Experiencia fantástica: I wish I could give this place zero stars because it doesn’t even deserve one. This entire operation is a complete FRAUD and a SCAM designed to deceive and take your money under false pretenses. The level of service is absolutely abysmal, and the sanitation standards are nonexistent. The treatment area was filthy — dirty instruments, trash just sitting around like they don’t even care, which is utterly disgusting and completely unacceptable in any professional setting. I have been repeatedly horribly mistreated trying to get a simple tooth pulled. Despite multiple attempts, I’ve been failed three times, all because of the gross negligence and incompetence of the front desk PCC. They blatantly scheduled me for mouth surgery today — something I was never informed about — and then had the audacity to cancel it at the last minute without even bothering to notify me. When I arrived at the office, the staff’s attitude was indifferent, dismissive, and unprofessional — they couldn’t care less about their patients or the chaos they’ve caused. This place is nothing but a scam. They prey on vulnerable people, taking your money while providing subpar, unprofessional, and downright negligent service. It’s an outright ripoff, a complete waste of your time, your money, and your trust. Do not fall for their lies and fake promises. Stay far away from this place — it’s a scam, and they are more interested in lining their pockets than actually providing any real care or respect to their patients.

During check-in, I was required to provide highly sensitive personal information, including my full Social Security Number, a selfie photograph, and front and back images of my driver’s license — in addition to my home and work address, contact details, and detailed medical history. The system would not allow me to proceed without completing every field. For a routine dental visit, this level of data collection feels excessive and raises serious privacy and identity theft concerns. There was no clear explanation provided regarding why this information was necessary or how it would be protected. Patients trust healthcare providers with sensitive medical data. Expanding that to full identity verification documentation without transparent justification undermines that trust. I strongly encourage the clinic to clearly explain their data collection policies and ensure they align with reasonable privacy standards.

Dr. Soyfer is a true expert; he explained everything clearly and performed the extraction with such skill and precision that I felt no pain or discomfort during or after the procedure. His assistant, Alex, was equally amazing – attentive, supportive, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Their teamwork made what could have been a stressful visit a breeze. Experiencia negativa: AVOID THIS DENTIST! It was by far the most unprofessional rude experience I’ve ever had from a doctor. I went in for gum pain and the assistant was great. She took an X-ray and was very polite. Then the doctor came in. He was an older white gentleman who never introduced himself and was rude and condescending from the start. He never looked in my mouth and immediately said you need to have 2 teeth pulled. Not once looked or asked what my pain was…. He says I’ll show you the X-ray. When I asked to explain the details on the X-ray he says during the conversation that it’s a pricey operation but judging by the shoes I’m wearing I can afford it since he’s betting I’m not on food stamps…. Who says that to a patient?! And he never even once went over my old records to see that the tooth he said was dead was a crown and had a root canal done years ago already!? So of course the root would look dead on an X-ray. Avoid this place and go see a real dentist who actually cares about the patients and is professional. I would rather have my tooth fall out than have this guy touch my mouth. He couldn’t have cared less…. Save your teeth and find another dental office! By far the most unprofessional medical experience of my life.

Experiencia negativa: Very friendly administrative staff, but my recent experience with a dental implant turned out to be the most painful dental experience I've ever had (and it isn't the first implant or oral surgery I've had) - leading me to be in a lot of pain for a whole week all because the dentist didn't take the right precautions initially after surgery to prevent infection. I also don't appreciate having to pay and extra $50 for every dentist visit "due to tariffs" - nobody else I know has a dentist who charges that fee.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience with the doctor that wears the toupee. He has the worst bedside manor and made me feel worse than I did. I paid $270 to be told my blood pressure was too high to perform an extraction and was given a referral to another dentist. I was and still am in the worst pain. Call the referrals and they can't see me until next week. I feel like I'm going to lose my mind from this pain and all he could say is "what do you want to do? And why did I let my teeth get this way" I will never go back and he should not be allowed to practice!

Experiencia positiva: Have 3+ people rotate through on simple cleanings and its usuall new people every time. Constantly pushing new mouthgaurds, etc. They also charge a $50 "tariff fee" which is a complete money grab IMO. I get that dentists need to make good money but this office definitely makes it feel like they prioritize business over dentistry.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been treating with Mount Vernon Dental Smiles since 2020. The staff, dentists, and billing employees are all very friendly, helpful and understanding. I have had semi annual cleanings with this office as well as some dental work. They always explain to me what is recommended. On October 27, 2025, Dr Vlad Soyfer, Geeta and Alex completed my permanent crown on a left rear molar. The temporary crown Geeta made for me worked perfectly. Today the permanent crown was cemented in place. Dr. Soyfer did a great job. He was assisted by Geeta and then Alex. I recommend this office if you are looking to get quality dental care and reasonable prices.

One desperate call with Heidi set everything in motion—within minutes, Dr. Defare was able to bond my son’s retainer in under 15 minutes. However this last visit I saw that they charge for tariffs (not that its a huge problem) my insurance pays for my cleanings and this time for a cleaning I had to come out of pocket which is not normal, not sure whats going on but was very different

My "exam" was open your mouth and being told I have good oral hygiene. He didn't even come for my daughter's exam because he was "in a meeting without a known end time." The worst clinical interaction I have witnessed. This was a waste of time and money. We will be going to a new dentist.

Experiencia negativa: Beware: $50 Tariff Fee on every non routine service!!! This one sent me over the edge. First they started to make you pay the 3.5% fee to use a credit card now this?? No one can explain what materials they use could add up to an additional $50? I was generally pleased with my care received until this last visit when a new Dr whom I had never seen before came in and poked around for 30 seconds and said I needed 3 crowns. No explanation as to why or how time sensitive or priority. Needless to say I will be seeking a new provider.

She has always worked with my wife and my kid so they can fit in visits without interrupting their work, or school days. My son looks forward to coming in, ever since he met Morris(THANK YOU MORRIS)! Experiencia fantástica: Having relocated from another part of Virginia, and a dental practice we had been going to for 25+ years, I was apprehensive about seeing new dentists. My first appointment was for an exam and cleaning - quite necessary as I hadn't had my teeth cleaned in two years. The appointment went flawlessly. A number of X-rays and then a thorough cleaning (quite painless) were performed. After review, the dentist suggested an electric toothbrush (don't they all), "keeping an eye on #6", making sure to floss, and not waiting so long for the next appointment. Everything was top-notch, including the co-pay after the dental insurance was calculated. Everyone was friendly and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mount Vernon Dental Smiles to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been being seen here for several years now (regular cleanings and Invisalign) and it is one of the best dental practices I’ve personally come across. Along with doing good work, everyone is so friendly and really goes above and beyond to make it a pleasant experience. I’m very happy with the experiences my toddler has had here and, when I’ve had to bring my infant along, it has never been made to feel like an inconvenience. I would highly recommend this dentist, especially for families.

However when i picked up the treatment it was told it is for gum infections which i do not have. I heard them trying to get patients in other rooms to buy it as well. I need to be able to trust my dentist when they make recommendations and i do not feel like that was the case last week. Now Im stuck with this system that I do not need and out $1K. The hygenist also stopped cleaning my teeth when I agreed to buy this product and I had to go back in to have a different hygenist finish the cleaning.

Before dentist came in they wanted me to sign for a $600 deep cleaning. Refused to let me talk to the dentist first. We left. Next day we went to another dentist, who saw no issues. My family are leaving this provider. Talk about a scam.

Once I let the receptionist know about the time limitation she got me back for my cleaning. My hygienist, Mimi, was laser focused on my cleaning and finishing in time. She did an awesome job! My cleaning was 3 days ago and my teeth still feel like I just left the dentist! Plus the dentist was fantastic and so nice!! But I wanted to add my 2 cents (and sing their praises as well). Mount Vernon has been my dentist office for the past 2+ years, and I still visit even after moving farther away. In August, after I chipped a tooth and the bond on that tooth fell out, I called Mount Vernon and they immediately fit me in the next day (!) for emergency dental work. Shoutout to Cecilia for promptly scheduling me for my semi-annual cleanings and efficiently processing my claims/bills. Cecilia and the front desk staff are friendly and efficient, the dentist is competent and highly skilled, and the hygienists and dental assistants are friendly and focused at what they do. While I had some misgivings about finding a good dentist who is in network with United Concordia (aka Tricare Dental), my experience with Mount Vernon put those anxieties to rest. 10/10 recommend.

Experiencia negativa: We're a military family and have been to many dentists before and this is the first one I've had a bad experience at. I do not trust the employees at this practice and would never return. Yes, they are very friendly and then will give you services you don't need. They gave my 8 year old son x-rays without my permission and also gave him sealants on multiple teeth he'd had sealants on less than a year before. The office manager came in the middle of my exam to get permission for the sealants (the x- rays had already been performed and I didn't find this out until the bill a month later) and said it was included in my insurance. Of course later I get a bilI for the reason mentioned above. I also told the tech in my appointment that I'd already had x-rays at my previous dentist, and he said that billing had already checked and it was good to go. A month later I get a bill for my x-rays. I've never had a bill at the dentist for routine services because our insurance covers it, and not only did they try to blame it on me but the tech that performed all the services on my son was suddenly "on vacation" for the entire month of the billing issues. Notice that almost every 5 star review comes from their own system or Facebook page. I would never go to this practice again, but if you do beware of what they suggest you need done.

Experiencia negativa: Hi, I have given them a 1 star because BEWARE of Their PRICING. After they presented the Treatment plan, I paid them over $200 for a deep cleaning. This is with my FEP BCBS Dental insurance. Then they come back and say I owe them $278 in addition to the previously pd $200. $478 for a Deep Cleaning!!! There are other options, use them!!

I do have insurance, so this is the most costly cleaning I have ever received by 100%. Was told afterward it was because of the x-rays, which insurance only pays for a full set every 48 months. It would have been nice if they notified me ahead of time, then I could have had my previous dental clinic digitally send over the x-rays.

Experiencia fantástica: I called Mount Vernon Dental Smiles when I was in severe pain. (my regular dentist was on vacation.) MVDS understood that I was desperate, and they gave me an appointment quickly. Dr. C did a great job of analyzing the problem and proceeded to fix it in about 15 minutes. She was very thorough and knowledgeable. The pain has now disappeared, and I’m very thankful to them. Also, the dental assistant and all the office staff were cheerful and helpful with everything.

Experiencia negativa: I just went in the dentist office today for a teeth cleaning after making an appointment three times instead of them just saying they don't have Saturday appointments anymore. The last staff has Saturday appointments.The black lady dentist from last year 2023 was the best! Now you have a new staff that do not know what they're talking about and I would never return there trying to tell me I have no insurance and I have to pay for X-RAY. All I wanted was a teeth clean and a x-ray of my whole mouth so I can get stuff done instead I get.. first the whole staff left out the room and left me sitting there, while you're doing a teeth cleaning no glasses for my face like the other dentist offices , and then try to lie to my face. Do not believe these reviews . The reviews are for the last staff..The staff is TERRIBLE especially the receptionist. The receptionist is very rude .When they made this dentist office they made many more. I will go to a black dentist that understands English and what I am talking about. MetLife insurance... And what is the point of taking money out of my paycheck for insurance ... Do you know how hard it is to get comfortable and trust the dentist?

Experiencia fantástica: The Front Desk staff make you feel welcome as you enter the office and are always cordial. The dentists (Dr. C and Dr. Miriam) and the dental hygienist (Christina) actually listen to concerns, are knowlwdgeable, easy to talk to, and take care/pride in their work, and the dental assistants do their best to make you feel comfortable. Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: I am new the area and in need of a new dentist, and thought after reading some good reviews I'd give Mount Vernon Dental a try for a routine cleaning. I had a sub-par experience and will certainly be looking for another dentist that I feel actually takes their time with me, has a treatment mentally that is more conservative and less "drill happy" and has an office that is better run/organized. It may just have been an off day at Mount Vernon Dental Smiles (based on the numerous positive reviews), but my experience felt rushed, all three people I saw (dental assistant, hygienist, and then the dentist) all asked me the exact same questions/had clearly not read the very extensive new patient intake forms/questions they asked me to complete or talked to each other, and were 35mins late and made no mention of this until I eluded to it. The cleaning was by far the least thorough I have ever had. Additionally, the treatment plan /summary of cost and what my insurance would cover did not match what was described to me.

The rest of the staff is also very professional, welcoming, answer all your questions, and ensures that you making the best decision for your smile. This keeps my family coming back! Experiencia positiva: 3 stars for the very kind and accommodating staff, however, the dental work is very subpar. I ended up having to switch dentists from my childhood dentist to Mount Vernon Dental Smiles, which I found online. I found that the new dentist was very quick to recommend fillings, replacing fillings, new fillings, and filling an exposed area that was giving me no issues at all. Mind you, I was just at my previous dentist 6 months ago and she had never recommended/ mentioned any of these things that were now being recommended -- one area we were watching to make sure it was not getting worse (but the new dentist wanted to fill it anyways rather than wait for me to get my old x-rays to compare). I went ahead and trusted my new dentist and the procedure of getting 3 new fillings was very rushed and afterward just felt off as compared to previous experiences with my old dentist. Not to mention, the filling was done on one of my exposed teeth where I was having no problems or sensitivity, and now it is super sensitive with hot/cold and flossing. I had to go back and the dentist put more filling on top of what had already been done which was also uncomfortable. Don't even ask me how many times my husband has had to go back in for issues. We will be looking elsewhere for our dental care.

Experiencia positiva: I had my teeth cleaned at Mt. Vernon Dental Smiles and had a really good experience. After confirming my insurance, which took awhile but they were very diligent and patient, Morris was my Dental Hygienist and he did a great job. He walked me through what he was doing every step of the way and was very gentle during the flossing portion of the cleaning, which I appreciated.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. As-Keliddar was the first dentist to give me a filling that didn’t hurt to chew on afterwards! I didn’t know this is what fillings were supposed to feel like. Wonderful! I am a high anxiety dental patient, and both she and her dental assistant Almaz were so kind and patient and comforting with me. I want them every time!

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely the BEST Services from the Front Desk staff to the Hygienists to the Dentist! I’m new to this area (2 months) and needed routine care. I stumbled across this office on the internet out of the thousands of Dental offices. I am one who has always visited a Dentist for routine care. (Ended up needing more work) I have travelled to every corner of the US and I have never felt as comfortable as I have with this office. Seamless, personable, no pressure, clean, friendly, Professional and Fast. I will be leaving the area soon, however, should I return here, this will definitely be my Preferred Dental office! And, I don’t usually don’t leave reviews. This office Deserved my review!

Experiencia fantástica: As an adolescent, I developed a phobia of dental care due to traumatic experiences with dental procedures. Now in my 50’s I no longer struggle with seeking dental care because I found Mt. Vernon Dental Smiles (MVDS) via a Google search of 5-star dentistry in Alexandria VA. Here are the reasons why I now receive comprehensive dental care: 1. Almaz - dental assistant: did tapping! Almaz applying the TAPPING emotional health skill on me CALMED MY ANXIETY AND STRESS during a procedure that involved anesthetic injections and drilling. I was amazed and appreciative of her addressing my emotional need. She is also very pleasant and professional. Wow, dental staff that are TRAUMA INFORMED do exist!!! 2. Dr. Chadive – is GENTLE, kind, knowledgeable, INFORMATIVE, and completes procedures timely, which lessens my stress and anxiety. 3. Morris – dental hygienist: FINALLY, I experienced a deep cleaning WITHOUT PAIN. He fully explained steps of the cleaning while being gentle, kind, and professional. 4. Sunny – office manager: diligently and professionally resolved a billing issue. His approach is informative and kind. He is EAGER and motivated to solve problems. 5. Jordan – dental assistant: he is VERY very very nice, kind, and gentle. 6. Cecilia – receptionist: VERY POLITE and approachable. 7. Office hours accommodate my work schedule, I can schedule 7 or 8am visits as needed! Pros: the office functions and feels like a family unit, all other staff members seemed dedicated and professional, and the items listed above. Con: I had 2 new dentists this year, so I had a total of 3 in the past 3 years at MVDS. I hope Dr. Chadive and Almaz stay!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Mt Vernon Dental Smiles for about three years. They are always prompt (don't have to wait long to get seated in dental chair) and friendly. So far, it has been a very positive experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Great office parking & the check in process was really easy. The hygienist, assistant & doctor were all really nice and made me feel welcome as a 1st time patient. I also got a clear explanation as to my charges and what was/was not covered under insurance. 10/10 first experience here.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m giving 5 stars to Jordan and Tina!!!! I had the best experience with my dentist cleaning ever. This is my 4th time at this location and all as been pretty well. I suffer from extreme sensitivity and both we were understanding and gentle. Jordan made sure Tina was aware of my sensitivity and she used a technique that was never offered to me before. So appreciated. When most times they just blow air on my teeth with no care disregarding sensitivity. Tina went above to ensure I did not experience any discomfort. All hygienist should be trained to deal with people with sensitivity the same.

Experiencia positiva: The staff are very friendly here! My daughter and I both go here. We are always welcomed with prompt and quick service, which I really appreciate. I do think the dental techs could be more gentle with their teeth cleaning, but overall I’m happy with their services and will continue to be a client.
