not only do I have no cavities but he wouldn't do anything to my teeth even if they were his or his kids teeth!!! He was very surprised when I showed him my quote from Polished after he did my exam. I could not believe it!!! I lost so much sleep over what Polished told me and I just want to prevent anyone else from being scammed by them!

Fantastic experience: I am so energized by my initial visit and finally felt like I was being taken care of. 4 years - 3 different dentists and zero progress has been made with my TMJ ailments to date. Finally, I am hopeful and extremely encouraged by the plan set in place after just 1 visit with Polished General Dentistry. Technological advances DO exist for treating and eliminating the root of your ailments- (you do not have to settle for just treating symptoms.) Stay Tuned!

Fantastic experience: Dr Shelton and her staff are like family. I spend more time there then I do with my own family! They are caring, professional, funny, nice and overall have your best interest at heart. Dr. Shelton never tries to sell you on something you do not need and is very thorough in explaining what you do need and why. I have what I like to call "old" teeth and I can't thank them enough for all that they have done for me- from cleanings, to Invisalign, to teeth whitening, to getting rid of old metal fillings, to veneers. Positive experience: Good service and friendly staff. Has been a pleasant experience so far. My only qualm is that two treatment plans are not presented, especially when asked to give a more budget friendly plan. It seems like they care about getting paid first and my out of pocket costs seem to pile up even though I have dental insurance.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been putting off going to the dentist for years due to not having it apart of my yearly routine growing up! I had fears of going to the dentist, which affected my overall health…I am now 29 years old and about roughly two years ago finally got the courage to make that call and step foot in a dental office! If it wasn’t for an amazing friend who recommend polished General dentistry to me I would’ve never met dr. Shelton and her amazing staff! I felt welcomed as soon as I walked into her office and all fears went away…never once have I felt ashamed or embarrassed about how my teeth were! Fantastic experience: Best dentist EVER! I am always skeptical about dentists and the things they recommend but honestly this is the best my teeth have ever looked and felt! I haven’t always been the best at my oral care and have had some bad experiences with dentists and although in the beginning I was hesitant about some of the things recommended to me from Polished I went through with it and can honestly tell you they know their stuff! The difference after treatments you can feel and see. For the first time ever I can tell my teeth and gums are super healthy. Dr. Shelton is honest about what you need and does not recommend anything unnecessary that won’t improve your oral health I promise. It may not be what you want to hear but it IS what you need. I can say that from experience. I couldn’t be happier with the way my teeth look and feel!
